in short, some kind of bug going on there i think. i'd strongly recommend keeping mp disabled (and pvp set to no one too, if you haven't yet/it's not already) when battling sentinels to avoid any possible bugs. lastly, and normally, we don't need to outrun sentinels, we just need to hold our distance from pursuing party, after we've obtained enough distance to clear line of sight. they'll still try to zero in on last known player position, but if you maintain the distance (use visor to check sentinel icons) it will eventually first start counting down (top right), until it finally resets to 0.

you don't need to, no; but for who only wants to get the rewards that are unlocked account wide anyway, regardless of what save they do it from, starting from existing save doesn't have much appeal. some prefer to avoid it to keep their thousands-of-hours main saves intact. plus, it's not like it's a matter of difficulty either. it's only possibly to start expedition from existing save since expedition 12

look for purple star system that says dissonant, click it, if it has one big planet and maybe a few moons, go there and check

see if it is a ocean planet

if not move on to the next one

but for the expedition you can do it on one of the rdz planet anyway

For more information, please reread (5.57 on Steam btw, multiplayer is off). I have no problem getting a freighter location to appear. The issue is there is nothing there but a flat area when you get there. The game says location reached, but there's no frieghter or beacon. Looks like someone's bugged it with the terrain manipulator.

Are you playing on a platform where you can turn off multiplayer/network during expedition? I highly recommend it. Yesterday there was even a featured base next to "sunken" freighter that ticked the box for me on my fresh expedition 17 save. ("sunken" meaning parts of it where visible above water, hardest part was locating the beacon)

Well, I'm not much use in a crisis, I was more asking out of self interest 😄 so I'll bow out. But when in doubt, exit the ship around 1000u away, then reload that save and see if it spawn in, I guess. Turn it off and turn it on again... IN SPACE!

I was able to complete the expo last night without too much issue. The sunken freighter showed up for me right away on the water world they send us to. My only issue with the game that started with 5.57 update, is that when you are on planets that don't really have much water, but appear to have underground pockets of water in caves, the game gets really glitchy and will constantly bob my player higher and higher when trying to swim around and eventually bumps me through the terrain and I'm standing on land a bit aways from where I was.

I figure encountered this on the planet you visit with the ruins and radiation in the starter system. I was trying to grab the Sulphide crystals early as I knew I needed them and their icons kept showing up everywhere but they were in underground water caves that I had to terrain manipulate to open up and get to.

But yeah... the game wasn't liking that too much. On the actual water world I didn't have any issues.

And in places where the water is present on the surface and you can dive down, it seemed to work properly. So it was only in water caves that the physics were wonky.

BTW... for any having issues getting the pictures done on each rendevous on the PS4 version. You have to go into photo mode and then press and hold the share button to get the actual PS4 share screen up. Then choose the screenshot option from there. That has been the only way I can get that milestone to actually work. Just going into photo mode and using the screenshot button within the game...never seems to work.

And that photo issue isn't unique to this expo either. I've have always had to do it that way to get those milestones to work. They never seem to register using the screenshot function within the game's photo mode as you would expect.

It is crazy how much in advance you get done without too much work on this expo. I had most of 2 and 3 done before even leaving the starter system. And once I got the stuff needed for the water milestones, that went really quickly and all I had left was just visiting the redevous and taking pics.

so far, devs always rerun expeditions released in a given year at the end of that same year again. in 2023 and 2024, they started doing an additional rerun, bringing back much older expeditions with a mixed reward set, including rewards from other, also older, "offyear" expeditions.

The first gas giant has them. Hang around long enough outside and they will come to you. You dont need to be flying or anthing special, just outside. Carefull when you get dropped though 😉

I dunno, I got picked up by three in sequence just trying to find my ship when I first started. And successfully dodged a couple more while looking for storm crystals. Not every little whirligig you see is a tornado though, the tornadoes are extra intense, and tend to have lightning. One sucked me out of a pretty deep cave. I've also been pulled out of the inside of a building on my main.

Don't need to be flying or anything.

Actively trying to avoid them has worked pretty well for me 🤷‍♀️

the reason why atlas scepter is "better at resource collecting" is because it's the only staff that uses runic lens tech instead of coming with mining beam by default. additionally, like with any tool that doesn't have mining beam by default, we can install mining beam on the side, and it buffs runic lens/hijacked laser

there's no hidden mining innate stat

atlantids are the top at mining

even more so because they can also install mining beam on the side

With a lone supercharged boltcaster (on a C class multitool) you can dps through the healing like it ain't even happening, and this is on the highest difficulty settings, so expeditions should be much easier. This game is really very broken.

You can get real funny by having a low grade multitool, waiting for sentinels to spawn, then switching to your beefy neutron cannon or whatever

It can be found on planets orbiting blue stars. It's easy to spot because of its specific blue color.

Indium can be refined using a Refiner with the following ingredients:

Indium ×1 + Chromatic Metal ×1 → Indium ×2

Atlantideum can be acquired in a variety of ways:

Mining purple crystals on Dissonant Planets
Killing corrupted sentinel drones or quadrupeds (66%)
Looting wheelbarrows at Harmonic Camps (8%)

Living Glass is made from Lubricant and Glass.

Hello, everyone. I just completed Titan, which was my first ever expedition. I'm now preparing to return to my main save and want to make sure I don't screw up any of the transfers. A few questions: (1) I claimed a nice A-class sentinel ship during the expedition and I'd like to copy it back to my main saver after I exit, so I understand that I need to make sure it is my primary ship when I exit so it is available to copy at the terminal. However, I'm concerned that if I do this, I will lose all of the S-class upgrades on my shiny new Wraith as I won't be able to copy it directly back and will need to claim it at the Quicksilver station. Is this correct? Or will I get to keep all of the included S-class upgrades that came with the Wraith even if I claim it at the Quicksilver station instead of copying it?
(2) I copied in my favorite multitool during the expedition and was able to add some new slots to it after the fishing milestone. Will those new slots still be there when I exit? If not, can I copy it back into my main save and keep the slots that way? Thanks a ton for the help. I had a blast doing my first expedition and I don't want to ruin my experience by making a n00b mistake in the final step.

IMO exosuit upgrades are the only ones worth bringing home since you can just copy your Multitool + Ship, and you probably won’t fill all 8 slots with just exo stuff unless your save is brand shpankin new

is there any way to transfer all items to main save?

storage augmentations, quick silver, nanites and other things for example\

you can transfer items back at the terminal

i believe you put them in there then go to your main save and pull them out and keep doing that till you have what you want

as far as whats left, your ships, freighter etc most of that will break down into units, nanites and if u do quicksilver missions when you leave the expedition to ur main guy it will all transfer those units nanites and quicksilver

at least from past expeditions, i did 16 before all the reduxs

hm...yeah it wouldn't matter if you transferred anything to begin with. That screen is showing as if you started from a new save though. It should be showing you "return to primary save" or an "end expedition" button on the bottom of that. And no matter what, should be showing you the cargo slots for transferring to main save.

i haven't finished this expedition yet, but this is what my screen looks like currently if i go to the expedition terminal ( i started the expedition from my main save):

yeah idk tbh when i went to the terminal in the anomaly maybe half way through the expedition, it showed me that screen. now nothing though. ive tried closing the game and a few other simple tasks but it's still the same. i guess i doesnt matter much but i saved all my storage and frieghter augmentations throughout the expedition so i could bring them back lol

do you see another save game to load from the main menu that has more hours played? Do the hours played match on this save where you did the expedition match what you would have on your main or just the time you spent in the expedition?

Anyone else here with a bug where they can’t see the progress of the 5th milestone (in the terminal!) As in.. I don’t see anything related to the 5th milestone in the expedition terminal. Sometimes it blinks in and out of existence but it’s only for a split second. It’s been a thing for a while now. Quite annoying.

amassed currency like units, nanites and quicksilver merge back into primary save, when expedition is ended. there also activities that, if done in the expedition character, add bonus rewards on. check !faq-expedition /finishing an expedition sublink

havent seen that one yet. have you tried just save+restarting, perhaps having multiplayer disabled might also help, or maybe resummoning anomaly to a diff system?

Yeah, I’ve tried all of that🤔. It was the same with the cursed expedition. It completes it, I just can’t see the icon for it (and progress). Just a visual glitch I think🤷. No biggie. I’ll report it, but not really a big deal.

Also. It’s only on my main save file. Not on new ones😂.
