At least for me, the most used recipes (questionably sweet cake and nectar islands) can be gotten fairly easily, the sugar and flour can be both grown, and the animals products are easy if you afk with an active livestock machine and feeder and leave it overnight
Weirdly it's the lower recipes that require stranger things like larva eggs that are definitely not worth the time

Each give you a different tech blueprint that's pretty much identical outside of their usage in Atlas Eternal, the endless mission after it
Star Seed gives +1 core health, not exactly sure if Mark of the Denier also does since I think it doesn't share adjacency with Remembrance which gives +1 core health (whereas star seed does) but that's extremely unimportant since you can still easily reach the max of 9 core health with sentinel/autophage upgrades

the time investment is - in most cases - proportional to the benefit, and you can definitely optimize
players aren't supposed to be able to grow everything, it would make exploring planets for those resources obsolete (which goes against the game's design)
I don't know who "we" is, I don't have any issues whatsoever with how cooking currently works (aside from cookers needing to be babysat, which is an issue with refiners, not cooking, and can be bypassed by using a corvette)

- squadron pilots: in short, i dont think they're a good investment early on/atm. they arent going to be a huge help, you'll do far better in battle and deal more damage than they ever will - they sometimes even get in front of your shots. that said, ship they have doesnt matter, not even a little (squadron ship stats arent saved).
- frigates spawn in npc fleets that spawn around star systems, basically tied to our position, always spawn close to us. once the game spawns them, to get it to spawn more we basically just move away from there far enough so the game despawns the previous, and spawns more near our new location, rinse and repeat. focus on low conflict+high eco tier systems. i would recommend typing

so, infra knife is going to be your main weapon, is that it? buffing damage: hop through diff system stations, and obtain 3 s-class infra knife upgrade modules from the ship upgrade module shop. remember that save+reload restocks upgrade module shops, so you can buy 3 from the same location if you save+reload after buying one. install them all, in a square, around infra knife core tech, move q-resonator to a slot that is adjacent with core tech. (the yellow squares)
wanting to install those 3 s-class modules you got, but with that tech slot pressure, you're going to need to add more tech slots, fill up those gaps, to make this a ship capable of holding upgrade module stacking, that's where power comes from.
you could obtain 3 s-class pulse engine, 3 s-class hyperdrive and so on, to make it an actually good ship, with good stats. (check out the last two example images, what you can do if you just add a few mre tech slots)
side note: is that x-class hyperdrive module good? has both range and +100% efficiency? if yes, i'd certainly supercharge that instead of cadmium drive
@arctic ridge oh also, you could store or dismantle photon cannon tech, if you're not going to use it as main. i'd recommend getting phase beam instead (shield leeching when you shoot enemy ship shields with it)
The X-class hyperdrive has warp cell efficiency + range; I supercharged it just now.
I do indeed intend to use the Infra-Knife as my main weapon unless there's anything better. Removed the Photon Cannon and installed the Phase Beam; beats using Starshield Batteries and Sodium (which is borderline non-existant in trade terminals).
The part about more slots is duly noted. Guess I'll have to increase my standing with the guilds to get more of those
there's lots of drop sources for storage augs: i like to keep raising my standing both with the npc races and the explorer and merchant guilds (the only ones that can have redeemable storage augs) - the former is primarily for discounts on upgrade module shops (up to 50% off at max standing) but i think that/ime also to increase the probability of these rewards popping as mission rewards, often on really easy missions. another way to get some is through ship scrapping: you could find crashed ships to scrap for storage augs, or just make millions first and then buy ships from npcs to scrap (just note that if you scrap a specific ship in a specific class and it drops none, there's no point scrapping that ship again in the same class at least)

Has anyone tested to see which freighter type is the least obstructive to landing? Just curious. I know the Pirate Dreadnought is one of the worst because the landing pad is more at the front, but there's also the ones with huge antennae and protruding ship parts

Not exactly, this was changed in Echoes (2023) to be your third battle and onwards be a capital one

Yes, a cooldown of at least 3 cumulative hours of unpaused gameplay and at least 5 warps, both since your last battle. Once both are met, your next starship warp to an inhabited system (that isn't a black hole or atlas station system) will trigger a battle

They have the Vesper Sails technology, which gives them vastly improved pulse engine fuel efficiency as well as built-in launch auto-charging
Not really, all freighters kinda shoot beams at nearby pirates but they barely do any damage, basically just for show even if they attack the pirates

No, you can repair it later. When you get a freighter, it will be there; otherwise you can summon it at any time

Can't summon a ship?
If you don't have a freighter or have more than 6 active ships, go to a base on a planet, and save+reload restore point. A quick way to update restore point is to enter+exit ship/seat.
You should now be able to quick menu/summon any of your ships, regardless of its condition.
This is a failsafe added by the devs to ensure players never lose ships in their collection.

All of your unuploaded bases are still visible to players that are directly in a multiplayer instance with you while you're both in the same system as the base(s), but unuploaded bases load magnitudes slower
I would also like to add that sometimes you may even have to load a base in the Portal two or three times, because on the first attempt it indicates that it cannot be loaded.

That's because the owner of the base left the Anomaly, or you have a cached base list from an Anomaly visit and the base is not in your current system

you throw regular scrap into the main furnace, you throw special waste into the marked ones that match the symbol on the container

but try that too.... use the Exocraft terrain manipulator, set it to flatten and point it down in front of you. can at least smooth out -some- of the terrain on your trip

Yes. Assuming you're in the mission Ghosts in the machine, they will now happen every 3 hours played + 5 warps in your ship
The first one you rescue and accept is free, if you go through 2 battles from the 3rd on will be the larger capital freighter models

probably. look at your logs and check out the symbol for the mission, then go to your map and follow the line and see if the planet it ends on is marked with the same symbol

then it wasnt a rescue battle event, but just a random space encounter (they happen, can happen, when we're pulsing around systems). here's another image, well 2 in 1 actually. here you can see the kind of activity going on in freighter rescue battle events
dont worry. if you keep playing the game, progressing the quests, use your ship to warp around etc, and dont have options/difficulty/space combat set to none, you'll eventually come across these events naturally.

hmm, and when you goto the settlement, sometimes there will be no marker, but there's still a building requiring your attention, e.g. finish an upgrade or provide materials for an upgrade stage. to find it, yeah, we often just got to do it manually.

not teleporter, portal. what you dont have is the glyphs unlocked; to find a portal is easy. as long as the ride isn't to a purple star system, yeah, you could get taxied by someone to that system. try asking around #nms-lfg-or-trades or use star cabs (type !starcablink in #bot-spam for a server invite)

There are no guaranteed S class freighter spawns, it's all down to chance
freighter class also has minimal impact on gameplay so it's only a bad thing if you can't help yourself but minmax

I loaded a echo locator for the 3rd time in a system and it took me to a previous canp. The cabinet was unlocked and empty and I could locate the dissonant spikes immediately

i'd say that it has a pretty decent supercharged slot layout (those two sc in a very suitable position for a weapon cluster for example), i'd try to see if swapping pools gave a different tool that was more to your liking
rifles good side is a bonus to.....slots.
a staff has a bonus mostly to damage.
i use an atlantean rifle for mining, and a staff for combat and aura farming

@slender salmon dont hold back building and claiming a base computer in order to progress early game quests - it doesn't need to be pretty. after you unlock teleporter usage in general, game-wide, you can teleport to any claimed base computer, from any teleporter in the universe

Every S class ship can have 100-120 cargo slots, depending on type, you just have to get the items or units to be able to add them
@slender salmon innate bonuses arent everything but you can kinda tell what each ship type specializes for - or if it's an all rounder. after upgrade modules and techs and supercharged slots, any ship can be great in the game, just a matter of liking it enough to invest into it and make it shine

i just got 8 million units from selling a random cargo ship i found whats the smartest way of spending the units?
early on, i always have units on me so i can buy mats/products from trade terminals and pilots so i have to mine less on planets. 8m is more than enough for that. but 8m is also plenty to add a few tech slots to my suit, ship and MT: more space for upgrade module stacking, i'll have an easier time cruising through the quests etc, e.g. not have to craft so much warp fuel or obtain o2 so often, etc
going from left to right makes a big difference
to get nanites early on, to buy modules and unlock things, i normally just rely on zoology:

yeah, i'd add that to collection, not exchange. we can have up to 6 active tools in the quick menu (+18 archived through weapons rack base part), and we can change between them using quick menu/utilities/change mt. if on keyboard, we can even hotkey changing between owned tools (some players like to have 1 for scanning, another for mining, another for damage)

the purple slots there - those are called supercharged slots, and they buff what you put in them by 1.25x (well, most things). for example, try putting boltcaster tech on one - and while it's not a fully accurate value, check damage potential before and after you do

well, there's really no right or wrong here
game is a sandbox at heart - if you say you want to, we can start guiding you to it. sure, corvettes are nice, they're the only ship type we actually build from the groundup like a base, but it can take some play time to get to the point where you're satisfied with it.
that said, we can modify a corvette after we've built it still so

personally, i dont think so, not for a "daily driver". imo, there's little reason to have a freighter with a lot more than 3-4K LY range, other than to have a maxed out freighter. but to get to the absolute max range, a dedicated supercharged slot layout is also required

how to get nanites fast
depends a bit on how many do you need, and what is or will be your gameplay preferences - if you need large amounts fast then there's really only a few strategies for that. if you just need nanites to say buy modules and unlock techs from the anomaly, then there's quite a few strategies you could use too.

@lusty pivot ^ i'd suggest taking a look at various methods/outlaw station vendors strategy. with a few outlaw stations in your teleporter, you can loop around them, buying up all the tech/arms packets - contraband agent inventory refreshes over time

these are really easy to get, so dont worry, you can always get more, there'll be lots of planets out there with salvageable scrap on the resource list (but you can always drop and claim a base computer, rename it to "nice salvageable scrap planet" for example, and whenever you need to farm some, can just teleport back). side note that we dont need a teleporter at a base in order to teleport to it, only to teleport out, from it

Hey, I was playing nomansky just fine 15hours ago at 60 fps. Now I'm launching the game and it's at 4 fps with my GPU immediately jumping at 99% usage the second I'm on a save. What could be the reason?

Alt tabbing, changes to anti aliasing or graphics card outside of the game, something else running in the background like OBS, Overwolf, Medal, etc

I did the previous times but on this instance I haven't
try quitting the game, delete game install folder\binaries\settings\tkgraphicssettings.mxml, launch game again: this will force game to re-autodetect your hardware, recreate the file. sometimes it fixes weird issues. try to retest without making any further changes
Enabling FrameGen can also cause issues
But again I was playing fine yesterday evening and alt tabs a bunch, the game was running perfectly fine it's really odd

You need to collect it with the trucks and factories or something honestly I haven't looked into it yet
if you've not unlocked the anomaly yet, you probably cant get a hold of the needed multitool tech to interact with the remnant update content (industrial waste collecting)
Whatās the difference between a sentinel and a regular ship
theres been talks in quests ive seen of a anomoly but im not sure
sentinel: largest hyperdrive range and highest warp efficiency without any additional upgrades from any of the ship types, decently maneuverable but not as agile as a fighter or a solar sail for example, can hover inside atmosphere of planets, can use regular ship techs and upgrades to buff its sentinel flavored techs e.g. photon cannon modules buff sentinel cannon, hyperdrive modules buff crimson core, etc. can use a single resource (radiant shard) to recharge all systems. can only be found crashed, but never comes damaged
Where is the best to find one
there'll be a mission popping in the log when you do - it shows up first time in alone amidst the stars mission, mission that comes after awakenings. after you complete the "first visit to anomaly" mission, you can summon it at any time in space, using ship quick menu

sentinel crashed ship sites can only be found in inhabited dissonant systems, but not all inhabited dissonant systems do. type !faq-interceptor in #nms-commands for more infos and details, but i'd suggest going the harmonic camp route at least once per save (can also get sentinel multitool type from there)
yes, it will - they're quite uniquely different from other ship types. when you aim visor at one, its type will read "salvaged" though, not sentinel, but same thing

sorry, to clarify - uninhabited would be no race icon on galaxy map (95% of the red star systems dont have a race icon, yeah) and we also call those uncharted systems. inhabited would be any gek/korvax/vykeen system.

Star systems can be inhabited, abandoned or uncharted. We can easily tell the difference between inhabited and uncharted, but abandoned systems are a little easier to miss. Take a look at the embedded image.

so only the top left system out of those 4 would possibly be suitable for us to look for sentinel ships..
but we'd still need to warp there and see if there's a dissonant planet that doesnt have gold or rusted metal on the resource list

sometimes they're buried around the site lol, sometimes just save+reload pops them out of wherever they're hiding. that said, this doesnt look like it's part of your quests, so you can just ignore it: you're not going to get to keep the ship
how can i get to the calypso galaxy from the euclid galaxy
for the industrial waste collecting? you'll need to have the gravitino coil multitool tech installed, unlock from anomaly mt research npc (in the backroom, cross the hall coming from nada and polo's balcony). that said, this isn't really a mechanic that's going to be really rewarding, but feel free to have fun with it for a while

in short, processing waste gives small amounts of nanites, but progresses your character towards "milestones" that will unlock player titles (customization options) and colossus exocraft customization parts
always feel free to ask as much as needed. see <#nms-commands message>. if you want a more gradual build up, dont spam shoot the station, just hit it once to start on wanted level 1

Worth noting that you could easily go a lot higher to a lush galaxy -- Eissentam (#10) -- Call the Anomaly and find the teleporter, and look at the featured bases. One of them is likely in Eissentam.

Red/Harsh (More extreme survival and extreme sentinel planets)
Blue/Empty (More dead and weird biome planets)
Green/Lush (more lush biome planets)
So lush is a good look for paradise type planets/moons?
exocraft geobays are unlocked with salvaged data from anomaly construction research station terminal. build a geobay, it pops the exocraft on the planet, then delete the geobay to get all the build mats back. when you need to summon it to a diff planet, you can repeat the same process. that said, this is the basics of it. you can handle the summoning part without having to keep rebuilding geobay on every new planet you need the exocraft on. the summoning part can be handled in a few diff ways, some of those not immediately available, even with anomaly unlocked. check out this post <#nms-commands message>

at the fabricator? in the back of stations? in short, got to salvage ships of that type that have the parts you want to use to build the ship, you get the reactor from ship upgrade module shops (that's the main and often the fastest way), 1 part per ship, 3 ships to build one. can color customize after you put all parts in + reactor. check out this post <#nms-commands message> for more infos

possibly someone dropped them on you in the anomaly. their only use is to sell for units
the sell price is like 15 million
which is more than everything i've worked for combined in my 15 hours
A player aboard the Space Anomaly gave you them, they are one of the most expensive items in the game

yeah, you've mentioned it already - not sure why it's taking so long, or if it's a bug, afaik at best there's small variations sometimes from species to species, but like i already said, i never had a pet that took more than 2weeks to become an adult.

Though a system like that would take many many many hours to navigate, so portals would still be better by about 200x

You get them from opening Salvaged Glass, which is acquired from the canisters that sentinel drones drop and sometimes from destroying Sentinel Interceptors in combat

There isn't a "canLandOnPlanets" tag in the save file or anything, this issue is most likely tied to either living ships in general, the planet you're trying to land on or some settings you have set

Nintendo Switch 2 player here (Version 6.36.0).
I noticed that since entering the Space Anomaly, the game keeps crashing whenever I stay in the back rooms, especially near the upgrade vendors.
Multiplayer is disabled, but other players still appear in the Anomaly.
Already checked for corrupted data ā no issues found.
Players should never appear in the space anomaly when multiplayer is disabled
if you're certain that Options > Network > Multiplayer > Disabled, please report this to HG

This isn't an option on Switch 1, as the Switch 1 version of NMS does not feature multiplayer.
Is this currently a known issue with multiplayer/network features on Switch 2, and are there more performance or stability fixes planned for future updates?

That depends fully on personal preference. If you wish for in-atmosphere speed, Sentinel Interceptors are the best for that. If you want damage, Fighters are the best for that. If you want maneuverability or just generally balanced stats, Exotic ships are best for that. In general, upgrade modules installed matter a lot more than the ship type so you can really make anything do what you need it to. Corvettes were introduced recently, which can be focused on most aspects of ships due to their corvette tech pairing extremely well with standard upgrades, but their cramped tech inventories make utilizing this difficult until you can upgrade their class and slot count
No, that is boost. Pulse is by holding both roll buttons, or space bar on PC
