A legendary bandit known as the "Dead End Queen", Alastia was born into the nobility of the human city of Avalon as Alice Egrisi, but throughout childhood, often visited the slums in disguise. However, some point in her early adulthood, she had a falling out with her family that ended in her killing her own parents and brother. Now a criminal, Alice abandoned her name, and became Alastia Crow. Beginning as a member of a small-time bandit group, she overthrew the previous leader and moved her group into the Merchant Highlands, gaining infamy by providing forces and resources to other Bandit groups to aide in their schemes, in exchange for fealty. Thus, from nothing, Alastia grew her bandit empire, and her ruthless elimination of rivals and dissenters gave her the ruthless title of "Dead End Queen". When the Alliance dismantled numerous Bandit groups during their early days, Alastia played the conflict from the background, using the Alliance victory to her advantage. She and her bandits remained quiet in the years to follow, but after orchestrating the theft of Thanaton, the Scythe of the God of Death, Amon, which was also the former vessel of the Primeval known as Arulok, Alastia's behavior began to change and began more obsessed with death, and the puppeteeress of the bandits began to move back into the open as she moved her forces towards the vulnerable Dwarven homelands of Nidavalir, seeking to arm her forces with dwarven weaponry to "declare war upon the world".
