Mark planets on discovery page not available? [Question]

So okay I got an update on xbox and today I saw in patch notes

"Planets in your current system can now be marked from the discovery page, adding a marker to the starship navigation systems."

Yet I literally don't see any options to mark a planet in my current system on the discoveries page.

Am I missing something here?

1% Volume, and Telamon is louder than absolutely any other audio cue. -___- [Bug]

Am I the only one experiencing this? I'm on PS5.

Is there a real reason to not have an audio slider for Telamon when it is now very clearly on its own channel? Every other audio cue is properly at 1%. I can and do play with the volume off most days, mostly due to several sound bugs that have existed for a very long time, but... seriously, I'm just wondering how this is acceptable. 9 years and plenty of complaints about this...

One single "SFX" slider? Why?

Regardless of lore, not having the option to turn off (or at least turn down) Telamon is downright irritating. There are a variety of sounds that could really use some tweaking and/or sliders, but I think the suit audio is a high-end, repeat offender. Hello Games, can you address the reasoning for this if not outright fix it?

No more ship traffic [Bug]

Last night the majority of stations I visited, as well as Freighters, had plentiful ship traffic.

You'd visit, ships would dock, you could trade with them or buy their ships.

Now, nothing.

I've system hopped dozens of times, to a variety of points, nothing.

I can see ships outside flying around, but they're all in groups and refusing to visit the space station or Freighters.

I'm on PS5. Last night prior to the update, I had plenty of traffic almost everywhere I went. I had no idea it was even possible to have zero traffic. It's now freaking me out.

Expedition 18 Digsite one bugged [Bug]

The first digsite technician is floating mid air and I cannot talk to them. There are at least 4 other players here and they can't interact either! There is a huge hole under the technician too not sure if that is related.

Space Station Landings [Discussion]

I’m not sure if this is really a question or a discussion topic, but has anyone else noticed their ship consistently landing at the back of the space station instead of closer to the front or in a random spot? It’s been happening consistently for me, and it’s making me wonder if Hello Games snuck in a change to ship landing in this recent update

I just realized: HelloGames will keep updating No Man's Sky for as long as they exist as a company. [Discussion]

That is so cool and truly a precedent. I think that a lot of community here is still not aware of this and plenty yet think that updates will stop at one point. No, my friends, they will not. There is absolutely no reason for them to. An with the advent of ai, it will be so easy to, at one point, translate all of the code to another engine if this one becomes too outdated. If I was a betting man, at this point in time, to bet that No Man's Sky updates will keep coming for as long as HelloGames exist, would be the easiest bet to make.

Exosuit voice ignores SFX volume and is extremely loud after Archeology update [Bug]

OS: Arch Linux
desktop environment: xfce4 (X11)
Audio drivers: Pipewire 64 and 32-bit, Pipewire-alsa
(Steam) Compatibility: Proton-GE

I returned to No Man's Sky after some months and the performance has got even better and the game has crashed only once or twice.
But right after the Archeology update my Exosuit volume became extremely loud and seems to ignore SFX volume. Even at 0% the volume sounds like 80%.

Usually I have system volume at 10-40% due to unrelated reasons. So 80% volume is extremely loud in game.

I have a question about farming nanites. [Question]

I was watching a video on a few ways to do it but there's a way that seemed pretty easy to me. Is it efficient to farm radiant shards to refine for nanites? Since 1 radiant shard gives 50 nanites, I should be able to make a lot fast. I'm just wondering if it's the best and easiest way

I agree! The collector in me wants to hang on to the neat sounding skeletons/fragments, and I might start a permanent collection in the future, but... yea... having them on display would be even better!

And, maybe, the mounted items would keep their flavor text! So then when you look at or scan the item, you see its description. Something like that would be so awesome.

I guess all heroes don't wear capes.

Everything was fine until the update [Bug]

I just got super into this game and have about 100+ hours with zero issues and now this update has me crashing randomly and I just lost a few hours of progress that I saved repeatedly during.

1st is there any way to get the progress back?

I spent the better part of 2 hours building a base and mining setup and then crafted about 300 million units worth of stuff and it just rolled it back to hours before. It said something about a cloud issue and now the only save I have is from 4 hours prior.

The thing is I saved repeatedly with my beacon in the base so why is this the save its going to and is there a way to find this recent save?

2nd - wtf do I do about the crashes? I updated drivers, reinstalled the nvidia app in case and still it crashes and is making the game unplayable if I have to now worry about hours of progress lost.

Expedition: Relics —>Best items to transfer from main save to expedition save [Question]

can anyone give detailed insights into what items to transfer over from main save to expedition save for this new Relics expedition. Looking more for tech and/or inventory beneficial/required to get off to a fast and strong start.

Of course, I always port over several stacks of highly valuable items to "get rich quick" for the expeditions, and I'll always usually port over a copy if an S class hyperdrive system, dissonant drive, to allow for earlier access to high tier Star systems blocked by lower drives. I also tend to port over a copy of an advanced mining laser, a tech package for the Personal Refiner MK2, and several stacks of runaway mould to quickly rack up manures for an in-expedition purchase of a quicksilver starship.

But, what unique items/stacks of items will we need to have for this Relics expedition just to get our Starship off the ground, and to complete certain harder acquisition milestones?

It sux you only get the chance to transfer items once to your expedition save (at least I think that's right?).

Base Construction [Question]

I'm building a base using those premade chambers. When i want to connect 2 of them using a stair(ramp) it doesn't connect perfectly. I can't change the angle of the ramp. If so if I want to adjust the height of the chamber how can I do it. When I'm hovering with my mouse it just go around . Is there a option to change height like in camera mode for this purpose? Or any other suggestions will be appreciated🙂

Exosuit voice is blasting my ears. [Bug]

Ever since the latest Relics update the exosuit voice, no matter which save or which notification, is like 50x louder than it has ever been. I play on 3% music volume and 3% SFX volume, even when turning these to 0 the exosuit voice is SO loud it is actually making it unable to play. Having a random storm roll up in a jumpscare because she's so loud!

I can't find anyone who's been having the same issues and the only way to fix work around it is to mute my entire game through volume mixer. Can anyone help?

A question about bones and inventory... [Question]

Okay so diggin the update (pun oops) but here's the thing, and I must be missing something... but how are we do deal with these hundreds of bones and such inventory-wise? Do we learn them somehow after we get them, then can just sell them off (and they stay added to some internal catalog that we can pull from to craft our "bone creature" exhibits on our ships/bases etc? Do we add them as wonders or something each time? (then sell them off?) ? I mean, or is it that we literally have to have them in our storage chests and/or inventory at any given time to "use" them?

Sorry if its a dumb question, but I see these bones just piling up in my inventory and it's not making much sense. Do we need a "bone bag?" haha!? Or, what am I missing here?

Starting tips? [Suggestion]

I've played the game last year for a couple weeks but I got a bit tired of just getting fuel and going around scanning things. It's the basics of the game, for sure, but I want to ask to the community if there's something I must do and I probably missed/didn't care about. I know one of the most loved features of this game is being able of doing whatever you want whenever and wherever you want but a slight path to follow (aside from the main quest) really helps me a lot. bone creatures? [Question]

I know the update is really new so maybe no one knows yet, but I thought i'd ask! I've been to about 10 different planets with ancient bones and have thus far seen no bone fauna. Do they only appear in certain areas, have to be triggered by digging for fossils, really rare, only show up on missions, etc? or am I just having bad RNG? are the bone creatures like the robots where they only come in a few types that all look broadly similar, or will I see many varieties on them? (really hoping birdy bone creatures exist!)

I wanna start a new game with a beginner friend. How do we start a game and set off in the same location? [Question]

Yesterday we lost an hour just to figure out why we were in different locations after loading into each other's freshly created game. He is new to nms with 0 games played. Had him start the new game from the 'join friends' menu. I joined his session and selected a fresh save slot. After loading in I was on a planet with no hazard deteriorating my shield as I'd expect, but he said he was overheating where he was. I couldn't see him even even though he was in my group. My conclusion is that he was on a different planet altogether. Why is this the case? Can't I just start with him on the same location? Or should I ask him to send me his save file and load that so we start at the same coordinates?

The play with friends feature seems overly complicated and not intuitive at all. Any insight is appreciated. I've played 400+ hours solo without much issue but I seem to be lost on the MP / group feature / friends on steam features. BTW we play in VR on quest 3 over airlink.

PS I have a pre order version and he doesn't.

Ive seen on google that apparently you can drop your staff or multi tool on theground but i cant figure it out?

Is it an outdated information or is it simply just a lie?

as in title. I can’t wait to get onto the expedition and see all the new stuff in relics, but my game hasn’t updated and when I check for updates it says it is the latest version, even though i’m on 5.58 and not 5.6.

Are sentinel repair bots bugged? [Question]

More often than not one of those little sentinel repair bots fucks off to about 500 metres away making it impossible to finish sentinel battles. My base is littered with Walker remains but one stupid bot ruins it because the search timer runs down before I can get to it.

Is it a bug or is it designed to annoy?

The game is running terribly!!! [Bug]

I'm playing on an RX 6650XT and a Ryzen 5 3600. The game is constantly lagging and stuttering. It's unplayable. I tried all the possible fixes.

settings the priority to background processes

I'm not even running the game at high settings. I'm playing it on enhanced, with low reflections and FSR.

I'm not really even trying to fix it anymore, I'm just frustrated.

New Update Just Dropped, Are We There Yet? [Discussion]

I just started playing No Man’s Sky a little over a month ago, logged 300+ hours, and I’m still having a great time. I listen to podcasts while I play and consider this game Minecraft In Space. It’s exactly the experience I wanted for my use case.

The above trailer is 11 years old and preceded the famously disastrous launch. Did we finally get everything that was promised? (The animal behavior in this trailer looks incredible!) What’s missing and what would y’all like to see added to the game?

If you’ve been playing for awhile then you’ve probably been through many ships like me. I rarely fly the expedition ships, I love my interceptors but nothing touches my customs , the song of the wind (fighter) was the first I built could only be better if it hovered. "Hey, I've been playing for a few weeks now, and at every space station, there was always a lot of coming and going.

But since yesterday—zero. Not a single ship spawns at a space station anymore; I'm always the only ship there. Is this a known bug?

Creature Creator [Discussion]

With the new update and skeleton displays I can already see the scaffolding for something like a creature creator that lets us build and customize our own creatures. All that would be needed is animations that would largely exist already and perhaps the ability to add colours. What do you think?

Relics Update Issue? [Question]

Shared save from PS5 to PC [Question]

Hi friends, I have been playing for a long time on PS5 and would like to migrate my save to PC. I'm happy to buy the game again from steam, but I don't want to start again from zero. I know I could just send myself the items from the playstation account to the PC account but I'm mostly interested in having my bases which I spent a lot of time personalizing. Is there any way I can share the save between PS5 and PC or even just migrate it and use it on PC only?

I went to play the new update after a month of having the game uninstalled and my records are gone?

My planet records and everything else is fine, but fauna, flora and mineral are gone.

"At War" should get its own conflict level or have T3 conflict level have unique content. [Suggestion]

Whenever I see "At War" on a system i just know it sounds too exciting to be true because all it means is theres an extra 2 pirates when you get intercepted by them and nothing more akin to actual "war", This is another aspect HG could potentially tap into and perhaps even adding fighting NPCs on the ground with multitools.

Perhaps they should update T3 conflict systems to make them more seem like a warzone between regular beings and outlaws, which on the players discretion, the player would have a choice to interfere with the conflict by participating in its events to aid either side or simply steering clear of trouble should it come.

"At War" systems could have interesting belligerents that could range between regular people, sentinel authorities, outlaws and even biological infestations. One war would be sentinels fighting outlaws, another war would be regular lifeforms resisting biological horrors.

"At War" systems could have unique events that consistently get brought to your attention as a dynamic event with a location marker, such as: Militant/Resource outpost raid on planetary surface, player would have the choice to intervene and either aid the defending side to repel the assault or aid the attacking side to destroy the outpost Ambush situation on planetary surface, a group got ambushed by the other faction somewhere on a planet, the player has the choice to interfere by helping them repel the ambush or help the attackers in this ambush. Freighter battles, the player would get notified of a freighter battle happening at a certain location in space, warping to it would have a massive freighter battle with over 40-50+ NPC starships fighting Settlement takeover, same as first one but the defenders would be infinite waves and you have to succeed in raising the attackers flag to complete the event,...

I have to delete everything in my models folder in order to play in VR [Question]

For the last few weeks, when I attempt to play No Man's Sky in VR, I get an error when it tries to load. I found that if I empty the contents of my NVIDIA/NGX/Models folder, the game launches and runs with no issue, but I have to do this every time I play. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is there a graphics setting I have turned on that I should turn off?

Starting expedition 18 [Question]

I actually asked and got an answer in another post but I think the post got taken down before I could see it. 🤷‍♂️. So I went to the anomaly last night and to the expedition terminus but all that was there was expedition 17 Titan, which I've completed. I'm pretty new sk for sure am missing something, just don't know what that something is. Anyone able to help a fellow traveller out?

My Radiant Pillar BC1 is different from everyone else's [Screenshot]

Has anyone noticed a slight difference between their own beginner ship (the Radiant Pillar BC1) and others in the Anomaly?

The triplet of engines on my RPBC1 have a slightly smaller rear opening than the others I see parked at the Anomaly. At first I thought the others were “replicas” people had built out of nostalgia. But every one I see has the same slight difference.

Has anyone been able to access their bases created during the Titan Expedition once the expedition has been completed? [Question]

I can't. Have seen others with the same issue. When I go to a portal on either the Anomaly or a space station, the 2 bases I created during Titan Expedition are not listed as an option to warp to. So far, I have: Started (and completed) the Titan Expedition off my main save from the "Expedition Terminus" on the Space Anomaly. Completed the "Stellar Multitudes" questline, unlocking Purple systems. Outfitted both my main starship and freighter with with Atlantid Drives. Have warped to Purple Systems with both my main starship and freighter.

So have any of you guys been able to visit bases you created during the Titan Expedition once completed? If not, is this a glitch, or a deliberate choice by H.G.? It sucks to think I invested so much time to create 'throw-away' bases =/

Fauna Records Wiped After New Update [Bug]

Title self explanatory. Does anyone know how to put in a bug report? I've seen other posts recommend it for other issues but I've never considered doing it before. Unfortunately this is a big issue for me as I've spent the last 10-15 hours fully discovering all fauna in my discovered systems. Now most of it is just... gone. Do you think we might get planetary rotation soon? [Discussion]

This has been high on my wishlist since the game came out. It would do wonders for exploration and atmosphere (imagine seeing planets rise and disappear over the horizon). They could keep the rotating skybox to set a 'standard' rotation speed for the sun, and then have planets rotate around their axis at different speeds to create beautiful moving skies.

I always understood the reason for them taking this feature out was that players found it confusing to navigate solar systems. But now that we have the ability to mark planets, this should be no concern at all.

Do you think the dev team is paving the road for rotating planets by adding this navigation feature?

I have few questions regarding Expeditions... [Question]

How fast can you do expedition if you start it in your normal save and bring all the necessary materials from the save with you?

And is it better to do it like that rather then starting new save like I was doing. Because I noticed you can get some decent upgrades throughout the expedition which you can possibly bring with you back once you are done?

For me, I just stop playing on that save and while I do take the rewards from anomaly, these usefull upgrades and nanites go for a waste?

Issues with the latest update... [Question]

Is anyone else almost completely incapable of playing the Relics expedition? The game is barely working for me. Can't talk to npc's, can't access some of the plot stuff, npc ships can't land... it's not much fun in this state. Anyone else having these issues? Or know of a fix? Playing on ps5

If Korvax existed in the Fallout timeline, they'd totally work for Vault-Tec... or maybe The Institute, once they took it over from the Gek. [Screenshot]

First-Spawn Gek would totally have ran the Institute similar to how Father runs it and probably would have done some similar experiments, forcing the Korvax to assimilate into Vault-Tec until they could eventually find someone to either infiltrate the Institute or kidnap enough First Spawn to "reprogram" them.

Frame drop/lag after update? [Bug]

I play on a PC through Game Pass. My specs aren’t phenomenal (AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS Radeon RX7700S )but they’re certainly capable and up until this update. It was very rare to have any lagging or frame dropping. It seems way more consistent now. Maybe it’s the server being rushed because people are excited. Between this happening and my partner not being able to play the new update on the PS4 I’m pretty discouraged for the time being I know that hello games is on top of most things, but is this an issue for anyone else?

New Armor [Suggestion]

Love how the new Relic Stone armor looks, but for an expedition and update mostly focused around bones, i feel there should have been a set of Skeletal armor, plus the new staff kinda seems out of place with the Stone armor.

Maybe if they added Fossil milestones it could be possible for Skull themed helmets, like they did for the fishbowl helmets.

Maybe in a future Halloween update they would consider some bone armor and skull helmet cosmetics.

Monochrome Planet [Screenshot]

I finally picked up this fantastic game literal hours before the Relic update, and stumbled across this, frankly, incredible planet that makes literally everything (including the player) red and grey. Even after jumping around from system to system, this is the literal only one I've seen like it... and honestly it's what hooked me on the game

Pimp My Glide: Gek Edition! Fabricated Fighter Starship / Euclid [Screenshot]

Portal Glyphs in Pic 2, i'm almost positive I used an S Class Reactor Core but if the slots aren't the same then try A Class then upgrade it, you also need to use all the same parts at the same Space Station in Euclid.

NOTE that Light Yellow looks better and darker for gold then Dark Yellow for some reason.

I was going to do something similar with the "Long" Cockpit on a Fighter but gave up so I encourage someone else to try it.

White and Gold, Driod, Rasa with L shaped Supercharged Slots.

🦴fish troubles [Question]

I'm on a poisonous deep water planet (ligart prime) 45 fishing bases on this mother, I burned thru all 40 of my Bionic jigs, caught 15 octopus, and NO BONE FISH.

the rest of this expedition rules but the fishing really sucks you out of the whole vibe.

NPC ships not landing [Question]

started playing like a week ago everything's been great. last night i bought i freighter and now no npc ships will land in space stations or any trade stations they just stay circling. ive restarted my game multiple times, ive gone to old saves, started a new game nothing is has fixed this issue so far. everything else is fine but trying to ship hunt and this is making it literally impossible.

Can't find Atlantid Drive [Question]

I am fed up. I have tried everything to find this one upgrade and nothing is working. I've tried warping repeatedly, I tried multiple different systems, I've tried doing it in both galaxies, and none of the vendors are selling it on the space anomaly and that's where the game is telling me to aquire it. HELP MY DRIVE IS BROKEN! [Question]

So I started doing the expedition yesterday afternoon and today I was hopping back on so I could finish it up and play some Assassin’s Creed: Shadows! Ps4 user here. I have been unable to download relics update. It keeps telling me no updates available. Yet there are patch notes from Hello Games on the site and folks posting about it. Is anyone else having this issue? Am I just dumb and the update is not actually live yet?

PSA for abandoned mode players: space station cargo boxes respawn [Information]

The latest update gave abandoned mode players a new way to access valuable items such as inventory upgrades, tech upgrades, and emergency broadcast receivers by opening storage boxes on space stations. You can find three of them in the room that has the teleporter.

I just noticed that these containers will reset over time, allowing you to loot them again. I went to a new system, looted the containers, and then ran a derelict freighter. When I went back to the station, I was able to open them again for the same items (two mutitool slot upgrades and an emergency receiver). Not sure what exactly triggers them to respawn, but I tested a simple save/reload and that didn't do it.

Since you seem to get the same items each time, it's worth building a base in a system that gives a specific resource or upgrade that you want more of.

new content gave me a little jump scare [Video]

I love the new things Hello Games are coming out with, they've definitely re-peaked my interest lately.

I was fossil hunting on the first ancient bones planet I came across, and then I awoke the guardians. Sorry the clip doesnt show that part, but it was somewhat hidden amongst the bones at the fossil site. And as you can see that I've unlocked the Vigilance Stone right before the combat starts.

Also I love that they give you polished stone, need a lot for crafting a sweet relic base!

Struggling to find a Good Planey [Question]

Hi guys, fairly old player returning to the game after a long time. I'm struggling to find a decent planet to make base on, everywhere I go every there has deadly storms, constant radiation or sentinels that desperately want me dead.

I feel like I'm missing something, do you have any advice on what to look for?

Does the system type effect what kind of planets I can find? What's the planet tag i should be looking for? Do the major race in the system effect the kind of planets available?

Weird Construction Problem. Help? [Question]

So I'm working on a base rn, and I have a part where a walkway is basically built hovering above the ground (free-standing, but connected to other parts of the structure using the usual snap-to feature).

What I'm trying to do is use wall parts to connect the structure to the ground (and slightly into the ground wherever the elevation changes) - like a wall foundation, basically.

The problem I'm running into is that I can usually snap one wall (or quarter wall) to the bottom of the walkway, but if I try to snap additional pieces under the new piece, they just won't snap at all - so there's just this gap in certain parts of the wall foundation right at the bottom where I can't snap anything and have to leave empty space.

What's crazy is that I don't have this problem with other areas of the build that are also built above ground/in the air. I can build extra stuff and snap it right into the ground to make wall foundations.

It's driving me nuts. Has anyone else run into this? How did you solve it? Help!

(Also, let me know if this problem needs clarification; this is as clear a way as I could think to explain it.)

Did I just screw up my main save? [Question]

Historically, I’ve made an alternate character to do expeditions and then just delete them upon completion.

I just found the terminal in the Nexus to bring tech and gear on the expidition. I uninstalled my best gear and brought a bunch of supplies.

Upon returning to the Nexus, I retrieved the gear and saw I can make my ship and multi tool with nanites.

I only have one save listed on the main menu though. Did I just accidentally delete my settlement, fleet, maxed inventory, and all my alternate ships?

Rendezvous 5 issues [Question]

I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem but for the 5th site when I go to the galaxy map and select the expedition path there’s no line from system to system and I’ve been looking by hand for about an hour and a half and I’m pretty close to giving up. I’m pretty new and this is my first expedition so I’m not sure if this is intentional or what. I appreciate any help!

Ancient Bones - what am I doing wrong? [Question]

Hello, Traveler. I've been to four separate dig sites and have uncovered all of the Ancient Bones at each. However, after I've interacted with the Ancient Bones (holding the E key), the bones poof and nothing appears in my inventory. I have not gotten any of the fossil pieces needed for the Milestone to progress.

Are the fossil pieces rare? Am I just unlucky? Is my save bugged?

How does ship building work? [Question]

Hey all, I’m a returning player from release and played a little of Foundation and just came back at the end of Expedition 17 and have been loving being back with everything they’ve added. I have been scrolling through Reddit recently and seeing some cool custom ships and I tried to figure out the ship builder but couldn’t understand how to make anything. Do you have to buy a bunch of ships and part them in the Space Stations? Or can you buy the parts? I know you have to buy the ship cores but as far as getting parts to make them I’m a little unsure of. Coming back to this game from so long ago I missed out on a few newer mechanics they put in and I’m interested in learning them. Any help is welcome.

Expedition bug? [Bug]

Is anyone else having this issue? I made it to the first dig site, and there are holes in the ground under the gek next to the tent, and I'm unable to interact with him. And the other guy I assume is there nearby is completely invisible, and I cannot interact with him either! I attached a screenshot to show what I'm seeing. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

My PS4 isn't showing the Relics expedition [Question]

I went to play NMS yesterday to start the expedition. There was a previous power outage, so I had to repair my storage devices. I saw there was a system update, so I performed that too. The system is fine now, but when I went to play NMS, it didn't have the latest update. I put it on text mode overnight where it usually downloads updates, but the update still wasn't there today. The expedition terminal in the anomaly shows that I completed Titan and I should check back when there's a new expedition. Why isn't Relics downloading on my PS4?

Should I get a refund? [Discussion]

I've seen No Man's Sky for some time and found the whole idea of it interesting but never broke down and bought it. With the recent sale on Steam, I thought, "Why not?"

I'm about an hour in and I'm just not really digging it. I don't mind sandbox survival games. I have 100s of hours in Minecraft not to mention the time I've spent just wandering around Red Dead and Skyrim. So it's not necessarily the lack of a big, deep narrative.

Honestly, I feel a little bit lost and while I've repaired my ship and that sort of thing, I don't really feel like I know what I was doing or that I'll work out what to do in the future without a big glowing prompt around it.

So, to the faithful of this game, before I hit the two hour mark, am I right in thinking it just may not be for me?

Pedido de Socorro [Bug]

To com 16 horas de gameplay e pelo primeira vez eu me deparei com um pedido de socorro perto da minha base, daquelas em que sempre tem uma nave quebrada e o piloto dela aolado.

Ao que parece, eu fiz essa "missão" bem rapidinho, concertei a nave dele e conversei com ele, em seguida, ele partiu da nave dele, foi aí que eu notei que o ícone de transmissão do pedido de socorro ainda tava no meu mapa, apesar de ter claramente terminado a tarefa.

Nisso, eu peguei minha nave e me afastei, só pra me aproximar do local denovo, onde a nave quebrada reapareceu, mas sem nenhum piloto, e quando eu interajo com a nave, ela me dá o mesmo diálogo que me deu antes de falar com o piloto. Ja tentei procurar soluções ao redor do lugar que a nave está, mas não encontrei nenhum outro jeito de fazer denovo essa tarefa. Já como o piloto que tava lá não reapareceu juntamente com a nave.

Alguém que ja passou por isso ou sabe oque aconteceu? Me ajudem.

Old player considering to make a comeback [Question]

I bought NMS several years ago on PS4. I'm not talking "1.0", last time I played it had already received some of the massive updates which made it a cult: I had built a couple of "settlements" and owned a "capital ship" with several smaller ships inside (bear with me if those and others I'll write in quotes below are not the correct terms but it's been a while), but I think that was it. I've read that a lot of stuff has been released since then, so I was thinking of replaying the game on my PS5, but I feel a bit overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of changes I've heard about. So, since I stumbled upon this sub, I thought I'd ask some questions, hoping to clarify some of my doubts. I assume everybody here would answer YES to question number one, "is it worth it", so I'll skip it and jump to two :)

  1. I remember some "story mode", albeit kinda short and unimpressive, before I started the "sandbox mode": is that still a thing? If so, has it been improved as well or should/could I just ignore it and skip to the latter, if that makes sense?

  2. Given that, as I wrote above, I never experienced any feature more recent than "settlements", "capital ships", "land vehicles" (so no companions, robots, and anything after that, to name a couple of things I've read about) how steep will the learning curve be and how much time would I have to spend on the game to get "on track"?

  3. I've seen "expeditions" mentioned around, are those limited time events or will they always be available after release?

  4. Finally, should I bother importing my PS4 save on PS5 (if that's a thing, but I did it with other games so I suppose it is) or would it be better to start from scratch, given the huge amount of new features since then?

Entire Freighter Base deleted and replaced with a grow room [Bug]

I am really wanting to get back into the game, but about a year ago the game broke my freighter. I had a huge labyrinth of rooms, had an outside garden with hundreds of plants and stuff... now when i get on my freighter and go through the door it's just a grow room. My 9 storage rooms, all my frigate rooms... tons of stuff all gone... Any way I can get it back?

Relic Expedition staff switching names? [Bug]

Just finished the new expedition and acquired the rewards after completion, including the new Basilisk Crown staff. But I noticed that once I redeemed the new staff, a staff that I already had equipped while earning the new reward (the Alexand-w staff from titan expedition) switched names with the new basilisk crown staff from the relic expedition. Anyone else have this glitch happen to them?

Should they take fishing milestones out of expeditions ? [Discussion]

Honestly i hateeeeeee the fishing milestone, imagine working for 12 hours and the only good thing in ur life is going home and playing your favorite game , but then you get a block in your face with that stupid fishing milestone. I wasted 2 hours trying to catch the bonefish and i couldnt , i fished more than 67 times , switched locations, only fish at night and deep water, still couldnt get it done , frustrated to the core and cant do any more expeditions if there is a fishing milestone involved, its not fun and I hated every second of it . Pleaseee for God sake Sean dont ever put it as a milestone again . Am literally tired and just wanted to have some fun time .

The perfect addition for Relics [Suggestion]

So I’ve been playing the new update, roaming around the surface of a planet hunting for bones. I got to the end of my session and couldn’t help but think, “do you know what would make this perfect? If I could set up a little camp site for my guy”

Think about it, a little tent that acts as a save point, logs you can sit on, a campfire that acts as a nutrient processor. I know you could set up a base and make an approximation, but that’s a lot of work, and careful positioning and glitch building. Nah, I just want a deployable campsite, or campsite parts, so I can let my guy recover from his many hours spent walking the dunes in search of long dead creatures in some degree of comfort and tranquility.

First time doing an expedition from my main save. Wait...is this now my MAIN save?! [Screenshot]

I'm so bad about starting new saves after each hiatus. I hadn't played for months, saw the trailer for Worlds II a few weeks ago, and decided to restart again.

After redoing Atlas' and Artemis' lines for the umpteenth time, I was rewarded with the Autophage mission. This was a huge WOW. I love them. I love their lore and their mystery and their post-apocalyptic vibes. I thought I was just rushing to get to purple systems, but here was another beautiful mountain to climb first. Between them and the subsequent Atlantid questline, I was falling head over heels for this game all over again.

One week later and a new Expedition comes out. Okay, I thought to myself. I did that one biology/fauna based one ages ago and that was fun (how many years ago was that?!), let's give it a go. I puzzled for far too long about whether to start a new score or not, but knew that if I did, I wouldn't go back to the one I just started. So I stuck it out and started from the Anomaly.

I've now spent the last two days in comedic bliss making cursed and cute animal fossils, despairing about bonefish (btw, "deep water" is apparently at least 50u, so don't fish at 40u for an hour like I did for these guys), and waiting for animals to poop (I waited 5 minutes on the last checkpoint planet and those bonekitties are constipated, so I had to move on to... browner pastures).

What a wild ride. I've played this on and off since launch but EVERY time I play, I find new things to do and see sights that no one else that will ever get to. And every time I come to this sub, I learn helpful new tips and see guides from some super great people.

Here's to many more anomalous views and well-timed poos, Traveler-Friends! I think for once, I'll stick with this score and see where it takes me next.

However, the more we actually see LNF assets and mechanics, the less impact LNF will have on the players. With each addition of LNF content, both games become muddied together and lose a bit of their identity.

Consider the new relic monsters, ruined structures, giant squids, and floating islands. These were designed for LNF(allegedly) and integrated into NMS for testing purposes(allegedly). When I boot up LNF for the first time and begin exploring, eventually coming across some of these shared assets, because they were in NMS first, I will associate them with NMS. Essentially, my reaction as a player will be, "hey it's that thing from NMS," or, "hey I've seen that before."

The more assets from LNF that come to NMS, the more instances of that diluted experience occur. One is scifi, one is fantasy. Now, clearly fantasy elements are diluting the scifi experience. I doubt that clearly scifi assets from NMS will be in LNF, however.

While I think it was a good idea to implement some LNF assets into NMS for testing purposes, I believe it dilutes the experience of both games as the assimilation continues.

Is the resolution the only thing that make stars better quality visualy? [Question]

The picture doesnt completly do justice to what i see in game but we still see its not as sharp and subtil like i can see in some video or image. Also i know my screen resolution is low 1600x1200 but i cant get better for now..

So am i stuck with ugly big stars with large white aura around them until i upgrade to a better resolution or is there another way to tweak that in the graphic setting?

FOR THOSE THAT ARE NEW AND CONFUSED!! people complicate the way to get the secret race. start the mission awakenings until you reach the purge, then get an echo locator, go to a camp, talk to the broken robot,(it will give you the blueprint) then craft scan harmonizer, scan and you will get they who returned complete it, then you get a polyphonic core (go to multitool section and click it and it gives you coordinates), find the outpost, and go to the synthesis terminal, get the appearance sh1t, then build a Appearance modifier, and thats it. i hope this helps you. i stayed up for 2 months trying. so please, lemme know if this helps. (WARNING) CANNOT GET IN CREATIVE, ONLY IN CUSTOM!

Resytis Planetary Exocraft Circumnavigation Survey Entry 1 [Fan Journey]

Hello, my name is Mon0-Φ of Lost Nikiye, and I have been given the mission of circumnavigating Yunthanda Delta of the Hakenin-Chto System (Resytis region) completely via exocraft, driving northward until I reach my starting encampment.

Every day I shall update everyone on this great en-devour. Day 1 I did very little research. I wanted to make as much distance as possible to start off. The Yunthanda Delta highlands greatly halted progress compared to if I were driving on a flatter planet. Several times I was forced to dig the exocraft out of caves, but nothing that truly impeded progress. The first real obstacle was water.

I have little experience with exocrafts, so I was not sure if it could enter water with it. I was made aware of a small land bridge, though it was incomplete. Even if the exocraft did take water the distance was too short to possibly risk drowning.

Luckily, the Roamer is watertight, although very slow when submerged. Long distance seabed travel is possible, but as a last resort. For the next few hours I proceeded to island hop through a shallow sea. The sea life of Yunthanda Delta is annoying and caused issues with exocraft seabed travel on multiple occasions, but they were no longer a problem once I reached the next landmass.

Satisfied with today's progress, I decided to rest at the nearest stop. While not the safety of a spaceport or a colossal archive, this emergency camp made a nice end to a long day. I plan to make more progress tomorrow.

Cull creatures mission... [Discussion]

Wtf are these missions. I've just landed on a planet and brutally killed 12 completely harmless animals. I remember playing the "no Russian" mission on cod back in the day and it didn't faze me, but this... I feel like a piece of shit. Not just the adults, but the children too, I killed them all. And the sounds they make! 0/10, distressing as hell. (I'm not even a vegan or anything, but man I hated that)

Basically you will need to find a sentinel tower and deactivate the sentinel, this will like it said deactivate sentinel but will also instant kill golem

Position not saved in multi-player. What does this mean? [Question]

We just started playing. My friend hosts and just got hyperdrive so he's in a new system. I don't have a base yet and wanted to construct one in our original system.

When I log into his server I load into the system he's in, rather than where I originally was. I really really don't like that function at all.

Is there a way so we can all freely log in the game and save our locations? If not it seems weird, like we can't all three have access to the world in the same way.

Ik I can get hyperdrive somewhat quickly or ask him to return to our original system first but this seems pretty annoying to have to do. I wanted to stay in our original system for a bit. How does this work?

Null is stuck behind a crashed freighter [Question]

So I'm loving this game, I took a break from the main quests to just do some upgrades and side quests and when I go to resume null is being blocked by this huge crashed freighter that I'm sure wasn't there before! Does anyone know if I can maybe go to a new comms tower somewhere or do I just have to start over? I've tried leaving the system to get the planet to reload but no luck.

Game crashing when opened since new update [Question]

I can't open the game via Steam on my PC since I downloaded the new update yesterday. Every time I try to open it I get a white screen and an error code reference token. I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and checking for any updates on steam or for my graphics card on my task manager. Any suggestions?

Relics Exp 18, no hyperdrive and cannot progress [Question]

So, I always tend to try and get better and better ships. So I started with a small C class explorer with not a lot of cargo or tech. I quickly found an A shuttle (broken obviously) but with lots of space in both areas. I immediately salvaged the old ship and started working on the new ship. Fast forward to Stage 1 step3, which you have to leave the currently star system for. RUH ROH, the new ship has no hyperdrive and none of the ships you can salvage have one either. I really don't want to have to start a new save to finish this but have no idea how to remedy the situation. I have continually asked if anyone can summon the Anomaly so I can hopefully learn the blueprint, to no avail. I have even tried fabricating a new ship from parts but that one doesn't have hyperdrive either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Lesson learned T-T [Discussion]

So with the new expedition for some reason it let me claim the rewards for dig 3,4 and 5 and foolish me just decided to take it and do the rest of the phase 2. Now that phase 2 is done and I wanted to go to the dig site 3, it won't let me populate the expedition route T-T. I will have to restart the expedition on a new save because I did this one on my og save file. Good thing I didn't bring too much important stuff from my primary save file but yea.. I am le sad. I have to take a small break from the frustration and restart in a few days.

Don't be like me and be tempted!! T-T

Expedition 18 help [Bug]

Hi everyone!

I have been doing the expedition 18 like everyone, but I had a lag where I was blacked out and it unlocked every milestone The Dig: I to V. Problem is, it's like it made me progress too much in the expedition and when I open the galaxy map, I don't have the route to reach each dig site anymore.

I'm not sure what I can do to finish the expedition now that I realize that this lag happened, I'm wondering if anyone might have a solution? Since then, I can't get the milestone where they ask for a complete fossil.

I tried going back to my last savepoint, but it was already too late.

In Stellar Multitudes still super bugged [Bug]

I will be sending this as a bug report every patch now as this issue is still present in the game even after multiple "fixes" in the patchnotes. Previously I was unable to progress the mission "In Stellar Multitudes" due to polo not offering the correct dialogue option to receive the reality anchor blueprint, after a somewhat recent update now the game seems to assume I have the blueprint when I do not, and the mission icon spam blinks and beeps on the bottom right corner of my screen when I have the mission selected. It says I have to construct the anchor but I have no way of doing so without the blueprint so I still cannot progress. This is as of the first patch for Relics and started when Worlds part 2 was released. I just want to see the new planets man it's been months and it's still broken, I've seen multiple other progression blocking bugs for this quest be mentioned in recent bug reports from other people as well.

Who is Manager Uyksik and what's he doing under my ship? [Question]

Ever since the Relic update I keep spotting this marker for Manager Uyksik - either in deep space in which case I cant get near him. Without the pusle drive I fly towards him forever. With Pulse I rocket past him and cant find him again - until he mysteriously reappears 5-10 mins later.

Alternatively I've seen the marker several times on the ground under my ship. Whats going on here. Is it a glitch? A weird mission I've picked up? Is it just a symptom of the simulation breaking down?

This has been my experience trying to play NMS the last 3 days. [Bug]

Hard locked to 5FPS.

I've tried everything I could find to make this stop, but even the old methods I used to try with this was less common don't work. This isn't a hardware issue nor a software issue. Everything is up to date. I've already sent a zendesk report to HG, about this. Twice.

R7 7700x, 64gb of ram @ 3600 MT/s, 3070 Ti, and the game is installed on an M.2.

Anyone have any ideas, cause I just want to get back to exploring the universe again...

Possible dreadnought farm? [Suggestion]

This is in Euclid. So the current galaxy is screenshot to port to. It is called Yuxiangl. I've been bouncing back and forth between this galaxy and the pirate system below it for the past hour and I've gotten a dreadnought fight every warp in both the systems. Exp 18 best start [Question]

First, thanks to those who helped me figure out how to get 18 started. Turned out there were a few things in the inventory I had to clear out. That's done, now I was wondering what I should be taking with me to start 18. Exp 17 was my first one and I went in blind and with empty pockets and it took a bit to get going. Just wondering if there is some particular materials and quantity I should put in the thing to take with me to start with? Ie 200 copper, 4 metal sheets etc. Thanks!

I just bought this off a korvax NPC inside the anomoly...? [Bug]

This is a bug right.

I was wondering around handing out happiness when I saw a guy standing next to a ship. I gave him happiness. Then I noticed another guy, I got closer and thought to myself "that guy looks a lot like an NPC". I held square thinking it was just a visual glitch and likely nothing would happen but I was wrong and it came up with the whole trade, make offer for ship etc etc (he was stood next to a starboard runner (I think that's what they're called, I can't remember. The red ones with the cool jets underneath from that one expedition)

Anyway, I clicked on make offer for ship because I would love that ship and instead it displayed this squid Ship. Which is hilarious because I've been looking for one for a while now.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this

Just finished me first Expedition. Question… [Question]

Hey y’all. I just finished my first expedition. I went with a new save since the info I what to transfer/do wishes using my main save was rather overwhelming.

From what I understand, I can get my rewards (armor, etc) from the quick silver guy on my main save.

But can I transfer over any of my inventory? I have tons of bones, etc. I’d like to use on my main guy. I tried going back to the expedition terminal, and it just tells me I completed my expedition, please wait for the next one.

Did I screw something up? Or do something wrong?

I know I can redo the expedition my main guy, but if I don’t have to, that would be nice…

Managed to save from a corrupted save. [Bug]

May have been a day one player, or at least very early. I know I played into 2019, as I had a couple starter saves from there. But I had so much going on in my life, that were more important than playing computer games.

Now that things have settled down, I purchased a new laptop, and wanted to rejoin and replay some of these games, including NMS. Launched the game upon installing it, and found my Triton waiting for me in the space station. Exited the station and became completely lost, as I had forgotten the keyboard commands. I finally came back in yesterday, and found myself fighting sentinels in a little village, the usual ones and purple ones, not realizing that the purple ones were the ones that I should be killing, and quickly.

When sentinel starships started attacking me, I noped out and loaded a save, just after I killed all the corrupted ones. So I was able to get the overseer's office built and working on the warehouse. I saw the portal there and engaged it, discovering that my first base was still available. Warped there to discover that the buildings were there, as a gardening base. I built the base way before power systems were added to the game, and while the modules were updated with conduit, no power source meant it was a one way trip. I could build a biogenerator, but could get the hang of wiring. Which meant reloading the settlement back to one mentioned above.

So finished my office again and was waiting for the terminal to be completed. I dashed to my Triton to perform a save, then exited the game. Upon relaunch, the screen stayed white for more than a few minutes, until it eventually bombed. Relaunch and eventually the white became a very lagged, until the game bombed.

I don't know what got into me, worried that I'd lose my 317 in-game hours, but I kept loading the advancing but still corrupted save, as I creapt towards my ship, getting a little...

Core to Core Jumping “Fixed”? [Question]

Is core to core jumping still working for y’all?

I’m trying to make it through all the galaxies and am 60 galaxies in, but after the latest update the core to core jump technique is no longer working for me.

This was a “feature” (though I’m sure the devs saw it as a bug) where if you travelled through a black hole in the same game session that you jump through a galaxy core then you’ll pop out in the next galaxy near the core of it.

Hopefully I’m just doing something wrong and they haven’t fixed this.

I have no quests with Analyst Entity Ryin being mentioned in my log and when I turn to look at it, it disappears. About Relics. [Question]

First of all i love that we can build skeletons in bases now, someone i know litteraly mentioned it less then a week before Relics dropped.

But does this mean the ancient bones as we used to know it, is completely gone? Like finding valuable skulls and whatnot. Im a huge farmer for rare stuff. Coming from thousands of hours in borderlands 2 and 3. Building relics and trying to find possible rare ones will be fun. But are we still able to go out and find the high value fossils?

There are-

110 unique heads

12 torsos

10 leg types (shared front and back)

11 tails

These translate across all five skeleton types. In case you're curious that comes out to 1,452,000 million possible animal combinations PER TYPE, for a total of 7.26 million possible animals across all 5. 5 bones per animal..... that's only 36.3 million individual digs assuming you get exactly enough of every kind to pull it off.

Best fuel that terrain manipulator.

Starbirth problem [Question]

Can anybody help me with the Starbirth quest. I am at the end of it almost..my egg is cracking and I have all the parts but when I use the portal address I come out on the other side and nothing happens. The quest doesn't update. I've traveled there by portal from my current system and I've also tteleported there using other player bases but nothing seems to move the quest any further. Am I missing something? Please help!

Well, if there are two or three things I've always wanted in no man sky that I think are missing (but that's my opinion and it doesn't take anything away from the beauty of your creation) it's this :

A fishing staff?

In the expedition I'd picked up my Atlas staff early on from the Anomaly. When I got the new Basilisk Crown staff it replaced my Alexander Wu staff (Atlas) with the Basilisk Crown look, and when I switched back to what it said is the Basilisk Crown, I have a fishing rod. I haven't looked at it on a planet yet, but it won't render on a station, the only one that does is the Alexander Wu Atlas staff according to the name, and the image of it is the new Basilisk staff.

Existing save expeditions [Question]

I have only ever done an expedition on a new save. What happens when you start it on an existing save exactly like from the anomaly? I noticed it ask you to pick some tech and items? How exactly does this work? I dont want to ruin my 100+ hr save but want to try it with my main char. Are there certain techs or items I should pick to take on expedition and do I loose access to my freighter etc?

NPC Starships not spawning [Question]

Since day one I haven’t seen any NPC ships landing at trading outposts or star ships. I can’t find any helpful info online because I tried the reloading after exiting my ship and I am very confused cause obviously I think it’s a bug of some sorts maybe. Paradise planets became full of sentinels? [Discussion]

So my base was in a paradise planet but all of sudden, there were sentinels everywhere, and not only mine but a lot of other planets had the same thing, more specifically paradise planets, it seems like a lot of planets became infested with sentinels which is not very pleasant. Expedition 18 Field Agent Bug [Bug]

Hello y’all! I’m currently experiencing a bug with the Senior/Principle Field Agent + Master of Bones milestone. I was able to complete both Junior and Associate Field Agent fine, but when I logged on today, I found that the game wasn’t registering me as holding a “complete skeleton”. How to make marker so I wont forget spot? [Question]

I made some auto mines far from my base on copper but I keep forgetting where I placed it. I used a custom marker but when I come back to my base it’s gone.

Sorry, I’m new.

I can't find the things [Question]

Im a fairly new nms player. I did play the game back in the day during expedition 1-3. It's fair to say this is a totally different game now. I love all of it!! I love it so much. I have no complaints after my 1500 hrs since last 2 expeditions, including some catchups.

Here's my complaint... during expeditions I try to turn off multi-player so I can see clearly my destinations. Even with multi-player turned off during expeditions the screen is so cluttered with BS from base here, base that, "hello, howdy" communication station, save point here, save point there!!! I'm just trying to fucking find the one thing i tried to pin....Ughhhhhh!!!

Im on ps5 and maybe I'm not that skilled with the menu selection screen. But is there a way to make my in-game UI better and not cluttered with bs from other players during my expedition run?

Using an existing save for the new Expedition - What happens to your normal missions? [Question]

I've googled this question, but I can't seem to get a real answer to this question.

If I start the new expedition with an existing save, while I am doing the expedition, am I able to (via teleporters) travel back to my own bases/space stations and do other missions normal missions?

Or am I stuck in the area of the galaxy wherever the expedition takes me and am unable to play my character in my normal area during this expedition?

Fossil display not constantly displaying ? [Question]

So the new Fossil displays are incredibly cool (In my opinion). I understand that once assembled, they provide you with a seperate display to place, but everytime I leave my base and return, I can't see the displays on the stands.

Any idea why they don't remain there ?

Cross-Save beta waitlist [Discussion]

The only thing that annoys me about the latest update. I’ve been waiting for about 2 months now, and I’m sure there is plenty of people out there who have waited longer to be added to the Cross-Save Beta… “Significantly improved compression” of save files, surely you could let a few users at the top of the cue in - which I guess they might already be doing.

(Let me know if you have been waiting on a slot - and how long for - and if you got one since new update, as I’m interested to see if they are adding users as they go)

Physical Copy not working right [Bug]

I bought the new ps4 version of No Mans Sky and i load it in on my Ps5, it copies to the playstation, I loaded it up and no save data. Ive played a borrowed copy from a friend before for ps4 on my ps5, it treats the new disk as a whole different copy of the game, has its own area to start the game and everything, uploading my save data from the other version didnt do anything and I really dont know what to do.

Water Giant planets (not moons around Gas or other Giants) [Screenshot]

Hi,

  2. If anyone has a pic of an actual "Water Giant" please upload it below.

I have been to over 150 Purple Dissonant systems searching for a Water Giant and haven't found one yet. I have found 40 other types of "Giant" planets. I will post those names and some of the screen shots below.

Here was my methodology in searching in case anyone else is interested.

When previewing a system from the galaxy map, Gas Giants are are the only planet in a given system (no other planets, only moons in orbit around the Gas Giant). As far as I can tell all Gas Giants have five moons.

I have never found a "Giant" planet of any kind in a system with any other planets, only moons. This helped my limit the systems worth warping to. The number of moons varies in my searching. So, after figuring this out, I started only going to X/Y systems that have a single planet but any number of moons.

I am pretty sure that every single planet system that had five moons turned out to be Giant. I think that is true for four moon systems too. However, if single planet systems have one, two, or three moons, they sometimes turned out to be regular planets and sometimes Giants (just not Water Giants). I couldn't discern a pattern for these. Also, I couldn't find a pattern with system Temp or other codes either. (Y7p)

Additionally there were four seperate systems/planets that showed up as Giants before I scanned but the name didn't include Giant after scanning. These are: Overgrown Relic, Teraforming Oasis, Mutating Relic, and Fiery Dreadworld (pics included for the last one-Destexigo System).

If anyone has anything to add with regard to Water Giants please add it. And, if anyone has a picture of a verified Water Giant please post that.

How do expeditions work? [Question]

I joined the game about 2 and a half weeks ago. I never went on an expedition so I have some questions, feel free to leave tips for it as well. First, does it basically just create a new save file where you have nothing and you have to do the mission it has or something? And are you able to get your starship/multi-tool in it? I would also like to know how expeditions for freighters work, I have an S-class frigate, a couple A-classes, a couple B-classes, and like 1 or 2 C-classes. And how do the event expeditions reward you?

My Freighter, Wrath of the First Spawn [Build]

I followed a build guide on YouTube about five years ago and built this freighter. Later, an update dropped for freighters that completely broke my freighter base, and most of the interior got deleted. Soon after that, I quit after finishing all of NMS, except for the final mission, as there wasn’t much else to do. I came back today with some random 4 A.M. motivation, edited, fixed, and added to it, and this was the end result. I also missed out on nearly all the major updates. What are the biggest things they’ve added that I should know about since I’m planning on continuing to play? Can I own more than one freighter and can I get a sentinel Freighter? Can I drive a frigate ship? Thanks in advance.

so i hadnt played since worlds part 1, it kept crashing no matter what i did.

i reinstalled and now it plays great but its looks like im playing the switch version of no mans sky, its crashes on high settings,enhanced looks exactly the same as the lowest settings. my ship looks normal everything else is just simple polygons.

I want to find a planet [Question]

I need some help.

I'm looking for a specific planet but I can't remember its name or the portal address.

What I remember about the planet:

-It has a very orange atmosphere

-(if I remember correctly, then it has giant objects, but what kind of object I can't remember)

-It's covered in lots of jagged mountains

-It has water

-When you accepted a 'Destroy an X amount of hazardous flora' mission from the Nexus it used to take the player to this planet

-(If I remember correctly, then the planet also had a lot of player bases on it)

-It has a Triceratops-like stocky animal species that was yellow and blue (if I remember correctly, that was its color)

Important: I accidentally deleted the save file where I visited that planet, just wanted to clarify that.

No Hyperdrive! Am I Soft-Locked? [Question]

Hi all! I'm in the Relics expidition, and saw a beautiful Solar ship fly into the space station I was on. Got all excited and traded in my starter ship for it, without realising it didn't have a hyperdrive installed. Now all the other ships I can find (through distress beacons, in the space station etc.) don't have hyperdrives either, so I can't scavenge one. Is this a bug? Is there a way to craft a hyperdrive somehow, or am I now screwed for this expidition?

Endless Warp Fixes? [Bug]

Anyone know how to fix the endless warp bug? I've been playing the relic expedition, and im in phase 4. i went to the phase 5 system to get the bones for 4, because i wasnt searching an ocean, and now when i try to get back to the phase 4 system i get endless warp, if i try to use the portal that is also endless. I tried verifying my files in steam, and that checked out fine, i went back into my main save, and then back into the expedition, and ive reloaded the game atleast 5 times now, and nothing. As soon as i warp or portal its endless. Last one was over 10 minutes just to see if waiting would do anything.

Show me your completed fossils (please) [Build]

TLDR; building a museum next to the last GPS location on the expedition, I’d love some inspiration for more of the exhibits.

So I’m currently doing the expedition, and I thought it would be cool to build a museum/base by the last GPS location so people can visit if they want.

Obviously I’m going to need exhibits, and the more the merrier, so I’d love to see other people’s fossils. I’m also going to go round and find all the reality glitches to include.

It’ll have a load of landing pads, a teleporter, storage containers, trade terminal, and probably a couple of other bits people can use as well (think I can change settings so people can use refiners).

Was at a space station micromanaging inventory space after getting my Vulture from the Anomoly. Left my room to get drink and snacks and when I get back all of my inventory is gone??? Anything like this happen to anyone? Socks because I had all of the different bones I've been collecting during expedition on the Vulture.

Game using integrated gpu instead of main gpu [Question]

Hello everyone! Please help. I just built a new computer, and the game uses the integrated AMD graphics instead of my Nvidia card. How can I fix this? I can't select Nvidia graphics in the game settings.

In the Windows settings, system-display-graphics, I set it to force use of Nvidia, but it didn't help, the game still runs on AMD.

Any way to sort or filter space station list when teleporting? [Question]

Problem: I'm standing in front of the teleporter, I have visited over 200 systems and have a bunch of T3's that I want to re-visit to trade with. To go to station ABCD-WXYZ I have to find it in the list. Is there any way to sort the list? Or filter it?

I have the names of the T3's written down, but there is no way to enter the name of the one I want to go to. I have to look at tons of them to try to find it in the list. Some of the T3's seem to have disappeared from the list, so I guess it only lists X number and then drops the rest. How do you port to one that is dropped?

Am I missing something? If not, we need an enhancement:

ENHANCEMENT

  • Sort the list alphabetically. That would make it much easier and would be enough to solve my problem unless the one I want has dropped off the list.

  • Filter by type, so list the Gek T3 mining stations alphabetically, that would be fantastic.

  • Allow for searches, so find all stations that start with ABC...

  • Allow for substring matches, so find all stations that have BCD in their names in any part of the string.

If the list can't have all the stations I've been to, this would let me at least find some that seem to have dropped off.

It seems odd that in the 350th century I have a ship that can warp around the universe but I can't keep a simple list of where I've been, and it won't let me tell it where I want to go.

I am fairly new at this game and a quick way for me to make money is to find abandon ships and selling them. In the past I can always go to the Anomaly and summon those ships there then taking it to the space station and sell it. However after the relics update I can’t do this anymore. Is there a way to fix this, because I now have half a dozen broken ships in my fleet unable to sell nor locate. Please help me on how I can locate these ships!

Bird strike “makes me crash” [Video]

Was hunting stuff in the expedition, marking them, hopping in my ship and slowly boosting my way, since my exocraft aren’t upgraded like my main save… shortly after take off, a bird hit me, and my ship had a hard time landing, hit some stuff, before it landed… though i have a hard time landing once in awhile even on landing pads, not sure why, but i usually find if i can’t land after a couple seconds, a quick boost with the engines can fix that… i hope that bird was okay…

HELP NEEDED: No Man's Sky friend failed to be removed [Bug]

Greetings Travelers! I added a player to my friends list (he sent the invite and I accepted), but now I'd like to remove him from my friends list, however I am not able to do so. Whenever I try (I've been trying for 2 days), the following error appears.

Can anyone enlighten me on why is it happening? I can't seem to find much on google, most posts are just from people who don't know how to remove friends, as opposed to getting this same error. (I flaired it as a bug but am not entirely sure that it is).

I chose the impossible, I chose... Rapture! Fully furnished apartments, 5 (neutron) star rated restaurant, cave-hidden mineral extraction and gas collection wings, and much more! It's he only thing on the planet and there are multiple marks so it should be easy to find. Remember though the big daddies can't protect you from the giant sting rays or nautilus that roam the exterior seas however so swim at your own peril.

Relics update - did they sneak in more improvements that weren't mentioned? [Question]

I'm running on a lower end graphics card with mostly standard settings and when I started after the 17GB relics update I immediately thought it just generally looked better - everything looks cleaner

I see some optimisations mentioned in the release notes and I could be just fooling myself but I also just noticed for the first time I think that when running through some larger plants they were pushed out of the way which I don't think I've noticed before. I ran back and forth to confirm it was happening.

Also some possible optimisation bugs like triangular floor panels not fitting together cleanly make me think that maybe there was quite a big behind the scenes update/optimisation of the models and textures which could be helping my low-end card

You cant change sc slots and i really like AS can i have it like my main mining tool and weapon? The Dig II npc stuck [Bug]

So i just got to the dig II and the npc that I am supposed to interact with is clipped into the ground. I have tried digging out the ground underneath him and replacing it with flat ground but he is just bugged out. Has anyone else encountered this problem and if so what can I do to progress the expedition?

New player here, unlocked the old expedition rewards because I have severe FOMO in games, will using the expedition ships ruin the game for me? [Question]

As the title says, I bought the game on wednsday and been having an absolute blast since, already racked up about 10 hours of playtime despite only being able to play in the evenings.

Here's the thing: I have a very very bad case of FOMO in video games so I found a way to unlock all the previous expedition rewards (1-17) because I didn't want to miss out on cosmetics or unique ships. Now I was careful when unlocking the rewards to not claim any of the ships yet since I didn't want to risk ruining the game for me, but I'm wondering now when would be an appropriate time to claim said ships and start using them without completely ruining my sense of progression in the game if that makes sense.

What I'm worried about is if I claimed said ships and started using them, that I'd feel like I've reached "max level" in terms of ships and have no reason to seek out or create any new ones. Is this justified in your opinion?

Or should I stop worrying and just claim said ships and have fun with them?

I realize this is a bit of a silly question but I love this game so much that I don't want to ruin it for myself which is why I've been going in almost 100% blind aside from a couple tips and unlocking the 1-17 exp rewards.

Bonus question: can the expedition ships be dismantled for parts? And if so, if there any way to get them back on the same character afterwards or are they just gone forever in that case?

Way too many bugs - Relics Expedition 18 [Bug]

Played for 6 hours yesterday, a few bugs but nothing major
Logged in today, Phase 2-5 dig sites auto completed - I was still on Dig Site 1 planet inside my base.

Now Phase 2-5 Field Agent (collect a complete skeleton) will not complete. Went to each dig site location (with extreme difficulty) and none of those milestones would complete with the Agents at each location only giving me dialect dialogue

All other milestones are complete without issue, however as the Field Agent milestones will not complete with all bones and being at the dig sites, I cannot complete the phases thus finish the expedition

Has anyone else come across this issue?

I know, I know, beating a dead horse. But it throws my playstyle off so much I've put the expedition on hold until it's working again. Is there any way or place to find NPC traders outside of ships? The minor settlement traders don't have very randomized items and I haven't had any trading encounters in space. There’s nothing I can’t stand more about this game than warping to a new system and being thrown into a freighter fight because some stupid pirates are attacking it. Can someone explain how steam saves work for this game? [Question]

I played maybe 20 hours a year or two ago. I didn't do any expeditions so I don't have any "real" content. Idk, maybe some quicksilver? I downloaded it recently on my steam deck and started playing the expedition. One thing I noticed but didn't think about was that I didn't see my save that I had previously from my PC. Is there any way to "combine" these so that my main PC will get my rewards from my expeditions on my steam deck? Or am I essentially stuck with two separate saves at this point and have the choice of abandoning my PC save or abandoning my deck save and then starting over with a properly synced save?

Bringing Things Over from Expedition [Question]

This is my first time doing an expedition. I'm almost done with it but I was unsure how to bring things back to primary save, and what I could bring over. The main ones I want to bring over are the Basilisk Crown staff multitool, the stone suit I assume I'll get at the end, a jetpack I read we get as well, and the companion egg reward.

Currently building a settlement (plus maybe something for the community) and wanted to know a few things [Question]

Inspired by other people sharing their builds with the community and building even some hubworlds for everyone to enjoy, after all those years since launch i wanted to contribute to the community as well.

As for my quest to find the furthest spot from the galaxies core i have found a nice system with many commodities for new and old players to enjoy or at least to help them along the way. Especially popular amongst myself and some friends is a planet full of salvageable scrap to unlock blueprints and relics to collect or sell. Kinda like the wild west gold-rush-style planet of my system.

The system also will feature one or more racetracks on a low gravity planet for giant jumps - all in the works now.

So my idea is to have a kind of bar or cafe on the outer rim of the galaxy Cantina/Saloon style - wont disclose much as of yet (or before i know more) due to me having a deafening fear of griefers just busting up my shit.

Now to the questions at hand and please bear with me as this is the first project i want to share with a community ever so im obviously still learning.

(A) How big will the settlement get, or better: where can i start building without it interfering with the growth of the settlement, since we cant choose where the settlement will place new buildings? I want to build close to it since it makes the area way more lively with npcs jogging about.. should i just wait until the settlement is.. u dunno.. done? As per my picture i have a crater picked out that would be the perfect overlook - is that a far enough distance from the settlement to start building?

(B) If i plan to make something for the community, how can i protect it? As in somebody griefing the area or just plain old reporting the base and getting it deleted? I plan of sharing coordinates later on wheb some stuff ive...

How can you catch a freakin bonefish?? [Question]

So ... I used 100 bionic lures so far... I am sick of gathering the resources for those so I switched to shadow lure and kept fishing with 90 of those.

I have been on a toxic planet with water that seemed to be deep to me. When I entered it, I couldn't see the ground. Should be considered as deep water, aye??

After those 100 bionic lures I just said, know what, fk it. I kept looking for an ocean planet. Deepest point was 1.1k towards my ship on the surface. It. Is. Deep.

I kept fishing for 90 shadow lures, on the dark side of an ocean planet. In deep water. And I totalled 4 legendary fish but not a single bonefish... I am annoyed as hell and for me this and the get 20 poop from animals were just ridiculous. One mission were you are forced to stay with a huge hard and keep crafting and feeding until they shit enough ... and right after that this stupid ass fishing mission that already took me 3hours without a bone fish.

Please. Any advice on how to deal with this????

Base NPCs [Suggestion]

Does anyone else wish you could add more life to your base sometimes?

I have a base with a little beach front cafe and behind the counter I stuck an Agriculture terminal so it would look like the Gek is the cashier with little plants to make organic smoothies

But my BaristaGek is all alone with no customers... just one of those floaty ball robot companions.

The best solution so far is building a base on a trade outpost or archive.

I don’t need interactive NPCs. They could just wander around within a small area or even just stand completely still. Something to give some life to it. Also it would be fun to name them “WifeGek So and So” or “Spouse Entity Whoever”. I am spiraling with ridiculous now so back to basics. I just want some more life in my cool little cafe.

freighter won’t allow upgrades. [Bug]

i’m so confused and i tried looking it up and searching this subreddit but none of the posts are my exact issue.

i found an A class freighter that looks like mine (i like the way it looks i’ll take an A until i can get an S). i’ve seen posts of people asking why they can’t upgrade and it’s because they don’t have the cargo bulkheads or they didn’t move it or porting easily solvable. here’s my issue. The “add additional storage” button in the upgrade control panel of my frieghter is permanently greyed out!

i have a bunch of cargo bulkheads, so that’s not the reason.

they’re all in my exosuit.

i was able to upgrade my previous freighter a ton with no issues.

i swapped freighters and now i cant upgrade at all.

ive tried saving, restarting, moving, and reinstalling. this was an issue before the update and it persists after. WTF

someone please help me, i can’t be the only one dealing with this problem. thanks in advance

Cross Save ever leaving Beta? [Question]

I’ve been trying to migrate a PS4 day 1 account to ps5 for like 8 months. Every time I try I get the same message about there not being enough slots. The game was ass when I bought it at launch and I struggled and grew my account anyway, still enjoying it. Can't find my submerged ship [Question]

I've only been playing a few weeks (love the game!), and I created a situation that I can't figure out.

I got summoned to a water planet on a distress call, and found a submerged ship. I claimed it, but it wasn't flyable and I didn't have the necessary materials on me. I left it there to go get the materials, returning to my regular ship. Now I can't find it. I got a nautilon with the scanner, but it hasn't found it either.

I tried summoning the ship, including from the Anomaly (as someone recommended), and it won't let me because it isn't flyable. Other than scouring the ocean, is there any way I can retrieve this? It was a halfway decent ship, so I would like to keep it.

Lost inventory in space, am I fkt? [Question]

First off, fk these fishing missions in expeditions. Got so frustrated with it I had to walk away for a while. I neglected to pause it and apparently I died in space. I made several jumps before I realized my starship inventory was now empty. Everything I brought over in the expedition transfer was in the ship's inventory. I can't find the grave in the galaxy map and the saves are all newer than the death. Am I boned?

Constant stuttering/freezing help [Question]

Hi all, returning player here and I have an issue. I keep getting horrible micro-freezes. Walking on a planet or flying around one doesn’t matter, it’s so bad.

PC specs: i9-14900k Rtx 4090 32gb ram Win11

And I’m running the latest nvidia drivers. I originally suspected my controller was the issue but no, even after unplugging it and using only mouse and keyboard it still happens.

Anyone else experiencing these micro-freezes/stutters and how in the world do I fix it? This is the only game I have issues with and my FPS is fine. It’s the stuttering that’s making it unplayable.

Also, fwiw I tried turning on frame gen and that just straight up crashes the game everytime until I turn it off.

Change you game from multiplayer to single player. While in the game go to network settings and change it single player.

Make sure the NPC is standing on solid ground

Build the terrain under the NPC or repair it.

Then you will be able to speak the to NPC to complete the quest.

Died in a volcano, unable to retrieve stuff, now whenever I visit the planet I get extreme heat damage even inside vehicles far away from the volcano. [Bug]

I just wanted to try to get Basalt organically, so I slowly built a cuboid structure to the top of the volcano, But I still ended up dying inside. To make matters worse, when I respawn the sticks my character with heat damage despite being far away from the volcano and inside a cuboid structure I'm stuck in an infinite death loop, but the only way I could "fix it" was to quickly fly away from the planet. But now all those hours spent farming was for nothing. I have nothing.

What is the point of saving if autosave just saves over my death!? this volcano glitch is so dumb.

How does the photo milestone work? Because following the directions, I still have apparently not completed it. [Question]

"Photograph a group of 5 ground animals"

So, let's run through how this works in a game without a dedicated photography tool that instead relies on the console's screenshot button.

Open your analysis visor, find 5 animals. Done. Open photo mode. Done. Take a screenshot. Done. But despite having 5 or more animals at my feet and getting a birds-eye shot to make sure they were all in frame, the milestone still isnt complete.

How does the game detect this? How does it ever know when you take the picture if it's not even a function of the game, but a function of your console?

What about the blue wifi (?) icons or the purple ones (five sided square+triangle on the bottom thing) with a short vertical line with a dot?? Try turning OFF NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency if you are experiencing FPS issues after the recent update [Information]

I've been putting off the new expedition and basically the whole game because once the update hit the game, my FPS dropped from 90-100 FPS to 30-45 FPS for no reason so I decided to tweak some settings and turning off NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency seems to have helped a lot, it may be due to my low-end setup(2060 12GB + i5 14600KF) but hey, at least it works for now, hopefully they fix it at some point.

ships not spawning [Question]

apologies in advanced if this has been answered before, but i can’t get any ships to spawn in space stations, nor trading post. i can literally see them hovering around the space station, the trade post, & at my base where i have landing pads, but none will land. i’ve sat in a few stations for 30+mins no luck. i’ve restarted the game, even uninstalled, then reinstalled, still zero luck. i absolutely don’t know what to do, ive search for the answers, altho i see some experience similar, i never see the answers to fixing the issue. if anyone can help it would be appreciated, thanks travelers!

My Dream Update (Combat) [Discussion]

I would like to start by saying that I am fully aware of how spoiled we are by Hello Games with all of the content they have brought us over the years, and am extremely appreciative of all they have done for us.

There is however one update that would elevate this game to a perfect 10/10 for me. That update is a combat update. I'm talking a complete overhaul to combat, from enemy AI to the way weapons work.

I want to make it clear: I am fully aware that NMS is not a shooter, and shouldn't be; but, combat should still be fun and engaging. Instead, I often find myself avoiding it or getting tired of it because, as of right now, it just feels like more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Here is a list of things I desperately want to see added to the game: Improved Weapon Mechanics

As it currently stands, all you do is shoot the enemy till it dies, which in late game, doesn't take long at all. I'm tired of using nothing but my OP pulse splitter that shreds everything in sight. I want a reason to use the other weapons. On Sentinels specifically, I want to see their armor mean something. Make it to where I have to use a specific weapon to blow off their armor, then switch to a different weapon to attack the now exposed weak point. I would like to see certain weapons excel in different situations, such as range and enemy type. Some weapons could even be useless in certain situations, like when attacking armored parts, exploring underwater, etc.

Furthermore, I would entirely remove the weapon upgrades and just give the weapons a base damage value, fire rate and range. I would replace the weapon upgrades with a sort of simplified perk/attachment system that gives some customizability to each weapon. Improved Enemy Combat Mechanics

Currently, enemies just sort of run or fly at you and attack or shoot at you while you shoot back at them. I would like to see some variation...

Game kicks me out at white screen (PC) [Bug]

Pretty sure the devs said on Wednesday that they patched a pc glitch where the game immediately crashed after logging in but I’m still experiencing the same issue. I open no mans sky on steam or from the desktop, the white starting screen shows up, then a couple seconds later, the game closes completely, its icon disappears from my taskbar and I’m viewing my desktop again. This only started happening after I updated the game to the new Relics version. Any idea on why this is happening? I’ve seen that it is happening to others but this has been happening for 48 hours and I need my daily dose of no mans sky and cannot play it at all until the issue is fixed😔

Ships not landing at space station or trading outposts [Bug]

Hey everyone I’ve recently been getting back into NMS and have been super excited trying to build my own custom ship. After the most recent update I loaded my save and traveled to another system and after 20 minutes absolutely zero ships arrived in the space station, I went to three different trading outpost in the same system still no ships landed. (My freighter was not warped in btw)

I have tried traveling to multiple different systems all with 3 star economies. I have reloaded my save, restarted my game, console, cleared my save data on my console and uninstalled and reinstalled the game and still nothing.

I would appreciate any ideas to maybe fix my issue or if anyone else has been experiencing this issue. Thank you in advance everyone!

A Toxic Redemption [Discussion]

I don't hate No Man’s Sky, I don't hate Hello Games, and I don't hate Sean Murray. I'm glad people are getting more enjoyment out of the game now, and I'm glad HG and SM put in the work to atone for their lies. However, the No Man’s Sky redemption arc has had seriously toxic consequences for the gaming industry and the gaming community. It's great that Hello Games eventually fixed their game, but the way people romanticize this comeback has completely warped expectations of triple A game launches in the worst ways possible. Terrible Precedents: Normalized "Launch Now, Fix Later" Many publishers now EXPECT players to be patient and just wait a few years for a game to be what it should’ve been at launch. Aside from DLC and bug fixes, games used to be finished when they released. Now, an overwhelming number of triple A games are just early access in disguise. Gamers Now Reward Devs for Fixing Messes they Created Instead of demanding some kind of accountability from devs, gamers now just praise and reward studios for “sticking with the game” - as if that was anything other than their ethical obligation after lying to mass audiences. Like bruh, imagine buying a broken car, then clapping for the manufacturer because they fixed the broken stereo THREE YEARS after you bought a car advertised to have a working stereo. Screwed myself with cross save. [Discussion]

I play on PS4 and PC. I plan on getting VR setup for PC but, for the time being I use PSVR and it's my preferred method of playing nms. I wanted to check out the new update so I loaded my save on steam. It saved and uploaded and now I have to wait longer to play on PS4. PS4 is on 5.60 and PC is on 5.61. So, when I try to load it notifies me that my save is from a newer version and can't be loaded.

Ok so this might sound crazy… and I think that this latest patch just made exotic hunting so much easier! [Discussion]

(TLDR: the patch of 27/3/2025 fixed a bug causing NPC ships to not be able to land at stations or trade posts, and along side that ships now take about ~36% less time to spawn in and land at trade posts which saves a BUNCH of time when looking for the right ship! Also if someone could check my math it’d be appreciated 😅)

As someone who’s been trying to find the perfect squid ship for myself (alongside a little side quest to find one of each royal model lol), I’ve been hanging out around trading posts a LOT for the past week or so.

For me the process has been to find a three star OPULENT economy (which increases squid spawn chances from the other three star system types and black markets), find a trade post, and set up shop from a crow’s nest I make on top of the outpost.

By setting up a little 1x1 box with tall windows and a teleporter, I wait for 5 ships to land (the max a trade post can have at once) and use the teleporter to tp back to the base I’m currently at to reset the ships faster than just waiting.

Before this patch each wave of 5 ships took about 35 seconds to land, which would result in an exotic landing every ~40 minutes or so on average, with some outliers being over an hour.

However, after the Relics update presented the game with a bug that would not allow NPC ships to land at space stations or trade posts of any kind, a new patch was released yesterday to fix this issue.

After returning to hunting some more exotics today, I realized that this patch has totally reworked the landing speed of ships in both space stations and trading posts!!

It looks like ships are much faster at selecting which spots to land at, and all 5 are spawning in much quicker. Now the average set of 5 ships takes about 22.5 seconds to land, which takes an average exotic ship hunt...

Trying to Galaxy Hop [Question]

Maybe I'm not doing it right. But why is it so difficult to get to the galaxy core??? I portal as close as possible. I free fly/warp to the closest looking solar system. But it won't let me just click the middle galaxy after that and I have to keep jumping systems over and over following the line until it lets me jump. Am I dong something wrong? Can someone help me please?

Problem with purple planetary System [Question]

I have a problem with the purple planetary systems: in the anomaly I can't buy the required drive because it doesn't exist. I have also completed the Titan expedition and received all the rewards. After completing the expedition, however, the drive is no longer available and I can't travel to the purple system. Does anyone have an idea where the problem could lie?

Relics Expedition - Anyone Get A Cooking Bug on PS5? [Bug]

I was happily processing my flour, cream, sugar, etc. Tossed a fossil bone into the nutrient processor. It processed into marrow. As soon as I took it out of the processor, the game freaked out. A cooking icon (frying pan) along with another icon that I can't identify started rapid fire flashing in the bottom right corner of the screen, accompanied by an annoying sound. It's like a stuck button, except that's not the issue.

Reloaded my restore point.
Backed out to the main menu and reloaded.
Closed the game & relaunched it.
Completely shut down the console/TV and powered back on.

Nothing has cleared the issue.

Cooking is the only thing I have left to do in this Expedition. Because of course. :D

Confirm relic expedition crashed exotic location [Information]

On the new relic expedition, I found a crashed exotic on the abandoned paradise in the opening system.

Unfortunately for me, there was a dude there, so it became a quest instead of the chance to get a ship.

I know ship locations are universal but I suspect/hope that which ships show up as quests aren't.

Can someone go to (-14.96, -145.87) and let me know if you can claim the ship I can't?

Also, I haven't checked the bug list yet, but I assume that no ship can land for everyone else (thus preventing you from buying ships or trading with them)?

Crossplay & crosssave [Question]

I'm frustrated. Likely due to my own incompetence. I'm trying to play NMS with my daughter. She's on the PS4 and I'm on Steam on PC.

How the hell do I attempt the versions to get matched? It's like they can't release the same version at the same time. Now normally I wouldn't mind but I bought 3 licenses for this game FOR this multiplayer feature and it's not realistic. With the version numbers never being the same... we can't play the same save file and be in a group.

Again, this might be due to my severe incompetence but I just want to be able to play NMS on my PC, and pick it up on my Switch. I've given up on that EVER happening because the version number never lines up, except for like right now ironically.

Anyone have any tips for me? or do I just throw a fit?

With the new patch out, I was curious. Are the museums strictly cosmetic, or is there another benefit to them? By that, I mean can you get Units from visiting NPCs or anything? Crazy idea: What if the Light No Fire planet existed somewhere in the No Man's Sky universe? [Suggestion]

Hey fellow Travelers! Long-time NMS fan here, super hyped for Light No Fire. I've been thinking about something wild that probably won't happen but...

What if Hello Games connected both games in the ultimate crossover? Imagine this:

[The below assumes you own both games on the same platform]

Somewhere in the vast No Man's Sky universe, there exists a special planet. Maybe it's hidden behind a specific portal address or requires a special questline to unlock. When you discover this planet and begin your descent through its atmosphere... BAM! Light No Fire loads up, and you're now playing in that game's fantasy world!

Then when you're done exploring the LNF world and want to head back to the stars, you could simply fly upward past the atmosphere, and NMS would seamlessly load back in as you break into outer space.

There would never be an "NMS version" of the LNF planet - just this perfect handoff at the atmospheric boundary between both games. Your character, inventory, and progression would need some kind of conversion system, but Hello Games has shown they can accomplish amazing technical feats.

Think about how cool it would be to: - Travel from sci-fi to fantasy in one continuous journey - Have your friends guide you to the LNF planet in multiplayer - Organize community expeditions that cross between both games

Would this be technically challenging? Absolutely. But if any indie studio could pull something like this off, it's Hello Games.

No starships spawning at all 2025 update [Bug]

Ever since the most recent update (archeology), no starships have been spawning at trading posts, space stations, nor my freighter - at all. This has been going on for about a week and I’ve tried things such as switching starships, re-logging, save beacons, etc.

I also noticed, at the same time, a strange blue exclamation mark on one of my starships. It has a new name every time I enter a new system. (I have no active missions except progress towards the galactic center and base computer archives.) It never goes away.

question about a planet(?) tied to the artemis quest [Question]

so last week, i finally decided to give a kick for the main questlines. so when i got to the part where you go through a portal the first time. when i got on the other side(the one where a "breach//breach//breach" message appears), the planet i was on was stunning. it looked like a hexagonal exotic planet, but the hexagon trees had this very rainbow shiny look, which drastically contrasts the black metallic i saw on the only other planet I've seen of that type in free roam. i would've thought that i could explore it later after meeting the atlas(i think?), but when i got back to free roam i was on a basic nuclear planet. none of the planets in that system seem to be the one i saw on that short cut. is it a biome? a storylocked area? an actual planet i was somehow warped away of? does anyone have a clue if thats an actual planet type that you can discover?

Stuck in the Expedition [Question]

I’m a bit stuck right now on the Milestone The Dig 3. Early in the save I went and got a Dissonant Spike ship because I really like those. The issue I’m having is I now don’t have a Atlantid Drive. I checked my original ship and there isn’t one either. Same with all the upgrades I’ve gotten from the milestones. I know I can build it but I can’t get Indium and I’m not sure how to get living glass. Am I missing something or have i locked myself out?

A-Class Royal and rich ship system [Information]

Found an A class royal here. Marked it with a comms on the royal and an A-class sentinal ship. Save beacons are harmonic camps, which one has an A-Class sentinal pea shooter as well.

Planet is dissonant-temperate and has strong gravity storms. Very fun to fly around on, and pretty awesome base potential.

i bought the game recently to play in vr but when i finally have the free time to play the game is not working.

when i try play it, it keeps on freezing and then steam vr fails so i need to restart it even if i manage to get to the menu and enter a new game it will work couple of second and then freeze again and steam vr fails again i cant even start a new game i can barely get to the menu. i set all settings to low and still no change.

so what should i do? i don't know if the problem is the game or steam vr

Boltcaster not firing Metallica Elements? [Question]

Hey guys, I just bought the Angle Beam Mark XIII and in the boltcaster description is says:

"The Boltcaster reconfigures the Multi-Tool to supercharge Metallic Elements, firing them as high-velocity projectiles capable of causing extreme damage."

But whenever I fire it just fire the normal rounds and doesn't use any metallic elements. I tried cycling through the firing modes but the only one available (on right click) it's the Paralyzing Beam.

How should this work?

Abandoned Mode - Anyone know how to get the Atlantid Drive blueprint? [Question]

Just started a new Abandoned Mode run after the latest update, since the Release Log noted that purple stars were unlocked by default. Problem is, you still need the Atlantid drive and I can't seem to track down a way to get the blueprint. I've checked the starship terminal you can build at your base. No joy. Checked at the Anomaly. No joy.

Not sure where else to check. Anyone playing an Abandoned Mode save after the Relics update and found a way to get the drive blueprint?

Is it possible to get to the Expedition starter system with a normal save [Question]

I have just finished the expedition with my main save and have returned through the anomaly. Now I wonder if it would be possible to get to the starter system of the expedition? I found a creature as a companion there that was too good, wagged his tail like a dog and was just lovely.

Broke my heart having to leave it behind. So I was wondering if I could get to that system and get one on my normal save, so I can keep him forever and ever.

Or is that just not possible?

Both of us got the game and wanna play it for the first time, but we're running into this issue where neither of us can join the other. we're both on PC gamepass for this. we tried hosting multiplayer session. the session never shows up for the other person. we tried connecting directly via xbox. it always gives us either "failed to connect to host" or "cannot connect to server". is there something we're doing wrong? Bug Report - Broken Monolith [Bug]

Currently working my way to the centre of the galaxy and I encountered a bug you might want to know about. I interacted with a Korvax monolith in a dissonant yellow star system and selected "seek help with the past." The usual scanning cutscene failed to play and I was stuck in an endless loop of interacting with the thing. A restart fixed it, but I was very puzzled and worried and I wanted to help out my fellow travellers.

Selling a critically damaged ship you can't summon [Information]

I ran into this issue earlier today, and found this older post, which said you could just swap in the damaged ship at a station without having to repair it. Unfortunately, the devs must've patched this out, because it's now impossible to swap into a damaged ship at a space station.

Since that thread had some dude all mad about it not working anymore, I figured I'd make this post to help others since I found out how to get around this issue, without needing to own a freighter.

Basically, just go to a planet, get out of your ship, and summon the damaged ship you want to repair. It'll land, and you can perform the minimum repairs needed for the pulse engine and launch thruster. Once that's done, you can go back to your main ship, go to a station, and now you'll be able to sell or scrap the now barely working ship.

Mods, if this is against the rules, please feel free to yell at me. I figure this issue is new enough that a post about it would be helpful for people who haven't learned how to do this yet.

Copper Regen Glitch on Relics Expedition [Bug]

I started playing the Relics expedition, and I started mining a copper deposit, and it regenerated after I finished mining it. Is this happening to anyone else, or just me? It's been doing this for almosty an hour, so it's basically an infinite copper glitch. I have no way to determine what is causing it. After a second it just reappears. After refining it I have over 2500 chromatic metal. (I submitted a bug report already). Any info is appreciated!

How to make whispering eggs STOP respawning. [Question]

I have tried to find some sort of answer on if this is possible but all i can seem to find is the opposite info of how to farm them. frankly they are respawning for me just fine but there are certain places, like around my base, id like them to NOT respawn. sure its convenient i suppose if i wanted to farm them but i dont at the moment and aesthetically, i want them gone without having to like.. build over them or something. so if there is a way to make them go away id be much obliged. if not ? well was worth a shot to ask XD.

Did I accidentally lock in the class of this pirate dreadnought? [Question]

So i was going to a pirate system to set up a base to farm sentinel ships when I stumbled upon a Freighter battle. I did the usual of taking out the engines then the anti-freighter guns before boarding. I went and saw it was a C class dreadnought and before I could think about it pressed "Demand tribute" before reloading my last restore point. I'm just curious on if I accidentally locked in the dreadnought as a C class or if I still have a chance to reload and get it to a higher class like A or S.

Relics expedition doesn't show third GPS route [Bug]

I don't know where to go, kept trying to reload saves, switch objectives, systems, planets, but it wouldn't show me what planet I should reach, no icons, no highlighted lines.

Is this a soft lock?
I really don't want to miss out on the rest of the content

FYI-The expedition is a chance to get Iron Vulture parts [Information]

Since you can only claim the IV once on your main save, if you have the ship from a previous mission, this is the time to grab 3 and salvage the parts.

Go to the expedition Claim the ship from the QS Merchant Return to your main save Copy the IV over, salvage Return to the Anomaly

Repeat until you have all of the IV parts in your inventory

The IV is the only expedition ship that I know of that can be scrapped for parts, is why I chose it for this post....

Abandoned mode suggestion: Station ownership. [Suggestion]

So, in abandoned mode there are to my knowledge no ways to get a freighter, i think this actually adds a unique challenge and dont think it should change...

However i do think that one change that could be really cool is if they allow you to re-activate and build up abandoned stations.

This should be hard to do and expensive, and preferably there would be station "modules" rather than just letting you place structures inside... This would allow you to essentially make a space station kind of your home and would serve like an immobile freighter, you should also be able to re-activate the portal.

this would add a fun little addition to abandoned mode i think, creating your own space station network, re-activating them on your journey creating your own little sector of the universe.

it could also be implemented into normal mode as there are abandoned systems and could be more fleshed out in that mode to include re-colonisation perhaps but this does start to get a little more complex and larger in scope.

I think this could be a seriously cool addition adding to the atmosphere of the mode, having a few stations that are warmer and clean and homely compared to the millions of abandoned stations would make them feel like a bastion of hope, perhaps adding external modules to add messages and perhaps add a relaying signal network to kind of roleplay that you're leaving breadcrumbs and shouting out into the galaxy to let anyone out there know you're alive, hopeful that somewhere in the darkness you're not alone.

Shared inventory between expedition and normal save? [Question]

In the Relics expedition, the Terminus on the Anomaly tells me I can deposit cargo or tech to be retrieved in my normal save, and vice versa. But all the slots are dimmed and I can’t add anything to them or do anything with them. What am I misunderstanding here?

Empty fossil display after reload [Bug]

I really wish we could change the duration of day/night cycles in the game. I feel like it becomes night time and then 3 minutes later the sun is rising.

Hanging posters [Question]

It's been difficult to get posters to place on the walls of my base for a while now, but I was using the trick of placing wall lights, shrinking them down, and applying the posters to them.

Now, after the relics update, I re-vamped my base and this involved removing a bunch of posters. Now when I try to put them up, it's not working the same. The edges of the wall lights now come through the posters, so all the pictures will have a nasty rectangle in them.

In an ideal world I'd be able to put the pictures straight onto the walls, but I'm not holding out hope they'll fix base building snapping issues. Has anyone come up with an alternative workaround for this please?

White screen then crash at startup [Bug]

Hey yall, this started yesterday (March 28, 2025) after the recent update. I can try to load from either steam, desktop, or .exe and it's the same issue. I get a white (not fullscreen) window when I try to start up. It closes itself after a few seconds. It doesn't tell me any errors. I've tried moving, renaming, and deleting the .dll files everyone mentions. I've tried changing from false to true in a game file. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times along with restarting my computer. I've only got 28 hours into this game and I'd really like to play more. I've played too much for a refund unfortunately so I'm just stuck with a $65 game I can't play.

i remember playing the old versions of NMS and it was never like this.

Bonefish easily. [Information]

People are having WAAAAY too much trouble with something that is exceedingly easy to do.

It needs to be done on a toxic planet.

It needs to be done at localized night, the day/night cycle of most planets is around 10 minutes each.

You need to be on top of a depth of AT LEAST 50 units, the fish won’t easily spawn in shallow waters.

Use the shadow lure, if you’re fishing the game gave you ALL LURE RECIPES, you need ANTIMATTER, METAL PLATING and CYTO-PHOSHATE to make some, the latter can be mined from plants in deep water planets, including toxic ones.

The second rendezvous has a toxic planet that meets all of these conditions, I’ve spent 30 shadow lure on one night cycle and managed to get 11 of them, if you’re having trouble, are on a toxic planet at night and using the lure, dive underwater and check the depth, it needs to exceed 50 units of depth down.

Skull Trophy [Question]

There was a decorative skull trophy given as a reward during the expedition. I assumed it would be available either in the build menu along with the bug trophies from that expedition, or as an expedition reward. I placed it just to see how it looked, and then deleted it thinking I'd be able to place it again, but now it seems like it's gone forever. Is there any way to get it back?

when is the game going to be finished? [Discussion]

instead of fixing what is wrong with it, they keep adding updates that are completely useless and garbage, for example the bone update, i have about 60hours in the game and didn't have fun in even one of those hours, kept playing because maybe i discover a fun planet, but no. Wanted to make a cool ship, had to run to buy a ship, get only one piece, go and buy another ship, destroy it again to get just one piece, did it another 200 times then found out you can't mix different ship parts of different classes like exlprorer and fighter, had to store the parts, had to search for fighter parts for 20 more years. why no new cool easy ship building mechanics where you just buy the parts at extra price? Tried to build some vehichles to drive on planets, first was the jeep thingy, got stuck in a plant and died because the controls are absolute garbage and the plant bit me while i was in the car. All the other vehicles including the submarine have the worst controls i have seen in any game, going from the seamoth from subnautica to driving the garbage submarine in nms felt like torture, why does the vehicle go in the direction you are looking snd not in the direction it should go? If i look a little bit to the left in real life my car should not do a barrel roll and drift in that direction because i slightly moved my head. Why are deep water planets locked when you buy the game? a game about planet exploration should let you explore planets that are in the game. Why are there even "main storylines" in the game? they are complete garbage dialogue pressing missions that make you do the exact same thing 2000 times, going to an atlas thingy just to go to another atlas thingy so you can then go to an atlas thingy because then you can go to the final atlas thingy is not fun and should not be a thing, absolue waste of playing time for people that don't always have 24 hours to play a single...

Missing Bases [Question]

Much like everyone else having Bonefish issues, I too am in that position. I've tried finding deep water on the Poisonous planet in Dig III but it's never deep enough.

Typically for these ridiculous expedition requirements, I just go to the bases that people make for others, but for someone reason, I can't see them. I've tried via Space Station Portal, and Anomaly Portal, and others bases aren't poputing. Multiplayer is on, I've reloaded the save.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

I started to leave and reenter a system with a pirate freighter event because I read you can farm them for a high class freighter. I've done it 5 times and every time it's been a C class with different storage layouts. Is this no longer a way to get an S class pirate freighter?

PS4 Relics - Ancient Guardians mission [Question]

How do you get this to happen? I'm supposed to defeat an ancient guardian. Mission is active and sweep locates the stones. I'm on a planet with Ancient Bones. I find a Vigilant Stone that says "Do Not Disturb". It doesn't matter whether I dig up any or all of the bones first, or whether I "Wake" first or last by interacting with the stones - no Ancient Guardian appears. I hear a sound sorta like a Sentinel is coming for you but nothing appears. I've been to 5 sites now. Some have 1 stone. Some have 5 stones. All disappear when I interact with one. They do nothing if I dig up all the bones without touching them.

Is this bugged? How do I get the guardian to show up? I'm filling up on bones.

How to salvage damaged ships in 2025 [Information]

I've seen questions about summoning and scraping damages ships since the recent patches removed the exploit in most cases. I've found 2 work arounds after the recent patches.

Option 1 requires a freighter with a portal. Go to your freighter. Get in the damaged ship. Get out. Use the portal on your freighter to go to a space station. Scrap the ship.

Option 2. You need at least 3 ships. Ship A is your good ship. Ship b is the damaged one. Ship c flies.

Land at a station in ship a. Summon and scrap ship c. Ship b will appear in it's place. Scrap it.

I scrapped 3 damaged ships this way. Landed a. Summoned and scrapped c. Landed and scrapped B1, b2, b3.

As long as A is already landed at the station, the damaged ships will keep being summoned.

Crash while scanning [Bug]

I am playing on a HP laptop. In the beginning no man sky ran just fine at not even minimum setting. It used to run on low fps but didn't crash.
Recently, after the world update part II, I think, the game started crashing when I try to use the scanner on an unidentified object.

Here are the specs:
i5-1235u
16gb of ram at 3200mt
Intel irix xe graphics

I have my setting at the lowest possible. The framerates are fairly high too (30-60fps depending where I am). But it just does crash each time.

Here's what I tried so far:
Disabling HT (did not do anything, after review the post talking abt this I realised it only concerned the i7-7700 or cpu of the same architecture)

Have yet to try a clean install, would it be recommended? Does anyone have the same or similar issues? This bug makes the game seriously unplayable.

Exhibits on freighter? [Suggestion]

Marking this as a suggestion in case the answer is "no" but are we able to build Exhibits on freighters? And also, hoping this exhibits mechanic is a prelude to being able to create exhibits for all other discoveries (planets, plants, animals, etc) rather than having to use a wonder projector! And PS if it is still a wonder projector let us build more on a freighter - I use my freighter FAR more than I will ever visit a base I have, and returning to a base just to see an exhibit is far less likely than to see exhibits as I walk past them on my freighter to other freighter tech.

Update 2025; How many Ships can you have ? [Question]

Hi gang

I have maxxed out my original 12 ships I could get, and had to lose some uniques to get newer ones.

My 1st Question is, did they increase over 12 with all the new expeditions and stuff ?

Can't see other peoples bases. [Question]

Cross save [Question]

I was part of the Cross-save feature; however it seems like I have been removed. When I tried to connect my Nintendo account to my PS5, it just says the beta is full. Does anyone know if this is because I hadn't linked the accounts physically, or is this a bug?

Does skipping the tutorial skip the main questline? [Question]

I made a new save and chose to skip the tutorial obviously and I'm wondering if it skips the main questline too because I already finished the game and I dont wanna bother having to do all these quests to unlock stuff like freighter events etc. I did some stuff and stayed silent when artemis called for the first time but it still gave me the alone amidst stars quest. I forgot if you get to skip it later or if I cant anymore. Can anyone clear it up for me?

No ships? [Bug]

Since the newest update no ships land anywhere I am. They appear and circle around my freighters hanger bay, but never land on the hanger, as well as none landing inside space stations.

I'm not really sure what the issue is, ive verified game files and resinstalled the game but the issue persists. Anyone solve this issue?

Lost marking/pinning planet option? [Question]

Did anyone else lose the ability to pin or mark planets today/yesterday? We just got it so I know it might be buggy, but I wasn't sure if it was something I did on my end.

Fwiw I am in a purple system, and used my freighter planetary scan to discover all planets in this system last time I played, yesterday. Today I do not have the marking option, but I definitely had it a few days ago.

Fish Tanks [Discussion]

Ever since the beginning of the game, way back when I first witnessed water creatures, I have had one dream. A dream no game seems to address aside from single player games as far as I have seen.

FISH TANKS.

When I Saw the Aquarius update, the many fish, all the different models, I was excited. I thought, has the time come? I have seen the swimming water cows and the discount fish models from way back then. We have the models for actual, proper, functional sea creatures, and even giant squid!

We can adopt giant hermit crabs, and have a tank with pre generated fish, but alas, still no fish tank.

All I have ever wanted from any game is to be with the homies, land dwelling and aquatic. Even avian creatures would be cool.

Just put in a way to breed the current fish using the system we have now but tweaked to generate new rare or exotic fish models, and add a way to shrink them down and display all the fish you catch inside of a tank, complete with models that move, interact, or have some sort of changing animation at the least.

If they had specific ways to breed them or customize the tank decor, or add plants and other farm-able things like nipnip or the manufacturing plants to it it would be AMAZING.

You could even have some fish produce rare resources!

The possibilities are endless with it and somehow it is the only thing I feel no man's sky is missing!

I know it seems like a lot to add but I would be over the moon to have my favorite game have this.

I'll never put it down!

I feel like it would be very cool to have different sizes of black holes (maybe supermassive in addition to the ones already in the game) as well as Neutron stars and Quasars, even if they were just eye candy in rare systems while warping

Anomaly Flipping my ship when landing [Bug]

I wasn't able to get a screenshot; but as I was coming back from a nexus mission, my ship got flipped over, making it so I couldn't properly land; and since I was in the landing cutscene I was unable to flip myself back over and I was forced to restart my game, which is a bit annoying, I spent a good while on the nexus mission I was on just for it to not save and I lost the quicksilver I was going for; has anyone else had this issue happen and/or know of a good fix so it doesn't happen again?

How To Get Into NMS? [Discussion]

Hey everyone. So this game more than any other game seems like a game I would be super into. And through the years I keep trying to get into the game and I just can’t seem to do it.

Last play through I got further than I did before but it is still just barely scratching the surface. Still was in my starter ship wanting to collect the stuff needed to build my own ship.

Everything just feels overly grindy and disconnected from one another like a game full of features but not interacting with any of the other features.

But I find myself still wanting to find a way to get into it because it seems really cool.

I’m thinking about trying my hand at NMS again. Any suggestions on how to more effectively get into it?

How do Multi-Tool Expedition rewards work? [Question]

After finishing this expedition, I can say it was a fun time. I like the additions and cosmetics. I didnt get overly attached to anything in my Expidition save, knowing I'd have to leave it behind (I could not part with my "dragon" skull, however, that had to come along), but I will kind of miss the multi-tool I carried with me.

Which begs the question...how am I gonna get the Basilisk Crown on my primary save? It was an expedition reward, but it's going to liquidate everything I have here for units. Will I need to talk to the Quicksilver merchant to claim it on my primary save?

Bugged Portals/Player Bases? [Bug]

I'm on the Relics expedition and I suddenly noticed that I am unable to see the purple base icons on any planets and no player bases are loading at the portal. I could see them when I started the expedition, but now I can't and I don't know exactly when they disappeared.

I can still see player, player ship icons with multiplayer enabled, and I can see colony and Freighter icons as well. It's just the purple player base icon that are gone.

If I disable multiplayer, all or the vast majority of the other player bases disappear leaving just the station portals and my freighter.

I've tried saving and reloading, saving and close out the game and restart it, both with and without multiplayer enabled. Nothing has made any difference.

Is anyone else seeing this, or am I just the lucky winner of bug-of-the-week?

no ships spawning anywhere at all? [Bug]

i’ve been playing on a save for about ten hours and everything has been fine except for the fact that no matter what I do I can’t get any npc ships to spawn in space stations or the places on planets where ships spawn. i’ve sat at space stations for 45 minutes at a time without even seeing one and obviously within 10 hours i’ve reloaded the game dozens of times without anything changing so I know it’s not just a bug in my save file. does anyone know a solution to this or how I could fix this? the only way i’ve been able to get new ships is by fixing crashed ones or finding sentinel ships and that’s getting boring and tedious

Is anyone else experiencing this with Burial Sites? [Question]

It seems to me that when you would get the Nexus weekend missions where you would have to get bones, they would be in clumps of 4 or 5. For the expedition, I'm doing The Archeologist milestone, where you have to dig up 80 fossils. I'm getting 1 or 2 in a bunch. A couple times I've had 3, but maybe 10% of the time.

Living Fossil Companion Egg bug [Bug]

I took my E18 Phase 2 reward to the Egg Sequencer and when I got there, it auto inserted around 999 eggs and just as many venom sacs. I sequenced it with a few other things and received 10 eggs, ready to hatch. They all kept spawning the same living fossil so I thought it was a bug and deleted the living fossil from my Companion Register and now, no matter how many eggs I hatch, it won't hatch the companion again.

Is there any way to get it back? I wanted to keep it :/

Space Station Captain?? [Question]

I don’t know if this is a glitch or not but I just destroyed a ship and a few pirates and I had got a prompt to go speak to the captain. Only issue is, it didn’t tell me to speak to a freighter captain but instead the captain of “The Gagnings Sphere” which is the space station in this star system… am I missing something?? I can’t seem to find them anywhere and nothing I’ve looked up has any information about a “space station captain” I tried speaking to the captain of the freighter I saved but nothing really happened. It didn’t say what it’s said before like, he was relieved and he wanted me to be the new captain or whatever else it could say. It was just nothing basically then it asked if I wanted to buy the freighter… again, am I missing something??

Somewhat confused after finishing up the expedition.. [Question]

So i finished up the relics expedition, had a good time, but I had one unfortunate thing happen and another thing that I'm confused by.

So while on the expedition i got my titan trophy and placed it down in a base but realized i didn't want to have it placed and wanted to take it into my main save but when i went to delete it. Instead of what i thought was gonna happen, i would just get the inventory item back like with the glitches, it just gave me condensed carbon back. Not supper happy about that seeing as thats really only a past expedition reward and i wanted to keep/use it in a longtime base I've been working on.

The other thing that sorta confuses me is that i don't have the blueprints for the fossil stands anymore. Is that supposed to happen or do i get those elsewhere?

Miffed with Atlas [Bug]

So I'm rather frustrated with MNS rn as I just finished the meeting Atlas through the portals quest and was teleported to meet the red orb, and then they blew up or something? After claiming the new multitool (Basilisk Crown) in Relics, I can't swap back to my old MT [Bug]

Title + extra context: I can swap from the Basilisk Crown to the one I got at the start of the expedition, but I can't swap to the one I copied via the expedition terminal (i.e., my main one lol). It's weird, it looks like it is sort of greyed out, too. Has this happened to anyone else? I was thinking about making a base and using a weapon rack to see if that fixes it.

Fossil thing started off cool but... [Question]

I finished the relic exp. I thought the bone collecting and creating exhibits was really cool. Then I went back to my main save. Fossil beds now give 1 bone. In the expedition there were 7-10 bones in every fossil bed. Now I travel a thousand plus clicks to get from one bed to another and each has one bone. This bone bed think went from being pretty cool to just another grindy thing I'm not interested in doing.

Am I doing it wrong? Did I miss something?

Relics Expedition With A Friend? [Question]

I’ve been playing NMS for about 4 months now and loving it. I have a friend that wants to pick it up as well and I was thinking that the most recent expedition might be a great way for her to kickstart a new game save. We’re both on PS5.

I also know that multiplayer is pretty rough and usually, the first thing people suggest after running into a bug on expeditions is to turn multiplayer off 🤦‍♂️.

So my question is: what tips would you have for us both if we attempt this? She’ll be starting with a new character of course. Should I do the same? Or is there some advantage to launching the expedition from my main save (other than taking resources and stuff main save, which I don’t really care about doing for this one)? Do we start the expedition separately and then try and link up in phase 2 once we have access to the Anomaly? Or can we start it and join up immediately by joining each others session?

I can't warp to the center of universe - Permadeath [Question]

I can't make the jump. My freighter has enough warp distance (and is fully upgraded) but I cannot target the center to make the jump. My starship does NOT have the distance, however, but I was under the impression you can jump using your freighter. Am I going to have to grind upgrades to make the jump with my starship or am I missing something with the targeting using my freighter. I have been trying to figure this out for days, please help. I just want the damn achievement.

New to PSVR2 [Question]

Is there a way to run in NMS when playing in VR2? There is a function for teleporting but I’d rather run and enjoy the feeling then getting teleported everywhere. Also any tips for motion sickness? I can hardly play for a few minutes before getting nauseated.

Cross Save issues [Question]

I started the expedition on my MacBook Pro because I was traveling.

I uploaded my save to the Cross Save cloud, and when I got home yesterday and tried to continue my game on my Xbox Series X, I got the message "Download Required", but the game wouldn't download. When I looked in the save manager, the game was grayed out.

Friend is unable to play in a group [Bug]

Hi all,

My friends and I recently picked up NMS and we've been loving it, but my most recent friend to start playing has this constant issue where if he's in the anomaly or in the same system as us, he will disconnect and reconnect repeatedly. We've tried a multitude of things (restarting game, pc, router, etc) but as far as I can tell, this is still an issue for some people? The only difference between him and the other two of us that play are that hes playing on Steam and we're playing on gamepass. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

I need some convincing. [Question]

Just have some worries about this game, as it’s on sale right now and the new update looks cool. Is it overwhelming? When I get into a new game sometimes the mechanics can be super overwhelming(Like baldurs gate 3). Is everything explained well? Is it boring to start? My other question is what is the overall gameplay? Is it mostly collecting items, is it combat? Does it also require tons of grinding? Thanks!

Wire Glitch [Question]

PS5 Can someone please explain “The Wire Glitch” to me? I can get it right up to after I duplicate the tiny wire and hit triangle and R2 but it places full size item instead of smaller size of it. And if I can help you let me know. Google says as of today still working. Thank you for any and all help it is greatly appreciated. It's not a hard system. I can't be messing this up. Place down the fossil display, insert parts into the display, get an Exhibit back. Place the exhibit as furniture, admire handiwork, save, log out, log in ... The exhibition is now an Avian Fossil Display.

Capital ships [Question]

I just got my first freighter (A class regular freighter) and was wondering how can I get the capital ship venator. After the 3hrs and 5 warp jumps will only capital ships spawn or will normally freighters spawn too? As for the units, I was thinking of farming the interceptor ships as I got my first one today (s class) and it sells for around 45mil and was relatively easy to get. Is this a good way to get units for the capital ships or is there a better way and is my thinking right abt the capital ship spawn?

New Titan Trophy Issue [Question]

Has anyone else experienced this issue/know anything about it?

I just completed the new “Relics” expedition and got the Titan Trophy (skull of a large creature - like one you can find in space but much smaller). It’s a base decoration and I was able to put it down in my base, and I could copy more from the original by using condensed carbon. However I decided I didn’t like the original placement of the trophy and I disassembled it.

Now I expected to have the trophy either back in my inventory (like when you pick up an exotic piece you’ve placed) or at least still have the trophy in my build menu. However once I picked it up I only received condensed carbon back, and it was gone from the build menu. Seemingly no way to get it back. Luckily I had a precious save I was able to reload, but now I’m scared to place the trophy again.

Anyone know how to keep the trophy available to build after placing it?

Fossil Display bug [Bug]

Is anyone else unable to place fossil displays on their freighter base? For some reason, I can freely place the individual fossil pieces, but cannot build the displays themselves. I’m able to build them on-planet, but I really want to set up some freighter base displays. The error message reads “Cannot build // Base out of range”

My son (7) was very proud showing me his No Man's Sky base this morning. Second pic has some notations. We have both been playing a lot again due to the Expedition. I the expedition, and I introduced him to the abandoned mode. He's more in to creative and doesn't do the missions so this mode is perfect for him. Dead in deep ocean, can't find grave [Question]

I did a dumb and went into deep ocean totally undergeared, I was determined to reach the sea floor but realized about halfway down it wasn't going to happen, so I started going back up only to find ascent is agonizingly much slower. I almost made it to 200u from the surface before croaking.

I also completely forgot about the "losing everything in your inventory" when you die during an expedition, jumped a couple systems before discovering everything was gone (panic!), went back to the water planet where I died and... no grave marker. The whole planet is ocean, there's no landmarks for me to find a general location, is there basically no hope to recover my items at this point?

First expedition, still confused after reading up [Question]

I understand that my ship multitool and exosuit are damaged at the start. But I read that you can buy "the ship you started with" at the anomaly? What does that mean? Can I get any ship I own fully loaded then? Why should I use a scrap ship?

Some say remove everything from exosuit, is it all damaged or we just can't use it until fixed? Is the damage permanent?

Saving before the Dreadnought/Freighter protection event still works, but is the Dreadnough that I get predetermined to be the same?

I've been trying to get an S-Tier Dreadnought by doing that trick, but I keep getting the same C-Tier one, or at least very similar.

Guestbook to sign in at bases. [Discussion]

Was thinking it would be cool to implement some kind of guestbook. If I visit a cool base and they had a guestbook I could sign or someway to send a message like "cool base" or "I love how you designed your toilets." At the very least it would be cool to see if anyone has visited and maybe they can vote with a thumbs up or thumbs down or something. If you don't want one at your base don't build one. But for those of us that visit other people's stuff to check it out, it would be cool to nudge the OP and be like "hey, good job, keep up the good work. I see you." And I also have a hidden base. So if anyone ever did find it they could be like hey, found your base mofo "wink." Would be good for the community. Or the base with the most likes is now the capital base of this planet. That would get the competition going. Could be cool. Thanks for your time.

Why do players lack so much customization options NPCs have? [Question]

I've noticed with the autophage mostly, but some other races like the Gek. That the players lack the ability to customize to look completely like the npcs the Autophage have cool multi tool hands, and armor that is falling apart, or just armor that is completely different from what plays can use.

Plenty of units, nanites, ships, now what? [Question]

I think I am suffering from analysis paralysis. I have over 2B units, over 200K nanites, ships of every type, and good s class freighter.

I have traveled to about 15 different galaxies.

I have done the latest expedition 18.

I have a custom save, creative save, and a permadeath save where I finished out all the 27 steam achievements.

I could take any one of these and go further with it. Max units, more nanites, more galaxies, etc. Lots of players have gone much much further.

But I am looking for ideas on things you have done to change things up when you have gotten this far.

What are some fun ideas that got you through periods of "what do I do now?"

Anyone encounter the big stoney friend from the Relics trailer? [Question]

I'm pretty new to this game, and Relics is my first expedition. The trailer showed this big friend looking, well, big - almost like a part of the terrain rather than one of the rouseable golems camped out by the fossil sites. Out of curiosity, has anyone encountered one of these this big and docile? I've woken some of the ones that will attack you, and found them to be less big and significantly more hostile. Or do the expedition trailers take some liberties with the game footage? Not that I'm complaining, the game and expedition are both excellent.

Sell Prices and Stellar Classes [Bug]

So I’m trying to sell some stuff and I was hoping to find a stellar class 4 or 5 with a high sell value because I like to sell my wares in Paradise. Obviously. After about 10 minutes of looking I noticed that the lower the stellar class, the lower the sell prices (0 around 45%, 9 around 78%) consistently. Pretty sure it’s a bug. Anyone else notice this?

Does anyone know the best systems to find infested planets in? [Question]

I just started up an abandoned save after the recent changes, and figured that an infested planet would be the most thematic to settle on since even in populated systems in normal mode there aren’t any NPC’s on them. Issue is I have NO idea what their ideal spawning conditions are, nor do I know which system types they appear more frequently in 😅 I’m down to do some testing tonight on my main save to figure out a rough average of which systems spawn them the most, and before that I just wanted to check if anyone already had the data!! Thanks!!
