youre gonna die on the combat is not a priority hill and Im gonna die on the combat needs to be improved just as much as any other aspect of the game hill
At least well die playing the same game
🤝
the ones that get me riled up, to change the subject, is freighter class upgrades, inventory autosort, ship and mt limit, cargo pod inventory limit, not being able to access exocraft inventory anywhere, and they need damn foundations to go under your freighter base make it attached to the physical structure of the freighter, and cuboid rooms for freighters would be nice while were at it
that could definitely all be done quickly and relatively easily, i feel like theyre just using it as update candy for later on
Whats wrong with class and slot upgrades?
like updgrading your freighters class
Yes
I want 30 ships wtf
what you smoking
Im saying these things i listed need to be updated or added
With how many exclusives we have, I get it
As addons to actual updates you mean?
Oh I'd love one
quit edging us
maybe next christmas if were good
That other game did it too and people loved it
which one
Forgot lmao, but a fps I think
ah
You can probably google it
what if we had an arena in the anomaly for pvp or cool group pve boss battles, i know how much you love combat, rate that idea
Eh, heard worse
battle royas
royal
no mans sky lego banana fortnight]
nah but imagine like a battlefield map where the controlled areas are constantly being pushed back and forth and its sentinels vs players
Sorry Ry I was away for a bit. I think you misunderstood the intent of my post. I didn't mean that they should ignore the combat aspect at all. When I posted that there had been a huge discussion on the combat aspect. The first part was really just meant as a segue into the other topics. .... On the combat issue I have wondered if players have tried setting the damage level to "Challenging" and the combat setting(s) to"Hostile" before requesting added difficulty? The point is have they been using the flexibility HG has built into the game before requesting the additional changes?
i appecciate where your coming from but to me, the issue is more about the variety of combat and with the lock on feature and the ability to make any ship OP very easily, its like, damage numbers dont matter either way. We want more variety and maybe better AI or just different things the enemy can do.
These are all good points I'll grant you. But as I think on it, I kind of wonder if they leave all of the aspects a little bit basic on purpose? If they were to make combat detailed and diverse at the same time they might fear that their game that was supposed to be a huge multi-galactic sandbox turn into a shoot 'em up. If you think on it a lot of the stuff in this game seems to be "nonspecific", is that by design?
elaborate please, cause that was so nonspecific i don't know what you mean
I mean, did HG leave everything a little bit basic because there's so much and so many things that you can do. If they allow too much detail and emphasis on one aspect the overall concept of their game moves away from being a sandbox game to whatever aspect it turns into whether it be a shoot em up, a farming game, a storyline game, etc. Perhaps they have left everything a little less refined so that one gets bored with that particular thing and moves on to all the other parts of the game. And maybe that's by design?
is that like saying, when i built your fence i did a half assed job and only included half of what i could include ✨ by design ✨
i mean some aspects of the game are not basic at all
cooking, fishing, base building, exocraft, items and materials, number of planters and ships and stuff, just to name a few
No it's merely pointing out that perhaps HG has decided that they will build no fenses. In fact building those fences would force them and their players into smaller and smaller areas which is counterintuitive to what this game was designed to be. At least that's how it seems to me...
I agree with every one of these! And if you look at what you just wrote it's almost as though you are pointing out every individual tree, and maybe you're not recognizing that they make up a whole forest?
But please don't get me wrong here I'm not advocating that HG should stop working on refining the game. I'm merely and hopefully trying to shine light on what a wonderful job they did on creating such a huge and expansive game. So please no assassination attempts?🤣
Im of the opinion that giving more opportunity for individual aspects of the game to be explored more deeply does not prohibit players from enjoying the things they enjoy. Look at minecraft, how many people are obsessed with redstone contrptions and have created immensely complex machines in the game because of the possibilities, now look at how many people never touch that feature. how many people play countless hours hardcore permadeath or pvp servers, and how many people never do any of those things and only play in creative mode. None of these people are limited by the game having more features. This argument is invalid. If the idea is, HG doesn't add too in depth features because they dont want to force players to do things they dont want, that makes no sense because there are so many very deep features already that some people never touch, or only touch because the features they would rather play are too shallow. If they made combat better, added new mob types whatever, it wouldn't prevent base building from being a core feature, or if they improved trading mechanics it wouldnt prevent that from being a core feature, or farming, animal husbandry, ship building or hunting, exocraft racing, whatever. They can all exist simultaneously and continue to become more complex and grow with the community without boxing the player in, and in fact they would only put more sand in the sandbox, give us more legos to play with, put new colors in our palette. And no this is not a situation where there's too much sand in the sandbox. Yes there are times where limiting your resources forces you to get creative but this is not that situation, if you want to try a different perspective just jump into an expo, or don't use a feature you don't like. For example I personally avoid using some common glitches or features because they break my immersion and dont fit my play style. The option is there, I dont use it, and I'm no worse off for that, and neither are the people who do
liked my own message
It's almost as though you think I'm disagreeing with you or anyone else who advocates more detailed combat. I don't, I'm not, I'm just trying to advocate that perspective be broad enough to look at all parts of the game. I worry that if HG hears nothing but "more bigger better combat" "new bigger better combat", maybe they will fixate on that and other parts of the game might suffer. But I don't disagree with you.
To that point: space suits! I'd like to see the game transition between spacesuits on when you're in an open (harmful) environment, but switch to something else when indoors, in freighters, etc. I wouldn't want that over many other possible updates but it's something that would just improve the "feel" of the game. And on that note, some races need helmets while other (seemingly organic based) races do not?
Yeah, that is one of the many weird things of the game, but I think that's because helmets are not coded as such. There is no Helmet category, just heads, and the anomaly heads "happen" to look like helmets.
That said, I like the idea and would like an indoor outfit too
yeah i mean gek and vykeen walk around with no helmet on any planet lol
toxic radioactive constant explosion dead decaying infested death world and they just wanna feel the wind in their hair
i understand
No spoilers please but do we know what the anomaly look like under their helmets?
Are they something like human?
I think it would be cool if we had sentinel star systems with their stations and some kind of traders + only type of ships you can find here is only sentinel ships.
This systems would be very rare an to get in you would need special equipment for ship and maybe for exosuit.
All planets would have high sentinel activity or aggressive sentinels,
there would be higher chance to find dissonant camps with authophags.
(Sorry for bad grammar English is not my native language)
Do you mind if I try expanding on this a bit?
I am very new to this game so if it been said 1000 times sorry 4 repeating it.
It would be nice if all the animals we know where in the game both now the ones living now & millions years ago .
Also if the starship build option had more parts like other games this would keep this game going a very long time 🤔
(PS5 1 month old player)
There are so many parts alr, but more would def be nice
I don’t mind.
Yea I was comparing nms to another
Planets with numerous conditions, so like, you could have a radioactive cold planet, or something like that
Love this idea! And the second you enter the system you get cargo scanned. Would make smuggling missions more interesting.
I've thought about autophage systems before, where it seems to be an abandoned system but using the multitool thing that lets you see them( I forget what it's called) lets you see them and buy their special starship type, which is like an amalgamation of other starship parts, maybe something like hauler fan wings on an explorer
Okay this one has legs for me. I could see this making for a great addition to the game! Props!
Making No Man’s Sky More Intuitive and Player-Friendly
To enhance No Man’s Sky’s gameplay, several adjustments could streamline mechanics and make exploration more rewarding. Life support could recharge automatically near starships, and hazard protection could automatically recharge only in caves or indoor spaces, creating natural exploration rhythms. Pulse engines could recharge automatically when not in use while aboard the ship, reducing the need for manual refueling. Hyperdrives could transition to a “space travel pass(ticket)” system, where players purchase tickets from space stations to activate hyperdrive, removing tedious crafting and creating a more streamlined and strategic approach to exploration.
Launch thrusters could only refuel for free at space stations, removing the need for crafting. Multi-tools could become disposable items with unique abilities, scattered abundantly across planets. This system would encourage players to explore and collect replacements as tools wear out after limited use, keeping discovery fresh and exciting.
These ideas aim to reduce micromanagement and focus on exploration, creativity, and player choice, making the universe feel more immersive and rewarding.
And creatures should be much more aggressive than they are now. Passive creatures should not exist, leaving only aggressive or defensive ones. Additionally, planets should feature far more discoveries and puzzles scattered across their surfaces.
Inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
I’ve played no man’s sky since pretty much the beginning, I’ve just only found the discord lol. I enjoy the crafting of fuels needed for recharging. I think a solution for people who don’t like to craft or a certain fuel is needed immediately is to have those fuels sold at the space stations. I know I’ve needed hyperdrive fuel in a pinch and had to fly to planets in the random systems I’ve been in which I enjoyed doing
Do you not use the auto launch charger? I haven't crafted launch fuel in aaaaages.
Also, there is an option to turn predator aggression off in custom settings. So increasing that would do literally nothing. We can just shut it off. Maybe a custom option to make predators more dangerous.
Disposable MTs? Hahaha, HELL no. Can you imagine spending hours looking for the Atlantid you want only for it to get destroyed later? Terrible idea.
I have to autocharger on all my ships but if im bouncing between systems Ill burn up the launching fuel within 2 planets. I tend to make frequent stops lol
Did you really send something written by chatgpt
Also, I disagree with everything in this
I was just about to say that
It sounds like it was written by ChatGPT
(Original idea by @solar lance #nms-the-future message)
You are proposing making the game easier and also locking new systems behind having money, with a ticket system, which is also completely illogical, and also entirely reworking a working system and making it arguably worse, entirely removing passive creatures for some reason (???) In conclusion: I didn't like a single part of your suggestion.
-# says the random discord member
Yo that’s actually sick!
Chatgpt made that suggestion. Not surprising the ideas are completely insane.
Makes sense, and has no place in this server
I'd agree, but it doesnt seem be subject to deletion sadly...
New rule: No 'AI' slop in the discord server
Because this is exactly what it does
Make everything worse
Please, go make a post in #discord-server-feedback. I'm the first to vote for it
Most of this can already be accomplished by going into the game settings and changing them accordingly.
Please tell me you don't work for Amazon, and that Bezos does not want to buy up Euclid??? LOL 🤣
I don’t work for Amazon but I did here somewhere that Bezos was trying to buy up Euclid 🤔😂
Well hell, there goes the Galaxy! Next thing you know Haulers will be setting in the middle of Hyperdrive Zones with their lights blinking....
Now that’d be a show I’d pay to see lol. I spend way to much time jumping through pirate systems that I forget how normal systems are 😂
disable camera auto-center function please
If anything i wish the opposite. I want more incentive to explore planets and remain in them longer than just "E, lame planet, E, W"
I'm moving to eissentam if that happens
😂
I would be interested in seeing a Mission Line that the end of which would allow to a method where a player could travel to another "Galaxy" of their choice without having to go through them one at a time via the 'Center of a Galaxy' traversal method.
The Atlas mission line does this but for only one of four galaxies, but to have the ability of the player to choose from any one of the 250+ Galaxies would be nice. Or perhaps have a rare item drop that allows a portal to teleport them to said galaxy of their choosing perhaps?
There are so many galaxies out there but they are VERY hard to get to on your own....
- someone's gonna be pedantic so it very well can be me
And make the correction that Atlas Path does not involve travelling to other galaxies
And 2) you better have some idea how to present all 255 galaxies to player so they can pick the one they want to travel to
Actually, I stand corrected it is in the Artemis Path, The Purge...
*Reset Simulation
If the player chooses to reset the simulation, they will be given a choice of what kind of galaxy will be created next. The four options are Lush galaxy (green), Harsh galaxy (red), Empty galaxy (blue) and Normal galaxy (teal). *
A list already exists...
I know a list like this exists
I was asking how do you envision a player picking from all these options?
Have their screen filled with 255 tiny buttons?
Even if you divide it into 4 groups per galaxy type, you end up with over 60 entries in each group
Make a list of these options, it's still gonna be a pita to navigate
Well... perhaps you could open one of four tables (much like your inventory items list) in each table you'd select a item that takes you a specific galaxy? Hello Games created a game with 18 quintillion systems... I'd put money on them figuring out this one too. I think item slots top out at 120 yes?
The problem is that the galaxies aren't meaningfully different enough to be worth it imo. There is no practical difference between say, Twerbetek (galaxy 25) and Wiensanshe (galaxy 171) for example. Both are normal type and neither have any player discoveries of note.
Was going to say this. There is no real reason to implement this, other than personal preference and player taxis exist for that
The only real purpose the majority of galaxies exist is as milestones for how far you've travelled. Reaching galaxy 171 is an accomplishment, if you could just fast travel there from Euclid it would be kind of meaningless
I travelled to all galaxies on my own. I dont see any problem. U can use taxi or do it the hard way.
From game dev perspective There is not enough assets and galaxies are too big to make them diffrent enough from the others. Atm .
For totaly diffrent galaxy u would have to make practicaly another game i terms of assets amount.
I love the game, i just wish there was a rework on combat all around, fighting pirates within their own ships or ground gun fights, raiding bases.
I want a sorting feature
And an overhaul to gameplay on planets
We got the visuals
But now we need reason to stay on planets
Rework to buildings and resources
Make resources more diverse
On every biome
I think it would be cool to give us the opportunity to build large domes and the space in it can be terraformed by changing the climate and changing the color of grass and plants.
No thank you to all of that, I'd prefer they made an actual multiplayer instead of this broken mess
Idea: Multitool secondary: grappling hook
The point wasn't necessarily about just getting to a different galaxy. It was meant that there might also be introduced new mission with new goal that might give players a reason to go to the galaxies. Perhaps even a chain of missions that lead you from one to the next that are randomized and possibly created procedurally? Generally just new stuff to do in the game.
Make host player from group a "captian" and other players ships will fly with him on autopilot like the squadrom npcs. a quick menu command "join formation". Autopilot will stop working by itself and break formation if u will start piloting the ship ( if pirates start attacking for example). And if everyone calls their squadrom it would be cool for pics (idk if game can handle 20 ships)
My compromise idea for "multicrew" ships. Function is the same. One player moves whole group.
I like this idea
Also you can summon your squadron while in a group with others summoning theirs and it's fine, I've done it
Playing devils advocate: what if the host warps to a blue system and one player has no indium drive?
Just make Warping unavailabe for squad if all dont have indium drive. U can workaround it with using anonaly jumping to players system.
I see. Crude but effective
I like the idea but I admit I find the idea of a flight of Starships trying to land simultaneously and the game isn't wanting to let you land. I'd love to be a bird in a tree watching the chaos ensue! LOL
Players can "take the wheel" and land on their own.
on this note, everyone just piles into the captains freighter and then use the freighter to travel to a blue system
I meant warp via starship. Also, too many what ifs in my opinion, Astaroths solution sounds better. Though we are all just toying with ideas anyway. I suppose if we can't have multiseat ships, this is the nextbest thing.
I just want the ability to have everyone's freighters in the same system visible to everyone
I want the ability to transfer inventory between my ships etc
It's kinda tedious when you buy a new ship and have to manually put the items into your exosuit then into your new ship
any chance for the story to expand?
Anyone else realize we don't need more ship slots. We need more multi tool slots
We need more slots for all if HG will keep adding stuff
Technicaly its expanding with every update. Adding bits of lore and unfolds the story bit by bit.
And takes forever if you have a full exosuit
Ability to copy address from discoveries, wonders or photomode and paste it to portal would be nice
And some ingame adress book would be nice
We should be able to be space doctors and have mini quests to form planetary clinics to service wounded animals
I would just love a way to recharge exosuit shields without having to commit Sentinel genocide
It's a little silly that we can recharge starship shields but not exosuit.
NMS would benefit from adding more soundtracks for different scenarios/ locations
The music hits so hard but it could be even more specific to specific experiences you have
We should be able to have multiple freighters in a fleet. Some freighters (such as the venator) can have a larger hangar bay if placed correctly.
These freighters could act as extra item storage, Expansions to your starship capacity, higher fleet ratings (if sent on missions), and increased PVP or other battle capability.
Other assets may include additional squadrons, specific starship storage assignment, squadron assignments (stay alongside chosen freighters), and the ability to fight pirates with the freighters.
Should also be able to see the entire fleet before you summon, to make sure there’s enough space.
Furthermore, you could also choose one freighter to be the center “mothership”.
Freighter limits may include 3 large freighters, and up to 5 of the smaller system freighters.
Another idea could be a genetic sequencing update where you could create your own creatures based on parts of those you’ve already found.
Mixing creature types and advanced parts arrangement+resizing could come out to have some amazing looking pets.
Another idea could be to add various humanoid droids (or astromechs, depending on what you’re capable of doing) as pets, base add-ons, etc. Astromechs could be added in an update involving new starships that can carry said droids and use them as power diversion or emergency maintenance during any space battles.
Humanoid droids can be set to perform certain tasks in your base or during exploration. these tasks may include cooking, security (kill sentinels and predators that get too close), resource harvesting, and more.
Idea for base updates: Add buildable turrets or self-sufficient generators. these can be earned through missions or another expedition if needed.
this way if you create a base in a manner that pirates will attack it, you could place these turrets to help defend your base/settlement effectively without having to run to your starship right away.
Additionally, we need planetary hangar-bay parts. would be nice to land indoors for once with hangar doors that can close..
Allow flight through enclosed spaces such as large caves or tunnels.. the starship trying to force its way upwards is really annoying and does more harm than good.
Hi, I have the following suggestions after playing the game for quite a while on binge. I've noticed many unnecessary caps in the game, at least in my perception. Now, I hope those aren't too difficulty too implement since they are mostly tweaks.
-
An option to automatically recharge the survival equipment if you have sufficient materials.
-
An option for builders to specifically select the part they want to 'grid' to, leaving only the grid-spots of that specific building part available. This would save hours of searching for the grid-spot.
-
Noclip in build camera, because it already exists; players just have to glitch to get it. This would make building easier.
-
The current 300 units distance building cap for bases is very, very limiting and players will often glitch their way into 1000 or even 2000. This promotes base spam for players who don't know how to expand bases. I've lost count of how many "Uranium base", "Copper base", "Parafinnum Base" i've found exploring. All in many separate spots when it could just be one single complex.
If 1000 is too much to be the new 'default', perhaps a base upgrade interaction in the Base Computer that can be bought with Nanites, that expand the build limit cap so you are able to make it bigger.
Eg. 300u (Starting) -> 600u (1500 Nanites) -> 900u (3000 Nanites) -> 1200u (4500 Nanites) -> 1500u (6000 Nanites).
- Remove the 50u limit distance in build camera or make it larger. The entire 'you can only move 50u once you activate build camera' is limiting and is an unnecessary cap. Build camera should allow you to traverse freely.
i'm aware this isn't direct contact with hello games, I would just like to hear other people's opinions on these matters before submitting a suggestion in the fixed link.
It would be cool if we got some of the derilict freighter rooms, or some of the screens for base building.
I think part of the issue with the base limits is they do it so that framerate won't chug (or even crash) on low-end systems and consoles. So there's only so much they can officially do to increase it
I would love the screens
Another method of getting ship parts
I'd love if Fauna was a little more realistic
Like you can find their hiding spots in their inactive times, they can be flying and land fauna at the same time. Underwater/ground, Flying/Underwater, Ground/underground etc.
Scratch everything I've said here we need to be able to pilot frigates. Just imagine cruising into an atmosphere in a trade galleon
I've always thought it would add a lot to the grounding of environments for birds to land on trees/objects
all these things are reason for NMS2
Absolutely not, they are already working on LNF in secret
Not really a secret.
Yeah "secret"
LNF?
Hah, toldya its secret
#light-no-fire
Hello Games upcoming new game (no release date as of now)
NMS is the sequel of NMS
And prequel at the same time
NMS³
I really imagine years later we would have a complete overhaul of fauna behavior altogether. It could be something on the scale of Origins
If not bigger
If not bigger
I want exotic worlds that are just as varied as any other biome
Like hexagon planets always have the same hexplate tree and hexplate fauna, more variation would be cool
I want deeper oceans. Give me the subnautica experience
Somthing they could add is an exocraft that is an air plane, dont use your launch fuel to get an aerial view of the planet.
Its called flying pet
Flying companions are goated
Launch fuel becomes irrelevant VERY quickly. Also exocrafts use fuel too, and flying pets exist as others pointed out
Please add animation as player climbs into the spaceship and exocraft, and add that you can see player through windshield.
can i make a human avatar in No Man's Sky yet? or are avatars only aliens or robots still???
No .No humans
You think you want that now, but after the 200th time of watching that same sequence, what then? After putting in as much time as I have in no man's sky the current landing and launching sequences can sometimes feel like getting caught at the red light at every cross street when you're in a rush to just get home. LOL
It looks like there will be humans in lnf so it is possible
The anomaly race is the closest you'll get
That's the starter race
I wish we could sit on them, not only rotate.
But a boat would be so fun
Like just to drive across the ocean would give some wild photos
This is probably more practical though
Skiff has storage for fish ans lures
I meant more then my sailboat idea
Make haulers have more slots like 150 so they again would be only ship type with most slots.
Do you think that they will add rogue sentinel ships ?
I mean, they are sentinel ships, the normal ones. Then there are the dissonant ships, those we can find and salvage for ourselves, because they are crashed.
Behold: there could be dissonant flying sentinels ships, prone to aggression like pirates, anytime, anywhere, especially in dissonant systems. And more you are into dissonant stuff in NMS, more chances you have this kind of encounters.
- shuttle: great defense, all other stats medium range
- exotic: subclassed into/of the other types
- fighter: higher dp, better maneuverability
- explorer: higher hd range, faster, less fuel usage
- hauler: huge storage
- solar ship: More efficient fuel usage, recharge upgrades are more efficient
Living: immune to ship scans due to biotech, and better scanning due to evolution to workaround having no eyes
As well as: more installable tech, that are unique to certain types of ships
The crashed ones are the dissonant ones. Thats why we pick up glass from ship when we start to fix it.
U mean corrupted. Like the corrupted sentinels. MAYBE we will see them in the future.
Be nice to have system with space station being built.
And you come back a week later & it's finished.
That's what I meant, the idea remains
Any app developers here please contact me
You sure you're in the right server? Lmao
it would be cool if they made it so you can make clans and like one person runs a giant freighter ship and sometimes people can go into clan battles fighting in dogfights and stealing supplies from other clans ship thags jusy my opinion tho
How bout derelict space station
We have those
Ok, real talk here.
They should update the terrain manipulator to have a third mode that ONLY extracts deposits and nothing else when your aiming the thing. The current system of extraction is extremely clunky, and leaves giant, unpleasing holes in the terrain that often have jagged floating edges in them. Plus there's always one last spot of ore you can never find. This would fix that.
Its an odd blemish and relic of the past in an otherwise extremely polished game.
I agree with your suggestion, but extremely polished? No lol
I'd like to see a new feature where after a certain amount of progression through the game it unlocks a quest to claim and restore an abandoned space station. It could perhaps be like running settlements, only with the functions and terminals of space stations in inhabited systems. There could be more stuff worked into it as well
I'd like new manipulator modes in general. And having a way to set an area as "construction" so the game saves it and prevents stuff from regenerating in it
Would be cool if the planets had seasons as they go through their orbits/i know there's already storms, but would br neat if there were different kinds of weather events maybe unique planets like Jupiter having a huge storm raging all the time. I feel like the combat in the game needs to be more in depth. Also systems that are at war, would be cool if factions would call apon actual players to take part in large scale battles together.
Sorry Should of explained more have them like the derelict space ship.
Wen you go in you get attacked & chased.
That could be fun
this (the second thing), or at least let us choose whether base parts will destroy terrain to make room or not. because i hate having to smack a new base with the restore function to avoid filling up my terrain edits
and i also hate having to build 3 feet off the ground to avoid having to do that
or heck, give us a "terrain destroyer" buildable item that just clears all the terrain in an area without filling up terrain edits
since it's just a volumetric area wherein the game says "no terrain here," it shouldn't be anywhere near as costly to keep around from a data storage perspective
So after 5th Feb. Who thinks we're going to get updates and stuff cuz that's when the last expedition stops.
Need to be able to remove resource veins from Hud, I dunno about pc but on xbox, even if you remove the entire veins, alot of the time the grid won't dissappear so the veins stays, makes it quite frustrating trying to go on mining expedition, csnt remember every single vein you have hit already
I wan't circular walls bruh I need it. Like those water towers in settlements
Is it possible to add a scanner for stormy conditions to help see the land below 😂 stop us running into the ground & mountain 🤔
PS5
I'd like spacecraft built for instrument meteorological conditions 😂
Is it possible to find away for us to connect hotspot to base🤔 da AVG 1 hotspot I find is about 1000u away the location I want 4 my base.
I do know about the building tricks but it b better if we have sum type of connection.
Example .
A limited amount of Tall poles per base to connect hotspot pipe to the base.
Maybe ground pipes if it affect movement.
I actually was at the wrong place lmao. Was actually supposed to be agency accelerator.
Yeah that makes more sense
Not sure if it’s mentioned or not, but it has the restore function. Not sure if it works in that area or not though. Haven’t tried it yet, but may be an option.
looking forward to worlds part 2
ive heard there were some leaks about there potentially being much deeper oceans
im not going to bet on it, but I'd be very happy if that's actually what we get
I hope at some point we get a creature behavior update
Like herds, more complex flora & fauna interactions beyond "animal a kills animal b", hiding froms storms, etc.
Speaking of storms, an update with more complex or localized weather patterns
Yes
We need this
Been looking to see if the Autophage have a space station dat you only can see after you get the scanner attachment 🤔.
No luck so far if dare none dare should be especially in system with no space bases
Mhmmghm
Deeper oceans
I dream of it every night
Ofc, that's just redux ending
I hate teleporters I hate them I HATE THEM please get rid of this
That scale glitch exists ya'know (iirc)
Okay so I have a suggestion. In this game you can literally create as many bases as you wish to build on planets and withing the many galaxies and universe. You can rename them to Identify what the base or the types of recourses are near the base. It is more easy to remember something you named for a specific reason but say there is a certain space station that you want to remember as to where to buy a certain resource. I know you can favorite or star a space station but it is hard to remember what you favorited certain stations for when you can't add any type of naming conventions to them. So what if we could add an Icon next to the star? Some stations sell Salt while others do not so when you go to a teleporter and see the thumbnails you see you favorite stations signified with stars and the thumbnail of salt so you know where to go for that resource.
this is
not terrible but i don’t think we need it
Yeah these are good but I was thinking more of resources like Oxygen, Gold, Copper but on the thumbnails for space stations when interacting with the teleporters. I mean as you get more and more into the game the more Space Stations and base locations will be generated as warp locations. Eventually there will be so many Space Stations that it will be hard to keep track of what space station sells a needed resource when you need it in a pinch and don't have the time to go out and mine it. It would save a lot more time then going to one, two or three space stations looking for the resources you want and arrive at a locations that doesn't sell what you need.
The only other way to efficiently travel to purchase something that you need in a pinch would be to add a resource dropdown menu for the space stations menu.
When you select the space station tab only the space stations you have visited will show up. Depending on what is being sold through the trade terminals in front of the teleporters at the space stations, When you select Salt from the dropdown menu all the space stations that don't sell salt at the trade terminal will be hidden, so only the space stations that have salt will be visible. This way if you need an abundance of a resource you can warp to only the stations that sell sed resource with out accidentally warping to a station that doesn't sell the resource resulting in wasted time.
I think I it'd be cool if the stars you saw in space actually reflected stars on the galaxy map, and that when you warp to one it plays something similar to the pulse drive rather than just playing a cut scene and teleporting you there
Would be more immersive I think, to see your ship turn towards the star you selected and then boost there
I think this would be difficult to implement though so I'm not holding my breath for a feature like that.
Yeah don't. The system load for something like that would skyrocket
I mean, the star positions could be calculated when loading the new system.
Or perhaps the stars can still be fake, but you can still see the ship turn towards one before playing the cut scene
Not every star in the galaxy needs to be taken into account for the illusion to work. Just ones that are reasonably close.
The rest can just be fake
Thats just what you have now, you can't visually tell the difference anyway

I should think before I post I think
Definitely
I do think they should reintroduce first person warping though. Idk why they removed that
And also allowing you to still walk around your freighter while warping would be cool.
Though once again that might not be possible because the game needs to generate the system at the same time, which would make things laggy, unless the generation system is lazier when you do it from a freighter
You pointed out the issue yourself
I mean yeah but there is a solution to it. It just depends if people would care enough about that to warrant a slightly slower loading time
My first answer would be no, but it's still fun to speculate and throw ideas out even if that's the case
I mean, me personally, I would be willing to make that sacrifice
#1 you can't name it (I think)
#2 those don't display properly from a teleporter
I'd love if we got some more customizability for frigates.
I find the mini freighter-esque layout really nice. Maybe if we were able to enter the crew cabin, change the paints, or build inside.
Quite niche to actually board a frigate, but maybe some additional functions to doing so, other than looking around, like being able to assist during missions.
I'd love it if you could give the sentry a sentenel ship so it could fly around with you in space
(Also for it to be able to fly around in your friegher while you are in it)
(Maybe laylaps could give you an upgrade to let them help you with the frieghter, giving a toggleable option to automatically warp your freighter to the same system as you, and have it stay near you)
why is he still holding the staff like a gun? there's no handle and trigger to pull. can this be fixed?
like why's the staff resting on top of his hand?
this bothers me way more than it should...
I have always complained about that and wish they would fix it so it was closer to where your base was
To be fair I think it’s better like that
If you just hold the staff vertically and it shoots from the top then that just kind of looks weird
No. I’m talking about the right hand pulling a trigger that isn’t there. The right hand should be holding on to the staff. Not holding air.
Oh I understand
I Just wouldn't mind a easy official way to run connections to the location
Trust me I've said for years I wish they would fix the electricity on how you connect bases and stuff cuz it's too far out and half the time they don't reach the base that you have
@topic They should make clusters where all three are in close proximity to each other. Unless the whole point was for outposts not bases. If you have a decent connection I don't see a problem with teleporting from base to outpost or outpost to outpost.
This is just speculation but I think that is why most of the different natural bulk resources like Gas, Electric Fields, and mineral formations are located such a long way from each other.
It is inconvenient and I am aware that people always want to make things even more convenient no matter how convenient the developers make it. The developers could have added a minimal distance to enable teleportation and that minimal could have been further than these recourses are scattered out. This means you would either have to run, drive or fly to those locations. But there is no minimal distance that effects that so we should count our selves lucky that the Devs were considerate enough to think of that minimal convenience at very least.
@upper scarab with consideration to the topic try building your home base at a Electrical Field location as that is a more stationary resource and build outposts at the other recourses and make sure you can teleport to those locations.
I know if you already have a complex base setup already you probably won't want to do the whole building another complex base but think of the convenience after.
I have a kind of complex base for my Oxygen farm but that is only because I have not found an electrical field on the planet I am making my home base.
future suggestion: this has been on my mind for awhile, since there's sentinel robotic race, right? so why not add sentinels as a race option you can change into in the character editor? seems good to me, but idk about everyone else
Not sure if these planets exist.
Would be nice if we had planets similar to our planet.
Just having the deep rivers running through them big land area separated by a deep ocean & sea.
Not sure how it's on PC:
Would be nice if the Nautilon went straight with only 1 thumb stick 😀 I have to keep using the right stick 2 keep it straight while the left make it go forward.
This could be a PS5/console thing 🤔
Because sentinels are not a race, at least not in the same way as Vykeen or Korvax
I mean, it would go well with the sentinel ships you can get in the game
What about the autophage?
Autophage could be considered a race I suppose
Doesn't change anything I said
The interceptors we find are not ships flown by sentinels, they are sentinels that we force to obey us. Kind of like living ships.
i always assumed the broken autophage we find next to the crashed sentinel ships were the pilots
They may have been the ones who created the rudimentary cockpit, but sentinel ships are not made to be flown by humanoids
Why there is even enough space in there to house a person, and a mechanism to open the roof is beyond me.
I think in the tech description the cockpit is described as "vestigal" and has to be fitted with new tech to avoid literally consuming the occupant
So I think its implied but not visible that you refitted the cockpit to be able to house yourself
I wonder if world’s 2.0 will add little rivers or streams to the mainland, and perhaps highlands
More biomes will always be welcome
I know water physics is practicely impossible but at least currants and waves would add to that water feeling
Instead of having water act as a liquid that moves i'd love currants that push you and stuff around and waves
Would love more big and small base decorations, both indoor and outdoor. I live this game so much! CAN'T wait for whats to come before Light No Fire. Which also something im anticipating.
ngl id be so excited for more decorations
and more base building parts
I want more interesting prefab doors
You mean autophages? Alr in game.
Korvax? Alr in game.
Actual sentinels? Just floating boxes & wouldn't make sense gameplay/lorewise.
You kinda can with the autophage, they have heads made of sentinels
Theyre' so cool lol
A handful of things I would love to see in the future:
- A new playable or NPC race, maybe even a couple, inspired by mythology in some way. Norse, Japanese, Egyptian, whatever.
— I already have a few ideas I’d be willing to share with anyone interested, but maybe not in this channel, for clutter reasons. - The ability to replay expired expeditions for a small fee. I imagine HG needs the revenue, and I want to be able to experience all of those expeditions that I missed!
- An OVA-style intro, set to curated or original music. (Skippable of course.)
— I actually already have a song in mind, and the guy who composed it is a self-proclaimed No Man’s Sky fan. - Gas giants (and maybe smoke rings.)
- A mining beam upgrade for ice. (Not just water ice, but methane ice, dry ice, clathrates, etc.)
- Maybe a named NPC that’s an overgrown Sentinel AI and became self-aware, and is now tasked with guarding ||the simulation’s digital underworld. So, literally Anubis, but a robot.||
And in my mind, that last one works, because according to an old guy called Plato… Egypt was actually a colony of Atlantis—which literally translates to “Isle of Atlas”.)
Maybe Sentinels occasionally have humanoid-shaped representatives who need to be transported.
I love ur ideas
Anubis: “No, Traveler. I am a Sentinel. You may not bribe me with dog treats.”
P2W expeditions
Hello there travellers! One thing i was thinking about the game is the on-foot combat, i would love to see some overhaul on it. Like changing animations for the character when aiming the multitool, maybe a "backpack" support that holds the multitool while you're not using and you grab it from the backpack. I'm not appealing to turn the focus of the game on the combat, but nice animations can go a long way. The staff also feels really weird since it copys the multitools aiming animations. What yall think?
I also really like the idea of being able to repay for expeditions, I'm planning on modding them back in at some point just to experience them and it feels like HG is missing on revenue doing that lol
NGL I think Hello could literally just add an optional donation button to NMS can get a revenue stream at this point lol, no paywalled content needed
I very much agree with adding gas giants
maybe 'cloud cities' hidden deep within the layers of gas, with unique traders and stuff, would be an incentive to actually go there
also on the topic of planets, I'd be very keen to see more biomes/cool landforms such as volcanic jungles or cryovolcanoes
U can just buy other hg games
Agreed, I wish in general exotic worlds were more varied. i.e hexplate worlds, shattered worlds, contoured worlds, etc. have several different features that can be mixed and matched like any other biome (kinda like how chromatic worlds have several different types of weird megaflora because they are based on lush worlds). It would make them more interesting rather than just a thing that shocks you the first time you see it and then become boring the rest of the time you see it.
yeah definitely
in a game like NMS, any variation is good variation
also being able to harvest resources like ammonia from cryovolcanoes would be very useful
Also: A personal wish of mine is to bring back the pre-NEXT thing where you couldn't tell what biome a planet would be until you landed on it, I always liked that mystery even if its kind of a game design flaw lol
Perhaps as a difficulty feature
I'm not sure i'd want to completely obscure the planet type until you land on it, but as a compromise, maybe giving something like a temp/humidity range when initially scanned from space, which would give the player an idea of what it's likely to be, but not necessarily a guarantee
like if several biome types had similar temps/humidities, you'd be surprised upon landing
yeah
i really loved that suprise back in the wee atlas rises days, watching all the plants slowly pop in and realizing "wow this planet is weird" is an awesome feeling and i dont get that anymore now in the post-NEXT era of "presses c oh thats a toxic one presses c oh thats a hot one presses c oh thats a cold one"
Not Pay-to-Win, just “Pay once to play them again forever if you missed them because you took a five year break from the game due to unemployment/homelessness”
“Nitro” worlds (aka “Energetic” worlds, “Explosive” worlds, and “Boom Rocks”), where literally everything can explode if you’re not careful because it’s got nitromethane, nitroglycerin, or some other highly energetic substance in it.
And I fully expect the game to override the camera settings if you die on one of these worlds, because seeing your ragdoll go flying after a chain reaction would be hilarious.
A way to get rid of damaged machinery. Those things are the bane of my existence sometimes. They get in the way of builds, and views. PLEASE let me annihilate them.
Triatomic hydrogen
What's everyone's theory on Worlds Part 2
My guess is either an over haul of caves or an overhaul of alien lifeforms
purpl
I really wish we could do more with our capital ship and frigates. Also being able to claim territory under a federation that you name. Could merge with others and create cooperation between them
So basically procedurally generated eve online?
what if, they added o'neil cylinders? all they would have to do is functionally the opposite of planetary gravity, and make it a ring or cylinder instead of a sphere.
So we can be The Expanse?
Hey, you know how Laylaps is always scanning things? Wouldn’t it be neat if they could share their scan data with you?
similar, yes
I dunno if NMS multiplayer could handle factional interaction, let alone factional pvp lol
Would definitely need to scrap the p2p and use central servers lol
I'd like this, maybe something like you have to find a gas giant, and then send out a frigate expedition and they'll set up a small base floating there and it's like a while quest to unlock something new
That would be cool
Water
That’d be very interesting
But I envisioned cloud cities to be more like the gas giant equivalent of settlements (i.e. NPC-controlled), but they’d be set on massive floating platforms and covered by a huge environmental dome
Then you’d find them by following signals within the gas giant
And they’d have unique tech/resources to get from there
e.g some kind of synthetic storm crystal manufacturing device or something along those lines
I'd kinda like the ability to make huge fleets of frigates and freighters like NPC fleets you see with the ability to have fleet battles and the ability to create like an empire similarly to star wars where you have core planets then ones with mining colonies spread across
Kinda funny how there's like a communications system built into the game but nothing is done with it in terms of sending outgoing communications
I've never thought of that lol
One feature I find missing from NMS is base-specific storage (storage containers but not linked)
I'd actually hate this because you'd have to remember which base you kept something in when you needed it
i would really like to see some form of an item vault
like a space you access in the anomaly to store items but you can buy more slots to an infinite degree
maybe make slots scarce and hard to come by in this said vault but stack sizes are practically uncapped
i say this because im a hoarder
The sheer socioeconomic imbalance which would result may require Sentinel intervention
Then don't use the feature :/
Keep track of stuff :/
Idk what to say then, it's your own fault if you lose things, it's like asking minecraft to remove non-ender chests bc you can't organize
This is something that would benefit the whole, maybe instead of shutting it down because of a lack of a certain skill on your end, you could build on it to improve your qol without destroying something that would greatly benefit many
Such as, accessible & searchable cargo manifests
They should render the player flailing helplessly when going thru a portal
Like how the ship is rendered when warping
I agree
Scrap and fabricate ships with particular stickers
??
like, you know the little icons on the side of ships? for some reason you cant customize the icons (or their color) when making a custom ship
Oh odd
Lol
Even better if the stickers could be dynamically changed (this is totally for realism not because I dont want to rebuild my ship 😉)
It would be cool if we could decorations with Exacavated bones to like make what bone looked like.
Some ideas I had for future NMS races (connected lore optional, though they’ve all got a theme going on)
———
-
Norse-inspired wolves: Surprisingly well-developed for being a recent addition to the ATLAS simulation, because they actually came from a different simulation, one focused less on entire universes, and more on interconnected ecosystems. The “Yggdrasil” simulation still has interplanetary travel, but the scope is a lot smaller. These wolves also have a socialist economic structure. Pending names include “Fenrathi”, “Skoll”, “Varulf”, etc. They actually come in three forms: Biped, Quadruped, and Tauriform. The last one is actually a rare genetic mutation, but you’ll find them a lot more frequently than the quadruped form for one simple reason: “I don’t have hands, how am I supposed to fly a starship?”
-
Big, crystalline cats: ‘rawr, I’m feral.’ This one kinda sums itself up. They are also from the Yggdrasil simulation.
-
Dryads (working name), sapient plants which reproduce by undergoing symbiogenesis with more mobile hosts (merging with people, animals, etc.) Their main cultural artifact is “ancestral soil”, sorta like Gek have their relics, Korvax have their casings, etc. Dryads are also from the Yggdrasil simulation.
-
Iridescent-colored fish-fox-things, who tend to get very protective/possessive of the people they like. Don’t get too friendly with one, or they might never let you adventure again. (Again, Yggdrasil simulation.)
-
Quetzal, feathered dragon people who have a hardwired protective instinct (if they turn to piracy, they’re still protecting something). Not originally from the Yggdrasil OR Atlas simulations, they are actually survivors from another simulation that crashed a long time ago. They’re also herbivores, surprisingly.
-
Nyxari (nocturnal rabbit-people) and
-
Mjöll (diurnal moth people),
both of these races actually grew up on the same planet. Originally a prosperous culture of artists, scientists and philosophers… when the Yggdrasil simulation intersected with the Atlas simulation, they were at the nexus point, and the Sentinels did not take kindly to the presence of a fully developed simulation appearing out of seemingly nowhere. Now both races are trying to rebuild…
———
Any suggestions, comments, approval/disapproval?
First person hyperdrive screen when in first person in the ship, I think this would be a nice qol change
probably wouldnt work for nms but would be sick in lnf
I mean, I do hope at least one of them shows up in No Man’s Sky, even in an extremely limited capacity
Also, re:symbiogenesis… becoming a dryad host may result in extreme temporary disorientation (including personality instability and memory scramble) as two the minds of two sapient organisms literally merge
number 3 reminds me of the npc Helios (tree jesus, cause he glows lol) (slthough fantastical creature wise he would be an ent) in the space anomaly, and i do like the sound of a yggdrasil simulation, it sounds like something that would happen during an expedition, like the cursed one
also quadrupeds can be found at trading towers/hubs and freighters instead of space stations
hehheh the dyrad system can have the highest demand for dirt and therefore have the best selling prices for it
I think maybe “rawr, I’m feral” isn’t enough to sell an entire species when the audience isn’t exclusively cat owners… so the Quorvan need some fleshing out.
“Biologically speaking, we’re actually more common than the taurs, but you only see them and bipeds at space stations. Also, Gek capitalism displeases us.” - Quadruped Varulf/Fenrathi/Skoll (somebody help me settle on a name)
Perhaps the crystal cats (Quorvan) have serious trust issues because they evolved on a planet with mimics, which would pretend to be inanimated objects and sleeping prey, only to secretly be the Quorvan’s natural predator.
And because Norse vibes, “Loki!” is a common swear word for them, meaning “Deceiver!”
Quetzal could actually be the original source of the contraband Iridescent Feathers.
Nyxari and Mjöll could unofficially consider themselves a single race, as they evolved together, built their civilization together, got massacred by Sentinels together, and occasionally interbreed (perks of evolving in the same biosphere!)
I’m thinking, because all of the Yggdrasil races evolved in the same interconnected simulation, while they have their own languages for internal use, they might also have a unified language for cross-civilization trade.
So… that makes several new languages.
- Fenrathi / Varulf / Skoll
- Nyxari / Mjöll
- Quorvan
- Dryad
- [Fish-fox language] (this species still needs a name)
- Yggdrasil trade language (when in doubt, they all speak Yggdrasil)
- Quetzal (originally from a previous simulation, currently taking refuge in the Yggdrasil simulation and considered extinct in the Atlas simulation)
@rancid gulch

Ok, I'm sorry Gunter
Supernatural Planets
- Supernatural planets are less common than regular planets.
- These planets generally take nms planet generation to extremes and lower certain restrictions so much that before you enter a planet you receive a warning so your vegetable aisle pc won't explode.
- Terrain shape and height, fauna/flora density, fauna/flora size, weather(they may include 2 or more high hazards) etc
You could even see giant flora from outside the planet
I really wish you could transfer base ownership to another player
-
Freighter to Freighter combat for PCs. Give us something to do with that Dread or super capitol.
-
More varied ship parts for more Flavor.
-
Some “outside” enemy, maybe representing a computer virus with its own ships or something.
Step on them with the Minotaur.
Corporate Takeover expedition, in which Polo goes missing and a Gek Conglomerate tries to purchase the Space Anomaly, turning it into a dystopian space mall with overpriced apartments (and the apartments have runaway mould, which you can refine into nanites). Would include new mechanics which parody the modern gaming and tech industries.
A satirical expedition :3
This works I have done it
Do devs actually take any suggestions to the game?
Yes, although there are not any devs in this server
!hg
You can submit bug reports, suggestions or feedback to Hello Games here: https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
You can submit suggestions to the developers there
ah
Can you not just use TM to mine the ground beneath it?
In that case, I’m going to make a proper design document.
Submitted
No, they just float unfortunately, I've tried running them over too
Ah
This is good then
Bump
Manless exosphere
Carrying a Signal Booster in my pocket 24/7 ... out here listening for distress signals ... my starship can pick up distress signals sporadically from Artemis and others across vast distances... but it can't scan for basic distress signals from low orbit or even within planetary atmosphere ... of course the Cartographers in the space stations all have 99 charts of known distress signals they don't seem very concerned about ...
Wait- then what's this channel for then? If not for suggesting future features?
read the channel description
Poetic 👌
It is better to submit your ideas directly to their Zendesk, or failing that, send an email
That said… I think it’s a shame what happened to shuttles.
Shuttles used to fill a niche, but that niche was made obsolete with updates to the game.
If ships had a Passenger Seating stat, then Shuttles might become relevant again, as Passenger Seating could be their stat bonus.
revamp abandoned buildings into something more than a lore dump and nanite source
imagine like an abandoned complex that goes underground and works somewhat similar to a derelict
maybe im just too far in late game but i wish stuff in nms was more threatening in general minus turning on survival mode lol
bigger planets w more diverse terrain and higher skies
Living planets
Living freighters
Living galaxy
So...I think I just learned that the gek can't wear the gek helmet...I'm considering this a bug. Anyone have a clue when they plan to...."Fix" this?
- HG usually doesn't share info about game development in general
- It's not a single case, the same point can be made for Eye of Korvax mask so it's most likely intentional
- If you actually play the game and learn the lore about First Spawn you might see why a Gek wouldn't want to wear it
The Gek 🇬🇷
Idea for a 10th anniversary expedition: no man's sky legacy. It would have the first phase be more standard things, and add you to though the stages you get to systems unlocked in more recent updates, such as fishing in the fourth phase or something. The rewards would be the legacy base parts and freighter parts, and the overall reward would be a ship. But not just any ship - the og sentinel ship style
I would like legacy base building parts.
Imagine if the color palette/models also changed from release -> next -> beyond -> worlds over the phases
At least as much as the post-next engine can allow
I love the color, but it would be great to get updated textures
So youd start with old lowpoly radiant pillar and the old palette and then theyd develop over time lol
The premise would be built off of the cursed where the time anomaly has caused the whole simulation to roll back and the players gotta fix it
imagine if the resources reverted back to pre-next. that should be easy, just realias condensed carbon back to thamium9, dihydrogen back to heridium, etc.
For the expedition idea I had? That would be so fun!
also realias the tech packages back into alpha, beta, tau, etc.
This could be a viable expedition idea
yeah real
Maybe something like every phase you enter a portal that takes you to the next iteration
yeah
Might be hard to update but they could just add the minerals back as new items and stuff
Id want a placeable heridium/rubidium/cymatygen/etc pillar as a reward
That would be cool
Honestly what I really want is the legacy freighter parts and the OG sentinel fighter
More slots for having multiple multitools
Resource flora and minerals should be different on all planets
Or at least have their own procedural gen
Im talking about things like oxygen plants, salt crystals etc
As well as hazardous flora
It'd add a lot to them as well considering all hazardous flora annoyingly block your path than truly act as traps
But also ruin landscapes with their same design
Better procedural gen for minerals & such in general, instead of having like 5 types of things, make it have a bunch of factors and branching paths & things
People complain about everything being similar, add more variety to biomes
100% also more variety in exotic worlds so the shock factor of discovering one lasts for longer
True
speaking of exotic biomes, long ago i came up with two ideas that i thought would be cool:
- flattened planet / vectorized planet / incomplete planet - black and white biome of an almost "line art" style. flora would be branching structures resembling trees or shrubs, and fauna would be like a kinda stick-figure dog or similar. flora/fauna would also be "2d" and have no thickness. landscape would be shaded with very simple colors, with the landscape-sky division having a thick outline. would have an extremely high-contrast monochrome chromatic fog.
- mercurial planet / liquefied planet / simplified planet - glossy biome with little terrain variation and instead basically endless oceans that almost look like liquid metal. flora and fauna would be like suspended globules of liquid above the surface (almost like a cross between a bubble bloodballoon and a hydrogarden wisp). would have a chromatic fog of any color in the rainbow. implications that it was a normal planet after some grey goo scenario occurred.
Be cool if we get worlds with a horde style of monsters. Maybe not zombies but similar to the way they are displayed in “the last of us” with fungi humanoid like monsters that swarm you. You could build a base with walls to prevent them from attacking. This includes spore like ships
does anyone think it would be awesome if our starships had an interior. so we could exit our seat and customize our starships from inside
Would need a re design of all the ships, none are anywhere near big enough for that. Or... A new ship type?
Multiple bioms on 1plannet... a new ship class maby even the equivalent of a freighter u can fly/land place objects in and... the option to buy or craft ship customisations insted of scrapping to get them
I’m kind of hoping the purple star systems that got teased back in World P1 will have multi-biome planets
I like these both
Another idea I’d like to put forward: Shattered Planet
Planet that’s quite literally got massive chunks coming off it, exposing even its core. As a result, there is a much larger range of minerals exposed for mining, with rarer ones nearer to the core
make runaway mould farmable
Add a Corvette type ship. Bigger than a standard ship, smaller then a frigate, able to drive and customize the inside
And the OG exosuit backpack
What og backpack?
I thought the standard one has always been there
@inland compass you mean this?
I agree, we need it
They have a "refreshed" legacy backpack in the quicksilver shop
they should let us go full factorio and allow us to pipe supply depot output onto refiners
I wish there were restaurants on the planets and more depth of where the geks and others live
or a punk hazard planet would be amazing too
Yes but this one looks better
they should add bird feeders so we can get birds as companions
Worlds pt 2 should add that, could be the main feature if you ask me
Building a custom ship out of modules would be nice. Not just for looks, but also in functionality. Bigger means more space, but less speed and maneuverability. A tradeoff between tech modules and storage. Stuff like that. Would be a nice way of designing your ship
Like creating more depth to the current system
ONE PIECE MENTIONED
Not quite the same, though
You can actually obtain those on PC through mods/save edits. Fun fact: They are internally classified as fighters, not interceptors.
But like I want a way for people who can't save edit to get then
Same
I just did the Starbirth quest and all I can say is: What a horrible quest.
One part at a time, waiting for each one to mature.
Getting this material and that one.
And even then, after all that effort, the goddamn autosave ruins my savescum when I think I have the whispering one that I've been trying to get.
I'm okay with getting all the parts, but I'd LOVE to be led to each one directly after the first rather than being low-balled and forced to wait for it just so I can get the next.
Hell I'm fine with waiting.
Just not LITERAL DAYS.
At least add some sort of gravity time dilation mechanic that disobeys velocity-based time dilation as a way to expedite things.
Why am I saying this all here?
To see that BS changed
I love this game to bits, but now I honestly can't even look at it with the BS I've been through for one measly ship.
Anyway, hope this gets to the devs as a genuine critique.
Even Warframe has a way to rush stuff.
Consider something like it, maybe, so you don't have to fanangle with the steps of that quest.
Love the game and how far it's come. This is my frustrated input.
Anyway, bye.
Starbirth was released at a time before expeditions existed. there's a few game quests like the settlements that rely on real-world timers and such, and I think they were put in to try to keep player engagement up. expeditions became the solution for that and they stopped doing those timer quests. but yeah... they aren't great
Starbirth was not meant to do in one go. Just a thing to do in the meantime. If u go from that angle its much more bearable.
Also u should not savescum the first ship. Bc when getting another u dont have to gather the parts again.
Living ships are old feature to be fair and could use some refresh. They where much stronger before 4.0 and their uniqe perks where more fleshed out.
I hope we see more new planet types
I hope we get to have multiple biomes on planets that would be cool
true
and maybe terrain types for stone and stuff. So there are cooler biomes and more unique.
But also maybe limit this to some planets.
and not like unhabitables.
Waiting for the materia to mature in the starbirth quest don’t bother me at all. Gave me something extra to look forward to the next day or so in the game. I also don’t really enjoy the games that cater to instant gratification too much. I feel like NMS has excellent balance.
Instant gratification just leads to people getting bored faster as they finish sooner and thus have less to do/look forward too.
But if you don't like the wait, the PC version has mods to speed things up.
my guess if worlds pt. 2 gas giants are real: the bottom core of gas giants are high-pressure enough to make some kind of "land", so if they go in that direction a new 'pressure' hazard protection
who would want that though? the "fog" would be so thick you wouldn't be able to see anything in front of you
Idealy it shouldn't be thick enough where it blocks everything but you still see nearby things?
If gas giants were to be implemented, I'd assume there'd be a thick cloud layer the ship won't fly beneath, and you'd have to land on one of many floating islands/structures around the place.
A new exocraft would be cool as well
Speaking of planets i'd like to see hazards and different planetary modifications
Frozen ocean, geothermal activity, floods(made in a way that isn't taxing), acid sump, earthquakes etc and of course, just plain rain and rainstorms in non-lush planets
Hey all, returning player here. I'm really excited to be coming back to the game after so long, and I just completed The Cursed rerun! I was wondering if anyone knows whether another rerun cycle will begin after the current schedule. I really want to get the stealth starship coatings, but unfortunately I missed the Adrift rerun (pls @ me if anyone knows).
Redux usually takes place once a year, in the holidays season and features expedition released during that year
Recently Hello Games started adding an older expedition to the redux as extra. Like couple years old expeditions
Adrift is a new expedition from last year so if you missed the redux I wouldn't expect it to return anytime soon
Thanks! Tough luck. I’ll be around for when it comes back, though, I’m sure.
volcanic worlds should have lava oceans which deal damage if you try to swim in them
Really looking forward to seeing what the new updates gonna be
Hoping it's Worlds Part 2
I too hope for that but let's all be patient even if it isn't worlds 2 that will eventually come out whether now or later
An upgrade to the submarine to work in lava would be great
And lava could always be extreme heat damage so you can get the resistance up to survive
Not too different from things like boiling oceans, just visually different
God I really hope we get a massive ocean revamp for Worlds Part 2.
Please Sean.
Give me my abyssal depths that go down for thousands of meters into the lightless dark and leviathan sized sea creatures.
||it's pretty likely||
so subnautica but NMS
Fuck yeah.
i hope new oceans comes with a new hazard protection
like "pressure" or something
managing two hazards would be interesting
Oh heck yeah.
My minimal hope is abyssal benthic areas of nothing but darkness and the sandy bottom of the sea floor.
My maximal hope is 3 ocean biomes, shallow reefs, open ocean, abyssal depths. With leviathans.
Multi crew movable spaceships please. Also maybe this update will add gas giants?
Oh that would be so cool, maybe something a little like void crew would be nice
I read Somewhere its was not possible with how no man sky work
I just wish I could walk around on a living frigate, or heck, a living freighter, while we're at it! The VR immersion would rock my socks!
We need some new space objects
Like imagine seeing a neutron star or an asteroid that wipes out half your planet
Or even a supernova In binary systems that are super rare
Imagine neutron star killing your ship As soon as you enter the beam of matter, You will need a new type of ship (why not) essential to mine in these stars etc)
And there's an extremely rare supernova that just obliterates the system you're on and you wake up halfway across the galaxy
That would be tbh lol
Large scale events could be crazy
I’d like a multi crew ship like the Roccinante. I so want a ship that looks like the Rocci
I dont see gameplay need for multi crew ships. Just add auto follow your teammate ship function. Simliar to RDR horse riding.
||that's apparently what's in the files||
can it be a thing that if falling a great distance - when trying to conserve jetpack energy - that it seems to dissapear even if full leading to injury and death?
can that be fixed?
But it would be nice to at least have ship interiors
I don’t get the fascination with gas giants, you’d just fly through them and the novelty would wear off real fast.
That’s kind of the thing though, they should create a gameplay around it if they add it. Kinda like fishing.
U can just roleplay that u cant land on ringed planets. Boom. Gas giants
Not much use for fishing tho. I completed fish catalouge once. Never again.
@mental jacinth
No gifs in this channel please
Oh.
[Vibrating Intensely]
Have new ship model, interior, new weapon mecanics (friend shoot for you) new customisation, lot of thing. Not everything need to have deep GamePlay, feature is very important
Me: still waiting to see what those racing flags in the Orbital teaser were about
So like... is he potentially teasing Worlds Part 3?
No
Hmm, maybe not.
He posted 3 earth emoji's when Worlds Part 1 dropped.
And now 3 Saturn emojis.
But then he's also posted 3 emojis on other things.
I guess we can't be too greedy.
Tbh we'll only know if there'll be a part three when part two releases
So likely around the 5th
-HOTAS support
-space station ownership
-something to spend billions of dollars on (terraforming?)
I feel piloting isn’t really all that enough for HOTAS
ownership sounds extreme
My personal wishlist:
- Deeper oceans with more biomes
- Lava oceans on volcanic planets instead of water
- Cryovolcanoes on icy planets
- Frozen-over oceans (I.e you can walk on top of them, but can use the terrain manipulator to burrow through the ice and get to the water below)
- improved fauna behaviour (some creatures being more curious/skittish than others, predators and prey, herd/pack/solo behaviour)
- Gas giants
- Planetside dungeons
i hope they add more updates in the future
All of this
If we're getting proper oceans, we better get a proper boat exocraft
My only issue with the exo skiff is the potential
Shit id like to own more than one. And fleets to supply them.
Basically just steal some gameplay elements from X4 foundations
i think we're getting gas giants
Bottom feeder that extends its mouth to catch small fish and stuff
I'd love seafloor fauna
Gas giants would be cool but my one worry would be what would you actually do on them?
Make pics
Aside from floating trading posts obviously
They'd probably have floating islands or something
I’m wondering whether the gas giant thing is totally off. Did anyone get the urn clue?
Saturn was the god of time among other things, so maybe we’ll get time travel.
thats actually a good point. could be a very round about way to connect it with the ruins possibly
Now that you say it yeah they'd probably have floating islands like in Avatar. They'd have to
As I've seen someone state it, there's no other planet emojis except the other earth emojis, so I wouldn't expect the gas giant thing to be out of the line, but I think it is off
Yeah I think it can just be referring to more alien planets
What happens if you fall off a floating island on a gas giant? You just die and lose all your stuff?
There is no gas giants in game yet. U can set what u loose when dying in options.
Implosion
I mean like, it'd be pretty much impossible to go and retrieve your grave, right?
you can also play in creative mode or not launch the game at all. None of those things fix the major design flaw that adding a bottomless void that players would accidentally fall into all the time would be.
Grave just would have to spawn a bit earlier from the place u died. Simliar to dark souls mechanics
That could work
Grave already works kinda like that
last place you were standing rather than falling
Or records position from 5s back or something
Random thought: what if when pirates attacked freighters, they used boarding parties as well, and you could go onto a freighter in combat to fight off the boarding pirates?
I honestly hope they add in a Sentinel-controlled systems, where instead of the normal system having a "leading" race, it has a special space station like the Pirate ones
They could add in a sentinel ship customization section there, Along with special items/upgrades sold there
more crime and piracy maybe?
Sentinel stations after detecting you have meat in your inventory:

probably would have a bunch of moons instead
to be honest the 🪐 post might just mean we get proper planet rings
or just 'hey worlds 2 soon'
I just want an option to remove the automatic takeoff and landing, to be able to do it ourselves (enter the stations etc too)
can't say i have actually
A lot of people end up describing basically elite dangerous as far as ship control. I personally do not play that game because it's trying to be a sim, where NMS is not
This is a good reason to think this ngl
if its the pic of Saturn from a probe ive seen it
I think we’re all off. The Cassini space probe was sent to study the moons of Saturn. Cassini himself studied the earth’s moon. The latest starship we got was a Millenium Falcon ripoff.
So Death Stars. We’re getting Death Stars.
What, it’s a theory.
I talk about option, Still good to have the choice
While that is a neat theory, wouldn't it make more sense for Sean to post a pic of one of Saturn's moons? Or post a moon emoji?
Instead of a gas giant emoji whilist reposting a picture of Saturn itself (Which is what the emoji's based on)?
I think they're just joking mate
Even if it wasn't a joke, I'd fw Death Star-like systems in NMS lol
If we do get gas planets, then I think space walks from our starship or from our freighter are likely
I get the desire for new vistas, but I would like more exploration gameplay additions. Pirate land bases to infiltrate, procedural dungeon-like spaces to explore. Local procedural lore that leads you to dynamic missions. Procedural upgrade modules that you can find through exploration which have unique, random abilities.
Yes of course I was joking. I’m very intrigued by the gas planet idea and hopefully sorting also
I hope they do a wipe, and we get giant mountains and deep oceans like we'll likely have in LNF
But I imagine that depth might look weird when planets aren't real scale and we fly in and see a giant mountain come out of the blurry goop of a planet
I’m wondering how base building would work without a place to put a computer
probably a workbench of some kind like almost every building game does
thing about the gas giants is, if we get a deep ocean overhaul, then aside from seeing gas giants in space, what would really be the difference? gas giants would just be like foggy oceans
Best case for gas giants I can see in current nms is 1000-2000u (basically the thickness of the atmosphere on planets) of dense fog
also gas giants are -- as their name suggests -- much much bigger than normal planets. so HG would need to create a new planet size and make sure that they aren't colliding in their placements with existing planets
yeah, the max atmospheric height of planets seems like it would need to be increased, otherwise gas giants wouldn't seem much different than normal ones
I think there's a lot of technical challenges to overcome and maybe not that many good reasons to spend the time solving them
I think it would be cool to have optional atmospheric flight dynamics
Imagine being able to fly around like in Microsoft flight sim with trimming and turbulence and stuff
Yeah, my thoughts exactly, but let's say we would get gas planets/giants
I don't see what would be there to do on gas giants, basic NMS doesn't have that many activities on planets to begin with and gas giants take almost all of them out
Let's say we would be able to somehow enter the gas planets
Creatures? Nope, unless HG uses only flying creatures, in that case most of them wouldn't be an option for adoption.
Hunting ships/multitools? There are no floating structures and i don't see HG reinventing everything to ship it all as floating structures
Base building? Taking pictures? Awful visibility all around.
Someone mentioned farming gas or floating cities but again, I don't see any of that happening
If resources from gas giants can be found in less tedious places then no point, if gas giants had their own set of resources then they would either be as useful as basalt or HG would have to design a whole bunch of new recipes
They'll probably have to have a major activities overhaul if they wanna do gas giants
Newly introduced mechanic Fishing most likely wouldn't be an option too
I don't see how the survival gameplay would work at all. It'd probably be all ship, spaceport, and derelict gameplay
Omg atmospheric and crashed derelicts would be awesome
I get the doubts, but Sean's been kinda hinting at Gas Giants ngl lol
From the emote to the Saturn pic repost
Floating terrain 🤷
NMS isn't bound to science and there's other Sci fi that does just this
With the same collision as floating islands?
Just voxel terrain
I mean
A big update means it won't be in its current state
The engine can handle earth sized planets with realistically thick atmosphere too
I personally would like return of legacy raw materials for new craft
So on the assumption that game won't be how it is now we can go with any kind of speculations no matter how wild, unpractical or unrealistic?
Not really because the terrain start to generate when you Land
Come on now...
It has to be
Would I be wrong in thinking this?
Never say never where Sean/HG is concerned, but if you mean "this has to be gas giants", people have been bamboozled by Sean's emojis for years now
I mean, yah. We've had less likely stuff added. I don't think we're getting gas giants but it's a weird thing to be caught up on 🤷
I specifically say it cause of the Saturn repost
If he reposts Jupiter or summ next
Then yeah, imma feel more vindicated
Sean is the second biggest game industry internet troll, next to Hideo Kojima
I just thing its related ring gonna have upgrade with new volumetric system lol
Apparently it was the cursed update, the 23rd October
He's such a troll and I love it
Yeah then there's Hideo Kojima
no man sky is on sale on xbox
I mean the gib emoji was given, so I am thinking it's very soon, Wednesday at latest
Imagine today 👀
Right now I think it could be, since technically where I'm at it's Tuesday in the very early am
Aren't the gib uploaded very near to the cowboy
Like under a day? I don't wanna say it comes Tuesday because that would be unusual
So quite a bit ago eh? Interesting
There were minor updates like patches and the starborn phoenix
Can happen, but unlikely imo
I'm just thinking that Sean used Saturn because of the fact that it's the other planet emoji except earth
But then why repost Saturn, maybe the resemblance to the emoji, maybe there's a detail to be noticed? Oh well that's too much analyzing he just maybe thought hehe that looks like Saturn and that'll troll our community
I guess. I want to assume Gas Giants, but ik that's a big ordeal
But with the Worlds update revamping how worlds operate and whatnot? I wouldn't be shocked if Part 2 had a HG go the extra mile
I'm thinking that if gas giants happen it won't be now, and I'll be pleasantly surprised if it does
But then
Yeah there's the whole
What to do with a gas giant
But why? Why would they go that extra mile?
Bc that's a pretty big mile
What's so fun about gas giants?
Exploration and cool visuals.
Ik there is no surface, but imagine how cool flying inside those gasses would look
If I think of gas giants in no man's sky
I'm thinking fantasy, and it could be anything from just a core with a huge ATM to floating bubbles of matter, that would be more interesting than the typical gas giant and could definitely do with resources
But whatever I don't wanna speculate on gas giants
You get it
Gas Giants would also make the universe feel big as well. Current planets are cool and all, but there is no massive marvel to behold
So it feels...a bit empty?
Thing is, what would be the point of those gas giants if they ever exist
I'm thinking they could kind of be like exotic biomes, like very weird and detached from what's possible in our reality, not just gas emptiness, some sort of floating bubbles of matter, maybe handled in a way that it feels like a gas giant but really isn't, gravity canceling out when you go too deep in the atmosphere, resources only for them and, that would be a huge extra mile
A huge extra mile I don't think they'd do soon
And maybe a secondary point could be to idk add more moons to the system
As I stated, I don't think the extra mile will be done soon
And if they do I'd love to see the fantasy sci Fi take they have on it
Or simply more visual variety
Yeah, they would do that lol
But ik why others wouldn't think Gas Giants
It's a bit effort
It’s most likely to come on wed
It's Yesterday
I just want to go on record to say I really hope they open up cross-save slots to everyone with this update, bc I have a previous save stuck on my ps4 that has the Normandy and I’ll prob never get that back.
Actualy now that i think about it a sentinel planet, something like a dyson sphere empty inside for us to explore would be fun
The ui system needs a complete overhaul. For me it feels kinda messy and unintuitive
1.make a carousel of the collection of starships for viewing and switching starship along with a 360 view.
2.Do the same for companions, multitools and exocrafts.
3.make all the inventory item icons in 3d and clear ones instead or 2d icons with jittery color backgrounds.
4.Add a 3d terrain local map along with the poi landmarks marked similar to starfield. Add a trail of on foot/exocraft travel route to trace back the route.
I'd love faster inventory moving
My wish list
-
ship interiors
-
new ship types (perhaps mining ships)
-
improve ship mechanics ( there should be a reason to fly a cargo ship or fighter, there should be more differences between them)
-
improve multiplayer game play, ( give us dungeons style exploration and PVE with rare loot/reward etc)
-
giant astroids you can land ship on and possibly mine, or build on
-
the ability to own a station or a system and create your own story or history for said system.
-
the ability to terraform a planet
-
better PVE content and more varied. (Possibly the ability to battle pirates on ground in planets?
-
more ship parts and colours to find or use
-
better animal AI
Would be great if they let us own a planet, and we can have citizens, leaders with specific roles, different cities and towns.
I'd love more age body difference variety for existing races. Like seeing children or elders.
Grandma Gek

literally anything could be made into a worthwhile set of game systems. the question "What's so fun about gas giants?" just kinda shows a lack of imagination on the part of the asker.
like, Hello Games in full effort mode (kinda doubt it but a fella can dream) could add flight challenges via wind systems that impact the flight model. finding wind bands to ride to navigate quickly. massive atmospheric storms with hazards. gas giants also have a solid core generally, so there could still be a harsh moon-sized planet to reach.
ok but what if flying creatures inside gas giants were super rare and actually a new form of living frigates?
"Mother where is my father?"
"Child, he became a spacefaring vehicle"
How about a space faring Titan Worm Ship..
@grizzled ridge
No gifs in this channel please
why do you want ship interiors
the ships are so small
you already have something infinitely better; freighter interiors
i agree with the rest of your list but ship interiors isn't it IMO. I get that some people want ships to feel more personal but I feel there are other ways to go about that
as for improved multiplayer gameplay I want a guild system (probably could come with ownable space station update) where you can create a faction/government over a system with a host of different settings/allowances or permissions, player made shops or trading stations etc.
the biggest multiplayer improvement i want over EVERYTHING though, is simply stability and smoothness. Make player bases generate immediately, make player movement and interaction smooth, make more players and bases visible at once.
generally just better loading times, smoothness, stability and increased everything
cuz multiplayer is actually horrendous
Multiplayer is probably as good as it'd gunns get
what updates have had the gib treatment?
im seeing atlas rises, origins and worlds
Thr gib isn't really needed you know a update coming after the triple emoji repost and a sale
hope not
I do think there will be additions and improvements
the gib is associated with big updates
It's been leading up to owning space stations and I speculate space stations will come with player faction mechanics, and thus probably multiplayer improvements
the last time i see it being used was for 3.0 and 5.0
but it feels way to early for 6.0
we have basically had two updates since worlds
we are on 5.29
cross save is the only real update we've had since worlds
only aquarius and the cursed got the proper update treatment
going by version number anyway
aquarius expedition, cursed expedition, cross save, holiday 2024 expeditions
i'm happy that expeditions at least bring some new content mechanics (sometimes) but wow i'm so tired of expeditions man
i want to erase the word expedition from my mind that's how tired of them i am
well either way it feels way too early for 6.0
but the fact that sean has posted the gib gives people the impression that its going to be huge
but im doubtful of 6.0
5.5
we dont even had 5.3 or 5.4
i dont think they have ever skipped versions like that
i mean tbf, version doesn't matter. it's just a signifier of how far the game has come
it can be whatever
so yeah the next update could actually jump to 6.0 if it's significant enough
thats usually how it works with the exception of waypoint where they were at 3.99 and backed in a corner
people question the impact of that update
it added particle effects and a ui revamp mostly
waypoint is the shittiest update to me
completely ruined any sense of progression in the game and made everything not matter at all
i still hate it so much
there was much outrage over the technology slot chnages and difficulty menu
im sure you remember
the only reason it's even a thing is because the community gets mad at any challenge level or even the mere mention of pvp
yet pvp is default lol
only game mode that is a challenge is hardcore because it's the only game mode separated from the others (survival used to be too but they had to ruin that too)
but even in hardcore you can turn off pvp
i mean it shouldnt be. i like that its there for those who want it but having it turned on automatically seems like a really bad idea
not everyone digs through settings
If one half of the playerbase can get no pvp and ability to customize whatever they want then the other half of the playerbase should get a survival game mode with pvp not being optional and have the game mode separated from the others so that progression in this mode actually matters
i dont know if mandatory pvp will go very far
its already so easy to cheat and cheese the game
it would there's a lot of people turned off by nms because they have removed everything that poses a slight challenge
dupes are everywhere, you can just reload after trades to get everything back, save editing is extremely common
at this point its feels like a lost causes to enforce "fair play"
and not everyone wants it
not everyone wants anything
that is why you can have a separate mode
nobody forced to play it
so like a legit players only mode with anti cheat?
literally all they have to do is make survival mode on a separate server like it used to be, and remove the pvp option so that it's not an optional thing. i'd be so happy
yes
arent we also paired with creative players? i might be wrong
anti cheat wouldn't necessarily be that needed since you actually dont encounter players that often
but it would be so awesome to play with friends and progress legit
i can see that
survival, relaxed, normal, creative, custom
all on the same universe
as someone who plays along with friends and all share and compare progress cheating can become an issue
a way to circumvent cheating is by adding incentives to not cheat
it only takes one person
like a cheater label?
that could cause some unwanted hostility, which is something the devs will certainly want to avoid
Well i didnt think of that but why not. I was thinking more of content specifically unobtainable through cheating.
Many games have this thing where if it detects you cheating, achievements are automatically disabled for you
So you can cheat, but there is no point
and whats to stop save editors changing that?
they basically have full save control
as long as you can clamp down on cheating it'll be fine. every game has cheat clients
you are going to end up coming across illegitimate players no matter what. there is no avoiding that
legit just anti cheat that instantly deletes your save from the mode if it detects save editing and cheating
i mean if you went into a no cheating mode and cheated you could only blame yourself
entirely fair
u can cheat in the other modes
i guess you would also need to make constant save backups
but anti cheat is such a hassle and often comes with game problems too
theres a lot of exploits. many of which are considered grey areas with cheating. you cant expect everyone to know where thee line in drawn
but i do agree that its time the devs patch out refiner dupes at the least. many people come crying that theyve just ruined their fun from what ive seen
thats true
it also comes with heavy drm most of the time
that wont go well with the existing gog version
yeah
and yeah it's like i said there will always be cheaters even with anti cheat
but i'd still like the option to play like this
as someone who is very competitive by nature and likes comparing progress with others around me i do to some point agree
but most people here will say that its not a super competitive game and people should play the way they want
personally i think the current major exploits should be patched out. that mostly goes for the refiner dupe. people are too easily tempted only to regret it later on
it completely throws any sense of balance out the window once you do it
and at the end of the day it is a glitch. glitches are meant to be ironed out
yeah and that bothers me because it's always play the way you want till someone mentions pvp
yes
there is a pvp community in no mans sky, though its rather small
as a pvp junkie it has its place for sure
back in the day before all the major changes the pvp community was quite prominent but pvp was janky but it had its charm you know
too many people complain
which to be honest i totally understand
a good middle ground i often see is pvp dedicated areas
though im not sure how thats something no mans sky can do
like walk in zone, get flagged sort of thing
or arenas
almost everyone agrees no mans sky pvp is a severely lacking feature of the game. the damage / health balance can also feel a bit iffy
its definitely not a pvp first kind of game
its more of an afterthought im afraid
after worlds pt 2 hello games should focus on optimizing base stuff so we get higher part limits and can make large builds more feasible
yeah
i imagine theyve already been doing this w/lnf, its probably another thing they can backport
and for the bases to load instantly in multiplayer thank you
in general a "building" update would be neato
improved base building performance, improved entity spawning, planet-side dungeons (abandoned bases but better), bigger settlements, more varieties of generated buildings and more intricacy to them
again i imagine they are already building a lot of this in lnf so it could possibly be another backport
i just say this as an "og player" (kinda) that the initial set of generated buildings has probably been the least updated feature alongside fauna behavior, so it seems like a good target for a refresh
if they redo planetside buildings I really hope they change the models of stuff like outposts, factories, etc. so that they match more closely with the post-Orbital space stations
Varying layouts would be great
Manufacturing Facilities could have subtypes dedicated to manufacturing different components, with storage areas for various types (e.g. a Computing Manufacturing Facility could have loads of Quantum Computers, Microprocessors and similar items stored in it)
Buildings could also be like.. related to the planet's atmosphere
Like it doesn't make sense that the design is the exact same for the toxic, radioactive, hot and cold planets. All of these have different atmospheres and an open door could easily screw up the insides of the building
Gravity is also something i'd love to see experienced with
Heavy mass planet = strong gravity = you probably need some exosuit support upgrades to move well in the planet
Low gravity already exists but perhaps we could have more kinds of low gravity and not necessarily dead planets
As an extension of that larger creatures and plants unique to low g worlds
Also would love to see them raise the max number of pets, ships and multitools, with all the expedition and twitch drop stuff it gets a little cramped
it seems like multi-biome planets are out of the question, but having "sub-biomes" would be neat
like yeah its a big frozen world, but there are several types of "frozen" that change across the planet
this would be a cool lnf port that still fits the classic sci-fi idea of nms
from what ive heard true multi-biome isnt desired since nms was intended to play on the classic sci-fi trope of "1 planet = 1 biome"
What's the guesses from the new emoji tweet
A lot of people think it’s world part 2 or at least something more than an expedition
I wouldn’t mind if we got the trailer a week in advance before the update
do not put that evil into the atmosphere, it's coming tomorrow!
I’m talking about getting the trailers a week in advance rather than Sean posting an emoji. Or he can do both. I think that makes more sense than posting the trailer the same day the update drops.
Imagine the discussions that would go on in here if we got the trailer early
ah gotcha. there have been a couple times where there was a delay between the trailer and the update coming out, and I don't want to revisit those dark times
I mean you felt that way because they mostly come out on the same day. I get you though
I mean it could be cool if he just dropped a few screenshots of new things along with the emojis
They did use to do trailers before updates lmao I forgot about that
I guess people like the new formula then. It’s all good still excited!
WORLD PT2 COMING OUT IN 48H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol
Update drop of PlayStation
RRRRRAAAAAAHHHHHH 🗣🗣🗣
Anyone else wanna see us players be able to control systems, from empires/fedrations not pvp (could have it) freighter battles and building proper planets, some combat/settlement updagte would mae this so much more fun
Yes
In due time, friend
You mean the new terrain generation formula?
When can we expect a trailer 😭
Could be a few hours, usually after each platform has the update
Sounds like every other space game
A background faction war system could be fun. It would increase the depth of the current faction system.
constant freighter battles in high level conflict areas, race specific enemy ships, expand mercenary play style
A faction war system, land & crashed freighters doubling as dungeons, updated cave systems (more hostile fauna, rare gemstones or minerals etc).
Once these 3 things are added, the game will be finally complete in all areas IMO
Also like 5 - 10 more bosses, I think this works better than adding smaller enemies, sentinels have that covered although I'd love procedural sentinels enemies
Maybe like 5 more land bosses and 5 space bosses
new acheivements, they havent been updated since like foundation
World 3 update if it happens need to be big cities with pnj would be cool
It's your lucky day!! Your faith has been rewarded
There’s a quest to unlock them
At this point, the settlement system needs an overhaul or at least some huge improvements. I see that autophages are required to explore the new place but the settlement feels like it costs more than it is worth especially if you dont play often; like its a huge time sink to even get it to start accumulating profit for you, but i suppose it's like that so you can do more urgent quests while waiting.
I want to be able to move and place prefab buildings so it's easier to locate the overseers office and buildings that are under construction
I want all settlement features to be visible in a menu in the office, not just the last 6 I chose
I want there to be more buildings with unique features that also benefit the player, not just the settlement
That with what exsits. Gona be a amazing game (i already is)
who else thinkthey should update the multiplayer
Finally we can sort our inventory, but what about Storage Containers? It's that not important? I hope they can add that soon. I have been waiting a long time for this.
I think there could be more co op activities
if theyre going to tack on subnautica to NMS, they better tack on eve online to NMS /s
Big Cities please!
with markets and vendors and a lot of aliens walking around buying and selling stuff
Unironically an economy background simulation would be awesome
yeah that and real civilized space support would be neat albeit farfetched since nms is so big
Imagine if in abandoned mode you could start settlements and start populating systems
And fill out the galaxy in your own way
Yes but not multiplayer economy
It could be an interesting separate mode
Probably almost impossible to do though
I could see it working if they section off a bubble of the galaxy like in elite dangerous
Multiplayer economy cannot work with all the people save édit/ duplication etc
Separate launcher with anticheat
Separate game listing in steam
Promote it as a different MMO style version of no man's sky
Could also be an interesting way to test the shared world stuff that's supposed to be in light no fire
Y'all I am SO excited for this new update, but there is one thing I still want.
I am so excited for the new multitool and ship storage
but please PLEASE ADD ONE FOR PETS
I really wish we could just step into the ship instead of teleporting into it, and walk inside of it while it is auto pilot through space...
GUESS WHO’S BACK WITH DAY 3️⃣ 9️⃣ OF ASKING HG TO MAKE COMBAT SCOPE ADS
I’m sorry for my absence, I’m sure my obnoxious wishes were sorely missed 😌
Hear me out 😂
Im pretty happy with how the game is now, but I hope they release an update that fixed terrain issues on bases
Like, if i build a base where ive cleared out some flora, or changed the terrain slightly, it should stick when I upload it
I can't lie originally I wanted boats
But I think that would kind of disrupt the feeling of the game
A skiff is good enough .
What is the point of the boat when you have a fast submarine?
Genuine question, maybe fishing?
But yeah the skiff and the submarine do kinda replace the need for a boat I'd guess
Just let use take friend inside vehicle please
I'd really like them to overhaul colony management so it's truly useful, allowing you to choose the colony's design and complete layout, add new features like defense turrets, a shield around it depending on the climate, and the possibility to select which type of resources to gather or farm based on what's available on the planet.
And when will we have a living cargo ship and buildable, customizable space stations in orbit around planets?
I really hate how you can only view the galaxy map when in a starship.
I'd love a view similar to the galactic atlas to be put into the game.
That would help the sense of immersion, help with quest UI.
Would also be easier to designate areas to different races, pirates and subfactions if they ever implemented clans.
They could also designate different corners of the galaxy to vary in difficulty or rare materials
The galactic hub could really flourish if people know where they're going in game
I was just watching a YouTube video and the quality dipped and made the graphics in game look somewhat cell shaded. I think adding cell shading to the characters would be sweet. Even if it’s an option you can toggle on and off
This is a NEED update
What I’m saying
Provide protection to the worlds against the sentinel threat
With the new gas giants being added to the game, I was thinking about something these planets usually have... Auroras. A lot of terrestrial worlds (like our own) have auroras as well. I hope they add those in a future update, and maybe rings to gas giants too
