ok, those you can absolutely scan if they show. so I would try that, just leave the hatch down and fly 300u, stop, wait a minute, see what shows up, if red dot then turn the ship so they are visible out the back and scan those suckers

So I’ve never needed to report a base in order to build my exocraft platform before to reach an expedition goal…. I think I did it right, I selected it from Quick Menu, reported it, it asked me to take a screenshot, I did, I hit “Continue”, and then I saved, quit and reloaded. Then the building was gone, but I still couldn’t build, so I looked to see if there was another base in Quick Menu. There wasn’t, but there was still the same one I’d just reported. So I reported it again, took the screenshot, clicked Continue, saved and reloaded. The building hadn’t reappeared, but I still couldn’t build my nautilon platform. So I went to the Quick Menu and the same named base was there, so I reported it, I took the screenshot, I clicked Continue, I saved, and I reloaded. Then I repeated this process several more times and took an hour break and tried again. What am I doing wrong?

The building I could see disappeared, so something happened when i reported it….

I would not reload the save. quick menu, report, if you still can't build, quick menu, report, do that until there's nothing left to report and see if you can build at that time

also uh multiplayer off may help (do that first)

any system shows a region name ni the galaxy map for its info. the derelicts in a given region tend to have the same sort of hostiles. so note the region name and then see if you can get to some other one... hey you're supposed to spacewalk a black hole right? maybe don't choose the r4 one, find one on the map, use that, see how that region is. you might have bad luck and get bugs again, but maybe not

some of the systems on the expd route are purple star systems

any given save needs to have purple systems unlocked via a specifci quest, to see them/visit them

so if you haven't, you're not going to be able to get to those bases

might not even show up in the available list

Weird thing, I went to R5 then back to R4 to do the black hole as the final thing, and R4 was no longer a black hole system. There was one one jump over though, and it did not take me back to R5. Instead it went to a system where apparently a lot of other expedition players went based on the bases I saw.

some people have trouble with scanning 8 of 9 creatures, if you know how to move, get a fresh batch to spawn in and yo upay attention to time of day/location info in discovery tab you'll be ok

There's not a lot of creatures there I think the main keys are: 1) find a fairly flat-ish field for the ground creatures to spawn, 2) the birds are diurnal, so either wait for day or fly to where it is day if you have to, and 3) I think one of the water creatures won't spawn if the water is too shallow. But you do have a little room for error...the planet has 9 creatures and you need 8 so you can miss one.

When it come to fauna spawns the "rare" does not actually mean they spawn rarely...they spawn quite often and quite fast. The only thing you really have to fear is the word "underground"...those do refuse to spawn most of the time.

It's a reskin because it's an expedition and because they intentionally wanted to make this variant a very common catch that only happened in the expedition...the common component is so people don't have to fish for like an hour or whatever to catch it and expedition only so that it wouldn't ruin fishing in the main game because every other catch would be one of these things. So Child of Aquarius remains as it always has and this variant can completely take over expedition waters.

You have to claim then from the anomaly on your normal save. If you just import the parts from expedition you don't get the plans. Go to the quicksilver bot, talk to it, and claim all the corvette parts from there.

Mine looked like this, You can stick all of the ship parts on to your ship and "copy" it in to your main save for 2800 nanites, same if you get good multi-tool rolls. when you get back to your main save you unlock the blueprints to build unlimited Atlas themed parts.

I’m in the ship break away mission, trying my first time to collect corvette part after activating the debris scanner. I’m on VR. I stepped out, scanned, and used my mining multi tool to collect something, which I didn’t catch from the screen reading. Now I see a blue gear icon when I scan, but can’t interact with anything. I cannot validate the mission to advance in the expedition. Any idea why I’m stuck?

I feel like this is a safe place to share… in order to finish the expedition on time while traveling I stood in the only corner of the room where the crappy WiFi just barely worked for nearly an hour using cloud play on a cross play save. Lost connection 3 times including right at the end. But I did it and never felt prouder to call myself a gamer. Cheers to you all.

The actual code for the expeditions is already on your machine, the only thing that is required is the config from the NMS servers, so it sould drop same time for you.

I like doing the adventure too, but I do like having discord to help me out if I feel stuck, or just for good tips etc so I don't feel like I can't adventure due to milestones being difficult to complete

At this point I know this game's idiosyncrasies so well I can always figure out what's wrong. The fact that I play offline solves like 90% of the issues before they happen, lol. All the other times it's just the same manifestation of some other similar bug I've hit a million times before.

There are some bugs that you absolutely cannot get around though. For those I can hack the expedition config, lol.

Guys I think I'm going to do Beachhead just to get the Golden Vector back in my main save. Because I previously had it and discarded it I can't just claim it again from the bot but if I start a new expedition from the main save, claim it in expedition, I can then import it back into the main save. It's not a good ship...like at all. But it's pretty and it struck me recently I don't have a ship stripped of all tech that exists purely for me to cross galactic centers with. I used to uninstall all tech to do that...but now that we have cold storage, why not have a dedicated ship stripped of all tech just to cross galactic centers with, and why not have that ship be the Golden Vector?
