holy.... i just figured out how to fix it atleast for me. place a exoskiff swim under it and press your face agasint it and then look around and it suddenly let me place it around XDDD

ive just been through all those steps last week to get the Atlantium drive
it seems to wait for a quiet time to pop the quest like when pulsing if you have nothing else happening

lol its just really finnicky hopefully they fix the water landings soon
again, you will encounter it somewhat immediately, within around a minute of pulsing
as long as all the requirements are met the quest will pop

well returning to it via portal places you at the portal, not at the structures you were thinking of
unless you manually traversed back to those

not all planets have at least 1 pillar, but where you find one, you should be able to find others. remember, same planet, diff pillar, same tool, same class

I'm just wondering bc I'm using it as a POI for where I wanted to build. There was a sentinel pillar literally right next to it but when I scanned for one using a chart, it wasnt there so I think theres more than one on this planet I'm on

Yeah, basing location off of chart usage is definitely not going to always bring you to the same structure
only way to make sure you're seeing diff pillars would be through latitude+longitude coordinates, no question with that

you mean that you thought you had to go all the terminals, to the last terminal in the engineering room for it? the engineering room terminal can drop on your choice a freighter inventory upgrade item (called cargo bulkhead), or a freighter upgrade module (e.g. for freighter hyperdrive, fleet combat, fleet trade etc), or corvette parts, or nanites; it doesn't drop salvaged frigate module. salvaged frigate module just drops from random crates inside (when we're lucky)

nah, just buy coords from the scrap dealer. afaik, the personal refiner trick still works: pop the scanner to activate it, put it in your exosuit personal refiner, then pulse. it will prevent game from taking it from you when you open the door

just unlock personal refiner mk2 from anomaly exosuit research npc, cheap enough and worth every nanite

The only real difference is the chances for certain biomes around yellow stars
The green hologram is a lush galaxy, the red hologram is a harsh galaxy, the blue hologram is an empty galaxy and the teal hologram is a normal galaxy

New heads as in the Autophage head options? They are exclusive to the Autophage race

Only the Autophage has new heads, which you purchase from them. Most of the heads for quicksilver are only for the Anomaly species
And the locked heads?
Some are from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion aboard the Space Anomaly, others are unlocked from missions like Under a Rebel Star, Dreams of the Deep, there are also a few fishing-related heads and vile brood heads
some are also from previous Community Expeditions, which cannot be done anymore outside of unofficial means on PC #nms-questions message

If you previously completed the community expedition that awarded what you want, go grab them from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion aboard the Space Anomaly
If you did not complete the relevent expedition (besides Expedition 21: Remnant which should rerun at the end of this year), then you can't do it again/obtain the rewards outside of unofficial means on PC #nms-questions message

they don't occur in a uniform manner like that, but they do indeed go on for many miles

We can't redo past expeditions, outside of the reduxes they do, but those are only for the current years' expeditions at the end of the year

uhmmmm i claimed a new settlement and it says the construct overseer buliding is done and to do new things at the terminal. but i never built the building?? the only teminal i have for the settlement is the hub one that just shows the stats how do i fix this?

its just Reallly Long. trust me. it ends.

Guys im tryna build my own space ship and also i hesrd that i can use dissonant planets or something to get the stuff i need to make my space ship is that whag im looking for ( also completely of topic but while i was writing this i was above the planet and it just said "hostil scan detected" scarred tf out of me lol)
You can find sentinel ships on Dissonant planets that you can salvage for units to buy other ships to get the parts from, but you can't get ship parts directly from those types of ships. You can only make Fighter, Hauler, Explorer, and Solar type ships

Extreme worlds only have Activated Stellar Metals
Every planet in a purple system will have either quartzite or activated quartzite (which you can refine into quartzite)
you can refine activated quartzite to normalo quartzite?
It is the only stellar metal you can do that with, specifically because of this mission
due to the very small chance that all of the worlds in your first purple system having Activated Quartzite, but this is very rare as only 33% of purple system worlds that can have storms will be extreme
especially with Gas Giant systems, which always have 5 moons

The issue is sentinels pouring out of the space station due to being too close, and sometimes bugging out the wave end due to that
No. It means that at least one world in it has oceans
The "Water" tag is visually overridden by the "Dissonant" tag if both are present on the same system
"Waterworld" is a biome of planet that's exclusive to Purple Star Systems #nms-commands message
which all of them also contain at least one dissonant world, so they'll never visually show the Water tag

Then you weren't far enough away from the space station.
even when far away enough, you may need to go through 11x2 ships (the first 11 that spawned because you repeatedly shot the station, and then a few more of the actual wave reenforcements) - and it will take a few seconds for it to turn wanted level 5 when you do
when shooting the space station just once, the waves occur normally but begin at wave 2 instead of wave 4

every time I've tried to shoot at it more to skip waves 3 and 4, it's taken way longer and/or bugged out
also every time I'd do that was one of the few times where my ship's shields got anywhere close to dropping, but that's probably due to combat scaling
or it starts at wave 1, I forget
but I do remember that destroying a sentinel interceptor between the Sentinel Capital Ship blowing up and the sentinel interceptors escaping will set your wanted level instantly to 2, acting as a quick way to repeat it

How do I get corvette parts outside of buying from the space station terminal? I’ve seen a ton that look to use a lot of parts I’m not seeing in those shops
most players get them from salvageable scrap containers (see image) - can use some of these to barter for parts you want from the workshop (advanced modules)

what kind of purposes do you guys like to use your corvettes for compared to your usual starship? it kinda feels to me that once you build a corvette, the utility of the starship becomes obsolete. unless youre using it as like a size/agility advantage point which is understandable
i havent built one yet but it seems like you can customize your corvette to do everything a starship can and more

yeah, that's true. though a lot of it still is about looks, the parts the other ship types can use, the process of building a corvette might be daunting or too much for some.

I use my corvette most of the time, but I like having all my storage on hand, especially in systems where my freighter can't warp yet.
When I get Indium drive for the freighter I'll probably start looking for some proper starships

i mostly use my corvette when "autopilot sure would make it easier/faster now" or when i want to spacewalk/skydive. i'm not very good at building the ship, that's offset by me always using cockpit camera. but i tend to go on long periods of time always using the same ship - when i really fall in love with a ship, i could be using it for years in a row. this sentinel i have and could call main, has been with me since sentinel ships were added, pratically used it every play session since then. i love being able to have 12 ships + 18 archived (though we cant archive vettes) though. i might fall in love with some corvette i'll build in the future.
remember that when you do in stellar multitudes, you'll get resonance matrix, freighter's purple drive - you wouldnt need to spend that many sfm to get freighter's temporal warp computer (its indium drive equivalent)

yeah, you might need to hop through multiple camps to find the parts you want to use

idk, probably just a white lush planet with some rare subbiome like floating islands with a crazy color filter if those can even get them

Yes, from my observation white is the rarest grass color for lush worlds. I've only found 9, out of the 836 lush worlds I've documented
This is definitely intended, HG used a white floating islands lush world for the start of a semi-recent community expedition, probably to flex
it really depends from player to player. unlocking all the cosmetics, exploring and searching for weird or rare planet combos, the most beautiful or wildest terrain shapes, finding the perfect star system, exploring other galaxies, roleplay, chill, photo mode, researching mechanics, multitool hunting, fauna hunting, cooking for parties, idk - there's a lot to do.

once an exocraft is spawned on a planet, should be able to quick menu summon it to a diff position on the same planet without the geobay, but yeah, geobay is required to get it elsewhere, so that your save knows you own it. that said, i only mentioned a base because if you have to say, customize your exocraft(s), it's just a matter of going to the base instead of having to build one on the spot and delete it after. a little more convenient perhaps, and no parts out in the wild using up your base parts count without you knowing where they are either

Planets that are nearly entirely water (Waterworld biome planets) are only found in purple star systems, which are locked behind an endgame mission #nms-commands message. Planets that have water/oceans at all are not uncommon though, and can be found in all kinds of systems
also, 20% of non-waterworld planets in purple systems have ocean depths that are 3.75x as deep as normal, though this is still less than 1/3 of how deep Waterworld oceans can go
look for the water tag in the galaxy map, if it's just about any planet with water

also it maxes at like 7 words (so the A + S-Class ones are all you need, adjacency brings them up to a total of 7)

I am not 100% certain, I think it respawns after a certain length of time though (maybe 24h or so?) I don't visit my saved camps frequently, but it is usually refreshed every time I do.

No, it can't surrender at all. There's a short window where it's still not done surrendering where destroying it gives an upgrade module, but that's it. Once it's surrendered fully (mission progresses past rewards), an upgrade is not awarded for destroying it
for ship reactors, keep raising your standing with the 3 races, and keep an eye on mission boards. also, the discount on upgrade module shops includes ship reactor

Star systems can be inhabited, abandoned or uncharted. We can easily tell the difference between inhabited and uncharted, but abandoned systems are a little easier to miss. Take a look at the embedded image.

Yeah, I know, thanks. You learn words from Knowledge Stones, Monoliths, and NPCs. The translator tech just translated words you have not learned yet, so if there are say 10 words in dialogue you don;t know, it will translate some of them.

they do target nearby Sentinel Capital Ships, but they destroy it near-instantly and it awards nothing, so it's most likely unintended
the freighter turrets are useless but the pirate dreadnought is covered in laser turrets witch do engage enemies ive had mine engage a poorly timed gang of pirate and it destroyed them
Yes, other freighter types (especially Venator and Sentinel) also have these standard lasers

with a decent build, even an explorer that has no damage bonus can 1-2 shot an enemy ship in normal mode, so i'd not worry much about what your damage will be, and get more on the maneuverability side: a fighter will be a lot more maneuverable than a hauler - but any ship will do far better with a decent build on, stacking s-class upgrade modules
I just started farming modules today
I love my sentinel fighter, I use it for everything
and I went from using the default weapons to using almost top x class weapons and I saw a massive difference, wich is why I was wondering if as long as you got good modules if the class matters
hostile patrols is an aggressive sentinel presence level synonym yeah. that said, there's a way to be on those planets without having to combat them. if one spawns near you, quickly melee jetpack away till you're 50u away from it or so, check what its doing - you'll see that often that's enough to force them to lose track of you, and if you keep it within 150u of you, the game wont spawn another sentinel to surprise you.
Modules are all that matters really

there's a few strategies that can get you tens of thousands of nanites in a short amount of time, if that's what you're looking for then i'd suggest for example looking at sus packets tech/arms or salvaged glass farming, then unpack them and sell the modules for nanites.

a c-class ship with s-class modules will already be cruising. more supercharged slots though, that lets you push the build even further (C1 B2 A3 S4, adding more tech slots may be required to reveal missing supercharged slots)

you goto an outlaw station (many outlaw stations, for a loop), buy all the sus packets tech/arms from the contraband agent npc in the outlaw station, unpack, sell x-class modules that dropped for nanites at the black market dealer (upgrade module shop in the same station)

living ships have several things of note on this topic:
- they cant use regular ship techs or upgrade modules or storage augmentations, besides starship trails, figurines and atlantid drive
- living ships are always s-class
- you can farm living ship specific upgrade modules and techs, but they cant be bought from space stations or unlocked in the anomaly
!faq-livingship has pretty much all the details on that, feel free to check it out or ask some more
They follow the same rule as envoy stock, they will only respawn when the game "loses track" of the fact that you have fixed those ships. This is why harmonic camps are suggested as a source of sentinel ships, you don't have to mark each individual crash sites, you just mark the camp and it will keep giving you locations of crash sites. On rare occasions it might bring you to a site that you have cleared previously and hasn't had a chance to respawn, but you can just go back to the camp and find another spike

Minor addendum: Living ship upgrade modules are the only upgrades that you can upgrade using nanites after they are installed. Normally, ship upgrade class is fixed and cannot be changed, so it's a little easier to get S rank upgrades for your LS.

All multitools on a planet will be the same design. There are only two designs for Sentinel MTs, pistol and rifle types.
For mining, you will want an Atlantid MT
For scanning, either Experimental or Royal
For combat, Sentinel or Staff
For now though, you can install a normal mining laser on your sentinel MT to make mining even faster until you get an atlantid, because Sentinel has "Hijacked Laser" and not "Mining Laser", you can install a "mining laser" in a sentinel MT to boost its mining speed even further
Also, if you don't like the design of a sentinel MT, you can save the game at the cabinet, and then reload, see if the design changes

it's better to think of them as something to do than something to generate resources

my settlements all have a net production of over 1m per day and it still takes forever to produce goods
Settlements produce things beyond basic elemental resources -- Kelp Sacs, Living Glass, Nitrogen Salt, and many other things
would be cool if you could use settlements to like, train pilots or build customizable freighters/frigates or something
Bases with Resource Collectors are WAY faster for generating resources and income
set up a "shipyard" when your settlement reaches S class
then you can start building up your fleet from the ground up rather than just recruiting random ships
Settlements are more for alleviating boredom than anything.

That's because the cooldown is more than just "5 jumps"

The cooldown is at least 3 hours of cumulative unpaused gameplay and at least 5 warps, both since your last battle. Once both are met, your next starship warp to an inhabited system will trigger a battle
If you qualify for Pirate Dreadnought Events, 20% of Outlaw Systems and 10% of High-Conflict Systems have a property that makes them always have a Pirate Dreadnought Event occur when warped to via starship, completely ignoring/skipping the cooldown
You need nutrient ingestor to get the Fauna scanning buff from that food.
Anomalous donuts is fine, but just be ware that hexaberries cannot be grown or afk'ed so you need to hand pick them yourself
I use nectar islands because everything can either be grown as a crop or come from animals that I can afk with livestock machines, it's mostly a matter of finding such creatures
this latter mechanic is what you should be taking advantage of, as it can be redone indefinitely
So basically just warp to different Outlaw Systems until you stumble across one that always has battles, if it has a capital freighter that you don't want then move on

Ive been charging it with uranium, I found a "five fingers" metal thing and it gave 1,000+ gold and 1,000+ uranium

For future reference, you can buy upgrade modules from the tech merchants on the upper level of space stations. Each station sells each module at a different class, S-Class isn't rare but just slightly expensive. You can install up to 3 upgrade modules per type, this limit doesn't include blueprint technology

Extremely extremely unlikely due to how colossal the galaxy is
But even if it could, you can disable PvP in the network options
Definitely disable this before doing quicksilver missions with other players, and be weary about other players bringing you to their bases that are on worlds with activated stellar metals listed (i think volcanic worlds are mainly used for that)

No Man's Sky is not a PvP centric game, most consider any non-consensual engagement of it at all to be griefing

You can, but that costs fuel warp fuel (they use the same warp fuel as starships). Summoning via the quick menu is free and can be done from infinite distances

Summoning your freighter while on a planet is definitely one of the peak first time experiences

No, it will never be targeted by pirates and cannot be destroyed by any means
It can help you if you're being attacked by pirates while near it, but the turrets barely help and are mainly to make the battle feel less one sided
