So the designation you get seems to become locked account wide...and I'm not sure what the designation is even based on. I don't think the questions matter at all, even the first time...I think the game either designates what you are automatically on its own or possibly it relies on data from your account...on my main save I have nearly 5k standing with Korvax, but less than 2k with other races, went to far more Korvax systems, etc...and even before the quiz I most liked the Weaver flags...the closest aligned to the Korvax. So eiher I got lucky with how the game blindly designated my account or looked at data in my account and designated me appropriately.

I haven't even seen anything real gameplay substance from the update or expedition that feels meaningful. The swarm enemies in space are just re-skinned single hitbox ships made to look like a mini swarm from what I can tell, and sure they made the space combat less annoying, but that's pretty much it. Lore and the visualization/realization of it is cool ig, but this was such a short expedition and I haven't been impressed with anything.

Hop around, it will not show on the scanner if it's not in range of it and I feel like range is very short on the multitool we get in the expeiditon

So your best option is to just move around and check scanner periodically

Well yeah but that was a choice. Not a randomly assigned thing where you have to rely on other people doing the quests to actually win the thing. (Though since there's no actual reward for winning other than flags in the Nexus I assume, this doesn't mean a whole lot.)

if you're getting the error of nearby base, i'd suggest disabling multiplayer, save+reload and try again. if still cant, you're gonna have to move - there's another player uploaded base nearby disallowing your build permissions

i didnt bring anything because you dont get into the anomaly until the late game of the expedition, so if you want maybe bring a ship upgrade modual so you can kill swarms easier

most of your crafting will be done on the first planet, so dont really need resources. If you want, bring a combat multitool.

Uh, I just brought a stack. It's up to you. You probably won't need more than 2 to complete it, the exped gives you a few basic warp cores as well.
