How do i scan for a portal

Probably easiest way is to have an exocraft and install signal booster tau in it, and search for an alien monolith. Solve the monolith riddle, and you can interact again and ask for a portal location. You can also try buying a planetary chart from the map dealer on a space station. If you're still stuck, you might have better luck asking in #nms-questions

Returning player, been a while since I've played last, never really done a group thing... pretty set up, S class ship, A class freighter, base on paradise planet. I had all S class character mods, but it seems like they did a overhaul on those, since half were removed, same for my ship. like I said just looking for someone to play with if anyone is interested

Wasn't so much a tech overhaul, but an inventory overhaul. They greatly simplified (and expanded) the inventories, so on your Exosuit you just have an inventory for tech & upgrades, and an inventory for everything else. Where before, you could have some upgrades in your tech and some in your regular inventory, now they can only be installed in tech. What helps to offset some of the "lost" tech upgrades is that some of your tech slots are supercharged, and give a bonus to whatever is installed. Adds a new dimension and strategy to laying out your tech inventories.

#2: Follow the story, seriously. It will teach you a lot about the game and what you need to do. There are points where you can break off and do your own thing, but you should be following the story pretty exactly at least until you reach the Anomaly, if not farther
