@tender ridge I can confirm you can both copy from expedition save AND claim at qs merchant in anomaly

I started expedition with my main save, finished and claimed all the rewards in expedition, moved to main save, copied and then claimed starborn runners

went back to expedition, scrapped SR for materials, went o main, scrapped one of those two

so I'm left with the starborn runner and over 100 mil units + some materials from two scrapped ships

well, fwiw, i was able to complete in less than 3h of play - probably around 3h30 real time clock. if you plan ahead, review rewards and objectives of other phases ahead, you can certainly do it in 6h

after the expedition ends? if you're not on pc, it will end and either not let you claim anything else and force, depending on whether started from existing save or new save, a reload back into primary save (not sure if it's intended to not let player to cleanly end via expedition terminus; this takes away the ability to send back item to primary save) or a conversion to a normal mode save. if started from new save+converted to normal, then you could find another player/have a friend join you, transfer items over to them, then you rejoin using main save (which for this to work, couldn't be a permadeath save)

right. do remember that phase and final expedition rewards (and in the case of exp12, also the optional milestone rewards from phases 2-5) are unlocked account wide, which means that they can be claimed once per save, in any save under the same account, from the qs shop in the anomaly - even if you started an expedition 12 run using main menu/new save

starborn runner has a unique pulse engine tech - called photonix core, that cant be learned today and can't be obtained in another way unless save edit/mod/service bot - if you're copying starborn runner multiple times, and scrapping them, you could also package photonix core out of each copy before scrapping each copy, getting multiple copies of packaged photonix core to install in your other ships

There's also an option to transfer a few items and upgrades (something like 24 items and 8 upgrades) if you started expedition on your main character. So for example you can transfer all of these buried technology modules you get from expedition (I think you get like 70 - 80 in total from it)

Expeditions are an alternate time-limited, season-like game mode with a set of challenges rewarding exclusive items that can be claimed in any and all of your saves, in any game mode account-wide.

To get past expedition rewards, you must wait for possible future expedition re-runs (see past expeditions) or possible future Twitch Drops campaigns featuring old expedition rewards (see past campaigns). You may also obtain certain rewards via other unconventional means including ship trading or using a "service bot" in the Creative Hub Discord. These methods do not work on old gen consoles.

Setting up:

• Meet the time requirement to encounter a freighter rescue battle (3 hours of playtime and 5 ship warps since the last battle). Until then, always exit ship to update restore point slot before ship warping out to another system.

• If using glyphs, reach the target galaxy and portal to your desired system. Then warp out to a nearby uncharted system, drop and claim a base computer.

Doing the above ensures that when the battle triggers in some random system, you can always reload restore point, teleport to claimed base computer, exit ship once more to update restore point and ship warp out to your target glyphs system nearby.

• A freighter battle should trigger and you will fly towards the capital ship. Upon getting close to the freighter, the game will inform you how many attackers (pirates) are present (see image link »). If there are 5, proceed. If there are 8 attackers, the exotic won't always spawn, so it is recommended you try a different system.

• You can reload restore point to search for different exotic designs through many systems, until you find a system that has both 5 attackers and the exotic design you want.

Once you decide that you want to get the current system's exotic, you have two methods you can try:

Method 1:
• Rescue the npc freighter and dock with it. You should see the ships heading towards it as well and the exotic will land shortly thereafter. You can reload restore point and rewarp back into the same system and redo the battle to respawn/reroll exotic stats.

Method 2:
• Note: Only use this method if you're certain that you'll have the units to get the ship, as exiting ship in space station will overwrite restore point save slot, removing the ability to reload to the previous system and redo the battle if you need to for some reason. Exotics go for about 40M units.

• Toggle through the friendly ships to find which one is the exotic. You will have to find the exotic by actually seeing it. (see image link »)

• Kill the pirate the exotic is focused on. Kill each pirate the exotic is focused on. If the exotic doesn't go after another pirate, follow it to the space station.

• Once the exotic is close to the station, land in the station. The exotic may fly a couple rounds around the station. Then whenever the exotic flies in, buy it.

here's one way to find a regular exotic ship

ffs that block of text was longer than expected sorry
you can also visit a trade outpost -> plop a save becon at the top of it, save -> reload the resore point -> look at the sky and see if any exotic ship is about to land, reset if not -> repeat until found exotic ship
doesn't matter which economy type you're in

mind you, that starborn runner is a unique ship, the only way to obtain it is through this expedition

buy s-class upgrade modules from stations, can stack up to 3 upgrade modules of the same type

goto rdv2 or rdv1 - they're both dissonant systems - either look in the teleporter for "sentinel ship" or "harmonic camp" bases from other players, or find a sentinel ship on your own - could even get lucky and get one from the sentinel in distress space encounter, that could happen when pulse driving for a certain amount of time in a suitable dissonant system

can determine what's an outlaw system by economy data alone
