oh, sorry - i meant, PE does its full damage when up close; when further away, it doesnt hit as hard, seems that some pellets miss. that said, the thing hits like a truck, 2-shot a ship through shield and hull and dead.
so for the infraknife saying it's good against hull, does that mean it does less against shields?
with high fire rate, infra doesnt really care what it is hitting tbf
it didn't specify it was weak against shields like rockets, but idk if that was intentional or not

(outside of harsh galaxies, which have a bug that prevents this in those rarely)

Yes, lush worlds can still be found in purple systems, and sentinel/storm chances are generally the same as other systems (extreme storms slightly more common than in yellow systems)

You should place all of the infraknive upgrades together so they get adjacency bonuses, and prioritise putting the weapon itself in a SC slot, like the top left hand corner

As Dissonance Detected counts as a similar thing to Aggressive Sentinels
On low On-Foot Combat options, they can display as Paradise due to that internal Aggressive Sentinels being removed
All dissonant worlds were once Aggressive Sentinel worlds I believe, they are just overrides

I cant test going frame by frame, my game doesnt like going to 60
could also test by shooting at a pirate dreadnought or sentinel capital ship, the damage difference would be obvious
the Q-Resonator already nearly triples the Infra-Knife Accelerator's damage
I shot a space station and counted each zero that showed up, 11 without Qres on SC slot and 14 with Qres on SC slot nvm i miscounted, i only got one extra zero when Qres was supercharged
Although, even if supercharging does increase the shot count i think placing an upgrade into the SC slot would still be a better idea
Increasing shot count would be a very obvious damage increase if it works, unless I am misunderstanding how shot count works for infra knife
I looked it up, it actually does increase dps by a lot, it appears to do nothing but ig the thing shoots so fast its hard to make out each individual bullet especially with upscalers or frame gen. The sources i found indicate that infraknife shoots around 10-12 shots per second, with Qres its 30-36 and supercharged Qres its 40-48
If it was more beneficial to SC than the upgrades, we would have learned that many years ago

Even though it actually benefits the weapon greatly in an SC slot, its still better to place an upgrade in that SC slot than the Qres

I would suggest that don't go by visuals, but measure the time it takes to destroy a high HP target (e.g. a dreadnought) and compare the time it takes to kill it without super charging the q resonator, and another with it being supercharged, and make it so that supercharging it is the only difference (i.e. no adjacency bonus changes)
Note that if your Options > Difficulty > On-Foot Combat = Hostile, then you may never see one until you lower that
Paradise Planet/Moon is a biome name override given to lush worlds that have both No Storms and Low Sentinel Activity, as well as aren't the infested/relic variants
On-Foot Combat = Hostile makes all worlds have at least High Sentinel Activity, to the point it no longer displays on planet detail list
even worlds that bug out to have Low will still have sentinel patrols identically to High on that difficulty

it will maximize your chance of finding one, note that players who visit those planets with other On-Foot Combat options chosen would most likely see them with greater sentinel levels

Is there any way to fix the issue with base markers and points of interest on other planets flickering and moving erratically? Or at least to disable it? It's visually very annoying, and the scanner is malfunctioning as well.
To most people, lush worlds that lack storms but have high sentinel activity would be completely fine, they just don't know that exists or how to identify it
Paradise is definitely a big clickbait thing but that's what it was meant to be, a simple message to tell the player that this planet is ideal
That shouldn't be happening, so I'm not sure. If you mean scanner as in the Analysis Visor icons, switching modes can solve that issue

How do I find my perfect system
My problem is that I see the markers for my bases or points of interest as sentinel pillars from other planets permanently displayed, but the problem is that they flicker or move on my screen, even overlapping other markers. I'm new to this and want to know if this is a bug or if there's any way to disable them from my HUD. I've tried restarting, uninstalling, and reinstalling the game, but the problem persists.

Not really, somewhat common in red, green and blue systems

they are red/green/blue worlds, commonly referred to the community as "mega exotic" though they are not rare and don't always have massive flora/minerals

You just punch the glyphs in that photo into a portal on Euclid, that should land you right on the planet itself
By entering those Portal Glyphs into a portal in Euclid Galaxy #nms-commands message, after you have finished "In Stellar Multitudes" #nms-commands message which is required to reach purple star systems

A lot of things you make for quests are basically flavor, they are generally not required afterwards outside of a few instances like remembrance

Land on a planet that's in the same system as your freighter, then summon owned exocraft using the quick menu
Then possibly completely avoid Expanding the Base until you reach the point that directly guides you to do it

How does taxi work? The driver joins the passenger, they teleport to the destination, summons the anomaly from there, the passenger summons their anomaly, meet inside the instance, the passenger hops onto the drivers corvette, the corvette flies out, drops them off at local planet or space station and call it a day?

just have the passenger join the driver via the main menu
then have the passenger make a base or visit a space station to return whenever
when joining someone else, you're always brought to their system

As long as not permadeath or abandoned mode to start, anything is fine, permadeath can be quite challenging since multiple things are hitting you all at once

It's not for everyone, I find it an alright cosmic horror to a small extent of realizing the truth of the universe, but it leads into the autophage story which both unlocks new content and is pretty solid imo
All gamemodes take place in the exact same universe
Flying is so uncomfortable for me on mnk and idk it’s maybe the ship that has shit maneuverability or just the controls
All regular gamemodes can play multiplayer with each other, except for permadeath and expedition which are stuck with their own kind

I know the non-capital ships have less cargo, but seems like you can only get capital ships from those rescue missions and you can't savescum anymore.. You build them, at the Corvette Workshops aboard Space Stations. You can buy corvette modules using Units from the terminal, or salvage a larger selection of them for free from Salvageable Scrap worlds and trade those for each other at the terminal, with functional modules being worth more in the trading system
That may mean that there aren't any in the entire system you're in. Are the only worlds that aren't uninhabited in that system all moons?

habs and walkways are the only parts you can walk inside of, the cockpit is where you control the ship from and the landing bays are the ways to get in and out of the ship/beam to freighters from

When I try it since this morning I can only increase size, not decrease it. No matter what element or item I put in. PLEASE. I just wanna know if it is happening to everyone.

practically, planets are so stupidly large that I'm not sure even all 400 base comps per player would cover one

Exocrafts, which is unlocked by building geobays, but they don't feel much faster until you get 3 of their a rank engine and boost upgrades

They are, but they need the upgrades to be noticeably faster
The pilgrim is amazing early on even withoutt upgrades, assuming that you jump after boosting, that is. Nothing better than taking giant leaps with it

the melee jetpack still exists, in steep terrain I'd say using your ship is faster
also attempt sprinting+a quick melee attack+jetpack (hold jetpack) is a quick way to go short distances
After getting the exocraft terminal and hiring the specialist (it's a mission, base computer archives I think, or artemis path)
And then you unlock the rest through theanomaly with salvaded data

you probably have low maneuverability, or are using a ship type that's just clunky (hauler, shuttle)
im using the one thats given to me idk rlly when im supposed to like get a new one or upgrade
you can improve maneuverability by installing pulse engine upgrade modules, bought from space station starship tech merchants
The starting ship is low-key quite a decent shop
these can be packaged and re-installed on other ships later
Each station sells them at differenct classes, S-Class ones aren't rare but just a bit expensive
I would get exclusively S class upgrades, the other ones arent worth it
you can have up to 3 of each type of upgrade module installed, this doesn't count blueprint tech

it's better to play expedition due to rewards from milestones instead of phases, for example singularity engine from exp 8
Singularity Engine isn't a milestone reward though, it's just on the freighter if I recall
Many mods are not compatible with vortex, plus it gave me some error a while back too. Some mods don't go in the mods folder but rather are a .dll next to the .exe for example

Blueprint technology all have a fixed function, and are installed using resources. Upgrades have semi-random stats that usually are basic improvements, and are bought from space stations usually and instantly installable
how do you switch which starships inventory to look into
if i try to choose another ship via x menu, it just says that its already docked to the freighter
and going down into the hangar each time i wanna switch inventories sucks
No work around for that, the only time you don't is when the hangar doesn't have your ship rendered so when you switch it doesn't spit out that error
But if it is, you gotta trek down to it every time

You need to salvage existing ships for their parts
And if you want a particular version of a part, you need to salvage a shop with that exact part
Also, parts between different classes of ships are not interchangeable at all, so you cannot, for example salvage any parts of a Hauler ship and use that for say a fighter part

You can find them as wrecks, which you can claim for free but you would need to repair them, some are more difficult to repair than others.
As an early game unit farming, I suggest finding a harmonic camp on a dissonant planet, and use that to repeatedly find crashed sentinels to repair and scrap for units
Though getting a better shop in the beginning is nowhere near as important as getting upgrade techs for your ships instead

You'd want suspicious packages for weapons and tech. Goods don't have X class 0ackages
but if you don't want to travel to Pirate systems you can find landed pilots or wave at passing starships on a planet to make them land, they sell them
also pirates drop suspicious packages when killed in space
A landed pilot is good if you can catch them, but in terms of getting any decent amount of them quickly, pirate stations are much faster
this is even better than suspicious packages as you can choose what to buy

A little confused. I saw in my pet slots that there were two additional pages of locked positions. I went ahead and unlocked all of them costing a ton on nanites only to find I can't use them for pets. Anyone know what the purpose of those slots are?
with eco scanner, it's often just a matter of patience - some areas of regions are more packed with outlaw systems than others
you should be able to use them for pets, but the game "decides" which slot a new pet will go into
you cannot move pets around from slot to another slot, and you cant manually decide which slot to adopt a pet into
iow, when you have 30 pets, those slots will all be used up
that's odd, they should though, ofc if looking at a suitable system. certain ship has economy scanner fully installed?
I have heard that we are limited to 18 pets and was glad to see two more pages. However, in the quick menu there is still only three paws to scroll through not five like the pets page shows. I tried to adopt another pet but was told I was full.
that doesnt sound right. first though, more pages in the quick menu will open when you actually have more than needed pets for the game to make use of 5 sub pages there. trying to adopt another pet and getting an error that you're full, that sounds like a bug, i've not experienced that one. what platform are you on? limit should be 30 on all plats atm - did you try adopting a diff creature?
try to save+reload/save+restart if you havent yet, then try again adopting

Personally, since you are hopping space stations, you may be better off hopping pirate stations, buy suspicious packages, sell the tech for nanites and use the nanites to upgrade an MT to s rank
you could look at nmsce.com, i'm sure there's multiple finds there with s-class cabinets. if you dont have the glyph set+purple stars unlocked yet, then you could get taxied (though not to purple stars, since they're quest locked) that said, if you'd still like to try a bit more on your own:
- there's a lot of cabinets in a system - not just the one in the station - there's hundreds of minor settlements in a system
- farming the 85k nanites (on normal mode) to class upgrade a tool you like is often faster than finding a s-class natural - what Frostburn mentioned for example
just use either alien charts or exocraft with the power resonator tech upgrade to find korvax monoliths

Also, whenever you are hunting for S ranks of anything metallic, make sure you avoid any stars with a level 1 economy, because those will never be able to spawn S ranks naturally barring ezotics

- dont supercharge pilot interface, no benefit
- you've got 3 adjacent slots in a row to the right side of the grid, that will do just fine.
- try to make squares with tech and upgrade modules of the same type. for example, in the image, i've moved the core infraknife tech to a supercharged slot, the x-class infra module to one as well, and boxed up the two remaining slots where you'd place 2 more x-class infra knife modules. that said, s-class is recommended, the better-than-s x-class rolls can be time consuming to get, so unless you're really trying to max out as much as possible
- that said, if you wanted, you can ignore the "try to make squares" advice, and just use all 4 SC slots for infra tech and 3 x-class modules regardless of their positions

yep. move techs and modules of the same type into adjacent slots: for example, the photon cannon module to an adjacent slot to sentinel cannon. supercharging crimson core is quite beneficial. again, dont supercharge pilot interface

- dont hoard stuff you dont need to survive or for quest progression
- be patient after completing a quest or mission step/stage - keep observing the screen for the next instructions, which are often a combination of notifications mid or top right of the screen, and tooltips lower right of the screen
- these tooltips can be of general info, but more importantly, also tied to whatever mission we have selected in the Log. can force cycle those tooltips by spam pressing H or dpad left
- open options menu, goto network settings, disable pvp.
- keep progressing awakenings into alone amidst the stars and beyond that, the game hasnt fully opened up yet

- if you need some quick cash to buy materials from trade terminals and npc pilots, feel free to sell some salvaged data (analysis visor>buried tech module; wifi like icon) at first, and if you see planets with ancient bones or salvageable scrap on the resource list, those can be nice to farm some pocket cash
- buying materials like dust and plates etc means less time spent farming them manually
- dioxite can refill life support too

yeah, that's when at least you're able to get access to most of the "mandatory" blueprints that can really help smooth things along
probably not, especially if ship feels comfortable in maneuvering when dogfighting
be sure to have plenty of material/shield batteries to refill your ship shields (or phase beam) and you should be good

you'll be attacking a freighter basically, but there's cannons, other ships will most likely spawn to help defend it/attack you
dont let shields drop too much, or you risk getting ship tech damaged

x-class infra module? well, they can drop from sus packets tech - but remember that when you do find a shop that sells them, you can save+reload to restock the shop after buying one
if you portaled to the right address, and from the right galaxy - look at the planets discovery fauna list in your game, have you scanned all fauna on the list, or are you still missing some?

I didn't get an error. I went through twice to be sure I didn't fat finger it and came out in the same place. I also checked another image I got from a different post and they matched.

well, original poster could have been using terrain mods, that's a possibility. usually when someone posts a find such as this, they're making sure that the address matches. but how old is this post?

well, i dont mind checking it out - but did you open the fauna discovery list in your discoveries menu, and made sure you had scanned all the fauna species possible on the planet? because "i scanned all nearby" doesn't mean you scanned all on the planet. you might have been in the north, and the creature you needed scanning could only spawn in the south for example

It is possible that I didn't scan all. I normally walk a ways to be sure but with the terrain so different I wasn't too aggressive in looking. I also didn't find any flying creatures.

anomaly teleporter has a featured base in eissentam; use it to get there if you dont have any destination available there already, then find a portal as usual, then dial that address

if you dont want to use exocrafts, just pop alien charts
You can buy charts with navigation data that do similar things, though
It is such a pain to have to go to my Colossus to scan.

buy alien charts from cartographer exchanging nav data for it, 3 should do the trick for sure, might not need to use the 3 but if you dont pop a monolith marker on first alien chart you use, look at the flowchart i posted
I played this game a whole lot back in 2022, when taming creatures was added. I remember finishing expedition 6, but when I came back to the game recently, with the addition of the new xeno arena, I noticed my save was gone, in addition to being unable to redeem the past expedition rewards on my new character. I always thought these rewards were linked to my steam account, and not save file. Is there any way for me to get those rewards back?

those unlocks are currently stored in a file on your save folder on your disk called accountdata.hg - not tied to your steam account.
in short, you're on pc, you can either save edit to reunlock them to fix, use a couple mods to be able to cleanly unlock them using quicksilver shop itself for free, or rerun old expeditions offline - check pinned posts in #nms-modding
not sure if accountdata.hg was a thing back in 2022
that said, if steam cloud is enabled and didnt download any cloud backup down when you started up again recently, then you'll just have to start over basically and reunlock stuff

Having trouble with this quest. I followed the way point, and it led me to a "station" but there was just empty fields. I tried to locate my own station and nothing triggred upon arrival. I even went to another system but it states as such. Any advice on how to proceed this mission?

in short, storage augs drops, see image; other drops are going to be upgrade modules (same class of the ship that got scrapped), and items/resources to sell for units

yeah. that said, keep this in mind:
- if you scrap a certain ship in any class, scrapping that same ship again in the same class will always drop the same number of storage augs
e.g. scrapped <ship name here> at C-class, didnt drop any - no point buying that ship in C-class again to scrap
And I abuse the F out of that, but it's a different topic for another day

Whenever you scan something new, money is added to your account
okay so. scanning for units. we dont need any additional techs from the anomaly for this, but we'll want to buy 3 s-class visor upgrade modules from space station upgrade module shops. then just install all 3, and supercharge them if you got any supercharged slots that you can use. remember that save+reload restocks upgrade module shops. i often make my nanites through zoology.

Yes, that is the long and short of it, but it has to be exact same ship and class. The reverse is also true. If a C class gave you an augment, then all C class versions of that ship will drop an augment
Also, am I just extremely unlucky that all shops I visit only have B and C class scanner mods?

np. that said, there is a tech in the anomaly that you could make use of to, on top of it all, buff those unit scans through the roof. it's called nutrient ingestor, and there's various foods that can buff scanning rewards that we can consume with it.

There's also the Star Seed, which also gives +1 core health, and they synergise to give +3 in total, up to a max of 9
it is required to interact with remembrance lore terminals, but it wasnt actually required to install it after completing main story (we can just abandon that install mission)
Entirely up to you whether you want to keep it
there's other sources of HP, e.g shield, sentinel modules if needed, and it's easy to max out

well, it's a tech blueprint you learned, you dont have to store it, could just reinstall it again later on. nms really isnt the kind of game that's going to punish you like that either

Hello, this is driving me crazy. I have verified integrity of system files and I'm having issues locating some cache file that may fix it? Steam version, just bought last night.
Is this normal lol, it's blinding me and the plantes looks fuzzy and odd?
I cant even go by visuals in the first place as the bullets stack visually. The base infraknife shoots 1 bullet per round alternating left wing and right wing, with Qres it shoots 1 from each wing simultaneously with a 3rd shot that alternates left wing right wing, when Qres is supercharged the infraknife shoots 2 from each wing simultaneously. TLDR Qres in an SC slot adds a 4th shot to each round
could be due to antialiasing option you're using maybe
iirc, unless this changed recently or something, supercharging q-res didnt actually lead to higher damage
