I don't think there are any companions that can't lay eggs, just that some save-edited companions may be too large, so the eggs they lay will be too large to collect

Also aquatic fauna can't be interacted with as companions from my experience so similar case there

They are save edited, the specific creature type (Flyingsnake or sandworm) can’t be tamed in the vanilla game, you would need to save edit (or the service bot) or get one traded to you from someone that already has one.

The combinations you have made there wouldn’t be possible with the egg from the expedition worm.

AFAIK the expo worm has only 2 possible model combinations using the sequencer.

In a way this applies to other pets that you normally wouldn’t have access to, but for those it really depends on creature ID.

Worms work pretty fine, i wouldn’t be surprised if they got added as a tameable with an addition of better jetpack fuel to make taming them reasonably normal.

Most other pets that fit the “exist but can’t be tamed” category are cool but still buggy in general and can cause clipping issues.

Those appear on every single 'bubbling world' planet you ever find. Planets with the 'unusual' biome types like bubbling are the more lifeless and/or anomalous planets and they always have exactly 1 fauna type, and it's always the same. For bubbling planets it's that bubble creature. Not uncommon at all really, actually entirely predictable to find

Unfortunately, it's a complaint HG has heard for years, but once you've put enough time into NMS you realize there's not actually that much variety between planets and things start to get very repetitive. It has improved over the years, but it's definitely still a reality for long time players. That's why a lot of folks get caught up in trying to find highly specific but rare combinations of assets that the procedural generator rarely produces, like crabs with mushrooms on their backs, etc etc

That's a bubble lush world, not a weird bubble world. Bubble weird worlds are a subtype of weird, which each have their own glitchy gimick like bubbles, bone-things, metal etc

Each of the weird ones has their own singular fauna that roams them, unless their fauna is replaced in uncharted systems by synthetic or glowy fauna (they also never have storms)

The bubble ones look very barren and dead besides the bubbles and solidified bubbles, with the silly balloon creatures roaming

No real pattern on that regard, that rerun just happened to have the reward, that worm type is just the ID type Flyingsnake which majority of worm creatures people save edit will be that same type just different model, other types could be the sandworm or overrides from other ids, but typically Flyingsnake is used

When pet has full stats and is in native biome it can lay an egg. Then u wait until it hatches. U can modify the egg on anomaly to make it bigger/smaller, color change.

Growth hormone makes them bigger or smaller depending on material
Dye injector changes color, the color is based on this chart here

Gene Splitter re-randomizes features of the companion, like which parts it has, which patterns it has etc

Neural Calibrator changes it's behavior, some items make it more Playful or Helpful, some might affect it's Gentleness/Aggression, and some items affect their Devotion/Independence.
The main thing that affects is which "dialogue" the creature makes, more aggressive ones will make roars and stuff

Also sometimes creatures can mark stuff and even attack things for you I think? I've never gotten in a situation that's led to that though
