DOOM 3 doesn't have widescreen and you can't make it fit your display resolution unless you play with the config file

and it's pretty easy to do that

config file can change the resolution and everything. also you can't alt + tab out of the game, but you can windows + enter or alt + enter

For example there was a green shield behind some bars early on in the game that I couldn't figure out how to get to and it wasn't crucial that I figure out how, but trying to do on screen seemed like a waste of time.

One thing I can say now that I've listened to the Doom 2016 soundtrack separately from playing the actual game is that now that I am playing the game the images in my head and the sounds used in some of the songs are really throwing me off. I expected a big event after Olivia's first broadcast, "My sisters and brothers" because in the OST it's tired to a heavy song.

Yes and no. Most likely you’re just not used to 2016, so it feels harder. However, you do have less options when it comes to movement and regaining lost resources. So making mistakes is more punishing. At least on higher difficulties.
If it weren’t for some insanely unbalanced upgrades/runes, I would consider 2016 harder than Eternal. Though I will say Nightmare in this game is far more brutal.

I mean, yeah, its fun, but at the same time, I dint think it was really meant for my PC…

I just realized that while the chaingun can kill a hell knight or baron pretty fast the chainsaw shreds through them even faster despite chaingun firing 15mm tungsten slugs at 5000 FPS

Ok. Personally I say keep using the SSG and Gauss but also use the Rocket Launchers Lock-On way more alongside Micro Missiles. If you have it Dazed and Confused could help a lot keeping enemies in a gk state for longer though it's not as long as Eternals so keep that in mind.

Practice in nightmare and practice in arcade mode

arcade mode is a great chill way to learn about the arenas and spawn locations and practicing combat

gives you a bit more of an advantage than regular nightmare but it's good for a more chilled practice

Honestly I just practice nightmare areas that owned be over and over sometimes for a day or 2 each. One day I did a nightmare run for practice no deaths. Did another after. Thats how I knew I was ready. But everyone has a process. I was very unsure of myself
