3rd was quadruped wasn't it? If you highlite the milestone and build the proper plinth - only fossiles suitable should show up for placing on the plinth.

You can leave the area - create a restore point - exit out come back in and turn off mulitplayer and online services and you should be able to land most anywhere. All a matter of how much effort you are willing to put into it.

Make sure you have all the required parts for a complete fossil, then return to the dig site. You don't need to interact with anything. If that doesn't work, then it might have to be reported as a bug.

There has been issues of that where it disappears in this expedition. Just be sure to turnoff multiplayer and reload if you haven't, then report the bug if it persists.

The game does give you 40 Bionic Lures as a Milestone Reward, but sometimes the RNG cannot favor you, so I ended up using no lures after 12 Bionic Lures and it gave it to me after the second cast.

Artifact chart on phase one is what you need to get pass that stage if that what you mean, to look for bones you need to be on right planet that has ancient bones as a “trait”

Sort through all your inventories, determine what you want to bring back to existing save.

Carefully follow these steps

1. Interact with Expedition Terminus in the Space Anomaly.

2. Add up to 8 tech + 24 cargo items, then exit/back out of terminus interaction.
   The currently equipped Ship and Multi-Tool will be available to copy when interacting with Expedition Terminus back in the existing save.

3. Enter+exit ship to update Restore Point save slot, then pause, go to Options menu, press Return to Primary.
4. Again interact with Expedition Terminus: take items out, copy Starship and Multi-Tool.
5. When done, enter + exit ship to update Restore Point save slot, then press "Resume Expedition".

I did not know: If you defeat the sentinels on a planet, you also defeat all guardians. You can now disturb them, take the stone and they will not spawn, just vanish.

Okay, back from the tabletop gaming session. I've thought of a way to get from a landing point to the objective without taking hours, I'll go drop into the Anomaly and get the blueprints for the Minotaur, and use the jumping ability to cut the travel time. Maybe that can make it less tedious.

Also, I made a little fishing hut with a solar panel for my fishing, so I knew when it would be night to increase my chances for one of the fishes

You can examine the solar panel to find out when the night will end, or start, it's handy for fishing for specific catches

For doing my run based off of a save, I found it easier to bring enough cash to buy a freighter, build a storage, and then collect all 80 bones for the step in phase 4. By then I had enough bones to build all the required displays, lol

Also, I said it a while ago, but I was barely at 400u of the 3500u required for excavations. Using "Flatten" on the manipulator cleared the rest FAR faster than using the increased sphere of the normal function

IIRC, Dig site 5 is teeming with animals, so that should help. If you aren't already have the creature pellets selected in your quick menu so you can throw them on the ground - this helps attract groups of animals if they are nearby.

Not really. This isn't the type of mod that you really NEED anything. Maybe some Bionic or Nocturnal Lures

A bit of cash, and a freighter inventory teleport tech can be nice, along with the atlantidium freighter drive

New saves convert to normal saves at the end. They're not connected to your main save unless you start them from the anomaly in your main save.
Everything in a new save expedition will stay when it converts to a normal save.
The staff is unlocked and available for all your saves at the Quicksilver merchant in the anomaly.

I noticed. It was only my 2nd expedition. The first one (Titan) I did from main save expedition terminal.
I just thought this would be "cleaner". I did not realise that a lot of resources and rewards could not be transferred/copied to main.

Maybe I will do it again with main save. Who knows...

Find a spot where there are a number of different creatures wondering around and drop some creature pellets. When they gather up to eat you can grab the screen shot.

@ashen shore You are ready at birth - it's a great intro to the game mechanics. The expedition gives you everything you need to progress. If questions - spend a few minutes on YouTube watching a streamer like Jason Plays run it and you will feel very comfortable after . Many of us start new saves (characters) to do each expedition so you are perfect

you don't actually need to go to any other galaxy. going to a lush type galaxy would increase the probabilities of lush biome planets, which are the "earth-likes" you and most people want to look for when they think "earth-like".

in short, any planet with "star bulb" on resource list is of this biome. they're more common in yellow star systems (type !faq-starcolor in #bot-spam for more info). once you unlock star bulb in catalog&guide, you can locate planets - 1 at a time - by locating that resource.

(also note that #nms-questions is the better suited channel for general nms questions, #nms-expedition is more about expedition game mode itself)

yeah, but not all stations will be of the same guild ofc; it's actually 1 guild per galaxy region - so all you need to check is 1 station per region till you find a region with mercenary guild. they're on the furthest back to the right on the observation deck of any non-outlaw/non-abandoned station

I sold most of my tech, but when a milestone give you something like the aqua jets it's a pretty good sign you'll be using them. I think the other tech I kept was the environmental protection modules, since I figured they meant I would be visiting planets of those types
