Yup, they'd be perfect for making another gamemode. Like managing your ship's internal structure and team running it. Could even go as far as to make specific types, like an exploration freighter or a fighting freighter but don't keep it permanent so you can change it's structure later. It's also beneficial as it can teach you how to run a team and how to manage things irl.
Though in action it might just be straight anarchy

Corvettes should have copy+pastable share codes; the UI would tell you what parts are required, but if you have them you can exactly reconstruct a corvette design.
The nomad exocraft can drive on water, it should really be able to be summoned on water too

my biggest problem with parking a corvette against a structure is getting the altitude right, because you can't really (or at least I can't) get the right angle to do so with the third person camera. and forget about using the 1st person view
I mean, instead of a landing pad, could do like a docking link where the corvette hovers a certain distance above it at a base or settlement

Something I've wanted ever since my 6th hour on the game was stuff like big battles against space fleets AND other creatures on land. I've wanted to create a whole empire, send them into battle, make elite units, deploy with them in either mechs or drop pods, and just see and get involved in the chaos
If nothing else please add the ability to create an empire and make DEPLOYABLE AND USABLE drop pods on my freighter base
And I know that the whole point is to use spaceships and stuff, but it would be cool to fly around in a in-atmosohere only vtol helicopter

Hear me out... Wormholes... They appear in one system, and link to other systems. But they can be either in the same galaxy, or another galaxy. They can remain permanent, or after a time period (say a few days or months) disappear.
What if you could build one in an asteroid base? It could connect directly to another asteroid base in another system

What we have right now is good but it could be pushed closer to what Minecraft offers with redstone

And additionally an auto switch that switches the same tick; this would make digital logic a lot quicker and the old auto switch would still have a place too.

Yeah I've found my biggest gripes are that the wire lock on to parts is a bit too sensitive for fine wire pathing, and having auto switches always activate next tick slows down a lot of computation potential

i think it should be time to do another bug fix patch. While it the game has been pretty clean in the last 1-2 years, aince voyagers I’ve experienced more andmore bugs
I think an interior teleporter module for corvettes would be cool. it wouldnt let you teleport there but would otherwise have the same functions as other portals (in freighters, bases etc.)
I hope we can get aquariums to put our catches in, I like fishing :)

Also it would be nice to have corvette wreckage farming available outside of the expedition.
Ooh and we can cook food so we should get a food hunger bar. The beds in the corvettes should be interactive, you can sleep in them and replenish your health or log off

There should be a advanced /free building mode at this point where you can place anything anywhere, no matter if it glitches into other things, the position would be otherwise invalid etc.
With glitch building being a thing already, all this would do is make complex building techniques more accessible.
Maybe give it a little disclaimer like "Yo, this isnt meant to work this way and your experience might get weird, use at your own risk"

Multiple biomes on 1 planet would cause u to see everything faster.
They’re probably saving the biome aspect for something like LNF I highly doubt biomes will be added this late into the development cycle

I think the main lacking points of the game are:
- bland sound design
- worldbuilding depth (pirate NPCs and high conflict systems don't look or act any different. Even procedural generation should have elements that matter/mean something**)
- Lore is basically just a text dump and main story quests feel like the least interesting thing to do. Naming is important, also **
- Settlement QoL
Permanent/practical terraforming within your base and Corvette loading bays as a building component would transform base building
For pirate systems, i would like it if they gave the NPCs some of the autophage armor and cloaks to give them more of an outlaw off the grid look rather than have them in the same gear as the normal systems NPCs
In theory, they could change terrain generation algorithm by excluding planets containing bases, and providing a way to manually trigger the change to the new algorithm (e.g., first remove all bases on the planet, then use a specific item from space). They'd just need to come up with some flavor text to justify it in the lore of the game.
Game does not differentiate between planets that have been discovered or not, planets with bases or not, etc
We had changes to terrain generation that impacted planets with established bases and there's no way around that I'm afraid
And they don't need any lore explanation, we had new planets added in Origins just because
I heard of these wild bases but never saw one and believe me, I find so much on planets. I remember finding a portal when I was even supposed to find it and of course I didn't know it was a portal back then.
As for bases, I have a single rule: EM hotpost must be close by. Hell no using solar or biofuel, I have no time for that shit 🤣
I don't mind false floor, you can hide stuff that would otherwise look silly like the light pole feet, look how the floor wrap around it hiding its ugly feet, and hides the wonder hologram making things look more natural.
The Glitch weird subtype should have all weird subtypes combined. So you could find all stabilised glitches on the same planet.
Also HG please add larger corvette habs
I think it'd be nice to be able to stumble on shipyards as PoIs, or maybe substitutes for space stations in certain systems, that would sell you "stock" corvettes built from a variety of configurations premade by HG

Maybe these shipyards would vary depending on the dominant race in the system, or if in an abandoned system they'd be like the ghost freighters but bigger
In this instance their interiors could give off major deadspace vibes, and could be a late-game thing with very high risk but very high reward
These corvettes would fill the function of canonical "stock" ships that the average people of the universe would have access to, and from there you'd have something to base modifications off of instead of building the entire craft from the ground up
Think like buying a YT-1300 and kitting it out opposed to constructing an entirely different craft on your own
World immersion is something HG needs to seriously consider...
Honestly getting a bit tired of the Sentinels destroy everything excuse. We have starships, we have corvettes, all of these things have to be manufactured somewhere. We have synthesis laboratories and underground manufacturing centers : we should be able to visit them. Hope they really work on these things.
I really think they should reconsider the sentinel thing. I agree. While I know that NMS is about exploring an unexplored universe, it's hard to believe the infrastructure that we all rely on (Space stations, the manufactured goods in the trade terminal, the freighters, etc) just exists without some form of larger civilization to support it
I don't want nor expect city-planets with real factories and ships you can actually see being assembled that then fly out and are in the world or anything crazy like that, because it'd be a technical and i'm sure financial nightmare to even begin building such an update
But I think there's more they can work with than the obvious things the community has pointed out
Surely the Sentinels can't get you in space, I mean the space stations exist just fine so there's really nothing in the lore that wouldn't allow a 'Star Wars Corellian or Kuat Drive Yard' like orbital shipyards where we can purchase pre-made corvettes like you mentioned.

We explore only 5% of the stations they're so big and deep, especially the cavern right beneath the Station Core.
Maybe NMS has an Elyisum like scenario where entire populations live in space stations.
The old ones had the super iconic black floors with the blue light strips

What are the repercussions for the system when you claim an abandoned station? Can you populate it? Make decisions? Choose economy? Do other players pay a tax when they visit? Offer tribute?
Players 'owning' systems is too much power, IMO. (It's "No Man's" Sky, after all) Building bases in space would be the better version of the feature, I think. You could build wherever you want in the system, in any kind of system, as big as you want... Multiple players would be able to build stations in a single system that way too
I would love to see conservatories for all the flora we come across. There are so many i wish i could take and put up in my base or settlement. I wish there were more customization in settlements.
While i think owning systems would be a bit too much power for a single player, i do think there should be an automatic feature that changes how a system appears on the map if theres a certain amount of bases and settlements in it.
Give Civs a bit of an imprint on the galactic map
Maybe if a player/civ has at least one base on every planet & moon in a system, they are then able to go to the space station and set a message that is visible on the galactic map.
Possibly add a (in-game) monetary cost too, like 10000 nanites to set/change the message.
Because i think if thats added, Player Civs will get a lot more traffic if players are going through the region. If i spot a system with that specific highlight on the galactic map while im traveling, im detouring towards it.
I'm going to want to see what it is and whats going on there, if its something i vibe with i'm probably going to stick around. While i'm there i might get the chance to meet and chat with other travelers

If we ever got a NMS Settlements 2.0 update id love to see being able to move buildings around, obtaining the ability to upgrade two things at once and also having markers for pending buildings

Like the Create mod from minecraft. less about automation of stuff (though that could be cool too, it'd be nice if I could set up a supply line that automatically refines a supply depot for oxygen i make into carbon, and then condensed carbon to fill up another supply depot) and more about like, moving platforms, rotating around pivot points, gantry shafts and pulleys, elevators, and all the creative stuff that could come with that
having pieces that could be set up to rotate a certain amount with wonder projectors could make some cool stuff. aquariums, "advertisements," etc
i think theres potential for alot of this stuff to mesh well with current electrical stuff like the proximity sensor and other logic that comes with that stuff like that to make really cool contraptions
coupling stuff like that would be extremely cool with player constructed buildings in space. like a space station that rotates? has spinning holograms on it? has a moving/rotating elevator to move between two subsections of the station? peak imo
Yeah I was hoping by now they would have added more rooms to the new stations. We lost the ability to walk up to a window and look out into space, which maybe is a small thing but really helped sell the immersion. And I agree, I miss the bar, though I would like something where we can have conversations with random patrons, maybe get missions or hints about a treasure, etc

What if we added a new freighter room part for "barracks"? Wall-beds, and you could use internal walls to add a few in the center of the room if multiple parts are used.
I'm guessing they meant like corvettes but submarines, or possibly allow corvettes to traverse underwater
What if.. placeable outfit stands and racks? Could display our various outfits, and with stands, we could make it look as if there are actual people guarding doors, and so forth. Can't hurt to make it look like ya got a whole army.

Hello, I'm gonna be blunt and very direct. I'm very autistic about building onto preexisting things. So when say that I'm saddened by the underwhelming nature of the settlements, I mean it. Not because I don't think you shouldn't have made them! No! Not at all! The opposite in fact!
They feel as if they were an after thought even after revising them, and that's what's eating at me! I would love nothing more than to spend hours and hours and HOURS, days on end to tinker and medle with the affairs of my settlements, meticulously placing down infrastructure, decorations, building up lore and leading the small populace to prospers unimaginable to them!(but very imaginable to us ;3) but the very fundamental problem lies within how the settlements are handled.
The time gates, the lack of being able to select a location for a building, the lack of control to fix any weird anomalous behaviors of your autogenerated building layouts(ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE OBSTRUCTIVE!)! It's really hard to love it with my full heart, I wanna be able to find a place to set roots down into and be able to come back to familiarity, but the issue is, either I have absolute control with base and a few static npcs that are bound to single spot and build it for nothing more than vanity, or I deal with the lack of flexibility in the settlements construction mechanics and unable to at the very least course correct any funky mistakes the generative mechanics may make but get sense of.. well I wanna use “belonging” but that sounds sad but I guess it's a good word to use at least in the context of our travellers.
I feel that most people will be ok with their settlements being wiped to achieve a new level of immersion if you were to remove the time gates and refund all the items and such used in order to build them up and upgrade the buildings if it meant they had deeper more personalized role in the development of their settlement.
Which, I know kinda is underminning our current role as overseer, but our role feels more like a city council but instead of putting money into budget to get projects done we have to put in, sometimes intense resources to get anywhere, which isn't bad by any means, but it still doesn't feel fufilling to max our a settlements potential even after spending countless hours, days and even weeks to achieve that goal.
I feel that the best way, if you were to take one more crack at it, is to wipe settlements, completely, not their spots, no, keep them. Instead have an something like an enhanced base computer that is meant to spring up a settlement, get the overseer building, spring up a house, work place and maybe some other third thing, go to the space station and advert that your settlement needs people to live in it, so that way you are able to directly involved with the placement of buildings, what type of buildings, and who lives in them. Then work youre way up with more buildings, upgrading their class to increase production and happiness.
And finally, being able to modify the interior of those buildings and the settlement as a whole. Please, please, PLEASE allow this. I'm not saying throw away the auto generative buildings, no, not at all, but being able to tweak and fix it's funky ness is an absolute must.
And double finally, I feel the best way to refund all the resources that were once put into the old settlements is to have a ever shrinking sroage container that has as much capacity as is needed to hold onto the resources, but as soon as they are removed, the storage spot dissappears, until all of them are gone, to then which it, itself, will dissappear.

My idea is to have hidden solar systems that contains no stars, maybe 1 or 2 closely orbiting planets/ moons.
There is no light except the very faint light of the stars, there are no flora to get oxygen/sodium/etc from. Only fauna and minerals. The creatures are ALL hyper aggressive and breath whatever gasses that planet naturally produce and spews out as it is always iced over, even oceanic ones are completely iced over.
Any life, at all will gun at you for survival, they either have a means to super heat their bodies through chemical reactions, heavily furred or just have super high cold tolerance blood thats as thick as molases carrying dense amounts of the gasses it needs to sustain brain functions.
Minerals only makes it a challenge, requirement and acknowledgement that you need to be resourceful and use every bit of resource to its fullest, turn dihydrogen crystals and ferrite into lifesupport gel, turn sodium crystals into shield power, make sure to bring advanced tools and weaponry to maintain your need and self preservation.
Maybe youre here for the thrill, maybe something forms solely on these literally damned planets, perhaps its just to make your claim on something lost to even the ancient galactic conquerers.
I feel it would add unique feel to the game, an initial mystique that can turn to dread to those who are unprepared and challenge for those who wonder “why the hell does every planet have plant life, even against the odds of its environment?” Think It'd give the Hello Games team a real challenge to their fundamental core gameplay and give long lasting players a real run for their money.

Player clans/civilization need an in-game feature. Designated home system and clan register, unique build features like a Corvette or even freighter bay... something with a bigger scale to really help build up a city on your capital
i hope in general they make player presence feel more impactful. systems themselves feel kinda disconnected from players and having large bases/settlements doesnt change anything except minor economy differences
itd be cool if larger bases would attract npcs to walk around them depending on the size of the base and contents of it (trade terminals, landing pads, etc), and to encourage player visitation maybe make it so that selling items to a trade terminal puts that item for sale in the same terminal, as it'd naturally create player-led trade hubs
I think starship sound profiles would be pretty cool, could be a tech install that works similar to trails but maybe not just client side

In VR, gestures could be used to interact with NPCs. Such as waving to begin conversation, and nodding/shaking for yes/no responses.
Mate, planets like this are in the game already, minus the little details like 'iced over'. Find yourself an Aggressive Sentinels, dead planet and have a ball.
One thing I think would be easy to add and grant the game some challenge is a limit to how much you can sell to any given merchant. Though I don't see it happening.
I'd love better weather, not just planets having a "normal" state and a bad weather one. There should be other weathers that don't change the hazards (temperature or smth), like
- rain
- fog
- cloudy
- snow on lush planets?
I know my interceptor made some sort of growling noise when flying in a planets atmosphere didn't know if that was unique to those ships or not.

No I did, but from a developer's perspective, what does this add to the game? Yes, they can fiddle with the code and add a percentage chance for hostile fauna spawning in dead worlds, but then what? You have to remember everything is everywhere. There are no planets with unique loot or experiences, just different aesthetics and resources. Anything anyone can find there, they can find in a less hostile environment.
If it's about adding a unique experience, it would have to involve an instanced event. They can't add tailored experiences to one planet without adding it to all planets.
That's why they had to make the purple systems to add their new Worlds 2 tweaks.
Just the fact that they would be completely dark would be very cool actually
It is cool. I've been to black planets with no light. They're creepy as hell. It was a red star planet. Even on the sun side, the planet was dark, with a haunting glow in the sky.
The idea is to break out of the 9 year old monotonous samey feel, sure gas giants added some zest but the only challenge to them is the environment, while rogue planets would be the inverse of that, the environment is likely rather tame but icey, hell maybe even just as treacherous as a gas giant with constant ice storms, but instead the real danger lies within the fauna, i aint asking for tailored experiences, just more variety. "But theres infinite variety!" Sure, sure, theres also 300+ kitkat flavors out there. But i dont think id be excited in getting another kitkat flavor after eat 300 of them

I get where you're coming from. It's actually a complaint I've had about this game forever, but I've come to understand the limitations of their engine. It seems vast, but it's just an illusion created by overlapping repetition.
Planets are finicky things to change because people's bases tend to be affected.
Abandoned stations, derelict freighters, and the like, is where I wish they'd gone in a different direction. There was a missed opportunity for real challenge and diversity there.
I have a feeling based on the bridges they found in game files that the next major update will probably focus around freighters
honestly a rogue planet wouldn't be impossible. just make them an encounter that can happen very rarely while warping once your past say stellar multitudes

I've been thinking about it a lot recently, but this game has a problem with being full of "fake rare" things with only a handful of "real rare" things.
"Real rare" as in discoveries that are actually notable and exciting, things you would want to share with the community. "Fake rare" as in things are designed to look cool and unique but are actually extremely common and accessible, to the point where most players will have seen something practically identical.
To explain what I mean, there are a few examples that come to mind:
Glowing striders vs greater mushroom beetles; The greater mushroom beetle is an extremely rare type of creature, almost mythical. They are so unlikely to generate that for a long time there were only a handful of documented species of them and the ones that had been found were worth travelling across the galaxy to see. By comparison, the glowing striders spawn super frequently within certain parameters. You can find one with just a couple hours of searching provided you have purple systems unlocked and when you do, it will look identical to every other glowing strider anyone else has found ever anyway.
Alien/experimental multitools vs sentinel multitools; While not being particularly rare, alien and experimental multitools only appear in a small percentage of multitool cabinets. If you come across one, it is a somewhat notable discovery, and the location can be revisited by you or any other player to get it again. Sentinel tools on the other hand, while looking as unique and special as the alien and experimental ones, can be easily found on any dissonant planet. It's pretty much the same deal with the Atlas tools as well, though at least those ones have unique variants that have to be searched for.
Another example of a "fake rare" thing is the exotic biomes. There are countless instances of newer players sharing screenshots of the hexagon biome planet with questions like "has anyone ever seen something like this before?" Unfortunately, everyone who's played the game for a significant amount of time will have seen at least one planet completely indiscernible from it.
Hello Games used to put a lot of work into deep procedural systems to have actual rare and unexpected things to find. But for a long time now, every new addition is practically spoonfed to the player, like they just want to play it safe and make sure all the super casual players who only play for a week every time an update comes out will get to experience everything so there's not much out there to reward you for really looking.
The entire No Man's Sky community used to be built around finding cool and unique stuff out in the universe to share on wikis and subreddits
Sentinel ships are possibly the one thing that has such a wide appearance range that while some are "common" you can find others that are extremely rare.
I don't know if they have plans to add new systems or not, would be cool even if they were like brown dwarf stars or something of that exotic nature.
They should add wide habs or just a choice to make the small connection doors way bigger
Some random things I’d love to see added down the road. Some are serious, some are probably unrealistic, but I dream of it anyway.
-More outfit slots.
-A new piece of tech you could acquire that allows you to craft something without having to craft the required components beforehand, as long as you have the materials to craft those components.
-Corvette landing pad for bases.
-Have your active Corvette be part of your frigate formation rather than awkwardly docking next to your hanger. (Not eligible for frigate expeditions, just for flavor since we beam down anyway.)
-More color choices for bases, corvettes, outfits, etc.
-More Atlas style things, like outfit options to go with the existing helmet and backpack.
-Allow us to detach the camera when customizing our Corvette after building it.
-More Corvette parts along with more flexibility on how to place them, without having to rely on glitch building.
-Make Corvette more interactive, sleep on beds, wake up in med bay if you die and your Corvette is your active ship. Gun turrets that can be controlled by friends. Corvette can be repaired by friends if being damaged in a dog fight.
-Reclassify, gas giants, and make actual gas giants, with special ship equipment to allow your ship to go to deeper levels, build floating bases harvest gasses and have floating debris that can be landed on, but no planet surface.
-Allow us to land on large asteroids, build small bases on them.
-Give plants proper orbits, make stars approachable to a point, proper asteroid belts, add autopilot to every ship, allow it to work with tagging planets and/or give us a system map similar to the galaxy map to set pulse travel that adjusts for the new system layouts.
-add satellites, space, debris, comets to some systems.
-Space guilds for you and your friends.
-Shared storage space and/or mail for guild mates, so you can send friends items when they’re not online or near you.
-Be able to pilot your capital ship around a system.
-Be able to see your friend’s capital ship while yours is also in the system.
-Proper capital ship battles.
-Have more explorable parts of your capital ships like an engine room, a secondary hanger for the express purpose of viewing your stored ships.
-Revamp crashed freighters so there’s more variety in age, and condition of said freighters.
-Cities, towns on some plants. Some active, some abandoned, but relatively rare,
-Home planets/systems for each race, extremely rare, perhaps only 1 per galaxy but perhaps have a new storyline to find them.
-Astronomy. The stars you see in a system are the actual stars near you, designate constellations in your system, when you’re near the center or edge of the galaxy the sky will reflect that view, show the other galaxies in the sky.
-Proper Nebula, some are like regular systems, some are like uninhabited systems, only no planets and only a space station. Add something to make the, worth visiting.
Okay, that’s enough crazy ideas for now. lol
Exo craft OVERHAUL at this point there useless except the mech and you don't necessarily need the submarine

I wish you could auto-pilot the corvette without needing to be in the pilots' seat, just need to be inside the corvette.
I also wish auto-piloting to a space station would pilot the corvette to land in the space station.

For the first one, youd want it to detect that you are in/on the corvette before autopiloting
Something else I'd like is the option to autopilot to a specific point without only pulsing

Would love more additions to Living Ships at some point, especially with weapons. I like the idea of custom living tech but I would love a proper arsenal for them at least, maybe something to actually differentiate them from other ships considering the subpar stats. Maybe overhaul them to be mobile and long range, then reference their original use of avoiding black hole damage and make them immune to the damages caused by galaxy hopping.
Currently their unique features are easier recharging, accessing any system except purple, and easily upgradable modules
I think their weapons do something unique too, like the eye beams leeching shield
Idk, considering how annoying they are to get and how difficult they can be to upgrade I would like them to have some notable benefit in gameplay, especially considering the interceptor getting hovering which has a load of uses

I would still appreciate some general use, a lot of the unique aspects of living ships are tied to the process of maxing out the ship, once you're there, the utility falls off a lot and you end up with something that has lower stats and less unique features compared to sentinels and solars for example

Yeahhh I get that, which is why I think focusing on a loop of less combat potential, good mobility, good hyperdrive, and dropping galaxy damage would work
Gives it a niche that makes any player want to use it, solves a pretty rough issue with current game design (After your first galaxy jump, the tech breaking loses its charm and becomes an annoyance to avoid), and keeps it strong enough to stand unique compared to other higher tier ships, sentinels have combat, solars have raw pulse power, exotics are a high stat jack of all trades with a slightly lower shield stat

Freighter base storage
Living ship has less than half the maneuverability of my squid ship lmao I hate ships that can’t turn on a dime
I would love to see like, player federations (guilds). Would be cool to have a guild freighter that can be summoned and players can store their fleet (individual ships) there.
Also some more flushed out interactions with the existing races. Would be cool if you can stir up economies at systems, help "at war" systems fight wars, or even initiate wars in unsteady sectors
both of these are possible and doable unless im misunderstanding something here. We can leave seat while in auto pilot and if you use Pulse drive to go to space station, it will eventually go in on its own, its just slow after the pulse stops, i guess because you are drfiting slowly at that point so it takes a minute or two to get inside..
though you must be lined up with the door as well or you will crash into it instead of going inside
I think the most important thing is to go back over current areas that are missing depth.

structure variety. "Minor settlements" are really lame. More unique system type-specific structures like vykeen only armories or pirate only rebel camps. Maybe these can have multiple MT cabinets or different ship spawning distribution so we actually care about them. Maybe even mysterious "exotic" buildings that are even more rare.

ALSO on the above note, and this may be the most important imo because it's so fundamental in the gameplay loop: make space stations a little bit DIFFERENT than just RGB RNG. Why do three different civilizations at every possible economy level have identical space stations? The layout can be the same for player convenience but at least have some basic semblance of worldbuilding.

The game is miles wide and many places are miles deep, but the places that aren't are the few sore spots in an otherwise amazing game
Especially the point about space stations, because many players spend the majority of their time there or on new planets for quests. The new planets always offer variety, but the space stations at the core of the gameplay loop do not

Add a Filter that tunes up image contrast so the skybox in space is actually dark instead of piss with color or just switch the skyboxes for darker ones
Multitool animation overhaul, your multitool goes up and down in first person and in third person it doesnt even move, create a flag that makes certain multitools be handed with one, two hands at the grip or two hands
Planet Distance should be increased and the Pulse Engine should be buffed to compensate, I just think that planets take too much of the skybox when they are close to one another and it breaks the immersion, and moons should have more chance of actually generating, moons and the space station should be closer to the planet, Id say 60% more distance for planets and around 30-50% less distance for moons and space stations to their planets
All multitools, not just staffs, should be visible to other players

for the love of all thats holy in this world and everything everyone holds dear i love this game to bits and i have over 400 hours on it but i haven't properly touched the game in nearly 2 years because of one simple fact. the build limit which i believe in my humble opinion is the biggest flaw this game has as to me it limits all my creativity so so much when i find a cool new planet or ship i just want to build to my hearts content and just be free instead of having my hopes and dreams dashed by the cruel hand of the build limit i beg for the next update to remove or increase the build limit in some way so i can return to this game and have the fun i used to have.. this game is honestly amazing and i would pay way more money then i do for other games for it but the build limit disheartened me so much i haven't touched it since... @glossy knoll can agree with everything i have put here as him and i shared the same tragic experience😔 i love you all and i love this change that build limit i beg🙏

I wish to have a by default disabled optin toggle to enable the sync of large corvettes beyond the build limit in multiplayer. A enforced auto disable without optin would harm star wars roleplay communities and others. Let the player decide if they want to take the risk of game crashes with too large corvettes.

i personally want to see more organic technology. An expedition to get an organic freighter / corvette is at the top of my nms desires. Throw in an organic staff that doesnt clip with my 4 eye'd gek would be nice xD.
and more varied organic technology blueprints for regular organic starships so they dont feel so underwhelming.

Small suggestion I'm writing here so I can make a zendesk tomorrow: A "car garage" sort of remote technology item for your exosuit that toggles the doors to your Corvette. So you'd have the option on the drop-down bar to open or close your ship's doors at a distance; whether incase of emergency or just for looks

The implication for it being exosuit tech is that youve got a button on your wrist computer or otherwise integrated into your suit that acts like a remote
Space wars, your settlements could be taken by Raiders and its your job to liberate them, to protect your settlements when your gone you can have command freighters to watch over your settlements, their could also be a loyalty meter so during wars if your settlement loyalty is low your people will be most likely to be taken but if the loyalty is high then that gives your freighters and settlements a boost in defence against attacks

It used to be that going through a black hole trashes all your equipment and ship. The fact they removed it means this feature will most likely not appear. Though it would make the universe a bit more scientifically accurate

The corvette building system could use a little polishing up, like it would be nice to "build" my corvette first to see what I need and how those items all look together, and then in the same kind of way you build stuff in The Forest, you slowly add to the final product and then it becomes useable.
Not a super huge fan of having to hope the parts I buy/trade are gonna look okay prior to seeing what they fully look like compared to a picture.

Settlements are pointless at the moment. Lots of investment for no payoff. It's a real shame because I like the settlement management system. I feel pride when I get the debt to 0 but I don't really get anything for it
We should be able to have conversations with NPC’s. Not dynamic conversations but if you know the correct words, you should at least be able to speak in full sentences to the NPC’s instead of one word phrases.
And maybe have potential reactionary phrases towards the NPC’s greetings if we have enough words in our vocabulary, like telling an arrogant Vy’keen that they couldn’t kill a sentinel repair unit

Closest I can get is the following combination:
- Specialists (I have to go reactivate them if I want to move them from base to base, sadly they do not auto-activate based on my presence)
- Settlements (Build base in/next to settlement to see more people walking around)
- Landing Pads (put them everywhere, and it gathers NPCs).
- Hired Pilots (I may be mistaken, but I swore I saw my own pilots walking around my settlement).
I have not found any other good ways yet, but it would be great to have more 'people' 🙂

Giant custom drydocks in space for the freighter to dock in which could lead to Corvette-style freighter construction, a place to showcase different corvettes at once like the ship bay aboard the freighter.
Different type of asteroids that you have to mine with a multi-tool so we can have an excuse to actually use the space walking.

This could be an interesting idea:
A type of structure you can make where you begin a long process of changing the entire world type.
Could feed it several different types of resources that determine the eventual environment it creates.

Would be cool from a cosmetic standpoint but from a mechanical standpoint it would be kinda useless. Yes I understand that different multi tool types are better at different things but two different types of multi tools can basically do the same exact stuff just as well once they are maxed out.

i'm guessing this is as close to a suggestions page as there is so i wanted to ask if anyone had considered adding a supercharged modification vendor to the anomaly? if it charged say 10.000 Quicksilver to move one SC slot (tool/ship/suit) it would give end game players a reason to spend their QC and encourage more people to run weekly quests instead of just adding community awards (which could be done as-well).

there was missions where
you used a corvette
to pick up cargo boxes and drop them off at different systems or places
and the more damage you take the less of a reward you get
and obviously you would get hunted by pirates or sentinels

If I can turn off PvP so i'm not part of it, it is fine with me, and others have fun. But not sure if HG wants to spend time on that if not enough people would use it.

Three civilizations have been around for millennia. There is one historical event for each of them, and it's basically the same one.
Randomly generated meaningless ships logs don't count as lore
The only interesting lore figures are Atlantid and Atlas, (and Null so long as you are reading a wiki page rather than interacting with him in game)
Rarest ships in the game: exotic and living. Nothing.
The only lore is explained in four sentences. 1) Atlas sim 16 2) first spawn 3) Atlantid korvax 4) iterations and you.

Tried playing with a friend recently, they saw completely different things on their screen compared to me.
This essentially confirms to me that you either havent read the lore entries, or havent found them and assumed that what you got in the main questline was all there is. Games like this dont have an entire channel dedicated to lore apart from the spoilers because there's "so little lore." If youre having trouble finding it, ask for help, a lot of it is out of the way, but dont assume there is little because you happened to not have found it

They seem to have some bits with them but haven't looked too hard for them either.
Uncommon in that their spawn conditions are rather specific, but youd probably be able to find enough to fill out their logs on a single planet with enough searching

So, frigates I could see being a hypothetical thing, but not freighters. Even the smallest freighter is like a kilometer long, and most freighters are much longer than that
I could see them adding something like bridges and the ability to fly to planets within a system via a method similar to the corvettes autopilot to frigates and maybe freighters as a way to travel around the system.
What if NMS have an update related to underground and digging
- Now you can dig on way to mantle, outer core and inner core center of planet to access new minerals and compounds that are only found in mantle and core but you will need heat resistance upgrade for your exosuit to prevent burning and stronger drill required to able break mantle
- New Europa-type planet with life only exist below surface called subglacial life, At surface and atmosphere it's barren and lifeless and you can dig down and dive with submarine to search flora and fauna underwater below surface, it's sort like water planet but water at top sea level is frozen into ice instead
- New Underworld-type planet with life only exist below surface called subcavern life, At surface and atmosphere it's barren and lifeless and you can dig down to search flora and fauna underground below surface, the caves will be really large sort like Nether from Minecraft

Keep in mind the engine limitations when forming the idea. No use asking for things if the idea is far beyond of game engine reach.
They do seem to have made a bunch of changes to the engine so some things may eventually be possible but not sure if it is a priority.
I love how close Hello Games is to their community, these small devteams that do stuff like posting community-made stuff are 100% the best devteams on the planet
Anyways yet another corvette idea, outdoor pieces such as flat platforms/floors to walk outside, railing and doors (ik we can already sort of do that, but what about parts specifically designed for this use)

Hi guys , newly joined nms few days back , earlier i was able to teleport from pirate space station to other pirate stations as well as to my settlement , but now i just keep getting clearance not granted , please let me know if anyone has any idea how to fix this
I think the Clearance not granted is normal (if I remember correctly you're not able to tp from normal stations to pirates and vice versa)

please hello games. now what you have done with this game is something special and truly shows how hard you've been working. but id love and I'm sure many others would love a update on base building. walls that should easily be placed in a spot wont go in that spot so i need to learn how to glitch build to put a wall on a floor platform. stairs that can attach to each other making for non use of glitch and free placement to get it connected kinda. just would be amazing to build without the need of all these glitches. allow for scaling on new objects. rotation on new objects that I feel dont do any harm having that available for them. thank you again for all the work but please something on building

The build mechanics can get very iffy
Trying to find the right snap spot can get difficult because there is no limit to how far away it wants to snap to
You can look at the exact spot you want but it'll snap to all available other spots before the one you want sometimes
I hope they'll tweak a few things one day, or at least make it better in LNF
killzone and other space game crossovers would be epic. like they did with normandy
once we get enough redux expeditions, we should make one called just "Redux" where each milestone is from one of the previous redux expeditions

cant put parts in snap locations directly infront of you because theyd rather go to snap locations 50 feet away like okay
they should improve the ai for the pirates/sentinels cause rn dogfights feel so slow because most of the time the enemies just go around in circles or just stay hovering

I definitely feel you, but I almost dont want the snapping system to be updated because then it could break all the techniques I've learned to force it to my bidding
Adding to this I wish they'd fix the bug where if you're inside a large player made base the game still thinks you're outside.
Id also like them to optimize bases for other players, if me and my friend want to build a base together the game should be able to cooperate, but once my friend places a base and we log off for the day the terrain regenerates and messes everything up
Perhaps something that makes it where you can build your own artifacts like you can with the fossils update a while back
Maybe some figurines, statues, slabs, or murals just to name a few. Perhaps add one where its mass-scale artifacts where you got to find big artifact pieces to build something like space stonehenge or recreation of a ritual site
Would also be cool if they expanded a bit into there being the corvette equivalent of exocraft - more notably the aquatic variety if they expand into their being aggressive marine life so you and you're buddies can pull some subnautica nonsense together in NMS on a large submarine deep in the pitch blackness of an ocean

It'd also be cool if something akin to animal enclosure things were available. Like, we have the aquarium as a base decorative option - why not have one where we can put the fish we catch in them? It'd also be cool if there was an update that added, like, museum-esque or zoo-like pieces and stuff you could. Such as having enclosures with animals you found on a planet that don't despawn (the thing being that they're autonomously cared for by AI in the enclosure) or have it a holographic depiction of the lifeform in its natural habitat (this being unlocked when the player/Traveler scans enough of the planet's environment to recreate a replica of it. Like, if that was added you could have a holographic model of the creature(s) in a pose of your choice, maybe even make it where other players are able to scan or read the information on the lifeform via their scanner

I'd much rather put fish that I discover in an aquarium than ones that I catch, because those are actually unique.
But really, the wonder projector system is like 80% of the work done, they just need to make a version where the projected creature still has the AI attached and original shaders and we could easily build any sort of animal enclosure
Well most of those are rather big, and would fit more with the holographic "enclosure-display" rather than an aquarium. When I say "aquarium", I'm talking something akin to the small aquarium or the Alien Containment in Subnautica. Maybe have something where a solid replica model of the critter could be made and placed somewhere, sort of like those whale skeletons/models you'd see in a natural history museum

Like, I'm certain a tank for the giant squid critters would be rather difficult to realistically attain without looking "off" imo. So, like, a holographic model of it in its habitat with a static model of it nearby to showcase the actual size

I agree that the snapping would need updating etc but the ability to see how it would look without deleting hundreds of parts a whole base preview?

Put several consumables together into a "smoothie", the result having the effects of all ingredients but proportionally reduced.
E.g:, 50% heat resistance + 50% cold resistance = 25% heat and 25% cold resistance.
Allow smoothies to also be blended together, you could have a smoothie with every effect but only weakly

I think they mean combining the food together to get more than one boost from a food item. Like, sprint recharge and faster sprint speed in one food item

You know, I imagine a game mode for custom games, like how we setup an ai custom game in RTS games like rise of nations or starcraft2 etc.
here, the map consists of a few systems,
your game starts with the starship,
the planets have more ai settlements with base defense and their own militia, where you can trade primarily,
then after building your base, some ai would like to join your base,
you expand your base, placing different version of base computers will attract more ai,
you'll have the option to conquer the entire planet, by either acquisition or battle, slowly build a system wide empire, trade routes,
at the same time, the main enemy ai are doing the same in another system,
while managing your territory, you run into random skirmishes, or your ai fleet runs into theirs, signaling that the enemy is expanding too,
the whole thing ending with you grabbing/destroying most of their territory under your command,
it's like an RTS game mode inside NMS

Game was super fun until I went into discord and everyone just told me to dupe this and that and boom, now progression doesn't matter and the game is dull. Make a system where it's not possible, with forced pvp.

You didn‘t have to glitch…just set yourself the rule of keeping the save legit, or make up your own system for what you consider legit; this is what I did.
I do ocassionally save edit, but only in ways that have a legit basis, like for example giving me the exclusive expedition blueprints on my main save after having completed the respective expedition.
Or adding back old functions like scanning for wild base computers.
This is a sandbox, so you have to use your head and imagination to make this game thrive.
I guess if there were enough population, people could make their own faction wars within the game or something like that

A steam workshop where users can upload custom decorations would be nice.
