So once I found a planet hot enough.. I got it to lay the egg, that's immediate. You pick it up, goes into inventory and the timer starts.

So now I wait 24 hours.

I think that's due to the difference in versions. Steam has a higher version than Microsoft. But it can also be due to something else, otherwise ask in #nms-questions

Ok be careful about multiplayer for now, it can mess up your save
I can have you join my game but you won't be able to warp back.
I can join you and give you fuel or something instead, that would be safer.
