@devout adder we thought so, the pattern had been so, up until 2023 - they released 3 new expeditions, and reran expedition 3 (old, by then! off year!) with a mixed set of rewards from all past expeditions up until that year. so iow, it's not set in stone, they've shown us that.

@pine grail if you're copying ship+MT in, they'll have their entire tech inventories as they are in primary save, no need to worry about them. exosuit is a different matter. that said, expedition 16 is about portal travel, not hyperdrive travel - i'd strongly suggest following the recommendations in the first linked post i gave you earlier, and dont go warping around in your ship once you get it - stick to the expedition plan. remember that there's plenty of milestones that can be done "off-phase", meaning for example that you can do phase 2 "fear the sun" milestone as soon as you can equip your terrain manipulator (hint: switch to flatten mode)

get 5M units, goto scrap dealer, buy coords, run the derelict freighter mission, loot all boxes/suitcases/lockers, loot log snippets till you get secure credentials to get crew manifest and captains log items from the relevant terminals, sell them to scrap dealer again for more tainted metal. if you get lucky, you'll do the hypno eyes milestone in the derelict freighter too

those would work for the deep water milestone too; starter planet has water. that said, in deep water isn't mission critical for now, so you could just move on to the next milestone, and check again for a water planet in the next system you get to.

Do yourself a favor and visit the Space Station in every system you visit. There is one system in the Expedition that does not have a Space Station. Drop a Base Computer on any planet in that system so you can teleport back if you need to. Keep in mind you can summon the Anomaly later on and use it for a teleporter as well, but unless you visited the space stations or built a base computer you will have to use the portal system and Glyph charts if you need to go backwards.

this isn't news or anything - it's not the first time they've done things like this, keeps players on the look out and planning ahead. not saying this because you did anything wrong, but a gentle reminder for the future. for example, if you had reviewed milestones from all phases, your eye might have caught up on a milestone to scan animals. what kind of animals? any? ohh exotic animals. exotic? where do i find those? ask around if you didn't remember about exotic planets, gold on resource list - in the uncharted system, the one you got to via breach 2, there was an exotic planet with 3 exotic fauna species. a short side step on your way to the infested planet, and you'd have had this milestone done before you even got to phase 4. milestones don't always have to be done in order.

it really pays off, on start, to pause, turn off multiplayer to allow game to pause environment/provide weather safety, then pause, and review all milestones, even those from phases ahead

Rocangh System > Rucand Planet - worked well for me

I would fly and use the hud to locate resonators then land and scout the situation. If no quads were close I would relocate and look again or sometimes I would destroy the resonator and one would show up

@pearl nacelle what worked for me is to snipe them with my ship missle. Fly low and slow so terrain can load up. Locate the towers the squad guards them shot abd climb up 2 space 2 avoid sentinals. Repeat.

Once you are in the planet and under a storm, just use analysis visor, check for yellow icons with a little lightning. It's only 5, you can get them really quickly (usually clusters are separated by 200-300u)

typically at the end of the year, all the current year'sexpeditions are rerun on a tighter schedule with 2 weeks for each and some milestones adjusted to fit the shorter time frame
