You should be fine for a while. 1 hypercore fills your entire hyperdrive back to full. Put some S class warpdrive modules on a ship and you'll last for prolly weeks. I only use like 3% fuel per jump.. and I jump close to 1900ly lol

Ok well, it's not an official mechanic first of all.
And ships that aren't exotics or living ships will get their class/stats re-rolled when they change hands.

So if you were to say trade for a golden vector, while it would be an S class for the original owner, it might be a C when you take it.

To unlock Living Ships, the player needs to complete the Starbirth quest once per save.
In order to complete the quest, the player must have the first 12 portal glyphs unlocked.

To start the Starbirth quest, obtain and store a Void egg (3200 QS at the Quicksilver Companion shop) in your suit inventory and then pulse in space until hailed by the Alien fallen host.

To get more Living Ships, the player will need a Void egg and 10k nanites per ship.

Travelers are the NPCs in stations that have kind of a glowy/see through look.
You can also find them by doing hazardous flora missions at the nexus.
Just drop a base computer at the mission then come back after it's complete.
Just please delete the base afterwards if you go that route.

@ripe ginkgo there are also some planets with enough graves to get all the glyphs, you can probably find one here or with a google search.
I don't have one off hand.
But you'd need to hitch a ride to that location since you don't have the glyphs obviously

Once you obtain all the glyphs you need to find a portal on a planet. Almost every system has one.

And to activate a portal, simply recharge it with items like sodium, carbon, and cobalt.
