The last planet I am missing is the swamp one. The problem there is that the types of planets can have more names. Also if you get exploration guild mission to take photo of a planet, it hints you in which system the planet is.

yes that's exactly it, 5 missions that give explorer reputation

no, you need explorer guild missions from the board, you need enough standing with that system's race to be able to take those missions (standing 5?)

you got korvax standing from a milestone so you should be able to grab from korvax systems with no problem

for my second run I believe I stacked 3 sentinel killing missions from the korvax rendezvous systems then took an extra 2 from the rv1 system, it was pretty quick.

and the third one from the rv1 system takes you to the planet with the striders in prazlich (or at least it did for me) so that was a nice bonus

not sure if its always the same missions for everyone or if they're account-specific, but both my runs of the expedition had the same missions in the same order

Also, if you're on PC, you can bind the ship camera view to a number key by pressing control + number (not numpad) with it selected in the quick menu, and then just pressing that number will switch between first and third person.

If you click on the objective in the expedition menu, it should give you a mission in log. Its popup then guides you through the cooking process.

You need a milk for it, other ingredients should be gained from the egg collecting and given by the rewards from the other mile stones.

If you are looking for guides there, try checking pinned posts there.

Or maybe Wiki is useful.

And if you already made the cake, you just give it to the guy and then the objective should be done. You need to pick the reward at the expedition tab though in the pause menu.

I couldn’t find any in the pinned posts, sorry. I figured out how to bake a cake, but he didn’t like it. I read you have to make a “weird” cake, and none of the ingredients seem to work. I’ll keep trying though

I did make the cake resource, forgot its name. Then I combined it with the juice I had in the inventory.

And he liked it.

The game advises one to experiment with resources once having the cake resource, so there are probably more cakes one can make.

Hello all o.o just started the expedition a bit late and I am confused by something I read online. It says that the first expedition lasts until the 8th on the NMS site but the game itself says it ends in 5 days... So which is it?

should be that you can't start a new save after 48 hours before the end

but the expedition itself should run up to the 8th

doesn't need to be any specific kind of cake, but you are given enough materials to bake 15-16 honey cakes (recipe in the pins) so you might as well use those. its rng if cronus will like it or not so it may take a few.

nope, that's all save-specific. You could arrange to have a friend hold tradeable things for you while you switch saves but to me it seems like more trouble than its worth.

look for the cakes in your inventory, find another item in the same inventory that is showing up in the choices to give to Cronus, swap those two items (drag one over the other, then they will trade places), then do the dialogue again

ingredients will not work, don't give them to Cronus, it's a waste

two S scanner upgrades, make sure they have fauna multipliers, if they don't, the space station at the rendezvous 2 system sells them too

then scan some creatures, a few are bound to be rare and give you what you need

note that you can manual save before installing that 3rd scanner, reload if it doesn't give the right thing

and also reload to buy more at the space station. you can replace the scanners with no fauna multipliers if you have them

What kind of planets have “ancient bones”? I’m almost done!

For the ancient bones milestone: when scanning a planet from space it will list if it has ancient bones or not. For this expedition, planet Moga in the rendezvous 5 system (Dikenni-Akes) has ancient bones.

For the milestone that asks you to tame a beetle the second rendezvous planet, Retleibe, in the Oprudn V system, has two different species. You can also use the tamed beetle to complete the milestone for traversing 2000u mounting a flying companion.

As far as I know, but happy to be corrected:

1. You will never see your base from one of your saves on another of your saves
2. Expedition saves are not concurrent in the same game instances as normal saves, until you complete the expedition and it then converts to normal. That is, players currently in an expedition and normal players will never encounter each other, or their bases

I have finally found swamp planet, thanks to somebody who marked the planet with a base (as it was Endless morass biome). Meanwhile I did randomly some other objectives from future stages.

Weird is though that there is also objective for finding creatures on swamp planet, yet it isn't in the same stage as the objective of looking for the planets.

I know of this, but as I have time for it, I tried to find it by randomly jumping in surrounding systems, to find out how long it will take.

Now the latest time consuming objective (unless there is another surprise) is probably going to be the 200 000 💰 value of scanned creature.

I did install some upgrades for scanner and so far I got I think around 100 000 💰 for a scan.

that depends on how many of the installed upgrades give a bonus to Fauna. With all 3 upgrades being S class and with bonus to fauna, half the creatures you scan will be worth more than 200k

second rendezvous station sells S class scanner upgrades if needed, and you can restock the shop by saving and reloading.

So far I was trying to buy randomly scanner upgrades from space station which I encountered.

I think I got 3× 1,xx more value.

I think I had 2 upgrades giving 7000ish and another with 8000ish, I put the bigger one in a supercharged slot, in a configuration like:
S Z
C S
with C being the supercharged slot, and Z being the basic scanner tech, for the adjacency bonuses. It all helps.

There's a difference between offline and with no internet connection. To see the original name you'd need to have no internet connection active, say by turning off your wifi or pulling out an ethernet cord.

That doesn't mean that the internet connection is getting to the same device where the game is being played.

Even with multiplayer disabled, the game still connects to the hello games servers to get uploaded bases and discoveries, and a handful of other things like quicksilver missions.

there are, for most cases, but its hard to quantify the bonuses. For example, try putting a basic hyperdrive in there and you'll see the max jump distance will go up. No idea how to tell how much of an effect its having on things that don't have listed numbers tho.

well, my recommendation would be to first get out of the starter planet, use the free pet while there for a bit to get the first milestone done, which will get you creature pellets. When you get to the first rendezvous planet, do the feeding 8 creatures / picture of 10 creatures / collect 20 poop milestones. Also induce an egg from your free pet. Then after that, start working on the eggs milestone for phase 3, which will all be done in that area, grab the explorer mission at the space station, and probably do the underwater scanning / get grabbed by abyssal horror milestones in that system since it has a lot of water planets. Might as well start scanning some flying creatures when you see them, need 4 scans for another milestone, but that doesn't need to be finished in there.

Collect the reward that gives a hyperdrive upgrade and install it next to your hyperdrive before moving on to rendezvous 2. Then as you go from RV1 to RV5 stop at every station to grab explorer missions if there are any, buy a S class scanner upgrade from the RV2 station, and keep going from rendezvous to rendezvous while trying to get the sightseer milestone done, as shown here: #nms-expedition message

Keep in mind that at least for me, doing 3 explorer missions at the RV1 station, the third sent me to the planet with tall eggs, so you might consider trying that, two birds with one stone type deal.

Right. Its really easy. Pet eggs are for breeding. Food eggs are for eating. Food eggs don't have the 24 hour cooldown, pet eggs do. The cooldown for getting food eggs is like, 30 seconds. And they can never come from pets, its from feeding random non-pet animals and interacting with them to collect resources while they're full (+ icon on top of them)

Save before installing each S class. If no fauna, reload, package one of your lower class ones, reinstall the one you just packaged, then install the S class... still no good, reload, repackage C class, reinstall, repackage, reinstall, install S class... repeat as needed, increasing the number of repack-unpack by one each time you reload.

Well, some of them. Creature eggs and giant eggs are actually pretty common all over the expedition path. That's basically long necked and short necked dinosaur-like creatures. Tall eggs are more of a challenge, from striders (two legged creatures like the pet you start with).

When scanning a planet from space it will list if it has ancient bones or not. For this expedition, planet Moga in the rendezvous 5 system has it.

Today I got the 200k 💰 objective done. I kept travelling through star systems and the result was buying a multitool with two overcharged tech slots. And getting three scanner upgrades - one X from hostile 🏴‍☠️ s with big multiplier. One A and one B. And with them I did it on the next rare creature.

You just keep petting it until its heart bar goes full.

Honestly, I was done about 2/3rds of the total goals by rendezvous 1, and almost all the goals by the time i got to rexndezvous 2.

I ditched the starting companion to make room for another one (mistakes were made). The happiest companion I have now is at 80%, and it's been fully fed with plenty of ear scritches.
