if that doesn't prompt the "turning in mission" screen, you can turn in these missions at the mission board aboard space stations
You can use your starship, go into upper atmosphere, then aim your ship at the marker and pulse
Possibly try seeking them on a different dissonant planet, as extremely mountainous ones will struggle to spawn them

The only free freighters in the game are the very first one you rescue and accept (as long as you haven't purchased one already), and outlaw freighters when you meet the requirements for those

Do frigate expeditions ever return with stellar metals?
Mainly activated ones I think
um, how do I get more tech slots for my corvette? Currently the shields, weapons etc. are occupying every slot and I want to upgrade the hyperdrive, get recharging thrusters and water landing gear
same way as you get more slots for your regular space ship. You can use the Storage Augmentation, or buy new slots on the station
just make sure you're clicking on the free space in your tech area, while upgrading those slots
the game might default to enlarging your cargo sometimes
I feel like every time I do frigate missions they get damaged
it's annoying fixing all of them
We can have up to 4 settlements, all in the same galaxy if you wish

Make sure you never send them on a mission which has a higher star rating (difficulty) than your fleet, and you should be good
It's usually the same or lower and they always come back damaged
it's annoying as hell trying to repair like 6 of them

the class of your frigate doesn't matter, you only need to check those two parameters:

it probably won't unlock the blueprint, but you should be able to duplicate them

Using portable refiners. Simply put an item inside, then create a second portable refiner and try to place it so it overlaps the first one, as closely as possible, then remove both refiners and you should have 2 copies of your desired item now

It's fine. If you don't have the blueprint unlocked on that particular save, you won't be able to get infinite copies of the item, even on creatvie mode. That's basically what i meant π

I'm a big fan of fighters with an infra-knife
with 3x S-class upgrades, and the B-class blueprint, the infraknife cuts straight through them before you even expend half of your shield buffer
i have one with the sails with these stats:
500 dmg
304 shield
870 hyperdrive
1255 mobility
i decided to only upgrade that because it reminds me of the N1 starfighter
if you hover over your Photon cannon (and/or other weapons) you'll see more detailed stats for your weapons
my photon cannon is the best
I would be more comfortable if you first looked into getting 3 shield upgrades and 3 photon cannon upgrades, preferably all S-class, should you be able to afford them

for the atlas eternal quest, how many atlas interfaces do i have to go to to give discoveries?

should be 10 interfaces, each teaching you an item recipe for something you'll need to complete the next step

For the atlantid, does the runic lens count as the mining laser then? I see I can install the normal mining laser, thats why Im asking
installing mining beam on the side of runic lens/hijacked laser will just buff them even more
it's one of the reasons how sentinels can get to have very reputable mining performance, despite that low innate bonus compared to atlantid

well, if resource harvesting was your goal then you'd certainly want optical drill SC'd. if damage/etc was your primary goal then you'd SC 2 modules. in both cases you'd SC RL and MB
2 questions:
- if you discover a planet will it always register under your name regardless of which save it is and the type of save?
- i believe the answer is yes, but if you discover a planet but don't upload it, then someone else discovers it, names it, and uploads it, will it be registered under the second person's name?
Is there anyway to save aeron pieces? Because when I delete them from the build I don't get them back in my inventory
If you upload the planet/s, I think it does hold your name forever, if you move on without uploading, I believe it doesn't save and resets to being unmapped

because crafting=free makes it so you never spend resources to craft/build, therefore no resources to refund
has that "side effect" with corvette parts that can be crafted though
s-class freighter is really only a thing to aim for if you wanted to make a max warp range build, or really needed to upgrade to 120 cargo

Should I settle for an A-class Freighter, or keep battling RNG for the S-class?
Mostly up to the player, but in short, the differences between A-class vs S-class Capital Freighters (including Pirate Dreadnought):
- 3 vs 4 supercharged slots;
- 50+100 vs 60+120 max inventory upgrade limit;
- Slightly lower ranges vs Slightly higher ranges to base bonuses;

a higher class freighter wont have a bigger base build area and summoning freighter never uses fuel though. but i understand wanting one. well, you'll certainly have more opportunities later on

so annoying
class drop chance is affected by system economy tier, so the best you could do was to farm a freighter in an outlaw system (highest drop chance for s-class, 5%)
Pirate systems have a 5% chance of giving S class's, and since you want a dreadnaut, it should be really easy to do the restore point strategy. Do you know what that is?

ime not all planets are that dark at night, but tbh, i do prefer darker nights than what we had before, when they were super bright

case in point: corvettes: lots of people wanted to have a ship they could transport friends in
For freighters, you can travel to a system you know has a dreadnaut, finish the battle, enter the dreadnaut, use the Visor to quickly see which class it is, and if it isn't an S class, you can go to options and press restore point, and it will take you back to your last restore point.
You can then once again travel to that dreadnaut system, fight, rinse and repeat. This is because the class of freighters from those battles gets rerolled every time you jump, so enough times of repeating that, will eventually land you an S class
Thats the quickest strategy to obtaining at least S class freighters

or in sentinel pillar's case, fixed per planet

this item is actually useless. someone added this via a save editor, and then transferred it to you, but there's no way for us to use these items. just discard.

well, this would only really work for plants native to that biome (see image), or if you had a base building mod that ignores the biome restrictions (in which case you wouldnt need to bury the dome)
yes, since you'll be on pc, you'll be able to experience it all - if you wanted to unlock the old expedition corvette parts, there's more than 1 way to do that (officially, you'd have to wait for the devs to bring them back)

Does the hijacked laser cause significant damage to enemies, or is it like purely for mining?
if you're on pc, this would be easy and fast to fix using a save editor (simply find that parts id in the json editor, confirm that it's on a corvette base layout code, and delete it - but there's probably also some mod that would let you phase through station walls to delete it

you can goto other galaxies by core warping yes, or using the anomaly teleporter to goto other player bases in diff galaxies, or even just get taxied to a diff galaxy

I've been using glass floor and was wondering if thats contributing to it
like all the missing biodomes actually exist in the image, they've just not loaded in.

Playing in a group can cause one or more players to experience issues or bugs when progressing quests, such as the main Storyline. Some of these issues are listed below.
- Waypoints not appearing on the HUD;
- Waypoints moving or jumping planets when you get close;
- Destinations being thousands of lightyears away;
- Quest destinations fail to provide the correct dialogs for the current stage;
- Primary ship getting accidentally reskinned to a different ship;
- Getting trapped on the other side of a portal;
- Getting trapped in a star system without access to both an hyperdrive or a teleporter/Space Station.
Some of the above issues can be difficult or even impossible to fix with just in game steps. Already having access to the Space Anomaly can help in some cases, but it's generally best to ignore quest progression when playing in a group.

yep. you most likely were playing/joined a friend at some point, and your mission is now basically somewhere near the location where they were. suggestion: either start a new save (it's basically still in the first mission), or wait for that friend to come back online, join them again, hopefully in the same system you were playing before

does the game autosave or do i have to go somewhere first
there's occasionally autosave, but you can also save restore point at save beacons, save points, waypoints, or when exiting your ship
the game does autosave on some occasions, but also every minute if you've moved recently. that said, there's another save slot you have more control of, which is the restore point save slot. you shouldnt neglect updating restore point just because you have an auto save. see this post <#nms-commands message>
how does handing in data work? when does it reset? what if i don't hand in today's data?
It auto saves frequently. But you can also make manual saves everytime you exit your ship or interact with a save beacon

think that's once per day right, and i dont think it stacks to the next day but i've not tried it myself recently
you mean corvette ship type? as soon as you have access to the space stations, and when you either got the cash to buy basic parts to build the corvette (you can farm and add more parts to it later), or you farm parts from various loot sources e.g. salvageable scrap planets
A corvette? As soon as you get onto your first space station. Although it is not cheap (4-6mil for basic parts) so I'd advise looking for planets with Salvageable Scrap status and trying your luck getting some parts there

How do i place corvette modules at an angle? Like certain wing parts being placed to face at an angle instead of straight forwards?
whats happening here? how does my ship get more range than the upgrade suggests. will all 3 hyperdrive upgrades i get 1700 ly. my sentinel ship starts with 600 ly vs 180 for the squid, but doesnt max out as far

Is the atlantid multi tool supposed to never overheat?
Hey so what exactly is the point of the starship teleport receiver if it only works within an extra few steps of the ship? If I go much further than this then I can't access my starship anymore
supercharging the module buffs it, and also the way innate bonus is added to the calculation - sentinel ships only have like 10LY innate bonus, while exotics go up to 95 iirc

Hm, yea, I was just wondering because I was demolishing sizeable plants, as well as di-hydrogen deposits with my tool. I was using an A class rifle before and it wasnt nearly as quick or lucrative, so maybe its the difference between literally garbage and a shiny polished diamond?
I'm currently trying to get max fuel efficiency upgrades onto the tool, but the x class doesn't seem to want to get high fuel efficiency AND mining speed, so if the runic lense has damage boost similsr to overheating another MT, I would probably find the efficiency more useful
rifle basically has no mining innate bonus - that helps atlantid tremendously by comparison. installing mining beam on the side just pushes it even further lol

in short cant tell completely from the galaxy map - so if you go to a gek/korvax/vykeen dissonant system, and the only dissonant planet(s) in that system has gold or rusted metal on the list, then that system wont have sentinel ships
yeah if we pop an echo locator and it fails, that means there's no sentinel ships in the system
When I visit a Korvax Monolith there is something i'm carrying on have acquired that triggers the Atlantid pedestal to appear ... and is it possible to take off to have that NOT happen

once we complete they who returned mission, all korvax monoliths have discordant interfaces visible, and they'll pop out of the ground to be interactd with when close enough to, similar to how portals are; once charged, they override monolith's default dialog to be autophage related
so DO NOT activate the pedestal before interacting with the Monolith is probably my issue then.
I'm also checking the pedestal for a hype gun
yeah, if you're activating the discordant interface first, that's your problem. i mentioned this already actually

so you got new beginnings mission in your mission Log now? not if you cant reload back, it's a once per save decision - which normally people can't (too late when they ask already). in short, dont worry about it. if you're in a diff galaxy now, you can just teleport back to your bases etc. drop and claim a bse comp in the new galaxy if you want to be able to teleport back.

yes, but harmonic camps arent the same as autophage camps. harmonic camps can appear in abandoned systems, but not in uncharted systems. a system that isn't dissonant can still have autophage camps

personally, since nutrient ingestor +resources mined buff, i dont mind getting dihydro from just crystals on a planet - but here's another advice, keep an eye on trade terminals and npc pilots - some of them sell dihydro jelly in bulk. buy it all, refine to dihydro

you mean corvettes? well, if you wanted, you could farm a few parts every session, store them all in the workshop till you got enough to put a barebones ship together and start flying it, and upgrading it etc. can always add more parts to the ship later

Is the Corvette better or a S tier sentinel?
Corvette is more multipurpouse, but Sentinel is more manuverable, surely
Corvette can be stronger in terms of weaponry as well, but has hauler base stats so is slow in atmosphere and harder to maneuver
also, you can upgrade any non s-class ship to s-class. you cant really build a corvette that has the looks of a sentinel - and that's the huge difference, the looks and the feels. after upgrades, any ship type you want to use can do the game no problem - even a shuttle

@swift mesa anytime. btw, when you're refining something, dont leave refiners unattended - stick by them till they're finished, and if you got to leave before they're done, stop them, take the resources out first. there's a bug that can happen that makes it lose resources

not really, they're pretty good. dont forget that we have phase beam, which can shield leech off enemy ships, not to mention that maneuver sentinels get when boosting

With big enough guns, you don't need a shield.

yeah, their agility bonus is applied with a large percentage going to boost and a small percentage going to core maneuver - which is why they dont turn as snappy etc when dogfighting, compared to fighter or exotic for example
So when not boosting, exotics are more maneuverable, and when boosting, sentinels are more maneuverable?
well, not sure about that specific comparison. but iow, if you wanted top control when dogfighting, you'd take the exotic, because you probably wont be boosting at all when dogfighting, just turning and turning to get them in your sights.

there's an innate bonus on ships literally called agility. it's applied with different weights, so to speak, to core maneuverability and boost maneuverability of ships. boost maneuver is ofc, their handling when boosting. a sentinel gets at max stat a 50 agility buff. let's say that on them, 90% of that value is added to boost maneuver, and only 10% to core maneuver.
using commercial planetary charts, and remembering that charts cannot mark the same POI type twice at the same time in the same system

yeah, just remember that when you're aiming at another ship, that you dont own and dont have equipped, meaning a npc ship for example, the visor wont show you that ship' s stats (with the exception of hyperdrive)

@swift sand Is it okay if a frigate has exactly 4 expeditions, or is 4 the surefire precipice of not being the best for leveling up?
there's some kind of bug with frigates hired with the exact number of expeditions needed for a rank up - i'd recommend staying away from frigates hired with exactly 4, and go for one with less than 4. (expanding that, you'd not be recommended to hire any frigate with 4, 8, 15, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 expeditions completed)
a rank up is when a frigate gets upgraded: if there's a negative trait it is removed, if not a positive is added, and it always gets more base points added (to combat, trade, etc)
when a frigate gets to 5 positive traits it becomes s-class
when a frigate gets to 55 completed expeditions, it is done evolving.

without modding you cant tame actual flying creatures, the best you can tame that hover some meter above the ground are beetles and something similar to butterflies

They help by being extra targets for opposing fighters to shoot at, and may help with sentinels by stopping their shield regeneration, but apart from that, I haven't found them to be too helpful, a fully equipped sentinel ship is more than capable of defeating sentinel mothership on its own without much trouble, and that's about the hardest space fight

I don't think so, but they don't do a lot of damage regardless, especially compared to a player spaceship

the simple answer is yes. the more complicated answer is, no, the extraction amount is calculated when you next log in. This is relevant only if you have some complicated or iffy wiring system that turns power on or off. Thats not simulated so the entire offline period will be assumed to be entirely on, or entirely off.
you need to specifically craft pellets. the recipe is unlocked by playing the main mission iirc.

When you have the pirate star selected, the tooltip will show a skull for it's conflict rating, and it's economy icon will have a skull beside the book icon, those two always show up next to each other and never anywhere else

It doesn't technically say anything. What I mean by that is that it asks if I'm sure, and click to salvage it, but then just nothing happens.

Well, just went back to the space station after working on some other things and this time things actually happened when I clicked the button. Might be a bug or maybe I needed to progress just a bit more? Either way, it is resolved.
Why no rocket launcher upgrades?
No idea, but there is one you can craft that is unlocked via recipe in the anomaly

in fairness there are a vast number of game bugs that are resolved by "do something else then try again later".

Forged passports read as 'reset any negative faction standing'. I lost 20 Vy'keen standing down to 323 in a couple outlaw missions then used the passport at a Vy'keen station and gained one point ending at 324. Is this bugged or misleading?
I think the password only resets from negative values towards 0
It doesn't reset to "previous value before I lost standing"
That's what it's supposed to do, as your standing wasn't negative.
If your standing is below 0, it's set back to 0. If it's 0 or above, it adds 1
negative =/= recently lost
What uses does quartzite have aside form refining it into chromatic metal and finishing the Exocraft spawner exosuit upgrade?

damage potential is a misleading stat, ignore
Yeah for starships the damage potential stats includes all weapons installed
Which is misleading because you can't fire multiple weapon types at once

There's an upgrade that says it lets u drift ur ship. From the anomaly
ignore that description, this is what it actually lets you do
meaning, you have more control over your ship as you fly, particularly when doing sharp turns in the atmosphere

Guys whats the best way to make money easy? I did the atlas path ans somewhere i reseted the simulation and i got throw to another galaxy and i need money to repair some things
If it makes things easier, you can go to any space station and use the teleporter to go back to the original galaxy

When I fly to the base archive, I get close to the planet then it disappears
and shows up on another planet in the system
and repeats that
i just closed the game so ill try again later, hopefully a relog fixes
if you mean the Flight Assist Override, all it does is reduces the automatic correction that the game does when player tries to fly their ship into an obstacle like an asteroid
normally the game does a little manuever to steer the ship away, with the module installed that effect is reduced
that's a common issue for doing quests in MP scenario
disable MP, save and reload

it is an upgrade in sense that it will boost the stats of pulse drive
So I found my first ever Gravitino Ball, had the sentinel come after me, I hid beneath the ground before it ever arrived. After a while, the game said the sentinel was heading out, but the it really isn't that far. Basically right above my head.
Is it safe for me to walk around with it on my person after the game told me the sentinel stopped it's hunt? Or is it still dangerous?

My favoured way is scrapping interceptors, the scraps are worth like 15m+ each most of the time, and can be infinitely farmed by using a harmonic camp
