So yeah, 200k+ creature (bird) - Base is in place (just scan all 4 kinds of birds around the base beacon) - I have 2x (S) upgrade for Scanning bonus - the scan itself was around 240k Units - make sure you have Fauna % scan bonuses in place (possibly S)

what are the limits on base uploads in expeditions, if any at all? I'm assuming bases you uploaded get converted to normal save bases when you complete the expedition, so even though I completed it, I have a second expedition save specifically for what I have in mind. I want to setup a bunch of bases with the sole purpose of helping people complete this expedition. I already have one in the starting system. Can I put one in each of the major systems? Or is there some sort of limit I don't know about?

The idea is that I won't ever complete the expedition on this save so any bases I setup will remain available to people for the entire duration of the expedition.

Drop a saving point before you scan it. if the milestone doesn't pop up, reload save and try again on another creature.

alright second base setup to help players: this one is an underwater base at an underwater ruin, and before you mention the chests, this one in particular is at max depth and you can access the chests without digging (by just looking down)

so you can complete the 80u depth milestone and the aquatic treasure milestone at this base

it's located in the first rendezvous system

may not work as well on console but should work fine on pc

I know players can't dig the terrain of bases they don't own, that's why I chose one that lets you reach the chests without digging

No, but I restarted on a new Expedition save, went to a corrosive planet, scanned the first animal and completed it. My buddy, whom was teamed up with me last night, came to the same creature, scanned it and it didn't register for him. He created a new save after, came back to the same creature (de-teamed from me), scanned it and...it worked perfectly.

Now though, we can't get Hunter/Killer to work despite having multiple animals engrage on us.

Don't know which one the "wolf," is, but this creature is called "X. Zerocleae," and actually is in the starter system on Aieus S3. It's considered a Rare animals which may be why I'd been on that planet and scanned most of the ground animals, but didn't get this one?

phase 2 stage 4. but if you find a toxic world early it might trigger. because of how the record system works, you gotta be luck that it's the first creature you scan. because the first one i scanned was a blood pH 3.0 and it jumped up to 3.2 on another planet entirely. you need 2.5

i think preferred expedition 10. that one was more story driven. i got it done in 5 hours without base building and with minimal grinding. this one requires the grind

If you'd like to "fastrack it," you could land on a starter planet, dig into the ground, carve out a small-ish cave with the Level Terrain tool, this will reward you with the entire Portal Glyph Set from the Expedition. Then, find a portal nearby, use the address in the top image to go directly to the planet, then you should find the beetle nearby.

Copper refines into Chromatic metals and you find it using the Visor to spot it in the ground as a deposit.

Usually, yeah. Sometimes you can find it for sell at space stations, but it's pretty easy to find it on foot and typically the deposits are pretty hefty, especially if you drill it out with a small mining radius.

@mystic belfry to be honest, I probably wouldn't start the Expedition with a friend UNTIL you completed the "Corrosive Blood," Chapter of the Expedition. It seems to be bugged at the moment and really seems to stumble a lot of people as of right now. So, I would start the Expedition solo, complete that particular chapter, have your friend complete it as well, then team up. For whatever reason, teaming up seems to make things...wonky sometimes.

check your fauna discoveries, if you already scanned creature with blood ph ..it will stay bugged untill they patch it ....if you have not scanned anything yet , then get glyphs planet and go scan that creature ( don't scan any others untill then)

You must start a new save in Expedition mode, during an expedition event. You may save edit it to fix issues, but I assume you must be careful with what you change to avoid potential conflicts you may have with the progression of the expedition, if you plan to finish it legit.

We haven't received any official word of a fix, at least not in HG's patch notes thus far. We're not sure if it's something that HG can fix in their servers without it requiring a code release. We encourage players to submit the bug report via their Zendesk to help raise awareness about it too.

You do start a brand new save in Expedition mode. You start from scratch following the expedition specific milestones. The main rewards you earn (from phases and expedition completion) become cross-save (as in you can claim them in any of your other existing or future saves). There's more helpful info in the pins in this channel. Don't hesitate to ask questions or bring up concerns. I do highly recommend reading these two pins:
