well i dont remember but uh i got the secret i found a way to get it and i found a key and it led me to a fight with a Marauder

Ok so you worded things a little confusingly but from my understanding you already got the secret you were looking for, so I'll move on from that. Tell me if you still need help with the secret. To kill a marauder you need to wait for his "green eye" attack, that happens when you keep him at medium range. You need to shoot him with a gun powerful enough to stagger him, so the super shot gun, ballista, or precision bolt all work.

You'll need to do this several times in order to kill him. Make sure he's far enough away from you that he doesn't use his shotgun, but not too far that he throws his axe at you. That's the range you want to be at for his green eye attack. Also don't shoot him when he isn't doing the green eye attack, as he will block it with his shield, and then spawn his wolf, which is annoying to deal with.

You want him to throw his axe for the most consistent marauder fight. The axe in of itself is no problem, it's super slow and super easy to dodge.

Once he has thrown his axe he will run at you and do a green eye flash attack. So, keep him far away so he throws his axe, and then just let him come to you

Well hello there - and "Guten Tag" - you amazing people! 👋
I'm a little nerd, made in Germany, going by the name of KEX 🇩🇪
And i am a volunteer moderator on the Official DOOM Discord.

My goal, as part of the moderation team there, is simple.
In every community, there are… ‘bad people.’
And i want to keep the community as safe and welcoming as possible for everyone.
It is an honor to be a little helping hand in this amazing community!

For anyone interested, here's some yapping about my motivation, where it comes from
and why i love the franchise and community around it.

I'm a doom fan since i was little.
Every evening when my dad came home from work, I would watch him play DOOM 64.
This was my first ‘experience’ with first person shooters. I rooted for him, puzzled over
how things would continue, suffered together when we didn’t get any further
or saw the death screen over and over again.

Anyways, that was how i first got in touch with the DOOM Universe.
Later, when we had a PC at home, my dad also played DOOM and DOOM 2.
And if I was a good little KEX and had good grades in school, my
dad would have a surprise for me. He changed the key bindings, so that he walked
through the world and controlled the character and I was allowed to press the
‘shoot button.’ That was our own little version of DOOM CO-OP back then. Good times.

When my dad eventually bought a new PC (for DOOM 3), I got his old PC and was able to dive into
the world of FPS myself, e.g. DOOM, Half Life, Wolfenstein etc.
That's where i slowly but surely learned some things about computers and games too.
For example, i helped my dad install DOOM 3 mods since he didn’t know as much about PC’s.
That was my sneaky way to play DOOM 3, because… I had to test if the mods are working, right?

Given that DOOM was such a strong part of my childhood, I think it is only natural that
my interest in the franchise has continued to this day.

Of course, there are also games like Half-Life that wouldn’t even exist without the Quake
engine. And where did the Quake engine come from? From Quake! And what was before
Quake? Exactly: DOOM!

And even over 30 years later, they are still making incredible games.
They always improve things and never "play the same song again".
That's how the fantastic developers at id Software always manage to draw me into their games.
And after way over 500 hours in DOOM Eternal, and god only knows
how many hours into the other games: I still enjoy and love them.

And having a massive community, to talk about all this, connect with people
who had similar experiences, hear their stories, talk about the games, get hyped together,
or even just casually talk about life - Is honestly the best thing ever.
And that needs to be protected at all cost - Just like Daisy!

Agreed with DOOM II being #1. It's my favorite mostly because custom WADs. DOOM 2016 is my second favorite, and DOOM 64 is my third favorite.

DOOM 64 I'd say is the best and most consistent for old Doom games for vanilla maps, but Custom WADs makes DOOM II better overall

I have multiple files that I made with wadsmoosh plus with different WADs loaded into them. Doom, Sigil, and Sigil II on one, Doom II and Master Levels on another, etc.

though weirdly enough wadsmoosh plus requires Doom I and II to function at all, as in if one or neither is in the source-wads folder, it won't even load the program.

that's the order that wadsmoosh has implemented in. the file that it spits out though, you can edit the order with Slade in the MAPINFO file if you want

I actually did this with that all wad file to make it more readable to myself

I changed the names of like 4 episodes, but other than that, everything is just in a different order

I can say though, that if you plan on using wadsmoosh plus over the original, you'll have to be prepared to go into slade and edit the files a bit. wadsmoosh plus for some reason still loads the animdefs of textures that aren't even loaded into the file, so you'll get a constant error until you delete whatever caused it in the file.

ah okay then, I still recommed WotM for the ML, instead of making it all a single episode a là "Hell On Earth", it can only get messy if you don't separate each individual series as their own episodes. the origi al 21 were not designed for a megawad compilation

they've been tweaked, yes, but I still wouldn't recommend them

as part of the Mod Browser Community Curated Uploads initiative, I've uploaded episode replacement versions of the levels based on how WotM does it

for Dr. Sleep's Inferno, Jim Flynn's Titan and Sverre Kvernmo's Cabal series, all three of which are butchered by all of the official ML releases

as I said, WotM is the way to play the ML, because of the fact that it treats the original authors' work as the episode replacements they were originally meant to be

the obvious example is Dr. Sleep's work, which was meant from the beginning to be a series of nine maps in a single wad, originally releasing as single level pwads, later being merged

however

the fact is, 5 of the maps are locked behind the commercial release of the ML, so there is no "official" way to play them "correctly" if you don't know how to use SLADE to merge them properly

it becomes even worse when you look at the Titan maps, which were never officially order by their author, Flynn, before he passed away, and also Cabal, was originally meant to be a 32 map megawad that cut down to size, and as a matter of fact, the order the Cabal maps are found in WotM were discussed being their author, Kvernmo, and JP LeBreton, arriving at the order you see on WotM's wiki page

not a single one of the official ML releases do this, they treat the original 21 maps included as a randomly assorted, messily structured megawad with no sense of direction or flow

to aggravate this further, Chris Klie, one of the contributors involved, actually did think that the ML project was going to be a random 32-map megawad of community made works, so he whipped up 12 completely arbitrary levels on his own right, as seen on his wiki page

while the previous 3 authors were in fact working on a certain order, a particular choice of skybox texture, a particular OST, etc, Klie did not, he made 12 samples of maps, that were all MAP01 slotted with no custom textures or OST choice other than the default D_RUNNIN, making any possible semblance of cohesion to be even more null and void, which only worsened the reputation of the ML as a whole

I'm posting here since I can't post it in support but going back to older games for achievement hunting I somehow have two versions of a 360 Wolfenstein 3D. I'm so confused.

The arcade one is on 360 while the one that says 360 is xbox one only. Xone doesn't have the wolfenstein 2009 trailer and has different main screen music but other than that seems exactly the same. I can't find anything about this online.
