cool. do note the pin. the list tends to be limited to around 20 bases (at times even less), even though there are a lot more bases that have been uploaded. even after having uploaded your base, the most reliable way for players to show off their bases is to be in-group with you. Gleam and I pretty much have to upload bases daily if we want them to always show (like is the case of Gleam's NMSCord Central as an example)

it may depend what platform you're on. my fps got bad in settlements on Xbox One. but on Series X, it's just fine. if you're on PC, maybe ask for help with video configurations that may help? if so, you can try pinging bkay201#1943 (maybe take it to our #964865106334875698 thread under #nms-questions if it's a long troubleshooting discussion).

i also know that disabling multiplayer can help (but for hub meetups obvz that's no help).

the other thing is what kind of base you build or you're visiting. are there parts that take a bigger hit on performance? for sure. glass windows are one example. as well as a lot of lights. you can try getting tips on that in #nms-base-building (if you want to improve performance for your own base)

Please note that this list is always very limited so over time, you'll realize that re-uploading your base so it shows in the list could become a futile endeavor. The most important thing to remember is that you upload your base after having made an updates you'd like other players to see. And that the most reliable way for other players to see your base is by them being in-group with you (or at least being in the same lobby/instance at the same time).
