I’m sorry you’re running into all of them. It isn’t usually this buggy, I think this update needed some troubleshooting. I myself have had my fair share of the bugs, but the experience is still totally worth it for me though. Good luck with the reporting, hope they get sorted for you.

So I can't say that I totally did it because, after a few attempts I was pinpointing one particular area and Lo and behold a base name appeared. Called Midnight Sun!! LOL
I went to the area did the tests and it worked. So I found an area away from that base and planted my own.

yeah. planets in NMS have two different kinds of poles, just like planets irl. there's the magnetic poles, which are the basis for compass readings and the planetary coords you see on your analysis visor and ship displays; there are also the geographic poles, which are the points on the globes around which it rotates. conceptually, it probably makes sense to you that the sun would stay at the same position in the sky throughout the entire day around the geographic pole, considering it's the point of rotation. Planets in NMS can have drastically different pole positioning, much more than the Earth.

I'm told that planets in NMS in very early versions of the game actually did rotate in space vs just having the sun's position in the sky change, which is something i would have appreciated, but evidently it disoriented many players.

when on a planet the skybox already rotates, visually it shouldn't be much different. i can't see it being nauseating. it'd just mean that the locations of the real things in the sky (space station, other planets) would move too. and i think you could put the planets in real orbital positions without increasing distances too much. or just make the pulse drive faster 🙂

lol nah, with how ODS has been working out, unfortunately you're not getting to see all the bases we have in that system. there should be over 150 bases but ODS has been giving us issues returning a very short list. we've submitted reports to HG in hopes they can look into it.

ironically, in Permadeath and Survival, Distira although Tropical, it has hyper aggro sentinels. so i had to build a base at a sentinel pillar to hopefully make it easier for players to disable them sents when they visit that planet

like i think their bases get put lower on some render priority thing

well, normally, when ODS is playing nice, the game can hold around 100 bases listed in the Teleporter. we experienced it when we were preparing the system before opening, while we tested an issue we were able to resolve. but something must've changed in ODS that made the base count drop pretty drastically and it's stayed low since. so folks who want their bases showing have to upload daily.

Freighter class rolls when it spawns. If it isn't what you want you can just check a different one since it's a system freighter.

If you have someone helping you out you can actually have someone wait on the freighter while you check the class and ifb it isn't what you want you fly to a planet get out get back in and fly back up. This usually causes it to despawn/respawn for you and get reeroll

But you can also just pulse around and also reload a save in the system. That said freighter class spawn rate depends on the system economy. That's a T2 economy so it's only a 1% chance

Should work but honestly it's faster to save on the space station before going into the Capitol freighter and reload that save if the class isn't what you want. Not sure which update did it, but you no longer need to fight the pirates each time so it's just flying from the source station to freighter which is close by.

We've had to upload bases daily if we want them to show consistently. We submitted a bug report to HG but with how swamped they are with the update patches, it'll probably be a bit.

Before Desolation update (derelicts, bulkheads), one of the main advantages of capital freighters was the higher inventory size they spawned with

But now I think you can get the same inventory size on system ones as well

They may have MP disabled. Lobbies can also depend on connectivity. A little rng at times
