How does the game determine a planets "paradise level" (for the "most perfect" wonder category)?
Cuz like a random boggy planet just took the record but it has toxic hazards n stuff
we're not (entirely) sure. it appears to be a combination of multiple things, most of which appear to be, or were at the time of that research, hidden away behind the game's exe. highest ever found was 99.5, and all of those had "nitrogen" as "atmosphere gas" (mission log>exploration guide) e.g. lush, marsh (yep). things like weather pattern (clear and normal) or presence of predators might also be a factor.
For the defense system shields, is it possible to get the max 35% shield strength in the X class, or is the core health stat always pushing the shields strength to a gaurenteed max of 34%?

I started the weekend mission at the Nexus, I got 3/4 through the mission. my game glitched out and I got stuck in a free fall. Not moving anywhere. Couldn't jet pack anywhere. After exhausting everything I could think of, I reloaded my recent autosave, but it took me back to the anomaly, and I could not restart the mission or see it again.
So I guess I'm just out of luck?

there should always be plants/rocks with salt underwater, if you find chlorine can also refine that to salt. dihydro+o2 also refines to salt.

So I'm having difficulty finishing the Awakenings "Find us, Hear us" quest. I'm literally at the last thing: Explore the planet and expand your base.

Ok so I wired my doors without a switch and I can’t get. But I have the BPs for proximity and wall switches. Can someone explain in more simpler terms. (sorry diagram didn’t make sense to me) how do I get my doors to open auto when I’m near?
You need a power inverter - power in and out (to the door) on the sides, and the proximity sensor connected to the bottom port (the proximity sensor also needs power in)
Power to proximity switch then to inverter. Power from prox switch to inverter, power from inverter to door
There are 3 power connections on an inverter and 2 on the switch

switches in the game work mostly the same as irl, electricity has to pass through the switch to the desired location. if the switch isn't active it doesn't register the circuit as being on
They go anywhere, as long as the door gets power from the power inverter
Put them wherever you want them. The switch needs to be close to the door to function to open the door

Proximity scans in a sphere, so it can face any direction and you'll be fine.
A holo door definitely avoids needing wiring to close a physical door, but even if the physical door is open all the time, it still counts as safety and your hazard protection will regenerate

Hello, just looking for some help. Idk how to make multiple storage units for one base, I have the materials but it won’t let me make more than one, I’ve made two bases (each on different planets) so far and they share the same inventory which could be useful but I need more storage
Each storage box has it's own blueprint, and must be purchased at the Anomaly, individually.
I’m trying to make it so I can switch off my teleporter. What am I missing? I currently have TP > wall switch > battery > solar panels. Have I left something out?

Some of the higher tier warp drive upgrades will both increase the range (which reduces the number of jumps needed, hence the fuel consumed) and decrease the fuel consumption per jump (further decreasing the amount of fuel used), plus the warp drive fuel isn't TOO hard to make, most planets have the materials used

I think you would really have to work at it, unless you are on the hardest difficulty levels. On Normal or Relaxed, it's next to impossible.

For nanites, my personal favourite is going to pirate controlled space station, there is a trader there that sells supicious tech and weapon packages that you can open for X ranked tech upgrades, those upgrades can be sold for nanites.

That is good. I also just buy all the packages from every vendor, then sell them right back to them. At max standing with each faction, it's a 50% discount so you double your nanites spent that way
You could break a part on your ship,. You could be on an uninhabited world and run out of fuel for your mining laser so you could not collect resources. Like I said, you'd have to work at it, but it is possible.

I know it probably seems silly but the thought of getting stranded on a planet has crossed my mind
idk, but there was a story recently makig the rounds about how a guy on a permadeath save was stranded and going to die, but someone pointed out he could scrap an upgrade to get the resource he needed when he had no other way to colelct it
I was thinking of being stuck on a planet with no atmosphere, no plants to supply carbon, but I think even then there are rocks that give carbon
so it is extremely hard to get to that point, but it is technically possible

So yeah, basically, don't worry too much about being perma stuck on planets
it was liek scrapping one of the add-ons, liek a personal refiner or some other module to get the chromatic metal or something else he needed
but like i said, it is an extremely rare situation, and only really possible on the hardest difficulties
and tbh, you can always just go to difficulty, turn on free crafting, fix whatever, and go back to normal
inventory slots hold much less (liek 500 per slot instead of up to 9999), and if you die your save is over
the harder the difficulty, the fewer resources you collect from the environment as well
i have a combined ~55hrs between two saves
and i still don't know what death does in this game
in normal modes, just a slight reset, breaks some gear, little else
what about ship death?
Permadeath is harder due to environment draining your hazard meter faster, resources stack less (a problem early on when your exosuit don't have many slots) and ships requires more fuel to launch and warp

That's my initial impression. I only played permadeath enough to get the achievement to warp through the galatic core, which isn't THAT hard to do, I haven't played that save since I have done it

However, that's the 'default' permadeath setting, it's possible to make it so that you can be on normal-ish difficulty setting with "permadeath" (the setting that deletes your save if you die)

NMS is the only game in my steam library that broke 300+ hours in one "block" (i.e. continuous game play without pivoting to another game for a while), and it did so with nearly 700 hours
It is possible to do old expeditions offline. There's a web site with pretty detailed instructions. I did the two corvette-related ones to get the Aeron parts just a couple weeks ago myself

You can either get them from other players (the aeron corvette parts are tradeable), or enable the ability to make them via save editing, or run an offline expedition generator to run through that expedition to get the ability to make them

I’ve mostly been Astroid mining for money besides selling my last two ships for money, I’ve looked up yt vids to try to make more but most of the processes seem quite complicated, any tips on how to make a lot of units? And usually your progress in future expeditions have little to no bearing on any other expeditions as you generally can't use anything in your main save file inside expedition, barring the stuff you bring into it, but expedition #21 specifically is a planet-side expedition so it matters even les
Mining Cobalt in caves is betetr than asteroids, for very early on. Ship scrapping, especially Sentinel Ships are good money. Normal ships scrap for liek 2-5m, while sentinel ships scrap for 15-60m

My personal favourite: find a dissonant planet, and hunt down dissonant resonators until you get an Echo Locator drop, use this, it will bring you to a harmonic camp.
Make a base at the camp, interact with the terminal in the harmonic camp, unlock it, and have it locate a dissonant spike, these spikes are sentinel ships, go to them, fix them, and then go back to harmonic camp, and repeat the process
each sentinel ship scraps for ~20m even at C class
In the video I watched it seemed complicated to get a sentinel ship
which is FAR more than crashed ships of S class even
For Sentinels, you want to find a HArmonic Camp, use the terminal there to locate a crashed Sentinel ship, then do the little quest to recover it. You can repeat it as well, so it's a good cash cow
I have the survey upgrade from the anomaly for my multitool, however I can't find any gas deposits.

did you change the setting on your visor?
there is a setting on your visor that looks specifically for gas deposit
It's not that complicated. Go to Harmonic Camp and find the crash site. Go to crash site. Go to Monolith to convert the brain they give you. Go back to Crash Site. That's pretty much it.
The hardest part is getting Echo Locators to find the camp in the first place

I have a singular hatred for hazardous plants. Kill them for spite. I end up with ludicrous amounts of oxygen from that.

finding mineral/gas deposits is a pain in the ass tho

Outposts are great for large vol,umes of resources, and growint plants in large quantities. Most of my bases have one biodome crammed with plants, and I can collect liek 12-18k plants with one click in most of them

You can only build a certain distance from the base computer, so what you should do is survey for resources, then put a base in the middle between them. Build the base where the resources are, rather than build a base then look for resources

Exocrafts imo is the best, but they feel slow without the engine uogrades
The new update adds the ability to scan from an exocraft now, so it's much easier
tho I have not done resource scaning from one yet myself

Pirate Dreadnoughts in No Man's Sky typically spawn after roughly 3 hours of playtime and 5 system jumps, assuming you already own a freighter. They are most commonly found by warping into outlaw (pirate-controlled) systems, which have a higher chance of triggering this battle encounter.
Also, when you qualify for them to begin spawning, 20% of all outlaw systems and 10% of all High-Conflict systems will begin a Pirate Dreadnought Event every time that they're warped to, skipping the cooldown

The chance I described is entirely separate from the regular freighter battle cooldown of 3 hours + 5 warps
it overrides the cooldown, skipping it if the system is one of those 20% of outlaw/10% of high conflict
systems that are not one of these systems require that the freighter battle cooldown of 3 hours of unpaused gameplay and 5 warps both be passed

If either of those systems are the 20% of systems that begin one every time, yes
otherwise, you would need the cooldowns to be up, in which case the cooldown would begin again upon having an encounter begin

Again, the 5 warps portion of the cooldown is completely ignored by those 20% of outlaw systems

The only thing I can see beyond that in wha you posted is you can look at a ships stats with the scanner. I don’t think that gives percentage bonus information though right?

your save will load at the last restore point you created
restore points are made automatically when you exit your ship
(among other events)
if you don't know the math problem (scan memory) you won't know the solution (input glyphs)
Once you have overriden the system, scan for dissonance spike to find the ships
Then the second option after you unlock it is for the ship

Initial Setup

Freighter Battle Requirement: You must have played 3 hours (cumulative), and have done 5 ship warps since the last battle.
Before the battle requirement is met, always exit your ship to update the restore point save slot before ship warping out to another system. Once the requirement is met, continue as follows:
- If using glyphs, reach the target galaxy and portal to your desired system. Then warp out to a nearby uncharted system, drop and claim a base computer.
- -# The step above ensures that when the battle triggers in some random system, you can always: 1) reload restore point, 2) teleport to claimed base computer, 3) exit ship once more to update restore point and 4) ship warp out to your target glyphs system nearby.
- A freighter battle should trigger, and you will fly towards the capital ship. Upon getting close to the freighter, the game informs you how many hostile pirates are present. See example »
- With 5 pirates, proceed to battle.
- With 8, the exotic may not spawn, so it is recommended that you try a different system.
- You may reload the restore point to search for different exotic designs through many systems, until you find a system that only has 5 pirates and the exotic design you want.
- Once you decide that you want to get the current system's exotic, try either method below.
Method 1
Rescue the NPC freighter and dock with it. You should see the ships heading towards it as well, and the exotic will land shortly thereafter. You can reload restore point and re-warp back into the same system and redo the battle to respawn / re-roll the exotic's stats.
Method 2
-# ⚠️ Use this method only if you're certain you'll have enough units to get the ship, as the exiting ship in the space station will overwrite the restore point save slot, removing the ability to reload to the previous system and redo the battle if you need to for some reason. Exotics go for about 40M units.
- Toggle through the friendly ships to find which one is the exotic. As in you must visually identify it as seen in this example.
- Kill the pirate the exotic is focused on. Kill each pirate the exotic is focused on. If the exotic doesn't go after another pirate, follow it to the space station.
- Once the exotic is close to the station, land in the station. The exotic may fly a couple rounds around the station. Then whenever the exotic flies in, buy it.

I think a YT search could help. There are tons of content about "best s class starships with coordinates" 😉 I've never tried to pick up anything with given portal coordinates as I like explore and find by myself but try to look it up. There must be a site as well with shared coordinates

Almost any ship can be made to be a high quality ship ... it's best to find a nice S one with the shape you like and the Super Charged slots as close together as possible.

Infra Knife is busted by default, pulse beam is busted on corvettes
Cyclotron + rocket combo is deadly, first strips shields and stuns enemy ships, the other demolishes in 1 hit

you can't convert an expedition save to a normal save without completing all expedition steps
since this expedition has ended, it's going to either convert your save automatically or it won't let you load it (don't know, never tried)

that's not how it works
the game replaces any regular crashed ship planetside with a living ship when the dedicated quest is active

mains story teaches you the very basics of each element and it's sometimes confusing what to do so better to watch guide

theres upgrades for living ship so you can increase those stats

There's a special space station you can visit at pretty much any time, when you go there its a shared server with a bunch of other players. You can interact with people, show off your ship or queue for multiplayer missions from it.

You can expand a single base up to 1000u in any direction from the base computer by placing building parts (like floors or walls) at intervals.
Miners all consume the same amount of power, regardless of hotspot, however, the amount of power the magnetic generate depends on where you place it relative to the hotspot itself

magnetic generators do not need battery
to make it easier to carry across
otherwise it'd be a mad hassle to go 400-500 unit back and forth to connect just 1 line over and over

You can use batteries as cable extenders, but they would serve little purpose beyond that, a switch would do the trick as well

The battery won't be doing much of anything in your case, magnetic generators generate power 24/7, so they'd be powering your devices without any break
but yes, having 100 generators and 100 miners connected through the same battery would not bottleneck it

OK, to find salvageable scrap, the planet description where it lists the resources on the planet, must have Salvageable scrap listed
once you have located that planet, look for an icon similar to that of buried technology (a shield with wifi icon in it), but instead of white, it's yellow/gold

There are valuable items and you can save the units for next time
I keep pipes at least 1 floor panel distance away from eachother. Metal floor makes grid patern that helps space things more evenly. Extractors work above ground so u can make floors with diffrent networks with all extractors close to the deposit max density. Dont make more extractors than 1k extraction per h bc dimnishing returns will kick in.
if relog doesn't do anything I'd follow the harmonic camp route in instructions from !faq-interceptor in #bot-spam

go back to eissentam, open the galaxy map in space, and then enter free look. Start hunting around the region you are in
Its a curio....just decoration effectively. Theres a few objects you'll find in system like this, and they are just there as decoration

Hello all!
I just recently purchased the game on PS5 and am experiencing some performance issues.
My FPS drops significantly every few seconds when roaming and I can't complete the starting mission because of it. There is a ton of pop-in as well.
Is there a way to fix this?
To add, I've tried deleting and reinstalling the game. The only other game I have installed is Death Stranding 2 so I have a bit over 1TB of space left if that helps.
There is a milestone that counts all the other milestones you have, Atlas requires those to progress to the next step

⚠️ No Man's Sky - Doing Quests in a group
Playing in a group can cause one or more players to experience issues or bugs when progressing quests, such as the main Storyline. Some of these issues are listed below.
- Waypoints not appearing on the HUD;
- Waypoints moving or jumping planets when you get close;
- Destinations being thousands of lightyears away;
- Quest destinations fail to provide the correct dialogs for the current stage;
- Primary ship getting accidentally reskinned to a different ship;
- Getting trapped on the other side of a portal;
- Getting trapped in a star system without access to both an hyperdrive or a teleporter/Space Station.
Some of the above issues can be difficult or even impossible to fix with just in game steps. Already having access to the Space Anomaly can help in some cases, but it's generally best to ignore quest progression when playing in a group.
📖 Did you know? Also known as The Artemis Path, the main Storyline was implemented before Multiplayer came to be a thing. It is intended to be run solo.

Where do I get them?
Space stations. Same ones you would use for a normal ship
To allow you to get to the other group members easily. Joining another player via the "Join Friends" menu instantly transports you to their current star system, and when grouped you get a new interraction upon taking off from the space anomaly where it asks if you want to be brought to your group members' new current system, if that's now different from your current system
You also see group members' names on the galaxy map above the star system they're at

- Moving the base computer does not change the expandable area
Did you know? After expanding, and completing the build, you can delete the parts used for the base boundary expansion.

Any space station, there are three terminals at the back, the right terminal is the customisation terminal

Go back to the part where the ships are parked, and go to the path on your right as you are facing the eye ball terminal in the middle of that area
and go all the way, it should be on your left after you hit a wall
it increases your health pip by 1
Low priority if you haven't maxed out your exosuit tech slots, but if you have, it's basically costless to have it

Centre of galaxy can be reached without doing either quest, but you would need at least 1 portal glyph to reach it in a reasonable time
Artemis quest gives you all 16 eventually, so that little tidbit is only for those speed running to the core for the PD achievement

You have to start and stay on that difficulty. Both achievements can be done on a single Permadeath run, but you have to travel through the core to get it

You can do it any time you have the parts, which you get from buying and scrapping other ships; and the reactor which is from the ship tech vendor, and the story is 9 main missions, each with a number of steps

1/5 of all Dissonance Resonators contain an Echo Locator instead of an Inverted Mirror. You can see what they contain by walking up to them and looking at them.
You will need an Echo Locator to locate a Harmonic Camp
So find a Dissonance Resonator that contains an Echo Locator and destroy it
