Can I just leave my Corvette parts in the storage at the station? I've got like two storage containers dedicated to 'vette parts
yeh theres a storage box for them. 160 parts at 500 each
I try to organize somewhat, but there are so many categories of items
Ten storage containers isn't exactly enough
I'm considering using some mods, but I'm worried about updates breaking things
For a while I was using random ships as rotatable storage units. Just grabbing the cheapest crap that flew into space stations. Named them based on what they were dedicated to holding.
But I got better, mainly because I was tired of trying to keep track of everything.
I just use my freighter but I have a second corvette that I can use for storage
I love when I've already put some serious effort into a new design and then suddenly have a great idea to try that would require me to completely restart.
i traded for 2 arcadia heavy boosters and i lost the items i traded with and didnt get the booster
anyone know why and how to get them back
They will be able to help you out. As far as the ones people use, how to use them and import modded assets to your game properly
did you look in all inventories?

then I think save editing is your only option to getting stuff back
I think there's a bug when you do trading and your exosuit has no free slots, but this is only second hand "knowledge"
If your exosuit is full and you delete Corvette parts they vanish. You have to have slots in your suit inventory when deleting

fairly simple
you just need one accessible reversed part and you can build off from it
so you dont have to place a stairway for every time you want a reversed piece
a reversed part can also overlap and occupy* the same space as a non reversed part

Tried building an internal staircase to try and get out but it didn't work, so I'm not sure what I can do apart from starting a new game.

try building a classic chair if you have it in the base building menu, sit in it and then get out
also you can try reloading your save from the options menu
I put a new exhaust on the back of my ship and it's blocking the hatch. I can get into the cockpit and have tried building the chair as well as the ladder. No joy.

stylisticly maybe buty if you want a exact model you'd end up having to mod the game
everything would be doable but the wings are the problem

what i do in that situation is reload autosave mid air until you glitch through the ground

i had it happen to me once and that was the only way i could escape
I wonder if you get just get otuside the station and then summon a ship to escape and then summon a differentr ship that you can get in and out of
theres a wall at the space station entrance
I've heard that there's a hole somewhere in station for when you glitch through. Have not bothered actually looking though

I just watched a vid on offset and other placements. Ny head is spinning. Definately gotta practice in creative mode.
You can just change your difficulty settings to custom, basically get the same thing tbh.

The 2 main ways to offset things I use, which I saw in a video, is you can use small vents on a hab to offset its position
It takes a little bit to set up a proper template for 360 building. But once you have it set up it's super easy to build off of it. Allowing more circular builds in vanilla

why do some of the thrusters not work?
After so many thrusters visually some of them will start shutting down. The same goes with rockhoppers

It's either a visual bug or a limitation put in place. I'm sure there's some way to bypass it or fix it with a mod. But I don't know of any way to force them in vanilla

Breach redux runs from Dec to Jan also i'd suggest turning off Multiplayer for that one as it was a massive issue for bugs when it ran earlier this year
@icy oar Titans are set into the ship's main mass, eliminating that "enormous extra space" issue.

This thing's a nightmare in general. I was just messing around with whatever crazy thing came into my head at any moment. It has a tendancy to trap anyone who tries to climb around on it. lol
Is there a way to turn a gun to its side to where it faces the side of the ship?
Idk if there is. You might be able to glitch it somehow, or use an external editor and mods to force it to happen, but I think weapons specifically are extremely rigid in what they can be made to do.
If you mean sideways like old Galleon ships of old then i think you'd have to mod that in or see if you can make a cannon like object with the decorations available in base mode
That's how I've seen it done. Not actual weapons, but something made to look a lot like a weapon.
You would have to set up the guns on a Hab that's built at 90°. Then remove those habs
At that point they would stay pointed to the left and right of your ship. Looking like they're attached to whatever is underneath them.

I'm so glad they separated the inside from the outside to the inside build limit on the outside
I don't know of any glitches in no man's sky
The one that allows you to build vertically is a glitch
The 2 other bits are just creative (maybe glitches) ways of using how to things snap
Like a small vent will let you offset habs to build things slightly out of position and get more depth
The big open circle rockhopper can be placed at 3 points on the right side of a big hab, letting you shift things forwards or backwards easily.
Only works on one side though not both
I'd call those glitches. Doesn't seem like that was intended or it'd be easier.

That always bugged me about that storage. You put one stack of something in it, and it takes up 2 slots.
yes. they are considered by the game to be one inventory location so you lose stuff

Mine stopped doing that once I started quitting to the desktop rather than the mode select screen after saving
the happens with ALL refiners because the game de-renders it when it's not in your immediate view; you pretty much have to babysit refiners

Haven't had that happen, but i know the interaction zones can overlap when things are close to each other
I had to move a refiner when doing the corvette expedition because it overlapped with either the hatch lever or button
It's a shared inventory bug. I haven't had it happen in a while
Only happened in long Habs with refiners or kitchen on same wall. But thought they patched it

Funny enough, I'm not lagging when doing the hab glitch like I usually do.

Originally I was going to do windows to view from the wings, but I am thinking moving the viewing area further back and making a slightly longer ship now since this isn't working out how I pictured
Nope, this is my first time doing a major custom build on my own
if you have time to watch the offset video in the pinned messages of this channel, i highly recommend it
makes merging parts to create smooth transitions easier
I didn't realize there were so many videos pinned in here, might spend some time watching those to get some ideas for my ship
@fervent mist per your comment in the corvette image thread: You should have the option to just create a new corvette at the build station. It won't override your existing one, just save it so you can recall it at any time.
If it's not allowing you to start a fresh one, you have a rather odd bug going on.

Vertical Building
When using this method be aware that the light and the triangle decal at the top of the Titan ramp is slightly to the left of center. So to center it in the middle of your ship you need to aim just to the right of these objects.

Like say I wanna make a ship that has a rear gunner, can I place a cockpit for it even if I don’t use it?

You can also have a hab section on level with the rest of the top, then use an entrance ramp to make a "door" of sorts

Nah, just stack a hab on top of the top as normal, slap a ramp on the end, and it acts like a doorway. Of course that could totally wreck the appearance you're going for, so the concept of just having a ladder from a hab up to the "roof" could be the better option for you.
I'll slap together something real quick to show what I'm talking about.
I haven't really messed with those much because they can be so glitchy. Half the time I'll fall right through it when it when I activate the lift.

I think if you used the lift unit, you'd still need to have a ramp opening anyway

I was legit going to just build a big hollow square with connector pieces, a cockpit at the front, and some engines. Then the Ghost song "Square Hammer" popped into my head and this stupidity was born. It actually cannot land anywhere outside a space station for some reason (though I haven't tried water yet). Also handles like a grain silo. lol
You can actually get a second cockpit on, though it only counts the first one you placed so dont place that one in a bad spot you cant get out of.

hey apparently when you have refiners next to eachother in a long hab, it breaks their inventories and can lose you items
every each 24 refiner's i have on it is 1 in each hab
there not together i hv no issue for past mouth
i dont / the setup is not having them together completely diffirent 100% work for me so im getting 20x more resources then take it to my frieghter crafting items i need plus storage i have on my cargo hauler to do sum runs.

Its small enough that you can see every part from the photos but id recommend building the frame, so to speak, and then filling up the space between the blades in your own unique way. I bet you can get it prettier than i have it. Its one standard row on the bottom, with 3 rows above it. build the blades vertically on the top and bottom of the top row, remove the piece connecting them to the center row, then slip an aeron engine in between them, mounted on that remaining central row. The cowling of the engine will touch the floating blades, reconnecting them to the ship. That will give you the frame to play around with.
i believe to get the two top row decorative Aeron wedges to be two abreast like that i mounted two guns to the midpoint location on a central wedge piece, deleted the wedge, mounted scaffolding pieces to them, then the aeron wedges, then deleted the scaffolding. but im not 100% sure it was a while ago 😅
but i know wedge pieces do have 2 mounting points on either side halfway down the wedge for sure
shes no slouch either! focused on just maxing out the phase beam cause it 2 shots almost any ship

Things are coming along nicely. The base hull layer being Arcadia wings, and then the Atlas wings layered on top looks solid. I want to go up one more layer, and I need to squash that top layer down to remove the gaps. Then I need to decide how open I want the interior.

seems like a wide range between pure vanilla, to a few tricks and glitches, to full blown custom builds. little bit of everything from what ive seen
One of the mods I have installed inadvertently gave me free crafting without actually having it enabled. Not that it makes a difference because I'd be in free build anyways for these massive ships.
The ships that are essentially a 1:1 replica of star destroyers and cruisers and so on are built in the base building app.
So the app is completely separate from the game? I found nexusmod when I search for it.
The base builder app is on Nexus Mods, but it's basically blender for NMS.
Separate program, like the save editors.
Has anyone experimented with off-center cockpits? Does it feel weird?
I did that using Thunderbird cockpit and it caused that issue where your nose points up during auto pilot. Not sure if it's a guarantee it will happen every time but I didn't try again
I wonder what a backwards cockpit would do.

All parts are available with free crafting
Although there are a few modules locked behind an expedition (not an issue if you're on PC)
The Atlas engines currently offer the best stats (assuming you care about performance)
I want to experiment with new shapes without compromising my main save

How many lights and electronic devices do you have on your ship? Corvettes do have a maximum power output and things will start shutting down if you put too much on it
How many reactors do you have on it?

There are flat wall panels you can use to cover those areas. And with five or six lights behind that panel it will give it an area effect of lighting that will do similar to what you are looking for
That's why I repeatedly build more Eclipse-class cruisers. I always want to do something else to make them even better.
Like my latest version. Combining the atlas wings with the Arcadia wings for the hull, a much larger and spacious interior, a wider keel, and new paint.

I don't know what that is. I only see C-, B-, A-, and S-class ships
in game is that but name wise its the corvette build witch rename ur corvette knowing the C/B/A/S but its referring to type of class of ship u make then go through renaming the ship of its class type depending what u r building is what they ment btw
E comes after S in ranking. E for extra special. Eclipse-class = E-Class.

The key to building an E-Class ship is by throwing on a bunch of Atlas parts.
same with other weapon turrets depends what type u like more or what u want to add to ur corvette
Hmm afaik the other turrets basically divide your fire rate by 3 and then have the 3 turrets shoot
one of my corvette has 6 turret 2 of 3 types of turrets im using and have all 6 to shoot that i got working and pack a bunch in dmg

Why are people against mainlining phase beams? Just based on the numbers they consistently have the highest DPS
My phase beams serve as my main battery cannons because they look the best.
I mean I can get variety for aesthetics. But practicality and gameplay purposes you still want to be able to destroy dreadnoughts as fast as possible

They really can't Nerf it. If anything they would just come out with a separate beam type platform separate from the phase beam completely.
Similar to what they did with the deadeye Cannon replacing the positron ejector.
well they can make it so that only three phase beam weapon spots fire at a time
and only the actual weapon spots fire and not all your weapon spots
I mainly use phase beams for anything requiring sustained focused damage
Still like using cyclotron on shields though
too many of them.
Game can normally breathe with around 110 lights on the corvette.
There is a mod that increases how many engines/weapons actually work. But it broke my game two updates ago and I'm scared to try it again. Really did look cool while it worked

Ive been seeing conflincting info on reddit, so i figured id come here. Ive seen claims you can store corvettes in cold storage via freighters but counter arguments that say there's no way to store corvettes yet at all. I dont yet have a freighter to test. Is there a storage method in place or in the works for future updates? I've got a design I want to keep long term but also want to try multiple builds.

In terms of keeping multiple designs, it would probably be better to make a creative save for that
Don't think there's a mod for that either. Best you can do is save the JSON somewhere, I guess.
Otherwise, you probably wouldnt have any real reason to have more than six corvettes total
hm. ok. creative may be the way to go in that case. I typically prefer "earned" progress vs creative in games but I'll try creative.

Launch fuel shouldn't matter if summoned on a station, so try it there if you haven't already
btw to let everyone know since ive tested every possible way so the max of turrets u can get working is 6 depending on witch type u used
plus need right amount of reactor to get it to work reccomended is 2 or 3

When can they increase the slot or allow us to put corvette in archive, 12 really aint enough plus I do need to keep an ship in the active roster
I'd imagine that archiving is something they're working toward, especially given that corvettes alone have caused the highest continuous player count in the game's history.

You should just be able to create a new one at the corvette terminal. The other will just be saved aside and you can summon it from the quick menu.

Might also try archiving one of your ships on your freighter at the fleet terminal. just make sure it doesn't have any cargo in it first. It'll keep the tech it has, but cargo will be wiped.

hey yall how in gods name do i make the camera go free from my character, i cant do anything with my ship wiuth the camera stuck near my character he moves so slow its not even practical, do they not have a free cam option?

If you're doing like base decorations and parts, I think it would be easier to go land the corvette at your base and work there. You should be able to use the build camera then. I haven't really played with decorations, but I seem to recall that camera doesn't work inside the station.
You could also try switching to first person view while building

Managed to make my corvette look heinous
Pfft. I do that all the time.
For the 2 hits every ship you better try and get the X class modules for it with Slightly more % of damage, i worked so hard to get the 2 taps but now i have it and it does 25.457 damage per hit, enough to kill even a sentinel ship in 2 hits, and so i also discovered that sentinels ships have 22.000 hp according to my calculations
And idk about the infra knife because i dont have any supercharged slot enable for now because i sold all of them for the motors
And Idk why if is it only me but the infraknife doesnt lock on targets in combat
So i pick up the phase beam that still doesnt lock on targets but can deal full damace in one hit
you can add teleporters to corvettes but they arent functional
Someone can give/trade them to you. Not quick silve but the actual Aeron parts. and then you craft them

It's legitimately fun in groups, and especially if you do large scale pvp. I once sat close to 18 hours in a single session with 3k other people and with 10% ti-di as we destroyed the first keepstar ever

I just started collecting corvette parts from salvage containers and its a tedious process of moving parts from inventory to ship storage. Then on space station, from storage to inventory to cache. Is there another way?

Don't put them in storage containers, just do the back and forth when ship and exosuit inventories are full

The cache only shows exosuite inventory for me. Can you transfer corvette parts directly from your ship to the cache?

It does, I usually quick transfer from ship to suit
But just selecting the corvette parts in your suit inventory will transfer them over

I put all my Corvette parts here and have 30 free slots empty u see ive collected alot and stock up so i go build a Corvette using the parts in workshop cache inventory and if ive dismantle my parts of my Corvette to reshape it to make it better goes into my exosuit so i hv to place them bk in my workshop cache inventory.

just make sure you have space in your exosuit when building as there is currently a bug that will delete parts that you take off your corvette if your exosuit is full sicne that's where parts go when your working on a corvette

Just tested this by changing my creative save to normal, filling up my exosuit inventory, deleting parts off a corvette, and looks like it does into the corvette inventory now.
Not sure if this was the case 11 days ago when i tested it but hopefully this is how it works going forward

Gun placement for looks is not important, you want to test if it fires correctly and is aligned with your corvette cockpit.
for me high weapon placement even slightly above the corvette cockpit breaks when warping into a system and doing a saving civilian freighters, docking to get the reward and then leaving the freighter via corvette.
I'd worry about placing corvette guns to where it aims best for you
may I ask within your royal eagle build, which part did you use the offset and rotation glitches? I'm trying to do something similar with the wings

almost everything on the wings are offset

Taking name suggestions for my new patrol corvette. Preferably something menacing and/or intimidating
piece on the edge is offset into that little wing tip piece behind it to blend better. piece to the left of the thruster is jist the same one on the edge upside down offset up in height
the reversed arcadia wing modules (near where the engines are) help slope the wings towards the back

So for the last month and a half I've been using the first corvette.,only been playing for 2 months or so. Called it Rock Lobster and as much as I like how she looks she drives like a bus and parks like a aircraft carrier. Tried many different designs and almost all have the same problems. Finally came up with a design that I like, turns on a dime and can park on a dime.
Your agility issue isn't in the ship design, it's your tech inventory layout. You seem to be almost completely ignoring adjacency effects. You could be getting three to five times that maneuverability score if you just shuffled your techs around.

No. Only glitching and offset placing.
It's definitely possible to make some pretty interesting designs with just the basic vette building options. Step one is "abandon all reason".

I built this one with the concept of doing something a bit absurd, and it actually came out better than I was expecting. Everything done in just the standard corvette builder terminal. Just don't climb around on it if you see it. It likes to trap people for some reason.

I need more parts for something like that, which means more farming my scrap planet
Some tips if you didn't know: You can use your freighter to scrap farm REALLY quick. Just hover, exit your seat, and scan for scrap. Then fly to it, hover again, and use the cyclotron weapon on the scrap. Even if it's buried several Us down, the explosion radius will hit it and pop it. It took maybe 40 minutes to get everything I needed to build the above design.
Just be aware that when scanning, if you try to mark something and there's an interactable item on your ship that you're looking at, it will interact instead of marking the target.
I'll usually have a totally empty small hab directly behind the cockpit specifically to avoid this issue.

Is there a build in corvette sharing? I have not been on in a couple weeks.
No but if you add windows outside of corvette editing mode and then go into it then those windows will be added as part of the count limit; I noticed this on a recent test build.

Oh, yeah. You'll be fine with decorating. The only "decoration" that counts toward part limit is windows. Everything else that can be put in there, you can go nuts
Does anyone think a maneuverability of 1588 is good for The Focus of Infinity?
Not bad. I think it caps at 3600, regardless of what the number says. You could probably get more out of it by messing around with adjacency of parts/better parts/supercharged slots, but 1588 is decent.
Have you classed it up to S yet?
Yeah, I did adjacency, and S-Class, and Supercharging.
Lemme check one of mine. I think 1588's pretty good, but I might be wrong. I know I've seen people put out some absurd numbers, even though it caps at 3600.

1588 is way above what my corvette's doing, though I pushed hyperdrive more than maneuverability.
You're definitely doing well on that. I can get just shy of 1450. Probably just the specific tech I have.
This cursed B type engine i have as decoration... It doesn't seem to matter what I do, it always replaces an A class that would make things way better.
You can probably delete the decoration engines save and then re added them to shift the order

Damage potential's a little odd with vettes.
compared with my living ship, I'd say I'm good on shield too
It seems low compared to starships, but you have to remember that starships only have the two weapon points.
So any one weapon turret is weaker, but you have many of them on a vette
I mean, I designed the ship to be a sort of space camper anyway
It's pretty solid for that purpose. Good range for sure

Holy moly! I got that fixed and my maneuverability jumped from 1494 to 2147!
Not bad. If you have parts you might pop off those top mounted weapons, put in some diffusers on the front of the habs, then reset the weapons. They should still work if you use the right parts

Yeah, I don't have access to stuff that would blend nice on the second tier... but she's rocking four photons, one in a supercharge slot, and that deadeye cannon
she's mostly built with stuff I had and could buy up front.
I think technically only 3 of any weapon type actually count. Might relocate one photon and delete another, then slap on some other weapon
she gets a little wide when you look at the backside.

both of her reactors and her four shield generators are crammed in hidden compartments.
the shield generators are in a cool little ring formation all facing into one empty box.
The good news is that now that you have a functional corvette, it's a lot easier to find new parts. You don't have to land and exit your ship to scan anymore. Just get out of the seat, look around, and find salvage scrap. Then you can just pull up over the target and shoot at it until it pops...unless it's buried deep.
The Salvation from Sanity was built with parts I collected in about 45 minutes by doing that.

yeah. You can just exit the seat in flight and use your visor to look around while still inside the ship.
The vette will automatically stop and hover until you get back in the seat
yeah, noticed that when doing the deep space salvage hunts
So if you see a planet that says "Salvageable Scrap" (it's something like that, idk offhand), go down and exit your seat. Look around for this icon. Mark it, fly to it, then just shoot at it with your vette. It'll pop and give you parts.
I becomes even more efficient once you find a cyclotron because the explosion radius is pretty big, so it's way harder to miss
I don't know how the Deadeye compares to the Cyclotron...

You might need to use an external of some kind to do that. NMS Base Builder might allow it

The Breach expedition reruns at the end of the year at that point you can do it to get the blueprints for the Aeron parts; i would suggest preparing for it by watching old guides on it since it's the only way to get aeron blueprints unlocked

IF there is it's not posted here; I would suggest checking out if people post that in #nms-lfg-or-trades where you can find people looking for that or i'd suggest looking up Corvette meetup videos on youtube and see if there is a dedicated discord for that
I'd suggest looking around on youtube. Search stuff like NMS Meetups. There's one called Coffee and Corvettes. You can sign up in the comments to get the location of the event.
