anyone know what ship this is? its from a video by a guy named Dirt The Gamer about falling from a freighter to a planet in NMS, but ive never seen a ship like this before, much less one that moves parts around when you launch it

It is a salvaged Sentinel Interceptor, found on Dissonant worlds

They can be somewhat hard to come by but one method I use is

Land on Dissonance type world

Find one of them giant Dissonance Echo towers and see if it's one that drops an Echo Locator

Use the Echo Locator to find the Autophage Camp

Lift the Lockdown on the Autophage Camp

Select the option "Scan for Dissonance Spikes"

And that will lead you to a Sentinel Interceptor that's yours for the taking

Not sure if I'd call it a Guppy. Guppies tend to be known as the very small ones. Id probably describe it as a Royal with V wings as it has Royal nose and fin. If you want it searchable, I'd throw exotic in somewhere in description too.

mosquitos for needloe noses and small side wings

royals are very ambiguous but usually its the ones with also top fin and long nose

All exotic designs should be equally rare to each other though.

all-black are pretty rare, yes. Solid colors are rare in general, usually you see some combination of warm colors (red, orange, yellow) with black/white. Cool color combos (blue, green) are a little more rare than warm, and grayscale (gray/black/white) are pretty rare.

Sentinel Interceptors can be found on the majority of dissonant planets. Class of ship varies each crash site. Chance of s class in outlaw is 5%, 3* is 2%, 2* is 1% and 1* near enough impossible.

if u started expedition from ur main save u can transfer multiple. if u go back to main aave from the menu u can duplicate ship at the anomaly, then go back into expedition, switch ship and go back to main save, and u can dupe that one now too. thats how people got all 3 iron vulture parts last expedition

after 2 dqys of excuciating Salvagedata farming for trade ive got all the parts of the ship i wanted and the way it wanted it to be. just wanted to show the result of my question on the iron vulture a few days ago :)

How are you able to make a ship

you need the parts, in any spac3 station in the bqck left of the base is a terminal on which you can salvage the entire ship for units or take out one part per salvaged ship. once you have all the parts you want you go upstairs and purchase a reactor of your prefered quality from the ship module merchant.. then you go bqck down to the center console, put the parts together and now you got your ship with the desired parts

in my case i purchases the parts of the iron vulture from another player and salvaged the wings from a crashes ship off of a distress signal event on the planet

probably a good use for all the C class ships you sift through looking for nice ones

shoot, I need to go back in and figure out the galaxy, but it's probably the default

been ages

yeee its my prefered moneyfarming method.
buy a bunch of Distress Signal Charts from the Chartstore, use them until it has placed one of each possible event (abandoned Bulding, crashed freighter, and so on) then only do the distress Signals. since it can only place one of each things per system. at the crashed ship distress signal i then use my brestacked pile of Metalplates, hermetic seals, Di-hydro and Pure ferrite, repair the 2 parts required to fly the thing, loot the 3-4 chests at the spot (one usualy has a Navsignal, so i come out +/-0 from farming liek this. dig up the burried tech thats at every location (1-4 slavaged data) and then fly off, use another chart, get a distress signal again because all other things are already placed, rinse repeat. takes me ~30seconds to clear out one of those plots at this point^^

oh and the salvaged data i find while doing that i trade in the tradechannel for stuff from past explorations, like the vulture parts.

You need to jump to an uncharted system. Charted systems are like on the left picture, with a race attached to the syste. Uncharted systems dont have anything like in right picture. Jump to uncharted system then jump back

So you will need a minimum of a Cadmium drive

you have to actually farm it, its a 5% chance to get anything other than C class.
Just play 3 hrs, warp 4 times and save, then find a pirate controlled star system and warp there on your 5th try.
Defeat the dreadnought, land and see what class it is, if its C, reload save and try again.
But its 95% chance for C class, and 5% for B,A,S Class, all of them, so might as well grind for S class

First get parts from either abandonned/crashed ship by repairing them and bringing them to a space station to salvage the bit you want. Or you buy one with one part you want to pilots (npcs). When you get a pair of wing, the cockpit, engines and a reactor with nanite, you can assemble it.

The reactor has to be bought with nanites. Or found in chest/mission

(All parts needs to be for the same type of ship also)

Also, parts can be traded between players.

Buy five, use them all at once (it might say you can't, but just click it again until it works) then ignore anything that isn't a downed ship signal. There's one where it's just a stranded pilot, you will be able to tell because there is no comm ball looking then at the crash site, ignore that one as well

Alot or maybe not alot depends on what class of star system you are farming in. Outlaw systems have 5% chance of S class and 1 star systems have a virtual Impossible chance of getting s class.

Even in outlaw systems it can be 5min or 5 hours or more.

When it comes to price, exotics as with all other ships, depends on how many inventory slots it spawns with. The more inventory slots, the more expensive a ship will be. Price of exotics start at around 18million upto 42 million. The trouble is exotics are usually that rare to spawn, you don't really want to be waiting for the next one, cause it might be cheaper. Id recommended if actively looking for an exotic, to go with a minimum of 42mill, as it can be several hours for one to spawn.

Some cargo can be transferred in comparison screen to the new freighter if that freighter has enough cargo space
But leftover cargo and technology you need to transfer somewhere before you exchange or it'll be lost

You see that round console in the middle at your bridge? One of the panels will be freighter upgrade terminal, you can unlock blueprints for hyperdrive upgrades there using frigate salvaged modules

You can get your first freighter for free. After you've been playing for 3 hours and warped 5 times, an event will appear - pirates attacking a freighter. If you help fight off pirates, they'll give you the freighter for free (understandably so, since the defending side has MASSIVE skill issues). If you decline, the event will happen again after you meet the requirements (which get reset). You can reroll this event by making a restore point at a station each time before warping, after the 3 hour mark has passed.

Now, the freighters come in two general types/classes: normal freighters and capital freighters. If you refuse your first two freighters, every freigher after that will be a capital class. It looks way cooler because it's bigger and I believe it has better stats as well?

To make sure you get the S class, you can either warp to systems with a tier 3 economy, or to pirate systems. In tier 1 economies, the S class freighter will never spawn. In tier 2, it's a 1% chance. Tier 3: 2%. In outlaw systems, it's a 5% chance, BUT it has less initial slots. It's not a big problem because you can expand them later on, but something to keep in mind. I also noticed that in pirate systems you only have to fight 6 pirates instead of 10 in tier 3 economies, so this might speed up the grind a bit.

Also, if you don't like the look of the freighter, you should search for a different system. Its look doesn't change if you reroll in the same system.

wait nvm, the thing I was using to check ship part rarity was adding on parts whenever I changed the cockpit type, that changed the results quite a bit

Much prefer pirate dreadnoughts to other freighter designs

I understand why people like the star destroyers, but I used one (max size) for my expedition and it just feels too thin. If it was a little beefier it'd be great. Sentinel is cool, like the design, but the launch bays are a problem.

With a key word like red silver exotic so if someone is searching the channel will be able to find your ship easier

They can be found in outlaw systems and High conflict systems, and can spawn outside of the 3hr and 5 jumps rule. Yes

Common technique is to make a save point or beacon there, and make sure you don't park your ship on the pads, to give another slot for NPCs. Watch the first batch that spawns on reload, no exotic, reload save.

also you can make hunting all freighters easier by saving before warping, and if u get a freighter event u can keep reloading save and checking different systems. landing on a npc freighter wont make a new restore point so u can check class and slots and all that

Yeah, I am aware of that strategy, although there is couple of things I actually wanted to ask, as I could not find an answer.... When saving and reloading, I always get the same freighter type, right? So I would have to go to a different system to get a different one, when I am hunting a specific one. And if yes, does encountering the battle itself and not participating already trigger the 3 hour cooldown or not?

keep in mind outlaw systems have 85% C chance but 5% S chance, hunting in a 3 star economy 3star conflict systems would be much better chance for B or A class, and 2% S chance. if u want a S class, outlaw system is better but still can take a suuuper long time, and seeing a C class almost every time makes it really monotonous. id probably recommend not going for S class unless ur just going for completionism
