3. at outlaw stations buy suspicious arms and tech modules - visit more stations and buy more - when happy (i was happy at around 150 of each) unpack em, keep the ones you like, sell to any upgrade module vendor

the modules earn you 400 per, except for hazard modules which are 900 700 something

Memory fragments can be consumed, they will drop a random technology. That can be packaged technology too sometimes. Not particularly valuable imo as most of the time you will either get tech that can be just unlicked at the anomaly or a c class module

you could, but if you started from existing save, you'd have to transfer it to a friend that started expedition from new save, so that they get to convert their save to normal mode once they finish, so that they could multiplayer with you. ofc, your main save couldn't be on permadeath for this.

that said, like TpHamer realized afterwards, egg rewards from optional milestones from phases 2 to 5 are unlocked accoutn wide, and can be claimed from quicksilver shop/collect expedition rewards once on any save under the same account (even the primary save from a player might have started expedition 12 from)

if you're referring to atlas scepter, the reward from phase 3, note that it is, like all other phase and final rewards, unlocked account wide - you'd just complete expedition, goto quicksilver shop in any save under the same account, and collect it from there (collect expedition rewards)

Carrier AI worked fine for me. Under A Rebel Star refused to chart a course.

I'd select it, go the galaxy map and it would automatically switch back to free explore. With "current mission" grayed out.

Also, remember the planet will not say airless probably. I had to find a moon that was forsaken. Words like in inhabitable, forsaken, and others counts as an airless planet. The guy who responded earlier is right about the rusted metal being a key factor in finding an “airless planet”

iow, airless isn't a biome, "dead" is

airless, terraforming catastrophe, empty, dead, abandoned, etc - all those are just synonyms, the game isn't after a specific synonym, but a specific biome. rusted metal is dead biome's native mineral, it cannot spawn as mineral deposit or hotspot on any other biome

Yeah life incompatible works too. But I went to Abandoned and sometimes they don't work.

the only things that are unlocked are the phase and final expedition rewards, e.g. starborn runner, and in exp12's case, the optional milestone rewards from phases 2 to 5

Yea, some of the Expeditions will have all of the Glyphs as a reward, but most don't. Even then sometimes you will come across the Travellers in Space Stations or Trade Outposts while on the Expedition and you can go get their Glyph. If you started a new save these will transfer back to your primary, but I'm unsure what happens if you started off of an existing save via the terminal. They probably don't copy back, but I wouldn't know because my primary saves already have all of them.

Apparently your planets discovered go into the Expedition with you when you start off of an existing save. This means you can claim the Nanites for scanning all Fauna in the Expedition for any planet you've completed on your main save. The Airless planet came to me pretty much without looking (whew, I know that's a killer for most); the Sentinel ship much the same. But man I wasted time on other milestones. Used alchemy to get the cactus flesh instead of finding a desert world -- so many solanium worlds, no cactuses...

NipNip via a friendly base... and then a few warps post-black hole before realizing I was about 1.5m AU away from the expedition path and that warping back would be wiser...

Yup! TBH, I warped 3x, then bought Pyrite and killed a few hostile plants for Oxygen and the Cactus Flesh was easy at that point. I love that there are a half dozen ways of solving most problems, most of which involve a little alchemy.

Aside from getting a lot of Quicksilver and some upgrades and such, there's really no reason to do it again as far as I know. I'm doing it just for fun. Do note, you can claim the Starborn Runner in the Expedition and copy that back to your primary save to take out the Photonix Core if you happen to need more of those. https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Photonix_Core

You can add planets to your wonders (in menu hover over a planet and it should give you an options to do that)

Then those planets will be displayed like that in your personal wonders (you can also use wonders projector at a base to display then)

first option: use economy (or conflict) scanner to find outlaw systems - they will have a 💀 icon in place of the 1/2/3 stars for economy, and a 💀 icon instead of the threat level icon. visit station, buy contraband (labeled as illegal goods), sell to regular systems at trade terminals/trade outposts

second option (cheese): visit player bases with 'nip nip' in their name - they have the nip nip plant there which is illegal and counts as smuggled goods, joink it all and sell as in option 1

Yeah, the QS is why I reran it despite doing the original run and already having the rewards. (That and another photonix core for my new solar). Ended with 13, 800. Enough to finish cleaning out the regular QS store, with 10k left over.

I'd rather farm same amount with worst dailies than in expedition... for me expedition milestones are super frustrating

"get a sentinel interseptor" "go somewhere I dont know where" ok luckily i remember rv planet was dissonant "oh you need radiant brain" "oh you need advanced mining laser to mine it" JUST TELL ME WHAT I NEED FOR ENTIRE EXPEDITION AT ONCE

it's super frustrating when you keep needing new resources but you never can know in advance which resources you'll need

I guess if repeated expeditions on existing save were allowed, I could farm them by loading exact items into expedition from main save, but since I have to make new saves I have to obtain those resources again and again, while also speedrunning new saves... no thanks I'd rather collect ancient bones

first run of every expedition is especially frustrating though because you never know what you'll need ahead

like "visit ancient ruins", would be a piece of cake if I knw about it before starting expedition so I'd bring 1 ruins map with me

for the expedition im pretty sure it should have anyway sent you to a ship that give the hyaline brain (maybe im wrong too)

you should use the carrier ai given by a previous milestone, to get to a dissonant world and a specific ship (it should give you a location on the planet), then just go through the steps, no combat needed

One of the Milestones gives you the 'Ticket to Freedom' System Pass. You can activate that and it should lead you to a Pirate system.

Glacial works and for airless, the planets can be forsaken, uninhabitable, etc. usually a moon that has rusted metal

There are two ways to tell if you are in the Atmosphere. You should hear a transition noise. Then check your Discoveries Tab and you should see your marker (current location) on the planet somewhere. You don't even need to land.

My preference is the Infra-knife Accelerator. Install the two modules for that and add a couple of upgrades and you'll melt the enemies rather quickly. Also make sure you have plenty of stuff to recharge your ships shields.

All but the Glob can be claimed from the Quicksilver vendor in your main and any other save you start under that profile.

Folks are frustrated by the Glob not being available, so give HG some feedback if you want to.

I don't think it's bugged, it's the only creature that's not unique to this expedition, and you can catch it in the wild. That's probably why it's not added to the rewards in the QS.

Yes, I think they did, they needed 5 optionals, but only had 4 Expedition IDs for Eggs, so they added a custom specific generated creature egg reward to fit that spot. It's a cutie though, so maybe we should ask HG to actually turn it into a reward item instead?
