When you attempt to trade a ship the other player will not see the same ship you tried to trade unless it is a unique ship like the golden vector or starborn runner.

Note that regardless the inventory and class will reroll.

It’s not a may it’s a definite, during that initial exchange the seed of that ship you traded will change, only way to manipulate this is by trading it in the same system or a system with the same model.
