I absolutely hate the comm balls, at best they ruin the exploration and expedition process by giving me answers or giving me the exact location that i am supposed to be searching for on my own. At worst they are an eye sore, say things in languages i can't read, just say hello or something which is stupid, are offensive, or are political or religious propaganda, and of course save the best for last..... make it much harder to land and navigate an area just so 100 people can say hello or Vote for "Whoever". Absolute worst part about expeditions hands down.

Did all that you suggested. The Quicksilver Elixir directed me right back to the same portal, and it's still asking for Glyphs instead of the Blood Elixir.
I could try from yet another planet in the same system, but I suspect I'll just get the same result.

I didn't have a successful blood portal the entire expedition. Every one shot me to a fresh system. I just used the portal glyphs in the to go to the right systems

you do not need them. you are in the system with Hijo now, right? so system Rocangh? when you get to the next system Umardag there will also be a good planet

also the glyphs for all system are pinned in here too... but again you do not need them

yes. yuo don't have to do all milestones in the phase to move on. some give rewards that aren't crucial

it is very common for players to look through milestones and knock out some early on starter worldfor example

out of order for some is expected.

All good now. Saved/Reloaded, portaled from R4 to R3 and back to R4 (hoping to refresh things some more), went to yet another planet and tried Quicksilver again, got a portal on that planet that worked.
I'm guessing that finding the portal the usual way kinda locked it into glyph-mode and bugged it against what the exped was needing.
Thanks for the suggestions. I was stuck otherwise 🙂

Hello travelers,
I´m stuck in the quest in which I´m supposed to craft and drink the quicksilver elixir...the quest progresses when I craft it but jumps back to the first step when I´m drinking it. I saw on Steam Forums thers at least one more person with this problem, but he didnt find a solution yet either.

At this point I easily drank 10 elixirs at different places (right by the portal, inside the place station, on the second planet etc.) but nothing seems to work, the second last quest of the first step of the expedition just doesnt finish and I therfor cant proceed to the last quest in that line, in which Im supposed to use the portal. Does anyone here already know of this problem and has a solution for me?

PS. I´m talking about the second last quest of Phase 1

But phase 1 is all done all the way to the last and second last quest....the quicksilver one

aspergos if you're updating faqs, maybe remind folks that when they finish they can claim the ship and egg free from the quicksilver merchant. you don't have to buy the ship with nanites from the expedition terminal

did this work for you? i.e. claim ship for free on main save after not taking it on expd save for nanites? or what did you do exactly?

because in some testing, it seems that no matter what, there will be a one time payment of nanites, whether by the expd save or the main save.

2. travel to nexus
3. at terminal, strip mission ship and reward ship, sell excess, put stuff to keep in the terminal. couldn't put the egg in so cracked it open
4. complete exp, go to main save
5. in nexus, claimed ship and tool for nanites. didn't seem to work. claimed it twice more, noticed nanites going down.
6. realised I now had 3 exp ships
7. went to quicksilver guy to get egg. noticed I could claim exp ship for free. now have 4 exp ships

if you have not already claimed it for nanites, in that 7th step you will need to pay, I think, that is what our testing showed, that is new with the last update and I hope a bug

they always let you claim multiple times, so for example the iron vulture, you could copy it multiple times (previous expd) and scrap to build new ships with those parts. note that the new ship will claim it is giving you parts but you get none, so don't do that!

you can sort of cheese it by shooting from ship (find dissonant resonator, if there's a big quad nearby, shoot with rocket launcher, move away, land, dig down into the terrain and cover over, wait until they aren't looking, repeat at 7 more locations)... it's still slow

you've got the glyphs from a phase 1 milestone. so you choose 'activate portal' option, then you likely will need to charge the portal, providing various elements in small quantities to each of 16 holders (all in the dialogue), then you'll be able to choose from the 16 glyphs clicking on them in the same order as the address you want to go

what do you want to play with? boltcaster? pulse spitter? i'd go pulse spitter, so here, some suggestions: supercharge core weapon tech. you don't need adv mining laser supercharged for sure. additionally, unlock paralysis mortar and voltaic amplifier from anomaly (for basalt you'll also want to unlock the personal refiner mk2 or alternatively the medium refiner).

alt fire paralysis mortar into a pack, blast with primary fire. stunning them stops heals, and triggers voltaic amp.

alternatively: you could possibly use a ship, if you got a ship that has hovering capabilities.

even destroy something relatively out of their patrol path so that healers go investigate, leaving spider alone

then quickly melee jetpack over to spider, stun it, blast it

buy unstable plasma from a trade terminal for para mortar ammo btw

use cloaking unit+distance to evade/de-escalate and/or reset wanted level

they're not tough to deal with, they're just a little bit more complex enemies and require some planning/strategic positioning when in battle

unless you're perma stunning them 😄

the starter system and first system derelicts have only a couple turrets (can avoid easily) and green jelllyfish (shoot with mining beam)... and a lot of loot. I recommend doing those, bring refills for the hazard prot and make use of heaters to recharge.

I got lucky with the capes. I did the exped redux that rewarded all the exped exclusive ones, but Switch didn't have capes at the time. When capes were added back into the Switch port in Echos, HG retroactively credited those 5-8 exped capes to me. Which was really cool of them, honestly.

in that case, i'd recommend going to space, pulse drive a good 5s away from it, then turn back around: open photo mode, move the sun behind you to cast light on the planet, and look closely "through the cloud layer" - you should be able to glimpse water. another tip, for when inside atmos and there's a storm going on, enter photo mode, and set fog to 0%.

If you're looking for derelict freighters in outer space, you can buy the emergency signal for 5 milllion at the back of any space station next to the appearance modifier

then you have to run at least one. some people have had to run two, not able to get teh free one from Helios, very expensive... so just trying to head that off, make sure that players get the captain log and the crew manifest and loot enough crates to get that 600
