The Wraith is as good as any other living ship, so it would be better to compare the two types of ship in general

What’s the hype with the sentinel ships? I use one but I don’t fully understand the hype

Mostly the fact that they hover in-atmosphere, go much faster in-atmosphere than any other ship, look cool and have neat animations and that's really it

It's mostly up to preference, their maneuverability is definitely weird compared to other ships which when not upgraded can feel bad when not boosting

They turn like a dump truck in an alleyway, they have high boost manoeuvrability potential, which means you have to be boosting to get that full manoeuvrability because of this they have a low turning speed, this makes them score on the low end for dog fights.

(Ok the dump truck is a stretch, they aren’t that bad just something to keep in mind)

Sure, what specific “cockpit ships” are you wanting?

Not all ship types will work and not all “cockpit” portions work the way you may think (by work I mean that ship type and cockpit model has a cockpit scene we can have as a functional ship)

Fighters and haulers have a few types that will work, if we use fighter as an example I can tell you that out of the 9 nose/cockpit portions, only 4 will retain the nose portion and the rest won’t, this is because the nose and cockpit are one “model/scene” whereas those other 5 have a separate scene for cockpit and nose, this results in this cockpit.

This convo would be better suited for #nms-modding

If you have a ship cockpit you want in mind, dm me and we can discuss getting you one, but I need more information as to what you want.

Aside from them obviously being not normal, they work like any other ship in that regard, these are literally just changing a scene no other part gets changed.

If it’s a crashed normal ship, reload the mission using a nearby structure option if it’s not there either after 1-2 seconds, reload your restore point and restart the mission using a nearby structure option, after 1-2 seconds the game gonna replace the crashed fighter with this ship!

Any freighter is good enough for your first freighter, class isn't very important for them especially when you're so early that you can't use the real benefits of an S-Class one for a while, which are upgrading the warp range to crazy levels, maximizing frigate expedition stuff or maxing the inventory size which isn't too important since you can build storage containers aboard your freighter

It was from Expedition 16: The Cursed and isn't really officially earnable anymore and has lots of trouble being traded between other players, but you could use the community-made Service Bot's Expedition Reward Unlocker function (just set your current ship to one you don't mind exchanging for it, and follow the instructions very carefully)

It should be a good idea to locate different crash sites (class is based on the crash site, so finding new ones means more chances at higher classes)

Sometimes they've bugged out before and sent me to the same crash site over and over, but that was back when they first released and I was with a bunch of people in multiplayer

The closest I could get to a Battlestar Galactica Viper. The lore doesn't have Vipers mark 4, 5 or 6, so I placed this as Mark 5. I had the triple engine piece, but the wings had engines, too, so I went with the single large engine to keep it to 3 total engines.

Nope that’s two separate thing, don’t need living ship for frigates!

You get your first living frigate if you have a dream aerial and pulsing in space it’s gonna say in screen whale song detected!
After your first encounter with anomaly detractors!

So how you unlock the dream aerial:
you send out freighter expeditions, and it has a very little chance(close to zero) that you get the dream aerial blueprint, and you need to build it!

Those are rare, Exotic Royal ships are a 1 in 301 chance in any inhabited system, and Exotic Squid ships make up 1 in 20 exotic ships!

Easy enough to acquire funds if you hunt Sentinel ships. I've got a massive amount of credits just from scrapping sentinels. If I find one I like I hunt for a A or better. I'll keep scrapping B and C's. I can afford to buy any ship I come across

My next project I'm thinking of doing up is my Blessed-nZ. It's a sentinel ived dubbed "Superman" it's blue with red wings and back with a wide cab and single eye face. 4 front prongs and 9 thrusters.

If you ever do reset you will end up in another system. But you will be able to portal back to Euclid if you have bases there.

For me it depends. I will always take a A off planet regardless of If like it or not, not only because A class scrap for higher but you also usually get a storage augmentation as well which can be used to upgrade the inventory on ships you want to keep and do up

They can only be found on dissonant worlds, land on one and locate Dissonance Resonators, walking up to them will tell you what they drop.
You need an Echo Locator, so keep looking at Dissonance Resonators until they have one and then destroy it to get the Echo Locator
Using the Echo Locator points you towards a Harmonic Camp, which have the ability to locate Sentinel Interceptor crash sites, it's recommended to place a save beacon or claim a base computer at one that you find since they can be reused many times

Supercharge slot placement via upgrading the class of something takes into account the seed of that thing, which is set in stone for that thing, it's what determines the visual design of that thing too

It wouldnt change it on the ship but say you have asupercharged slot in slot x but your current ship of said kind doesnt have said slot so was thinking of buying slot when it is a supercharged one for the session

Cause Ive noticed in the same system thay some ships will not have the same slots despite being same class and type but in a different session

Maybe, it may be based on the class you encounter them as for their initial SC slot layout

I just know that upgraded ships and tools SC placement is predestined, and also SC slots in yet-to-be-uncovered slots are already there, they aren't manifested when you reveal them

But it can only be bought from them if Goods Availability = Abundant, in the difficulty settings
You can find worlds with Sodium as a mineral that can be mined from mineral deposits, which may be a better way to get it

So it could vary a lot, solar ships are very cheap and the systems they are most commonly found in have a 5% chance of things being S-Class

There’s more to it than just finding a dissonant planet though, just so you know — search the web for the instructions because I can’t remember the steps, but you have to know where to look for the crashed interceptors, and that works via 2 methods I can think of that require special objects you use to either get you to one directly (with a thing I think that sometimes drops from destroying sentinel freighters) or via locating an autophage camp with an Echo Locator (found by killing a special type of sentinel until they drop one) on that planet and using their machine to give you the directions

sentinel ship hunting can be done in 3 ways

1. complete a level 5 wanted run in space, where you take down a sentinel capital ship. gives you a carrier fragment, which directly leads you to a ship

2. you do the level 5 wanted run, but on ground on the dissonant planet. again, leads directly to a ship

There are 2 ways. The first is the most reliable. Find a dissodent planet. Fly around the planet looking for Dissodent Resonators to kill. They mainly drop inverted mirrors, but what your looking for them to drop are echo locators. When you get a echo locator to drop, activate it. If there is a Harmonic camp in the system it will direct you. Crack the sequence at the camp and search for Dissodent spikes. Rinse and repeat at the camp to hunt multiple of the same ship. Second method isn't recommended but destroying a Sentinel Capital ship will give you a AI fragment which is a one time use to find one ship.

3. you use an echo locator. its a drop from those purple drills, 20%chance. they lead you to a camp. you have to do a little math, solve a puzzle, and can keep getting the same camp to lead you to different ships. again, the same single harmonic camp can help you find multiple ships

I usually hunt multiple until I get a A or better of the ships I like and want to keep. It's good for you, helps you to build credit and you can rip components off them before you scrap them to throw on other ships. Saves having to install them using resources

You can find a portal but u need to unlock all the glyphs by talking to a glitchy npc that sometimes spawn. Personally i would just finish the story because at one point, it makes you get the glyphs via hyperdriving

If able, hunting Freighters in Outlaw systems is preferable. I do believe normal three star economies have a 2% or 3% chance of S-Class while Outlaw having 5%.

Upgrade module names are procedurally random, but yeah I got a Gek system with S-Class launch thruster upgrade modules!

It's random per installation of them, installing one increments an RNG number that's solely allocated for upgrade modules

Though S-Class launch thruster upgrades are always the same pretty much, lowering launch cost by 20%

Keep doing expeditions until you get the blueprint for the dream aerial, this is required to get your 1st living frigate, then you can farm astroid field for anomaly detectors to get more living frigates

This is what I'm working with. I have been searching for about three hours for the Dissonance Resonators with absolutely no luck. No signs of the Sentinels or anything - I have no idea what to do.

You should be able to see them using your Analysis Visor, though worlds that are very mountainous or islandy sometimes fail to generate them as frequently on the surface

I would advise just goint to another star system with a dissonant world to find Dissonance Resonators to see if they are more common on those other worlds
