Starting up Eternal on Game Pass PC and on UN settings at 1440p I get 180+ fps, but RT and DLSS are giving me issues. With RT on it goes down to 20 in game on UN, 50 on low, but menus are fine. With DLSS everything tanks to 10 fps. I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers and don't have any major background tasks running. I'm running a 12700k with a 3070 ti and 32gb ram

Thanks for the advice. I tried it and it must have done something, though not all at once. First DLSS was able to function, then RT caught up. I'm now able to have both on at the same time, Quality DLSS w/ 100 sharpness and RT on. Thank you so much!

ok i don't think i'm quite out of the woods yet. seems like the settings are inconsistent and the fps can change on a whim. what once ran at a clean max fps now tanks, dlss or otherwise, and based on YT videos with similar or worse specs but the same settings I use, i'm getting way less fps than i should be (about 50-60 at 1440p, fov 110, UN, no RT or DLSS). add to that the game just froze when i picked up the infinite lives cheat in the first mission lol.

you probably need to install the drivers for it. on another device with a flash drive, go to here rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x570-e-gaming-model/helpdesk_download/, select your os, then download the "wireless" one and download it to the flash drive. then put the file onto your computer your built and set it up.

It's gotta be something to do with Vulkan since the issue persists even after a full reinstall of the game. However other Vulkan games are working fine so I don't know anymore

Hi everyone, seems everyone here has similar issues. Full description below and new to PC gaming so sorry for my ignorance on some stuff, doom eternal crashes at settings or launching campaign after loading.

Ray tracing or DLSS hurts fps but noticed my wattage lowers when activating these.

Have gotten rt working right only once at full 120 fps

Model: Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H (Ryzen 5 5600h) RTX 3060 8Gb ram
Describe the issue: Doom eternal (Xbox PC game pass) crashes when just going into settings, launching game if switched monitors changes the resolution and if game manages to run it undervolts automatically when activating ray tracing or it completely crashes. Also laptop gets to 90c when playing not exactly sure if that's normal. (other games are below 85c except COD warzone) DLSS also underperfoms and undervolts even without Ray tracing

Kept happening with factory drivers, some updated drivers (which I forgot the ver.) and the latest installed drivers 516.93

What have you tried already?: Unistalled and installed the game again, run it as administrator. I was able to play twice when by random chance I was able to restore default video/graphics settings within the game
When did it start producing the issue: Just got the laptop (1 month or less) same issues since then
Did you install new drivers or software?: Updated all windows drivers, updated Nvidia Drivers to latest 516.93 and previous versions

just played around with fullscreen / borderless and hdr on / off and apparently the screenshots look much better without HDR on, looked around and found out (from a thread in 2018 on steam) taking screenshots with hdr on is a little bit messy as they cant capture the hdr metadata of the picture (at least normal tools like steam aren't really able to from what i've gathered), so i either have to turn off hdr or use external tools

Hi, I run it with my laptop LoW settings, its playable but with latency. I have a similar CPU (i7-5700HQ) but a better graphic card (4000 on passmark) your M370 scores 1400 on passmark.. that is really Low and far away from the minimum requirements. But maybe with reduced resolution 1280x720 you can do something.. not sure..

The requierements : gtx 1050ti (scores 5700) R9 280 (scores 6000)

I made a test, in 640x480 it takes 4977 Mo of computer Ram. 2600 Vram, and i have 80 fps low a 75 fps up to 120. So you should expect three times less with your graphic card. Can we say it s playable ? 🤔 up to you.

If your system have 8go ram, windows takes 4go all the times if doom takes 4 all the times that mean your ram is full = your computer will lag. But maybe with your graphic card having 4 go of Vram it will be enough. And sytems requirements are 8go ram so maybe its enough. That sounds impossible to me but why not. Just try.
My opinion is that your graphic card is not powerfull enough to make the game playable in good conditions. You will be forced to set a resolution of 640x480 and you will have 30 fps.

It seems like running Idtechlauncher as admin seemed to have solved the first problem of the game terminating randomly (stopped running). You probably know what terminating means, I’m just making sure I’m using the right word.

what you want to do is open your game folder

right click on id tech launcher, then properties, then check run as admin, do the same for the doom eternal executable, then whenever you open it, it will ask once if you want to allow id tech launcher to make changes, just click yes.

I found out that to fix stuttering issue and sudden fps drop, you need to disable Shader Pre-Caching. Open Steam, go to Settings —> Shader Pre-Caching -->

I don't know the exact details myself but this seems to be a buggy interaction between drivers and DE. Vram is essentially the "ram" of textures, ie it stores all the textures and is much more faster than regular ram. This bug happens when the game can't isolate enough ram/vram and crashes on launch. There's no concrete fix to this, but a multitude of ways eventually might fix your problem. For starters, disable fulscreen optimisations, check your graphic drivers and update them or revert them to a prievous stable build. I've even heard that increasing vram paging size may fix the problem, though it didn't work for me personally.

I didnt have a clear instruction on how to do it so i jumped ontop of a skull throne then onto its horns to knock it down. In a panic cuz standing still is a death sentence, you mash every button to get them to move. Then suddenly the game executes every button you hit in rapid succession? Yea I did it it just needed a rest

We put the CPU today and I play doom since then

And taught my dad how to play too

And it just needed a 10 min rest

Also i5 4590 is a great CPU

The min cpu requirement is i5 2200

Also ur cpu is awful for some reason my CPU's base frequency is 3.30 ghz and your's is 1.70

The only thing which your cpu does better is the 6 cores and 6 threads which mine has 4 core's and 4 threads

go to saved games folder - search it up on windows search bar - look for id Software, go on base, then there should be a doom eternal config file, create a local and u can change some settings to increase fps that are not available in game

just search it up on yt and u should find it

Hi guys. I just bought Doom Eternal from Steam and downloaded it. Also I have a DualSense. I saw that PS players can play Doom with adaptive triggers. Can I play with adaptive too from Steam? Or is there a mod for it?

Whenever I launch doom eternal on steam, I cant interact with anything on the screen and none of my button inputs on my keyboard do anything. Everything loads as normal on doom though. Any ideas?

Alright so

I have to open up doom in the weirdest way for it to properly play

So basically since i play on laptop i have a igpu and a gpu right

But when i try to open up doom it says “could not enumerate graphics devices”

So the fix for this was to disable the igpu

But then for whatever reason my framerate got capped at 3fps and i needed to enable the igpu again for it to uncap from 3fps

Its a very bothersome fix and i have to do this everytime when i decide to play the game so is there any long term fixes for this?

Also i need to restart my laptop entirely whenever after ive done this once for some reason

All of my drivers are upto date and my windows is upto date aswell

Having an OBS issue if anyone can assist with streaming problems, good old black screen instead of gameplay. OBS is up to date and I'm aware that Vulkan api issue, but with my OBS being up to date that shouldn't be an issue... yet it still isn't seeing the game.

Hey guys, well... A few days ago when I started playing Doom Eternal, it happened to me that I couldn't minimize the game in any way. I tried the same game settings which managed to put the game in windowed mode but it is not possible for me to interact with any other application on the pc. I tried Alt+Tab and Alt+Enter but still can't minimize the game... Is there any other method to fix it? :(

Nope, the game doesn't crash for me. I can play very well, the only problem is that I can't minimize it. I can close and open it with no problem

I have a similar problem. I bought the game on sale on Steam in conjunction with the DLC. The file weighs 89 Gb. When I launched the game, it turned out that I can only play the DLC, and I have to buy the Battlemod campaign itself, even though Steam shows me that I have the game

Guys I made it. To minimize the game, I just opened the interactive map and then Alt Tab. For some reason it is not possible for me to minimize the game in the main menu yet, but it is possible while the interactive map is open in the middle of a game (in case anyone has this same problem)

My PC used to run Eternal for 140 fps, I took a week break because of work. I booted up my game today and it ran only 50 fps, lowering my graphic quality doesn't help
so I tried reinstalling the game but that made it worst, now it's running 20 fps. I just purchased both DLCs last week too

Yknow I see all these people saying "I can't play anything running below 100fps" or something but frankly I think 60 looks great. Hell most games on the 3DS pulled 30 at max. I know I'm not helping, I just haven't experienced a super high frame rate like that so I don't much get the interest in keeping it that high

Hey guys, I have a question, I thought they had fixed this bug when I first encountered back when TAG2 launched but at the world spear where the arena where you encounter the armored barons, got to the end and it spawned endless imps, no matter how much I try, they just keep spawning, and I am doing this on extra life mode, I heard going back to most recent checkpoint fixes this but it only allows me to reset mission, is there any way to get through this?
