there’s this quirk in some arenas where it will progress if a certain enemy count reaches 0, as opposed to when the wave is actually supposed to end, in the penultimate wave in the the escalation encounter usually four whiplashes in total spawn before the next wave happens, but kill both at the same time and they will spawn alongside the next wave, letting you ignore them completely cuz BFG, and then there’s the stone imp skip at the end which despawns the hellified barrier early, but the imps still spawn

btw dark lord in this category sucks because you skip the world spear upgrade which lets the dark lord give you ammo when you hammer him

I think my time was like 1:54 on my beat dark Lord for this category but my best darklord with a fully upgraded hammer was like 1:21

Hello! Coming to the doom discord to report a bug that I’ve seen barely anyone talk about for steam deck. Having an issue with cutscenes specifically. The game performs terrific on the platform but has one problem: the cutscenes flicker whenever the camera cuts to a new scene

and if I really cared that much about it I can just edit my profile bin to the max value, giving me 8 red prestige

But yes Eternal (and other fast-paced games) aren't really meant to be played on a marathon, at least after you've gone past the initial adrenaline when you just started the game that is

I usually only play one or two sessions per day, and after that I'd put the game down for tomorrow or some time later

If you try to force yourself to play when you clearly don't want to, you'd just end up hating the game and yourself which isn't good, so take a break when you feel the slightest inclination to do so

the arena starts easy with like a few arachnotrons and hell knights, but after killing a few some spectre whiplashes spawn, a dblade is a good way to wipe them out, after that a tyrant and a few carcasses spawn, focus on the tyrant with high dps like pb ssg or something, or lock on if you can, after killing those carcasses I think 3 barons should spawn and after killing 2 of them 2 doom hunters will spawn, make sure you have a blood punch or ice bomb at your disposal, after that the arena pretty much ends

bloodshot onetime discovered a glitch in mars core with the portal where you could just hug the corner of it from the outside and you’d teleport, they only patched it out in 6.66 because the master level

it wasn’t a very practical skip anyways, the enemies in the arena don’t despawn when you leave, enemy capping yknow

I had a weird glitch in doom hunter base where I dashed into one of the floating coffin things and go teleporter into a death plane, and it respawned me some distance from where you would normally reappear there

games buggy just kinda forgets where your last location was and also for some reason activates the fall sequence or whatever it’s called

don’t know why it happens but i could give a pretty good guess

sometimes something that death warps on its own is capable of sending you to its last known location, which it is also confused about, this typically happens with marauders if you walk into their gibs while any part of them is falling down, my assumption is it happens because you somehow clip into the coffin briefly, and also activated it, it somehow reads as already having gone through the process of falling, subsequently tricking the slayer into falling too, and then just respawns him in the next room over because the game gets confused

this is probably complete yapping but i want to say that I think this is somewhat correct

it is set through the entity file for modding btw, so each meathook point has a different speed

the default one should be around 22.5 for ai, usually for the flying points is 10 or 15

Why is the Marauder taking you 20-10 minutes to beat? it should take between 10-20 seconds. In fact, speedrunners have figured out how to beat the Marauder in like three seconds.

I found that keeping a constant circling with him, if he circles to your left, keep that circle going by going to the right, sticky shotgun his dog's, then super shotgun/rocket launcher when you counter him, when he starts spawning the hellknight, you'll wanna switch that circle motion to more of a figure eight, when he summons a bunch of shit, just sentinel hammer it all asap before they spread out, then keep doing that circle motion

never kill the zombies if you can try, always keep them around for emergency health, Shields, and ammo, I'd recommend using the blood punch heal Rune so that you can keep in the fight rather than using a glory kill

always stack the flame belch with it so you can maximize each zombie, otherwise, like I said, circle, sticky, super rocket switch, and panic hammer, you should be good if you use all that + your regular marauder knowledge

using dash to reposition will be your biggest help when he uses his grenades or swings, just stay in a like 25 meter circle and you should be fine, if you're really worried, using slow mo + shield chain gun to really get into a better position so he can't fire at you

well just off the top of my head, on current patch, spirits take 65 ammo to kill, they used to take a bit more, the area with the possessed hell knight has a possessed baron, blood maykrs had fiercer AI ( I personally can’t tell the difference ) and the spirits in the samur fight didn’t take as long to repossess a demon, i dont think there were any major balancing changes though, and as for TAG2, it’s far easier on its release patch, that’s why it’s optimal to speedrun on

It's different for every people

In a chaotic game like Doom Eternal, I don't think most people can really intuitively keep track of their HP + Armor stacks, ammo count, cooldowns, etc.

dedicated NoHud players are the exception more than anything

you want to top up ammo and health anyways so it's a lot less relevant then you might think aswel
