From Galaxy #98 is this Black and yellow dragonfly with full wings, half sled landing struts, a stinger, long spine back, and it even has lasers on the outer wings alongside the outer wing thrusters. Quite a nice ship for the taking!

Finally got into the encounter! I ended up choosing the blue one(SS-2 Tenridium).

Btw is there a quicker way to check the class other than defeating the pirates then going to the vehicle bay to scan?

No, unless you're doing the method of warping in+out to trigger pirate dreadnought events that avoids having to reload, which means you can do it with a corvette which allows you to exit the seat and use your analysis visor in space to see their classes

with the non-pirate-dreadnought events, exiting the seat of a corvette creates a restore point, even if docked with a freighter

it also deletes the event if done while not docked with the freighter in those normal events, due to a bug

most searching functionality fully expects the portal glyphs to be available, unfortunately

there's no easy way to "mark coordinates and physically travel to them"

Looks different, orange isn't really my color and it has the parts that overhang the cockpit in front (visible in first person view from the cockpit, not so much of a deal in 3rd person.) The rear view looks pretty nice though.

If you're in the same Solar System and use Eco twice, you will get the same Ship. In other galaxy's, you will find ships with almost the exact same color and build. Might be a very minor difference like color, wing, antenna and so on.

Okay- legacy folk. I made a Radiant Pillar BC2 (Native S class Radiant Pillar) - I know that isn't a huge thing. It is only worth sharing because I never liked the 'cost' of upgrading my starter ship to the max. when there were so many other options. But you have to admit - it's one of the most space-ship looking ships. slick, neat... if anyone remembers another 'starter ship' I'd love to see it. (one thing that didn't replicate, my starter Pillars always have a 55 on the side. this one has some NMS alpha code or letters) I'll do pictures later I mean you all know what it looks like. 🙂

With corvettes they will be able to get in, but you would still need to screenshot the tech layouts

corvettes have a walkable interior so you can essentially live out of a corvette with no main homebase on a planet

thats what differentiates them the most from regular ships, plus theyre completely modular and can be built similar to how youd use prefabs on a planet

Freighters are basically mobile bases. They've got everything. Corvettes are the middle, they've got most things you need but can land or hover so you don't use launch fuel.

Certain trade-offs with corvettes keep the other starships useful, could change once some corvette issues get worked out but will require game updates and possibly new (base) parts.

Most of the time your "legacy" ship wont get stuck in parts of your base when you teleport to it, while a corvette nearly always clips into parts.

as soon as you have the dig thing you can find a planet with salvage scrap and then go to the containers and break them for parts take to space station and right infront of the starship landing docks theres a console interact with it and you can build them! ^^

sentinel ships are awesome you can just charge everything with radiant shards a easy common resources

How many models of exotics ships are there?

Many gazillions like all other ship types, split between two shapes: the "royal" variant and the "squid" variant.

The royal ones have a somewhat limited amount of variations and colors, all featuring the "ball" and their royal flair in either gold or silver

The "squid" ones make up only 5% of all exotic ship designs, and feature no variation at all besides color which isn't limited like the royal ones (the tentacles extend in flight and retract in landing)

Ive been debating on keeping around the starting ship of the breach expedition for fun, I cant quite tell what type of ship it is though?
Is it an explorer, fighter, or what?

Now im kinda wondering how to use my ships most effectively, Ive got a fighter, exotic, and explorer I all really enjoy (i keep my corvette for big missions or multiplayer fun)

The explorer does kinda feel a bit redundant with how powerful a freighters hyperdrive is though

I am fairly utilitarian so my main driver is a sentinel ship, stats is quite comparable to that of fighter, but has maximum cargo capacity, faster in atmosphere speed and comes in cute mini shape. My only other ship type is an corvette for things that's best done on corvette, but other than that I barely use any other ship types. Hauler is strictly worse than corvette since that's the Corvette's base stat, I am not a fan of solar sails (they look cool, but it covers too much of my screen). Exotic is a fine ship type but I prefer interceptor's effects, and explorer's main strength is in the, IMHO, weakest thing to be strong at, and I don't usually hop more than a few hundred LYs per hop even exploring, and at that range, even a fighter can easily do that so...

Decided Ill archive the explorer, its mostly just a relic now anyways

When it comes to sentinel vs exotic I mostly choose the exotic for its far higher shield capabilities, though the sentinel is definitely the best for hovering over a planets surface and has a very slight attack boost compared to the exotic

The sentinel ship definitely has a really cool vibe though, that I cannot deny

plus the starborn runner is just kinda cozy (its the exotic im gonna use)
