I noticed because I did most of the expedition without warping and it took me awhile of research to learn that you can't unlock the fuel until you warp, so I was very aware of the fact that I did not have any fuel for awhile

Don’t have to wait. I thought that too until I found out different here. Go to the command room and abort the mission. Then interact with the command room and debrief them and it will complete for the expedition.

I had expeditions that were 8 hours, completed them this way.

Idk what a ghost ship is but, the normandy is only usable to send on expeditions u can't land on it or interact with it. But it does spawn next to ur actual freighter or dreadnought when u summon it. U just can't board it or land on it. Basically just there for u to look at cause it looks nice.

Phase 4: Uncharted: Have to actually discover systems (just the system, no need to land on any planet). Make sure you visited the station of the last rendezvous system you've been to, take a few warps away from expedition systems (up/down/left/right, you pick), then get black hole coordinates from Polo@Space Anomaly, and go through it. Finally, warp again away from that position at the current max range of your ship, 1-3 times - that should take you into undiscovered areas.

you can see this for example with nmscord-hub

take cursor away from it, and you see Liestan (its proc gen name)

There's a way to cheat it, if you don't want to wait. Send out frigate, abort mission, debrief. It counts as completing it.

Id say pretty far away, think how many players are doing expedition, then multiply that by how many systems they have to discover. You can always go through a blackhole or 2 as long as you have a station or base to teleport back too

Player bases may not have teleporters, they won’t always (you can still visit them just not return from them)

yeah, just summoning+entering anomaly with mp enabled will leave a bunch of ghost bases in that system's station teleporter

they're not uploaded in the same system, just ghosts from the anomaly teleporter - save+reload like apergos said to refresh

bases that you can indeed download are either uploaded in the same system if using station teleporter, or owned by someone in the same instance as you in the anomaly (featured bases exception)

I don't know of any myself. There are a small number of people who unofficially compete on youtube/twitch running these expeditions, you could look at what they do; it's all glitch-free, new save, may not use items from the qs vendor etc. and only in game time counts (not real clock time)

some of your run is going to be subject to rng no matter what (e.g. the fishing milestone) so there's that to factor in

if people are trying this near rdv4 - picking up a black hole in rdv4 - then if you pick up a black hole in rdv5, or further away still past rdv5.. you get better chances of landing near regions that are completely undiscovered

So, how do you do Uncharted? You warp to any System that shows data unavailable and then what?

Phase 4: Uncharted: Have to actually discover systems (just the system, no need to land on any planet). Make sure you visited the station of the last rendezvous system you've been to, take a few warps away from expedition systems (up/down/left/right, you pick), then get black hole coordinates from Polo@Space Anomaly, and go through it. Finally, warp again away from that position at the current max range of your ship, 1-3 times - that should take you into undiscovered areas.

I rarely send goods into an expedition from a main save (I start a fresh one) but I never thought about doing it from a creative. Would take you seconds to set yourself up with everything you need. The only thing I'd lose doing it that way is my 2x2 supercharged slots (since that comes from the last multitool you had before starting)

Hey all. I'm running into an issue during the expedition with one of the milestones, the Uncharted task with discovering and uploading for nanites. I did this and confirmed by getting the Quantum Foam task completion but uncharted remains unchanged. I've also traveled to different systems but not receiving any new updates. Hey I am REALLY STOKED that they are re-running this old expedition. Is there any word on if they might do the rest of them again? My friends who have only come to the game in the last year are pretty happy to be able to do this older expedition as well! Seems like it would be a pretty easy overall way to give folks some "new" content by running the older expeditions during the months in between the new ones. The time between Expedition 15 and Expedition 16 is like what a couple months? They could do 3 or more of the old ones in that time. Hell it would be even better if you could just have that "Expedition" game type selection for a new save and let you run any of them any time you wanted. (This seems like a VERY long shot, but one can dream.) Anyway, just wanted to be sure to come say this has been awesome and me and my friends would like to do the others as well. Cheers! 🙂

hmm, I was told they had only been doing the ones that came out that year at the end of the year. As I said above, it would be SICK if we could just start up any of the old ones as a new save, even if they had to do somthing like yo not being able to export all your gear etc at the end for the old-old expeditions back to your "main" save the way you can now, or somthing. You would still unlock all the rewards at the Nexus when you do them anyway, yo ujust wouldnt be able to consolidate it all onto one save. I would take that limitation though if that was what it took to be able to do them anytime though, as long as you could use that "expedition #5 new save" as a jumping off point to keep running as its own save so you can at least keep the expedition stuff on THAT save going forward, and just get the "Nexus Rewards" on your other "main" save. anyway, heres hoping they run the others, i misse d abunch while working and raising kids, and my friends only started playing fairly recently, so that would be AWESOME ! 🙂

When the missions finish, that’s where you go to “debrief” the ships and get the rewards (money, resources, etc) that they brought back.

The mission task is described incorrectly. To start a fleet expedition you have to go to the bridge. At the desk where you can navigate your freighter and get updates etc. there is an NPC called the Navigator. You can send the fleet on a mission from him. You will then receive the expedition report at the command terminal and can complete it there.

What to do if every system I saw is already discovered 💀

go to the anomaly, talk with polo and ask for black hole coords. go there and pass through. warp 2 times as far as you can, if still not undiscovered then go back to polo and ask one more time, two more warps as far from yuo can from that black hole and it should do it. note please make sure you have visited the space station on your latest rendesvous system before doing this, so you can get back easily if needed.

depends on how well you've prepared for it (e.g. read the related pinned posts here), your general knowledge of the game's basics (e.g. how to identify biomes, how to be patient with the mission system) - on average, 4-6h completion time it seems

they need to be uncommons and specific to the frozen biome, it must say so in the description of the fish as they are caught

once you get to that milestone (pre-req: have warped out of the starter system with freighter), there will be a secondary mission on your Log called "freighter command" - select it, then follow its directions/hint. check this pinned post <#nms-expedition message>

i then put in some runaway mould and warped and when I went to check on it, the nanites weren't there but the living slime was

I personally recommend antimatter and/or things to make it. That’s not a normal req, it’s just for this one.

There’s some crafting that requires silver and gold, though that’s stuff you’ll get by mining asteroids for one of the milestones anyway.

And I believe I also used a decent amount of chromatic metal.

Did you work it out? I assume you mean Nameless History. Nothing to dig up, you want an intact structure that you can interact with. Make sure you have that quest selected while doing it or you won't get it.
