Though since corvettes share most of their features with haulers, they would probably also get this
unless some executive balancing decision was made
corvettes are nice but ships are better for some things, like, if you do trade routes corvette is pita, landing on trading post makes it way easier, and the less extra walking to get into the ship is also way faster. however, between the ship themselves, it would be nice if they had a bit more significant benefits between the types, otherwise a fighter makes a better ship than hauler for 99% of applications...
For late-game I agree with you, but as a Survival-Permadeath player: in the early game the differences are huge. I strongly prefer getting an Explorer asap in a new save file because of the reduced Launch cost and long warp jumps with zero upgrades.

my recent sentinel is by far the most efficient in launch costs, I had explorer, exotic, fighter, but the sentinel barely use any launch, I've never actually fueled it, it's very efficient machine
Yes, sentinel ships also have halved launch costs, just like explorers
their Crimson Core also gives +500LY more than the standard hyperdrive, but their hyperdrive bonus is very low which makes upgrades less effective
Oh I hardly ever use Sentinel ships because I don't like the aesthetics
I did get higher values with exotic but 1.7k is more than enough for me, and I didn't actually try shuffling modules, I bet I can squeeze extra 100-200 from it with the right modules and maybe even priotizing the hyperdrive to use the dual sc slots I have and get extra 300-400 easy, right now they are occupied by the pulse engine to give the edge to manoeuvrability

What is the use of fishing
Not much. You get some nanites, food or additional cosmetics for your character, if you reach specific, fishing milestones

why after changing tabs(for example i'm watching something with picture in picture and open google to change episodes) gmy fps drops to like 15-20
even tho normally i have around 80 fps

i'd suggest submitting a bug report just in case, but first make sure that you can repro when using latest gpu drivers (and i'd also suggest to try and repro the issue when running windows under a clean boot to rule out 3rd party apps)

- translators usefulness will drop as you learn more words, i'd drop artemis translator as soon as i'm done with the quest
- try to put things of the same type in adjacent slots e.g those 3 sentinel modules should be in adjacent slots
- i'd probably drop one of the underwater modules, and get a cold prot module in there for example, or a toxic one

the c-class techs are buffing your core hazard protection tech, not the hazard protection modules (the rechargeable ones).
having more than 1 of each type of hazard protection module just extends the protection duration; once one depletes, the other will start draining basically.

any idea why my space station list isnt rotating anymore. have been just going to last in the list checking for what i need there and then repeating. previously the system i went to last would move to the top of the list so i could once again click the last listed and cycle thru all of them. playing this morning the most recent space station is still at the end of the list. whats happening here?

did u guys know that if you use the smallest ball in manipulation weapon you would get more resource from deposits, but it will take more longer to drain the deposit

can someone please explain to me that two buy and sell percentage you see at the galaxy map on each system ?
@proper parcel mine seems to be working as expected. pushing more recently visited to the top (lol funny/interesting side note: one of those stations, i couldnt even add it to favorites, i assume because it was a station in a system i had discovered 6y ago)
S/B percentages apply only to trade commodity type items (the ones used for trade routes money making strategy - type !faq-units in #nms-commands for more infos). in short, when you want to buy said items, you look for any t3 eco system with a buy percentage as close to -30% as possible (cheaper, in relation to GA the galactic average). when you're looking to sell, you look for any system (of the right eco type ofc) with a sell percentage as close to 80% as possible.
restarted computer. was the same initialy but cycled thru a couple other stations and it seems to have reset it. dont know what the heck

Me and my friend are trying to do stuff together and it's just an awful experience half the time. Multiplayer really is just slapped on
yeah, i tend to describe nms as a single player sandbox game with bits of multiplayer content on top. some of it works well most of the times, some of it doesn't really work well at any time

i think the space station rotation thing may be related to the atlas bug i mentioned regarding the atlas eternal quest not popping. it did it again and it was at another atlas location

not the anomaly, you have to find and power a portal on a planet
you will need a small supply of carbon, sodium, any stellar material, and di hydrogen to power it. If you don't know where one is, try to find one of the alien structures and interact with it until it gives you an option to find a portal
how do i find monolith to locate the portal?
You can buy maps in a space station for alien structures, or I believe the wheeled Exocraft radars can locate alien structures

How about expedition milestone rewards, what if I've already claimed them in expedition?
Milestone rewards do not transfer, the phase rewards and the overall expedition-ending rewards are unlocked account-wide and can be redeemed at the quicksilver vendor on any other save after unlocking them
You can take stuff out of expeditions, but only as many as you can fit in the slots in the expedition console

Okay, TLDR of the situation
- I have a main save, but it is a different one from the Expedition save
- On main save I do not have the anomaly unlocked yet (started the game yesterday)
- I really want to keep nanites, cash and some equipment I got from expedition on my main save.
You cannot, since you started the expedition from a new save, unless you choose to continue your expedition save as your new main save after you finish
If you only just started yesterday, I would just carry on with the post expedition save

Once you finish, you're done. You can't go back into an expedition
Btw, you won't unlock all the skins from the expedition, but they are unlocked in the main game, so don't feel too worried

the expedtion console will clear as soon the current one ends, so....
Following the past, there will be 4 expeditions this year, and those 4 will then rerun at the end of the year
personally, I think they should have AN expedtion running at all times. When one ends, if there isn't a new one to debut, run one of the reduxes. They take 6 weeks to clear, so you would only have to run 8 per year, and there are over 20. That's plenty of content to rerun.
If you're a PC player, you can rerun older expeditions at any time

Generally. You can find more, but they don't give you anything. If you're going for glyphs, however, doing the story will be less of a headache and likely faster

Urgh... I am having NO luck getting "Salvaged Frigate Modules". Been going through a bunch or derelitcs, since I've read that they have the best odds of having them, but I've been through a dozen now and only got one. -_-
Anyone know of a better way?
I would look for crashed freighters over derelict ones
The "best" place to get them is from guild emissaries. 1 in 3 Merchant emissaries will have one for you at Exalted reputation, and 1 in 5 Explorers will have one at Master level
You just need to do enough missions/donate enough items to those respective guilds to get your reputation up

@regal pike i'm not aware of such a rule. could be that there's fewer graves on a given system or planet overall. there were even planets where people went through the process of locating 16 graves on the same planet, marking them all with bases, or sharing lat+long coordinates so that others could easily reach them after getting to the system. like tyndall said though, the main storyline is the easiest most hassle free way to unlock them, besides being one of the requirements for purple star sys access. that said, if i were to have to find graves on my own, i'd not try to find traveler npcs: i'd find the graves directly using the nexus eliminate haz flora mission type (type !faq-portalglyphs in #nms-commands for more infos)

In that you can build a base, yes, but you don't build the ship itself (just add rooms to it). You can't fly it inside a system, but you can warp between systems with it.

whenever you jumop into a system and end up in a pirate fight, after the fight, you can potentially buy the freighter to use, or capture the pirate one if it is there

Requires Economy Scanner OR Conflict Scanner installed on your active ship. If using a Living ship, the Wormhole Brain. When using the Freighter Galaxy Map, the Interstellar Scanner tech is required.
In the galaxy map, look for systems with a small pirate skull left of the Economy type icon and identified as Black Market, or with Conflict level set to Pirate Controlled.

The skull isn't there if you don't have an economy or combat scanner unless you've visited the system

📖 Did you know? Matchmaking/Multiplayer in No Man's Sky is peer-to-peer based, not server-based.
This means that if anything is blocking p2p traffic, it will block multiplayer on NMS as well.

If you see what they wrote, they said it was turned on
depends on the specific room. Some rooms don't have them, and you can use certain room expansions to fill it out without them, but some rooms will always have the colums

Pick the one you like most. At a given class they're functionally identical. They all have the same max tech/cargo slots per class, they all have the exact same build area. After a time in the story, you will get the opportunity to get one for free and from then on the first one you rescue and accept will be free

If you're getting damage, there's a reason. Charge your hazard protection and make sure whatever room you've built that you're in is no larger than 5x5x2
Hazard protection charged for 80%, +heat protection upgrade is on, and I'm still taking heat damage every ~20 sec
did you build your base next to a volcano or something?
Yup, I first spawned on volcano planet and trying to do some exploring here

It's probably a long shot, but i guess you can also try to remove and re-install the tech modules from your exosuit. Re-arrange them a bit, etc.

some people were even using this to trap unsuspecting travelers i.e. grief
So volcanos overpower your hazard protections when closeby? Huh, i wasn't aware of that
this isnt intended - i think the devs just made a mistake like added an extra 0 to the heat bubble radius of the volcano caldera
There are also some weather effects that can do that. Eg wall of flame can spawn fires on the ground, which will make you feel pretty toasty

Nah. If you want to grind that way go for slavage scrap, and keep parts you need for your corvette and sell the cosmetic ones when you need units

There are a total of 10 50 slot storage units that you can unlock. 1 in the mission Base Computer Archives, the other 9 in the mission Expanding the Base

There is a console at one of the long ends that you can interact with, to get you some game lore. it is part of the story chain
for channel record, "atlas eternal is missing from mission Log" issue is now fixed. important things to notice :
- user completed atlas path getting star seed but apparently either some kind of bug happened, and it ended up giving them mark of the denier bp as well
- ATLAS_LOOP_STAR (atlas eternal) mission progress was set to 5 in the save file
- ATLAS_LOOP_DENY (atlas eternal) mission progress was set to -1 in the save file
to fix: - change $(basecontext.playerstatedata.missionprogress.$(ATLAS_LOOP_STAR mission index).progress) to 1
- remove mark of the denier from knowntech

Bases cannot be destroyed by anyone or thing that isn't the player that constructed them
if you build the base far enough away from any "Titan Worm Burrows", then you're just as safe as you are on any other lush world

Do you mean the Runic Lens? It's the core mining beam tech for Atlantid Multi-Tools, as well as the Atlas Scepter. Supercharging mining stuff increases mining speed, which is what I use it for to mine stuff away when I'm exploring, like getting hazardous flora out of screenshots or just mining ugly rocks. I supercharge the Optical Drill when I'm mining Curious Deposits, as that's the only time I care about what I'm mining.

Probably because you aren't using your fourth upgrade, that and maybe supercharging the P-Field Compressor may lead to more stats than superchargin an upgrade but idk
Also yes, S-Class neutron cannon upgrades have a decent amount of variance compared to other upgrades
also, their illegal versions are not better, they have the same maximums but far lower minimums and a weight towards those minimums

Indium and Quartzite are the most valuable of the stellar metals

despite what the description says, it wont mine for us, but if you got something like the minotaur cannon installed in it, and go into combat, it will also shoot at sentinels. that said, remember that it can still get tech damaged when you're not piloting it, potentially incapacitating it during a fight

it's quite easy to take out sentinels with a bare boltcaster - but install a c-class bolt module and it instantly gets a little tougher
Yes, this is done to make earlygame/pacifist combat not unbeatable, but high-end combat still fun and vaguely challenging
and with some setups, we can easily outpace that scaling, so it's not a problem on either end

Use your quick menu > Utilities to locate a Trade Outpost in a Vy'keen system if you have an Economy Scanner installed. Pilots that land there will sell Vy'keen Daggers
