might vary from system to system. try to save+reload to force a respawn (if they're taking too long to respawn after all ships of the first wave have left)
yeah, except it's defending it from a pirate freighter and its fleet of frigates too, not just some pirate ships. as @inland ermine said, you must have completed 2 rescue battles and own a freighter in the save for pirate freighters to spawn. pirate freighters are always free. type !faq-freighters in #nms-commands for some event guides.

You could encounter one also in need of saving
if you dont have options/difficulty/space combat set to none, then just progrssing through the quests and playing the game will eventually task you up to rescue one; until you take ownership of a freighter, all freighters rescued from pirates will be offered for free

there's an easier way imo, and this is probably what tyndall was referring to earlier. just forget rescue battles exist. familiarize yourself with locating outlaw systems in the galaxy map. until the next rescue battle triggers, always exit ship in the station before warping out to another system. if you do this, even if the next battle triggers in a nonoutlaw system, and there's no pirate freighter attacking (but you're sure you've met the requirements for it to spawn), you just reload restore point, wait a minute, open galaxy map, find an outlaw system nearby, warp to it, battle will trigger.
all outlaw systems use the pirate freighter event type after its spawn requirements are met, when the rescue battle event is triggered in them
also after pirate freighter spawn reqs are met, 20% of outlaw systems and 10% of t3 conflict systems always trigger the pirate freighter rescue battle, regardless of how much time and warps it has been accumulated since the last rescue battle. you can certainly find portal coords to such systems: portal in, warp out to nearby system, warp back in, battle triggers, everytime
are those quests doable?

Can I clear New Beginnings/Space Anomaly/Atlas Eternal?
In short, no.
- New Beginnings signals completion of the main storyline.
-# Select it when you don't want to see any mission related tooltips lower right of the screen. - Atlas Eternal is an endless mission that signals completion of the Atlas Path.
-# Don't have to keep doing it if you don't want to, not unless you want to max out Atlas words. - The Space Anomaly doesn't truly have an objective after the interactions with the main storyline missions.
-# Core warping can make it update from one objective to another, but it will just return to the same as it was after that's done.

Greetings No Manās Sky Discord. Over the past two weeks, I have played 62 hours of No Manās Sky, and am still enjoying the experience. I barely scratched the surface of the gameās systems, and many questions still remain. Internet searches failed to find answers to a handful of these, and it is my hope that Discord might fill in these blanks.
Can I keybind direct switching starship power division and multitool functions?
Dogfights feel clunky scrolling through one by one, same with mining. I assume modding is the answer to both, but I thought I should ask.
Is it worth doing more missions before starting a large base for blueprints?
Presently, I just met ||Apollo|| and gained access to the overseer, but possess over 500 salvaged data, and desire blueprints. If it will only be a few dozen wasted, I do not mind.
Does the class of electrical outputs limit on how many Electromagnetic generators can be placed?
Online information seems no indicate no, but it may be outdated
Can the player create galaxy groups in the discovery lists?
As an example, creating a group of galaxies you deem the best for farming toxic waste.
Is corvette building worth it for an early-mid player?
I have received dozen of parts, however, it looks expensive to compete. All I have right now is 45 mil>
Are there any decent ways to track down the final flora and minerals on planets?
I have so many that are one away from completion. It is vexing!

if you just need some items, try asking around #nms-lfg-or-trades . you could also customize options/difficulty/purchases and make those free.
that said, there's lots of ways to farm units, and some of these require access to space anomaly (for tech and base part unlocks), but here's some suggestions:
- scanning fauna for units (especially if buffed through nutrient ingestor), install 3 s-class visor modules to get to 450k on rare fauna scans
- trade routes, smuggling
- mining gold, growing plants e.g. nipnip or venom urchin
- farming salvageable scrap containers (can sell salvageable scrap and corvette parts)
- scrapping ships (
!faq-interceptorin #bot-spam for sentinel ship hunting, recommend harmonic camp link)
type !faq-units in #nms-commands for more infos and details, anything else just ask
Space Stations regularly have them. If the merchant does not have it, come back at a later date or try another system.
So i found a sunken ship and as i was looking for parts for to build an aquatic base for my new ship so i could repair i lost my ship. I tried using the scanner but it lead me to another ship. I can't find my new ship and can't summon it to me because it isn't repaired any advice
Can you summon your old ship? While it might not be your active ship, your other ships should be stored in the other ship tab, in the quick menu.
Do you have a freighter? Ships get stored there.
- you can hotkey switching to different multitools when on foot, but there's not hotkeying for changing ship power modes
- yeah, the large part of the available base building parts will be unlocked with salvaged data - you wont be saving a whole lot by running the overseer/base crew quests
- no, but if you consider that every hotspot, regardless of class, has a volume that it can give power to, decreasing in strength as further away from hotspot center - there's a limit, somewhere
- no. most players just resort to base computer networks for that
- i'd say yes, if you like them certainly, you can loot parts from the wild, and use the workshop to barter for parts you want but couldnt get rng to drop yet
- nah, really just exploring anywhere you can think of, all over the planet

Can't summon a ship?
If you don't have a freighter or have more than 6 active ships, go to a base on a planet, and save+reload restore point. A quick way to update restore point is to enter+exit ship/seat.
You should now be able to quick menu/summon any of your ships, regardless of its condition.
This is a failsafe added by the devs to ensure players never lose ships in their collection.

I do have a freighter
upgrade module shop offerings, station trade terminal offerings, guild envoy offerings: all fixed per system also @frank blade - so if a station doesnt have s-class scanner modules, gotta system hop
just goto space and resummon it; if you've got 6 or less ships, the one you're after will be in the hanger

just drop and claim base computers on planets in different systems. rename the base comps to something easy to remember. also note that we dont need a teleporter at a base in order to teleport to it, only to teleport out

early on, anything that's not salvaged data, used to recharge your ship and suit systems, or for some quest - you can just sell if you're struggling for cargo slots
salvaged data you'll have a continued use for for a bit

Should I settle for an A-class Freighter, or keep battling RNG for the S-class?
Mostly up to the player, but in short, the differences between A-class vs S-class Capital Freighters (including Pirate Dreadnought):
- 3 vs 4 supercharged slots;
- 50+100 vs 60+120 max inventory upgrade limit;
- Slightly lower ranges vs Slightly higher ranges to base bonuses;

elaborating further: if you dont need 4 SC slots, 60+120 limit - a-class, even lower class is fine

if not using a corvette, yeah, after you dock with it and exit ship inside, you can just aim visor at hanger walls to see stats (exiting a non-corvette ship on a freighter we dont own doesnt update restore point)

well, they're certainly more chill places than inhabited systems. all buildings are void of npcs, space station is abandoned as well, unusual trade terminal offerings, sometimes planets are void of fauna as well

low ive bee looking and buying ships for maybe 2 hours its the first one i see
depends on system eco tier level
down to luck and drop chances (see table above). these days, with some nanite farming strategies it's often faster to either build a ship or a upgrade a lower class ship to s-class tbh
solar sails are pretty nice tbh - but really only worth owning gear you love the looks of, we cant have infinite ships or multitools. starting inventory size can be upgraded

depends on what kind of stuff. just about anything, just sell anywhere. if illegal goods, to any non outlaw system. if trade commodities, in a system of the right eco type that has demand for the trade commodity item you want to sell (and a system with a sell percentage as close to 80% as possible; type !faq-units in #nms-commands , see trade routes guide)
S 25+13 is good bk201?
that's going to affect things like the size of the stockpiles being sold by trade terminals and npc pilots; or gear drop chances (t3 eco 2% for s-class, outlaw 5% for s-class but also 85% for c-class). outlaw systems have a few more differences, e.g. no trade terminal in the station, there's a contraband agent diff terminal
i'd not worry about freighter starting inventory size; cargo bulkhead, the freighter inventory upgrade item, is relatively easy to come by - and in the long run, what a lower inventory size means is that you're just going to apply a few more bulkheads
could upgrade that freighter to 60 tech and 120 cargo
but honestly with matter beam, resonance matrix and 10 storage rooms, it's probably going to be a while before you actually need to get to 120 core cargo
so its fine to get

Obtaining Lithium/Finding a Waterworld biome planet
Requirements:
- Purple star systems unlocked.

- Look for a Gas Giant system - they're tagged as such in the Galaxy Map.
- Land on the Gas Giant planet: obtain 1 Crystallised Helium and 1 Activated Quartzite (e.g. from mineral deposits), refine Crystalized Helium+Activated Quartzite to get Lithium.
- Open Catalog & Guide > Materials & Items, Raw Materials - Exotic;
- Cursor over Lithium, press Locate key/button.
- Follow new mission objective and to the marked system in the galaxy map.
After reaching marked system, look for any planet with Lithium on the resource list.

Just install three upgrade modules for the one you're using, as well as the blueprint tech related to it
You can buy upgrade modules for multi-tool weapons from the space station multitool tech merchant. You can install up to three of these per type, not including blueprint technology

Yeah I have done im just not sure on specifics like thereās a few that confuse me in the anomaly like what ones ideally do I want the splitter upgrade the javelin?
I use the neutron cannon it kills sentinels really quick when its upgraded
IMO, the Blaze Javelin is the only weapon that can't do good on it's own, it's balanced around how it's blueprint tech enables it to stun

reloading a save after 5 ships have landed is ideal, as it despawns all ships and a new batch will spawn immediately to land at the outpost

In a crovette, how can I ensure some parts are used for stats instead of another of the same type? I have 3 habs and a walkway, but it keeps insisting on using the walkway

I want the walkway, i just dont want it used for the stats. And I did try removing it, saving it, and then re-adding it

they add cargo slots
and yeah, again, saving without walkways correctly coutns the 3 habs, but i add it back and it uses the walkway for the stat instead
walkway is +1 cargo, hab is +3
Right, which doesn't go over the 120 max corvette has, and you can reach that with or without the techs, anyway, that's a little bit besides the point.
My only suggestion is probably try this, when you have removed the walkway tech, add something else that adds to the tech slots but not the walk way, and add in the walk way, see if that helps any
Otherwise if that's till doesn't work, I would simply just cut your losses and use the augmentation to unlock the cargo slots, I don't think the cargo slot techs can push the corvette cargo slots above what's allowed

no, you can only select up to two resources to be produced once production surpasses costs, based on which buildings you have in that settlement

lacking multiplayer doesn't take away any features at all about the game, you can still use portals to reach every planet, see and upload bases/discoveries etc

Corvettes have a fixed top speed that isn't improved by these beyond like the first +20% Boost stat
It's still additional storage, plus it can have huge warp range, and you can make a base with crops etc and generate materials with the stellar extractor.
And frigate expeditions.
Freighters are extremely useful.
The Matter Beam enables you to place items you'd normally use for crafting/recharging in it's core Cargo inventory, so you can still charge/craft using those items while freeing up exosuit cargo space
Also, warping using it and scanning systems with the Scanner Room is still the most preferable form of system exploration
and freighter refiners are the only refiners that can easily be tiled/placed in mass amounts other than corvette refiners

Yes, by adding Hyperdrive Upgrade Modules into it's technology inventory. For corvettes, you can also add Zenith-Class Reactors, up to three of them will give stat buffs from being tech in the inventory
You can buy upgrade modules for starships, like hyperdrive ones, from the starship tech merchant aboard space stations. Each station sells each module at different classes. S-Class ones aren't rare, just slightly expensive

What are the main differences between creative and custom modes?
You can see a brief description of each option in the difficulty options menu
for the pro builders, how much easier is it?
Creative? It directly makes everything free and disables damage, it doesn't get easier than that
Also if beginning a save in creative (or with the specific options selected), nearly all blueprints are already known and the tutorial is skipped

Open the quick menu, then select Leave Pilot Seat
Also you can bind any quick menu option to any of the numbers 0 - 9, by pressing ctrl + that number with the option highlighted

You won't lose your bases/progress/anything (||though your technology will be temporarily damaged depending on your choice, but this can be repaired||). You don't even need to warp through the galactic core for that mission, just progress towards it. See this post #nms-questions message

how do i tp to a black hole ?
You can see the location of star systems that have a black hole on the galaxy map, represented by a purple swirling icon. The black hole in these systems will be close to the space station, and right in front of your face on-warp.
Touching it sends you many hundreds of thousands of light-years, to a semi-random part of the galaxy about 5,000 LY closer to the center of the galaxy than your previous location
if you lose track of it after being in the system, switch to cockpit view and use the mini radar to find the purple sphere, pulse to it
It has a yellow hexagonal symbol on it, both in your view and on the compass when you're in space piloting a ship

There is a type of star system called Uncharted Systems that lack a space station, as well as nearly all other signs of sapient life
Possibly save and reload, this happens temporarily when modifying the corvette but fixes itself
did this happen modifying it while in flight?

hello, so I warped to another galactic and got hit with random mission about some random freighter being attacked, I helped them and it now says to talk to the capitan to collect my reward, but theres no way to enter the ship any help?

Quality of Life: Summoning exocrafts via on foot Quick Menu
- Requirement: At one of your bases, build all the exocraft geobays you want to have for later use. They can't be built on the freighter base, other than that pick any base you like.
Then, in the future, when on any planet in the universe, the actual summoning part is done using one of these methods:
a) Build the portable Exocraft Summoning Station on the current planet, use on foot quick menu to summon desired exocraft(s), delete Exocraft Summoning Station.
b) Build the Orbital Exocraft Materializer freighter room, summon freighter to current system, use on foot quick menu to summon desired exocraft(s).

i go first for engines (spawn in, left turn, they'll be in the back), then i fly back up and hover at the entrance of a trench: blast down the range, all shields gens gone, fuel rods will pop shortly after, destroy those too; fly through the trench - weEeeEee!!! - and out and into the other one, repeat. last fuel rod is gone, it surrenders.

yeah, this works as well, once i get rid of the first fuel rods i'll start flying through
I'm a speed demon, I take out the rear engines, back out then run down the right top-side looking from the rear, taking out the 6 huge lasers firing on the local freighter, last one down the pirate freighter surrenders. To kill the pirate freighter for upgrades, i'm the same as bk201 but shoot hull down to zero and boom!

yeah. if you're on pc, you can just copy paste the save folder to a location of your choosing, if on console you could just make use of hellogames cloud (and manual uploads)

a side but important note: if a player blows up all engines+all fuel rods (or all engines+all cannons), player will only have a few seconds (5s or so) between the last fuel rod (or cannon) going out and game triggering surrender reward to blow up any remaining pirate freighter health, in order for the game to still switch to the larger reward pool (which includes the s-class module or a A/S class ship reactor). so iow, the ship must have huge fire power to do so (unless well, player deleted some of its health before taking out last fuel rod).

20% of outlaw systems spawn the freighter battle on every warp, so warp out and back in to that system
Go lucky when I built this one with 3 adjacent SC slots around the weapon, takes last few % of pirate freighter hull out in matter of seconds after last fuel rod taken out.

If you want to meet someone on the anomaly, do you need to share a session to guarantee the same instance, or what?
if you're on pc, you could just save edit/mod/rerun old expedition offline to unlock the blueprint. if you're not on pc, you could use service bot. if you dont want to or cant do any of these, another player could craft them and send them to you - wouldnt unlock the blueprints this way, you could dupe the parts by using the workshop builder though
since the anomaly is never super crowded, I assume there are multiple instances of it

Would be better to meet off of the Anomaly. The game tries to get groups in the same instance of the Anomaly, but with a max of 16 players per instance it's not always successful

if active void egg was given to you by the starbirth quest, you dont need to worry about losing it anyway: the quest has a failsafe that does checks on player inventory, and if it finds one of the needed items missing, it will just recreate them

you're referring to a pirate freighter rescue battle event?
when it gives you money and standing, you probably made it surrender
in short, the idea is to defend the npc freighter, either by making the pirate freighter surrender or blow it up
but in the actual battle, ignore the npc freighter and torpedoes and enemy ships, focus exclusively on the pirate freighter

I measured my base plan out wrong, I am the type who has it drawn out on paper, and I was off by a couple of blocks

if you've already completed 2 rescue battles in the save, and excluding pirate freighter, yes, only 1 capital freighter design per inhabited system
you probably can, but it's better if you have it disabled to avoid any bumps, in case other players are also going there

as long as the coordinates in the other galaxy are more than 4k LY away from the coordinates in the other galaxy, yeah
diff galaxies still use the same coords system
@distant pike an easy way that people often get is to just use featured bases in the anomaly, regardless of galaxy

hmm.. first things that pop to mind are a) pressing H or dpad left brings up the hud and force cycles tooltips lower right of the screen if spammed, b) melee jetpack and c) using terrain manipulator smallest beam size yields more resources out of the same deposit

You don't
You go there and see if you have the ability to reset
If not, you do another one and try again
wait a few seconds after teleporting in to give the game time to recalc

Translators don't teach words and can translate words you already know. Not only that, A+S will translate the most possible words in a conversation. The drives don't add anything other than a minimal amount of warp distance

I just accepted a live ship. If I restart the savepoint I had before accepting it, can I go to a new one I find on Reddit and pick that one instead by doing the ārestart mission using nearby structuresā

no; but you could goto a teleporter and see if there's a destination closer to the selected mission, or if there's destinations with mission icons on them

The only way to adopt flying fauna (that don't rest on the ground) is on PC with mods

remember, using creature survey visor mode, if a creature doesn't show class/stats, then that means that creature cannot be tamed without mods

Not really a constructive question, given that each species of fauna is uniquely procedurally generated, and is exclusive to that planet.

So I barely have any carbon in my pockets and none in my storage, but when I go to refill my atmosphere harvesters the little box shows I have 999 or more somewhere. Where do the harvesters look for carbon?
