If you meet the score target for a certain rank it awards you with the energy threshold of that rank, and your 6 subcategories average = your final energy
Pushing score closer to the next rank awards more energy

novice caps at a lil bit over gold, int a lil bit over master
celestial is top 3, with minimum score for it to be considered a celestial score
the minimum score is implemented so that people who hit astra aren't automatically celestial
do you know if you can be celestial without a single point in dynamic
you can only be celestial by having celestial in all 6 subcategories

I honestly don't know how I hit my diamond score in VT bounceTS intermediate lol, I've been struggling to get even a plat average in it right now.
yeah bounce ts feels a bit hard, i struggled before but i felt i was able to get the score if i tried
but now i cant really get the flow
yeah, bounceTS just feels kinda inconsistent and I can't really put my finger on exactly why.

VT ground varied scores for each rank need to be adjusted. i am iron or bronze on every other scenario, but on this one i scored almost 300 higher than gold

Feels as if new season is very forgiving in a way, considering i can't get plat on 3 scenario's but still able to get diamond ranked.
I struggle with Air Varied, bounceTS, Multiclick and bounceshot 
okay so you cannot reach intermediate energy in novice level, got it
you need 500 energy for plat. I'm not really sure if it starts exactly at 500 or at 501

I do like the new scenarios especially for dynamic and reactive. ts scores feel about right for both int and adv. precise tracking and static master and gm ranks could be made a bit easier imho because I could easily reach master+ any day. hard to compare new dynamic and react scenarios but feel equally hard to me. ps rip fuglaa and aa4

a whole rank harder though? easily getting master-gm+ any day vs not even getting master.. yeah ts has always been the easiest category for me as well but scores feels balanced with the new season so maybe those haven't been made harder yet

If it wasn't raised that much it'd be extremely easy to reach your desired rank, because the energy system allows you to get ranks without necessarily meeting all its rank thresholds
You get rewarded for pushing your scores further and you can compensate for your weaknesses

I just want to wish good luck to people going for astra
Makes everyone earn it back with a good amount of effort and makes the higher ranks feel more rewarding as well, since the intended difficulty of last season was too low
I can see how you can compensate between categories, like TS making up for reactive as a weakness, but not within say precise or static as they're both harder so even the stronger scenario is still a rank behind. but if the whole last season was too easy then I can't judge that very well anyway, I can only compare the two so far

and if you do that it takes away the challenge of getting it and the satisfaction that comes with that
and it's possible that the top end is overtuned, but overtuned is better than too easy, since if we buff things that's always worse than nerfing
people are only really going to start trying when they're out
I was just hoping the threshold for each rank doesn't get affected by percentage of people getting it, so you think there is too many GM+ and you buffing scores, but that literally makes the same 10 people who grind scens 10h a day raise the bar even higher which means deranking for other people

I share this concern though, because I thought ranks were kind of comparable between seasons and I would not want to try to keep up with others' grinds raising the requirements (esp by whole ranks per season). Then again if it's not meant to be a stable objective standard and the targets keep moving I may just continue playing s3 or even sparky ranks for myself, it would only affect discord ranks right?

It’s still beta. I’d stay with current benchmarks until they are officially released.

The benchmark and fundamental scenarios are completely independent, so there's no need to. We may make some changes, but for now there's really no need.
I have been tracking what the community has been saying and following feedback carefully, and I haven't noticed this at all. I also don't think that the few people you talked to speak for everyone else. You must also not forget that we have our own team of people that provides us with feedback when we determined the scenarios and changes. Not to mention that just because someone doesn't like something it, doesn't mean it's bad.

although i think a general buff like they have applied was a good thing, ranks should feel hard.
i like getting de-ranked. however i think it's odd that the benchmarks are harder when there is an introduction of a new rank at the bottom

Novice seems to be at a level that makes sense for Iron-Gold
i personally like the new scenarios, especially not having to do the long old ground plaza. plus who cares if the ranks are harder to reach. if you trying to be better then get better 😄
And Intermediate seems to be at a level that makes sense for Plat - Master

I'm not really too fond of the precedence set that every benchmark must be 25% acc for a gm score i mean what are you really benchmarking? how well you can predict the bot because its so small and hard to hit

But I think we have a pretty good intuition on what works, heck we've been running the benches for about 3 years now and the team working on them and the ones creating the scenarios are responsible for the best scenes to date
So I'm confident that the changes are good
also these benchmarks were indeed sculpted by the community we listened to alot of feedback and its what the community wanted 🙂

yeah, we wanted to make sure the other levels were forming better habits before making their way to the harder levels because pgti was wayyyyyyyyyy too hard for example for lower level players and it made the jump from intermediate to advanced insane because theyre not really learning anything if they cant even hit the bot i think master was like 20% back in the day
controlsphere is a nice scene for improvement, idk if it'd be a great orfor bench

well we kinda do have a scenario similar to controlsphere in AL benchmarks
I had this issue with the jump from easy to advanced air and gp, feels nice to actually be able to track the intermediate targets now and just work on higher acc%

one thing i do agree is the smoothbot is a little slow
we just have to play around with it to find that nice balance
so i think we can increase the speed a little bit, just not too much to avoid the problem with it last season

i avgd jade pgti easily but i couldnt get jade preciseorb in a few trys and i avg low borderline diamond at best
the target score would prolly be enough at 2400 instead of 2500 for jade
i know its supposed to be harder but it feels way harder in relation to the other tasks

i havent done too much of the new season yet because ive been busy and sick, but for me i feel bounceTS and evaTS is a little harder but im still adjusting to it. preciseorb definitely feels a little harder for some reason and im not sure why because i felt like old pgti was not only smaller but faster and more erratic so idk what the deal is there other than i havent been playing much pgti lately LMAO
my scores arent the best on them but i really enjoy the strafe scenes theyre enjoyable and ive always wanted some decent movement scenes to do
To my suprise pill strafe is insanely easy eventho i never played movement aiming before

New season benchmarks news
kovaaks. the scoring is now x10 of the targets hit
- scores are being multiplied by 10x to have consistent scaling across the board
for the scenes that need it ofc
gotcha gotcha, was referencing the google sheet to see if numbers changed and was confused. im trying to get nerfed not buffed
- some bugs with the strafes scenes that had unintentional timescaling affecting the scenario length, this is now being fixed + score targets are being scaled proportionally
- VT Spheretrack Advanced has a bug where it didn't get difficulty increase similarly the Novice version didn't get a difficulty decrease (trying to solve this with AL)
- On Aim Lab the Advanced Benchmark playlist has a few scenarios that can't be added to the playlist, we're looking into this with AL
i assume the current advanced score reqs are just placeholders while the scenes are adjusted, but still just wanted to send this just in case

No, but it's close, Spheretrack had a bug where it wouldn't update the scenario
We had raised the difficulty at Advanced, and reduced it at Novice

its a common trend that one of the scenarios in the same sub ccategory is harder than the other one
by quite a bit
i feel like if you had some diamonds grind each section for like one day or somn and took their average scores and accuracy then scaled the diff between each rank based on how much accuracy affects the scores you could get a pretty good idea of how it should look
because honestly since i see the gms and novas mostly on top of the lbs im assuming you had them play for some feedback
but when only gms/novas can get master scores sometimes and even only barely it might be worth looking into

I think a reset would be a good idea if a major changes had been done to a specific scenario. Doesn't make much sense to reset the leaderboards otherwise. Resetting for no reason would only discourage people from playing the new benchmarks before release
I honestly think thats now on par with the difficulty of bouncets and where it should be (debatable if -30 or -20 nerf, either prolly good)
If you are unsure just ask a couple more ppl to compare the 2

I feel like static gm and master kind of overlap to a certain degree, gm feels slightly more difficult but most definitely not the jump in difficulty there should be
If master stays the same, gm should be around 127-130 for 1w3ts and 170+ for multi click for it to feel like the same jump that you can see in other categories

I don't think we ever said less scenario are better, it's certainly easier to have things balanced with a smaller scenario pool, and also gives more time to make all the included scenarios better. You can have infinite amount of scenes added if you wanted to, but at some point adding more is redundant.

Less targets is typically more difficult since you have to make larger motion from one target to another, whereas with more targets the average distance you need to move from one target to another is smaller.

I think less targets is actually more randomness, but it doesn't really matter much
Someone who is good will score good regardless of that randomness

I understand what you're trying to say, you want the display number on the sheet to be pre-calculated so that it averages to be the number at the top. It just doesn't make sense to display that when it takes harmonic mean of those values, so it would actually display incorrect numbers if those would be the displayed energy numbers.
