probably bring some gold, some pugneum, some salt too

even though those can be easily bought or refined from something

e.g. magno-gold that drops from buried mineral formations - breaking those also counts for a milestone, one man's treasure, refines to gold, or can get gold when doing the asteroid milestone, up to you

pugneum from the kill sentinel milestone for sure if you do it early-ish

the base building milestones: remember that once the hint has registered you completed a substep, e.g. build 2/2 circular prefab rooms - you can delete those same rooms to get mats back to build other stuff for the other substep, or the next steps - that it won't deregister

don't drop and claim the base computer close to your ship - might have a bit of a problem later when building stuff because "ship is too close"

find a planet with cactus flesh on resource list (there's one in rdv3), install hazmat gauntlet (reward from phase 3 milestone 3), then use visor to look for echinocactus icons

Hi, if I added modules to my Starship before i transfer it to my main save, do the modules disappear or do I need to store and transfer them?

If you copy the starship to the main save they come with the starship. If you don't copy the starship they don't come along, obviously.
Nothing from exosuit comes along, since you can't copy your exosuit. Your multitool comes with all installed modules if you copy it.

Ahh. I didn't have to fight anything. Just destroyed 6 resonators before one dropped

Yeah the trick is - run up to the resonant disonator while it is non-agro and check which one it is - it will tell you mirror or echo when you point at it

Once you have which one you want - blast it and run off once you get the part.

Let the sentinel search pass then go about your business with the rerst of the expedition.

You have to collect alll the expedition rewards including the final one that rewards the Starrunner to unlock the expedition terminal.

Then instead of closing out the expedition you have the esc>option>return to primary save path to move items over to the primary save.

When you either close out the expedition or wait the timer out your save will convert to a normal save. If you have the staff prior to the end it will be with you when the save converts.

I don't like that part we used to get our ships for free out. After you finish the expedition. Now you got to pay to get them out in your main save.

1. I can transfer both my active ship AND the Runner?
2. if there’s modules in my active ship, do they transfer as well?

You can only transfer the ship that you were using as your primary when the exped ended, and yes, all of its tech transfers with it

You need to watch out because there's a glitch if you start a new game.. sometimes you have to rebuy things in the Quicksilver shop. On a new playthrough. Yes I found it lol.

It looks like they removed the copy ship function if you already have one. So unfortunately you can't generate an iron vulture after every single expedition haha

The key thing for me last time was that I didn't lock myself out of the expedition by hanging around too long in primary save. So although I was 5min overtime, I was still inside the expedition and was able to see the end expedition button and get my rewards

Either by using a Transmission Tower wich will give you a Distress Signal, or by using a Minotaur for scanning distress signals. You can also use the Nautilon sonar radar to search wrecked starships

You can also exchange Navigation Data for a Planetary Chart that will give you a point of interest

Btw when you find the crashed ship you'll have to repair its damaged parts. Then take the ship to the nearest Space Station. After landing head to the shops, near the teleport you'll find an hologram of a spaceship. Interact with it. Then choose the option "scrap for parts". Make sure you have room in your inventory. After the scrap is successful you can sell the new items you received in your inventory to the shop seller bot.

it depends on what you like: are you trying to build up the main save? then maybe getting more nanites and units from the expd save is a good idea. do you prefer a fresh start with no help? maybe a new save is better

ok well starting from an existingsave, you can send over up to 8 tech and 24 other items to the expd version of the save. when you are done, the units, nanites and quicksilver earned are transfered back to the main save

you also have the option to make copies of equipped mt and ship from main save to existing save (for a cost of some nanites)

I found out from my personal experience it takes a long longer. And you can't grab your multi-tool or your spaceship. Also you can't put things in your inventory to grab to use for later too.

a new save is none of that but every item you acquire remains when the save converts to regular mode at the end

this is at least the general way things work for expeditions.

but that's the thing - abandoned space stations dont have/didn't get a scrapping station, or a exosuit upgrade station

for example, the only way to get suit upgrades would be the anomaly and drop pods (and milestones)

A really great tip that it seems a lot of people haven't heard is: You can do the tasks in each phase independently of each other. You can do the tasks in the 5th phase before doing any tasks in the 1st. Some tasks are made easier by having another finished first. Read all the tasks first to figure out which are easy to do early
