if it helps, I have a number of space stations in my list and am at max with all the guilds, so I hop throuh all the stations picking up their gifts, which include various good quality upgrades. you could do this and hoard some and sell others for nanites to buy what you need

it takes some time to get to max rank with the guilds but it's very handy

I only keep the good stuff on my main exosuit and have copys of s tier modules with whatever stats in a base storage that i use for expeditions and put back; never take your very best on the expedition

you could save edit items in but you'd need a record of what was gone. if you didn't have a backup, the info is probably lost

yeah i do something similar minus the max guild rank stuff. appreciate the offer but ill prob pass. first time doing an expedition and didnt know about the negatives. they really need to add a retrieval box or pop up warning disclaimer you lose everythign when an expedition ends (unless there is and i dont remember it)

a bug was found that could cause the XBox version to hang on the pause menu and it's been reported in the Steam experimental branch thread on the steam NMS forums; the patch has to work it's way through Xbox / MS because of that.

Which to me would be the reason it's not out yet

there isn't a need as long as you follow the expedition path the only milestone I think you could would be Uncharted where you have to find 8 systems by yourself and get the first contact for them but you still do not need a blue drive for that

You're supposed to use the myth beacon it'll point out a boundary failure and mark the area near it , go find it's Usually a hollow circle rotating and then once you've found it use the myth beacon again

I'm on run 2 and Kuru Tau and Relland Deran in the Frist system counted for me in this run and first run, On the Rendezvous 2 System Blosal there is a planet that has airless near it's planet name.

Make sure you have the milestone selected and are using your platforms capture key for photomode for it to count

For uncharted you have to go to 8 systems that you discover and haven't been discovered by other players.

The usual recommendation is to ask polo at the anomaly to find a black hole for you, take that black hole to a different part of Euclid and find 8 systems away from the expedition.

I did that one last so then i could finish the expedition and do my inventory management

I believe it’s a bug caused by starting an expedition from an exiting save, in which you expedition tool will copy the sc layout of your normal save equipped tool

This used to be my main Multitool thanks to that bug

btw i found going offline made the unexplored systems task trivial

the end of the year is always an insane farm for anything you want, especially units and nanites
on breach you can also bring home insane amounts of derelict freighter scanners because they are relatively cheap in abandoned mode compared to main saves where the price scales
best way to bring back corvette parts is to just bring a corvette with you, though keep in mind you can do that at any point during the expedition - switch over from the menu or the anomaly terminal and go to your main save, buy the ship back and go to the station to edit it, removing everything it lets you, then trade it out for a normal ship and scrap it so you can repeat this process indefinitely and get SO MANY PARTS for the low low price of what... 7k nanites? the price a ship asks to be copied from the expedition
absolutely insane farming strategy
the catch is that it only works while you still haven't finished the expedition, so you still have milestones left to collect the rewards of
once you collect everything, it doesn't let you switch without actually ending the expedition and fully going back

I traded 8 navigation data to a cartographer for 8 ancient artifact site maps. If it found ruin or plauque I ignored them, if it found monolith I went to see it and then used another to find another monolith. If a map finds nothing and you don't have a monolith marked, keep trying the map over and over until it does find a monolith.

Should have crafted some simple bait...the simplest you can craft makes 30 from 120 condensed carbon...increases the quality of fish...so it ensures you don't catch garbage like boots, and ensures you catch more uncommon than common...I finished it in like 15 minutes using like 20 of those baits in shallow water(under 30u depth).

What sites? It should be monoliths specifically...ruins and plaques do not count.

If the chart finds something called anything but "Monolith" leave it alone, only go to monoliths.

And you only need 3 monoliths, I said you need 5 charts because if they find a ruin or plaque you do NOT go to those and a chart can't find another ruin or plaque until you visit the ones marked(which you should not do) and it would only be capable of finding monoliths...and obviously you should go to and interact with each monolith as it is found.

Yeah, unless you get a second, which at lest used to be possible in expedition saves, not sure if they patched that. But yeah, Normandy will have a solid 96 combined points when it reaches max level at 55 completed expeditions. Core stats are not good but more than makes up for it with two primary stats of +15 which no other frigate can have.

I don't remember if the 2nd one is as good or not...I never really played with it. If you can claim another from the quicksilver bot after you complete the expedition let me know its stats and how many expeditions it has completed. But I never seriously played an expedition save after completing it.

lmao...that's why it isn't counting. You NEED the Myth Beacon to get the data from the monoliths. You buy it for 80 quicksilver from the quicksilver bot and THEN you go to monoliths.

If you're following a guide it can take under two hours. If you just jump in blind and have to figure everything out yourself it'll usually be 5-8 hours. On average I do expeditions on day one before any tips or guides are out and I usually take about 5 hours to complete an expedition.

Hello. I am trying to salvage a freighter. I have salvaged all of the cargo and all that remains is recovering the logs but I can not get the mechanism to activate. Two players have floating communication stations very near to the log terminal. Does that have something to do with why I cannot access the terminal? I am pretty sure what I am trying to access it the correct thing.

going away from expedition route will eventually get you the undiscovereds, but sometimes it just takes a bit of patience.

remember many players will have the idea of black holing, and black holes are the same for all: if one player goes through a black hole near expedition route, any other player that takes that black hole will go to the same system.

Breached expedition, I learned the hard way that some milestone requires you to select it AND the mission under the log or it will never register.

It turned out that some milestone creates 2 mission or more under log so you are more likely to have the wrong one selected automatically.

You have to be the one to discover 8 systems that no one else discovered; some people like to get black hole coordinates from polo at the anomaly, then take the black hole, and then find 8 systems after; i'm saving this one for last

Expedition 2 Beachhead (2025) Tips

Phase 1:

• All Hands on Deck: Note that you have a repair kit in your freighter core inventory that you can use to fix the wiring loom subcomponent of Atmospheric Control Unit tech.

Phase 2:

• Interstellar Rescue: Ignore any out of range errors: Use 1x Emergency Planetary chart obtained from Farseer. Be sure to have the milestone selected.
• Pilgrim: Jetpacking (or melee boosting) around does not count.
• Fallen Giants: Use 1x Emergency Planetary chart obtained from Farseer. Be sure to have the milestone selected.
• Icy Veins: Rdv1 system (Loparve) has a suitable planet (Wudleso Gmma), use rarity bait e.g. Mealworms, only fish with rarity=uncommon or higher with "icy and frozen waters" in description count.

Phase 3:

• Grand Tour: For this milestone, we need any planet/moon with Solanium, any with Rusted Metal, and any with Frost Crystal on their resource lists. Rendezvous 1 and Rendezvous 3 planets count for this milestone, and there's another in Rendezvous 2 system.
• Called By the Stars: You can send a frigate on expedition and immediately abort by interacting with its fleet command room, it will count.

Phase 4:

• Uncharted: Have to actually discover systems (just the system, no need to land on any planet). Make sure you visited the station of the last rendezvous system, then get black hole coordinates from Polo@Space Anomaly, then go through it, then take a warp up or down from that position at the current max range of your ship - that should take you into undiscovered areas. Alternatively, going totally offline will make all systems undiscovered.

Phase 5:

• Historiography Lesson: Make sure to have Historiographical Dosimeter on exosuit cargo; Get 3 alien charts from the Space Station Cartographer, use them all (spam use through any errors till it adds the next marker). Any Rdv system planet will work; Visit them all, pick the relevant option to progress milestone.
• Collective Consciousness: Myth Beacon is purchased from Space Anomaly Quicksilver shop, switch filter to Other Curiosities. After deploying the Myth Beacon according to the tooltip directions, move a little away so you have a good view of all around you.

It's makes a sub save within you existing save file but after you started the expedition you can go go back to your primary save after you warp once and regain access to the anomaly.

Some people only start expeditions from a separate save due to how unstable they can sometimes be and the possibility of save corruption; you still get the account rewards from the phases that way but anything else will not transfer over

You'd want to follow any back up guide for NMS game saves and find that where ever NMS is installed on your steamdeck if possible

IT would look something like this "mnt/wherever this is on steamdeck /SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/275850/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Roaming/HelloGames/NMS/"

Then you'd look for a ST folder with a bunch of numbers, open it and copy the save files in there to a different location.
