Corvettes are starships that are completely custom made using a system very similar to the base building system. You get modules from either buying the basic ones from the terminal, or salvaging the full selection of modules from Salvage Containers on worlds that list Salvageable Scrap as a resource and trading those salvaged ones for each other

Look for lush planets, they will have star bulb and paraffinium listed as resources
Check the nexus mission board in nexus for any that may award it (they can be solo'ed), failing that, go to any non-dissonant planet, beat up sentinels on the surface until you reach level 5, which a giant walker will spawn in,destroy it, the remains should be interactable, that's where the brain is

@drifting tapir 35m is a start you can easily grind out a bunch of parts by excavating the yellow salvage nodes on planets. And if you dont get any parts you need you can trade them in for specific parts you do

What inventory does my stuff need to be in for my stellar extractors to automatically empty when jumping?
I’ve tried my storage boxes and I’ve tried the freighter inventory
They don't automatically empty anywhere I believe, you must collect their contents manually
It's not a mechanic described in-game anywhere
and I have always seen the exact contrary (it deleting it's contents upon warp)

never let refiners have stuff in them during any sort of loading and expect them to still have stuff in them

The cooldown is at least 3 cumulative hours of unpaused gameplay and at least 5 warps, both since your last battle. Once both are met, your next starship warp to an inhabited system will trigger a battle

The "since last battle" part may simply be the expedition start in this case

im trying to start my game for the first time today & where i was when i got off last night is causing it to crash on the load up
That is very strange. Do you have access to multiplayer? If so, you could temporarily get around that by joining somebody else from the main menu
this possibly wouldn't fix the issue forever though, as your saved MP position is separated from your singleplayer position
ive troubleshooted every possible thing. my last resort is by joining a friends session

YES, YOU CAN!, all you have to do is set building perm to friends only in, network settings
This does not enable co-ownership of bases. All options still are set to "No one" when the owner is not in the same star system as the base
meaning no ability to modify the base, no access to the refiners etc when the owner is away

The Expedition tab should go away later (possibly the next time you load), and the main story should begin after that
if you began this within an existing save, it may tell you to end it at the expedition terminus aboard the space anomaly
but if you began it from the New Save screen, it will convert into a regular save

There is always a space station in the starter system, which is always a yellow star system. Space Station waypoints are hidden until a certain step of the tutorial mission "Awakenings" is reached
The step following the base building tutorial reveals them, as it directs you to the current system's space station

I'm going to start recruiting frigates. What's the most efficient way of farming units with frigate missions and frigate types? I've heard that some people have exclusively support frigates in their fleets for this very reason, but there's surprisingly little content on moneymaking with frigate missions
Because the player have little to no control over it's rewards, the best a player can do with frigate missions is do the 5 they are given that day and hope for the best
Also having all support frigate is less about money making and more about saving fuel, since once you have all of the frigate boosting techs installed on your freighter, it's mostly trivial to cap out the 4 stats using just support frigates so there is little reason to use anything but supports when you get to that stage
Given what I know from the several months of frigate missions, the units you earn across all 5 frigate missions, per day, is, at best, comparable to scrapping one interceptor's worth
Interesting. I was told that end-game frigate missions could eventually replace the income from stasis device farms
yeah, bugged/not implemented, has been an issue since back they basically added these and other low fliers (beetles etc)
nah, that statement would be pushing it a lot; ime, 2-3M per expedition, that's easily expectable

Also, stasis farms' limit is only the base parts limit, and my 80 daily stasis farms' take under 8000 parts, so I could easily double that to 160 a day, which is well over 2b a day, frigate Expeditions are hard gated behind time, you get 5 every 24 hours, nothing can extend it
Setting up a single stasis farm alone seems daunting enough
if you're considering it, take it slow, start small, e.g. craft 1-5 a day, scale up when/if you need to
i like spreading that operation through multiple bases, so that i dont have hundreds of plants on the same base, possibly tanking my perf at times

You can buy dihydrogen jelly in bulk and refine it into pure dihydrogen afaik
There's also the refiner loop glitch where you refine 30 dihydrogen into 1 jelly, and then refine the jelly into 40 dihydrogen, and so on and so forth. But that counts as an exploit, I guess

There's no downsides to setting the options to whatever you choose (besides being on survival mode previously and trying to lower anything, which disqualifies an achievement)
(Permadeath unlocks this achievement regardless of options chosen, as well as unlocking it's own achievement)

I tried this yesterday (biodome placed in hole, ground restored), and free-planting inside a biodome didn't ignore the biome requirement - has this changed, or was I just doing something wrong? 🤔
to free place ignoring biome req, you must glitch build/mod - but if you're going to glitch build them anywhere inside the dome, you dont really need to bury it unless for aesthetics

nah, the thing with the terrain is to allow growing plant of that biome without having to glitch build at all, is still under the same rule as growing outdoors, but benefits from 1 button harvest all

well, depends on what you think might be fast. there's several ways to find sentinel crashed ship sites, but probably the easiest one is to use a carrier ai fragment consumable item, which for example drops from destroying a sentinel space police freighter that spawns at wanted level 5. type !faq-interceptor in #nms-commands for more infos, follow sublinks if needed; anything else just ask
I know we can’t “snap” the ruin pieces, and yes like the image above. But is there any way to move the chaotic parts with more precision, or is it just patience and stubborn willpower?

i think you'd have to resort to free placement and/or glitch building, to be able to do more precise placements and have a lot more freedom
check !faq-glitchbuilding in #nms-commands , there's timestamps, but i'd just suggest getting yourself a nice beverage, and watching the whole thing

eat some unprocessed meat or interact with dropped combat supply barrels (in the current screenshot, it will first try to restore shields since they're not maxed, then health)
strongly recommend unlocking and installing 1) paralysis mortar (aoe stun grenade, crowd control) 2) voltaic amplifier (+21% damage dealt by any weapon to stunned entities)

yep, up to 12, if you didnt have any other active ships (in the quick menu). can archive non-corvette ships once we own a freighter, in the freighter bridge/fleet management terminal

Yeah just good old normal mode. Seems to have been a bug though because they did deactivate once I defeated all the waves and I could access the terminal although the count was 6/56 on the mission… panel… thing.
I knew everything else, but I hadn’t realised picking up the barrels was what made my shield go back up so thanks a lot for that (from me and David - my poor Minotaur which they completely and utterly destroyed)

good to know that it was just a visual bug with the counter, i definitely didnt remember there being a huge counter like that. and yeah, being strategical about when you actually loot the barrels can be advantageous in a few ways. they can even recharge hazard protection (core, not extra hazard shields). for minotaur repairs, remember that you can also use repair kits for any damaged subcomponent

we can kinda do that already, at least with non corrupted sentinels. escalating to wanted level 2 or 3, then always leaving a summoner alive and killing the units it spawns, we can pretty much farm them till exhaustion

either keep progressing through the main story, secondary quests and the base crew quests to unlock almost all of the geobays for free, or unlock them with salvaged data from anomaly constrution research station. see <#nms-commands message> to learn how you can use your on foot quick menu to summon them, but in the basics, build a geobay on a planet to spawn the exo, delete geobay to get full build mats back, and be able to redeploy on a diff planet

All of them can really be made to do everything with the right tech/upgrades (as that matters a lot more), but each type has bonuses towards the 3 stats

for the Phase Beam, a bug/oversight makes it so the extra ones firing do their own damage

the beam-up teleporter won't stay there when the corvette has been moved away/landed
but this won't change where the corvette is automatically placed upon teleporting to the base, it'll always be placed hovering over it with the teleporter below it
is there some way to gauge if the stats i have rolled in a module are good/mid/bad
Compare them to the stats of that upgrade in the catalogue
The max stats for any upgrade module can be seen in the catalog
like this mining beam upgrade gave me +41% heat dispersion +21% fuel efficiency + 16% mining sped -18% downtime

depends what you're playing on. as long as it's not an OG switch you can encounter other players. continue through the quests and you'll be able to travel to a space where a bunch of players are. you can also add friends and travel as a group. you can also meet players randomly on planets but it's very rare because of how large the game is
The only time you're likely to see other players is in the Anomaly unless you're looking at #1418605454300549120 or specifically joining groups (the universe is big), but playing the story in a group is not recommended.
Also as a reminder, not all console players will have access to multiplayer. It requires the subscription plan from that console (S2, PS, Xbox)

You can't go to any purple system, in any way, until you unlock them via the method above. Even bringing the Atlantid drive back from an expedition will not give you access to them

How much corvette parts should I get before I start to build my dream corvette with no limits
Sentinel MT with Boltcaster and Blaze Javelin. Jav for the stun effect, Boltcaster for DPS.
Starship I fly a Sentinel Interceptor, which has the special gun (that is basically a renamed Photon Cannon). I also have an Infra-knife. But I use the Sentinel Cannon 90% of the time since I like the way it targets better.
Corvette, Phase Beams x6 for the insane DPS.
There are restrictions on getting them. For example, if you went to the system with multiplayer on, it will not allow you to get them
Part count tops at 100, but you will need to trade for some parts. 200-300 is a good number, especially if you get some that you want in that number.
Or you can just turn crafting on for free and build whatever you want. I farmed for my first corvette, but I enjoy designing them so I just use free crafting now.
I like grinding for my stuff, if I turn crafting on regardless of what I make it wont feel cool ;-;

mostly that sentinels have a higher chance to spawn out roaming, in the wild, near you

every planet has sentinels, just that some only have them guarding buildings, others allow them to spawn out in the wild not guarding buildings

many planets have a building type called sentinel pillar - this building can be used and reused to shutdown sentinels on a planet. shutdown state persists until next reload/restart or leaving the system, but yeah, building can be marked and reused again
an easy way to locate such buildings is using a sentinel boundary chart
but on non corrupted sentinel planets, also defeating wanted level 5

- Salvaged Glass (possible drop from non-corrupted ground sentinels)

i have an anomalous spider bug, how long is that gonna take to reach adult hood?

personally i've not had any pet take longer than that, but i've seen someone recently with a pet that supposedly had 3 weeks on it, and was still an infant - either that's a recent and silent change, i'd consider it a bug tbh, or at least something to be changed back again. also, pat and feed every day seemed to make the process go a little faster
ive had some sources(one being AI) say that anomalous creatures are really screwy with aging
Remember you can exchange the parts for the ones you want too
oh, hmm, that one of the other player i was thinking about was a proto-gek actually
to further reinforce this, i also a adopted a young anomalous sphere creature like a week prior maybe(meaning possibly 3 weeks) and its still considered young

You should definitely use items you like the look of or want to use on your corvette. You can safely trade any you don't want to use. Corvette construction is totally up to you

More parts = heavier = less maneuverable. Pulse engine upgrades can compensate

If you want, but the're granting you additional health
If you need more tech slots, add more. You can have 60 in your suit
i also suggest making sure you have 3 of every reactor if you wanna maximise upgrades in that regard(unless theres a better way to optimize corvette stat upgrades that i dont know of)
A legitimate argument can be made for a fleet full of just support frigates. 0 fuel cost is always a benefit
btw is there an easier way to aim the infraknife? manual still feels impossible and auto-targetting is somewhat useless

You will not get a corvette in A class to start. They all start as C class. You upgrade class from there
youre gonna be stuck with c until you upgrade it at a starshup terminal
