yeah, that should reduce the carbon stack seen by the harvester. that said:
- i'd suggest moving on to gas extractors+supply depots: dont have to fuel them manually, but it does require a base and power. each supply depot can hold 1k material, each extractor 250. piped all together, creates a big storage network. type

I just unlocked those modules and mean to work on it, just need gas for enriched carbon at the moment.
It was the carbon in the exocraft the harvesters were seeing. That is super strange. My suit didn’t even see that.

What does technology overloaded mean
went over the limit of 3 upgrade modules of the same type at the same time (regardless of class)
whatever didnt overload, are technologies, and those cant overload

When I warp to my underwater base it automatically changes my active one so that’s why it’s hard to say
probably is. yeah, i've seen this happen with some other things in the game, like it registering a void egg inside an active exocraft that wasnt even in the same system

be in a lush type galaxy (e.g. eissentam; there's a featured base in the anomaly teleporter in that galaxy, "last egg" base), focus on yellow star systems, use catalog&guide to locate lush biome planets (not necessarily going to be a paradise labeled body, but could be storm free, or have infrequent storms)

personally, i carry the mats to build a "portable farm". i just use biofuel reactor for those. a biofuel reactor, a livestock unit and a feeder, on a beach.. fishing.. it's like break time.

it depends on difficulty settings. check options/difficulty/death consequences: cursor over the options

tbh, the hardest part of the game is that initial scenario: nothing on us, in a hellscape sometimes, getting out of that hole is the hardest. after that's done, we can start making use of trade terminals and npc pilots to buy mats, etc etc. making it a whole lot easier from then on
also, small question, sorry for asking so many, but is it more viable to use uranium or starship launch fuel?

i guess it could depend on your stack sizes and fuel cost difficulty settings. if you're playing with <9999 stack sizes, you might prefer to do launch fuel. but with higher fuel costs, iirc 1 launch thruster fuel doesnt fill it up to 100%. the thing with uranium is that we can find planets with it on the resource list, and find uranium deposits/hotspots, giving us the possibility to even automate uranium extraction using mineral extractors and supply depots.

ship scrapping value depends on size of usable cargo inventory - sentinel ships have large inventories and arent ever damaged

"low orbit" is just the term we use for "high altitude" bases

if you save+reload, are all your base parts still visible, interactable with? are you still inside atmos, or is your life support perhaps draining like crazy
Well yeah, i just left and re entered, everything appears normal
with some nanite farming strategies, it's often faster to upgrade a lower class ship to s-class than it is to find a natural s-class. not gonna be any weaker because of it either
so you're good still. as you climb and build parts further and further up, regularly save+reload, every few pieces, to see if you're still good. sometimes full game restart too, or warp out and back in.

I spawned the Colossus on top of the tower im building, it is now stuck in the air, i guess its a low orbit colossus

try sus packets tech/arms or salvaged glass farming, then unpack them and sell the upgrade modules you dont want for nanites.

How big is the radius of the Base Computer?
By default around 300u, but using base expansion tricks you can build out to 1,000

The base center should have a marker of its own. And from what I recall, the radius is circular.
Or, rather, spherical.

Note: The base radius is from its initial activation position, so if you move the base computer, the base radius doesn't move with it.
Do note that there is an altitude limit. It won't be obvious at first, but if you leave and return, any base parts above that limit may end up missing.

IME using a different portal makes the game forget the charging of your previous one sometimes

No, you just have to pulse and it will instantly mark a living ship crash site
just that the living ship will cost 10,000 nanites instead of being free to claim
if you don't like the living ship it marks, you can refuse and it will return the void egg to your inventory, allowing you to retry your search

exotic ships are a 1 in 301 chance to spawn every time a ship spawns piloted by an npc, and each system only has one exotic ship design, so if you haven't seen one then keep waiting

randomly generated things specific to each star with zero meaning
The only think that matters is the stellar class capital letter (G, F, etc.) because that tells you the in-game star color. Everything else is unsubstantiated conjecture somewhat based on the classification of stars in real life astronomy. But No Man's Sky stars aren't like real life stars. As Grouch said, it's randomly generated text in the game.

the main things are to check if you still have any extra Void Eggs, especially the weird prefix versions of it, and check if you have a Dream Aerial somewhere, both in any of your inventories

There is also no "build", there aren't enough techs in the game to require the user to "choose" on the macroscopic scale, you can fit basically all the important stuff into exosuit's 60 slots, with only few standalone techs that's optional and to taste of the player

Life Support, Shield strength, Solar Panel Power and Sprint Distance
Shield Strength is 100% mandatory, Life Support is 99% mandatory for me.
I used to use fuel efficiency but I was never able to roll a good % on this stat while the other 3 has high rolls.
Core Health OTOH is as effective as not having any at all in its place, I treat it as a blank stat
so core health is basically nothing ?

Not entirely, but it's very easy to cap
The stat itself is useful, but you can max it out without ever needing for them to appear on Sentinel and autophage
so i roll em on other tech?
Rememberance and star seed placed side by side, plus the 3 shield techs, is enough to max core health out
Provided of course, you have core health on the shields, this is not a concern for S rank shield techs since they always appear on it, but on X ranks you may want to make sure core health si on it
For health specifically there is a cap, I do not believe there are caps on other stats
The values are pretty high
you may set that aside, but lack of shields means you would have to place it in the corner or in the middle, since it can't get adjacency bonus from shield techs directly (AFAIK), so you may need to use other sentinel/autophage techs to provide the adjacency

The max values of Life support is 110, sprint distance 60, solar panel 75 and fuel efficiency I think is 31

Adjacency bonus is: techs get more powerful when they are placed next to another that boost the same thing, if you see the image here, you will see that the shield, sentinel and autophage are placed in a 3x3 in the bottom left hand corner. For those techs, the Sentinel and autophase only get boosted by the shield upgrade when they have either Shield Strength or Core Health stats on them, since I black listed Core Health, that means shield strength is mandatory, because otherwise shield upgrade won't boost them.
Stats are not hidden, the sentinel and autophage techs can only have 4 stats maximum
If module can have more than 4 possible stats . The other stats are showed in lower class

Check between Autophage and Sentinel
see if they have different stat on their catalogue. They share the exact same stat pools

Also if that Boltcaster A-Class module is the "Boltcaster Ricochet Module" then you can absolutely installl one more S-Class upgrade module, unless that C-Class one is an upgrade and not the Barrel Ionizer

That one is indeed going swimmingly, though you can install the Barrel Ionizer to add a bit more to it's stats, as well as the sentinel upgrades gotten from salvaged glass, gained from collecting the canisters from dead sentinels

Also, supercharging the main weapon module is more optimal than supercharging a weapon's upgrades. This goes for all ship and tool weapons except for the Neutron Cannon

The sentinel MT upgrades only improve the Boltcaster, but they count as different upgrades so you can install 3 of those too
their stats are very random (similar to illegal upgrades), so it may be good to install a bunch, then dismantle the lower stat ones

i had similar issues after beacon update; in short, i just ignored it, and it eventually despawned/stopped "blocking" the settlement

on high base complexity i dont get a single issue (BUUUT, i do fall through the ground)
hey btw, idk if you want to use it as it is kind of cheesy, but theres a way to essentially guarantee that the "random" upgrade from sentinel upgrades, black market upgrades, and autophage upgrades are good upgrades. If you'd like to use it i have the link to the reddit page that describes how to do it or i could just tell you how to do it. not that difficult, and everything is possible to do ingame with no third party software

Any really, chances aren't different between star colors for that I think
each of the main six biomes (Scorched, Frozen, Toxic, Irradiated, Barren and Lush) have their own infested subbiome. Ones that are infested have different biome names than normal #nms-commands message

Kinda? Infested lush worlds can't get the Paradise Planet/Moon name that's normally given by having no storms and low sentinel activity. One of their own names is "Infested Paradise" but this doesn't align with storm/sentinel presence. They can still lack storms and have low sentinel activity though, like basically every other type of planet

Those are not in the game, there are only living ships and living/organic frigates
As far as I've seen you can't just give ships, you have to sell it to an NPC at a space station and someone else buys it from the NPC but that hasn't been working.

You typed the coordinates incorrectly, or it's one of the few systems that can't be reached due to an off by one error in the portal system
Having the Atlantid Drive installed on your current starship is not a factor

As I said before, Outlaw Systems have the exact same spawn chances for Exotic ships as all other inhabited systems
exotic chances are same, js the S class chances are higher
Though space stations are less ideal due to them spawning ships a bit slower, and outlaw stations have even less landing pads which can hurt that a bit
a trading outpost will always be better IMO, and you can save + reload after 5 ships have landed to force more to spawn and land

Most likely their vision of corvettes are another type of starship, not freighters but smaller. The regularly allowed size for corvettes displays this, as well as the fact that you can only have one primary starship at a time still.

ime, these systems are really rare to find, and why they happen remains illusive, probably hidden in the code we can't see. it's unclear if the observed behavior i.e. an increased weight to spawning an exotic in the first wave also manifests the same for any players who visit the same reported system. the way i personally gauge if i've found a first wave exotic system is if an exotic spawns on the first wave in some system, i'll save+reload and check if it spawns again. if it maintains this behavior for more than 50 reloads in a row - and i've even found systems where a double exotic could spawn on the first wave more than half those reloads), then i will safely assume that i've found one.

solar panels+batteries are normally fine for any small-ish base, but when power need goes above say, 400kps, i'd very much consider using power hotspot+em generator instead

in short, hotspots are like infinite forcefields that we can harvest with specific base building parts. you find them using a multitool tech called survey device. i'd recommend running !faq-units in #nms-commands , follow the mineral farming guide link

electromagnetic generator is a base part that you'll use to harvest power hotspots (also explained in the guide)

hi, im on the neoterra planet, but somehow, i cant load bases like las genesis, my portal only list like 8 bases on the planet. can someone help me, ty
which npc is this with? heh, i dont think i've done practice language skills in the anomaly, missed it or i just ignore it i guess 😄 anyway, usually the reward can be learning another word out of the same npc, or some random item like upgrade modules, or even standing inc/dec
you dont always get the positive rewards though, regardless of which word you picked

well, it depends on the race of the npc you're talking too ofc - for example, korvax really like when you talk tech terms with them, while gek really like trade related words

There is a pin in #nms-legacy-ships that outlines the process
- there's also a limit of parts that can be stored in the server for a specific system, by all player uploaded bases; 8*3000 is exactly 24000 parts, which iirc is exactly right about the limit that we've sorta been able to hit. it's possible that the limit is actually 25k, but perhaps no one uploaded a base with 1k or less parts to make it be 9 bases on the teleporter.

Depends what your mission is asking you to do, and where it is directing you to go
no, that's not possible to do. the only way a base would get pushed off the list is triggered by the server itself. the details on what conditions it does this on arent fully known afaik, though we think that's probably a combo of last upload time, and if more bases have been uploaded since then, maybe even how often a different player or players, try to upload new bases. that's a part that we don't see.

Wire them all together. Wire all of the batteries together. 1 wire from the panel group to the battery group, 1 wire from the battery group to the base power network

nah, it's iirc based on categories of words, and the words you can say are words you've already learned ofc, from those categories. like tech, or combat, or trade, or lore, etc

guys how do i complete this story mission? this mission is the one where u go to the cartography NPCs and each of them u have to do a task so they tell u the story of their species, them they get possesed by that strange number 16 thingy and yea. i reached the Gek's mission but idk what the hell this guy wants me to do, i already did like 4 missions and none of them counted towards the 0/2 requirement of contracts completed, what do i do here???

@heady perch You have to do the right type of mission

Patterns in Time mission will task the player with completing missions for the Gek race - not just any mission picked up from a Gek mission board.
Missions of the same type can be stacked and completed in tandem, even if they're set in different planets. Turning in can be done at any station, doesn't have to be a Gek system.
