i have this constant pop-up which says "Modules from your cleared corvette design have been refunded..." it keeps on showing up, no matter what i do. Even if i remove the parts from the storage.
is there any way to get rid of it?

Both Exploration and Survival
The option should be in your quick menu
Unlocked Phase Rewards can be claimed on all saves once unlocked in the expedition (which includes the colossus cabin, paint and mechanical legs)
But yes, you must complete all of phase 5 to unlock the ability to use the Expedition Terminus to transfer technology and items back

There are some very small rocks on the planet, took me a while to find them aswell, so you're probably missing one of them. Just keep an eye out for those tiny rocks

make sure you dont have any leftovers from the quest (cracking void egg, any duped organs), then warp to an uncharted system (a system with no race icon on galaxy map), then save+reload and try again

Yes, though we can't build a Base Computer during Expedition 21: Remnant I believe.
And Space Stations don't transfer back to the main save if we began the exp from the Expedition Terminus within an existing save I think, but unsure
You could more easily return to that system by using portal glyphs #nms-commands message at any Portal in Euclid Galaxy #nms-commands message. If you began the save by starting Exp 21 (like on the "New Save" screen), then you'll stay in that system as the save is converted into a normal save, so you could just build a base there or visit the space station to return whenever on that save.
Sure thing. After you complete the exp the save will automatically convert to a normal mode, and you'll be able to do whatever. Including going back to your previously visited places

Planets with Aggressive Sentinels, systems with tier 3 conflict
you could search for structures that have sentinels always at them
if you want a qucik fight, you can shoot at the space station and the sentinels should always spawn
or do mission board missions for pirate stuff

Well, you can change your ship for the living one, and you're going to use a chromatic metal to fuel the warp drives. That's one of the ideas

and ofcourse remember to install some upgrade modules for better fuel efficiency
Even with fuel use set on expensive you should see a vast improvement once you get an upgrade module or 3 that improves efficiency.
There's also Warp Hypercores which are 4x as valuable as Warp Cells, but they require Storm Crystals to craft. This may not be a problem if you can find a planet that has them as well as get together an exocraft with the right protection to travel between them
You can unlock the blueprint for Warp Hypercores at the Synthesis Laboratory aboard the Space Anomaly
What happens if you win the encounter with the pirate dreadnought? I’ve had to come up a few times and it always kills the civilian ship first.

you can bind individual functions from the quick menu to keys 1-9. there should be a prompt at the bottom of the screen below the quick menu while you have it open
Does anyone have a suggestion for my build. At the moment i have 11 refiners and 3 medium and 2 heavy all on one base this is where I do nanite farming I find it difficult tho because I have to keep recharging the 11 small refiners is there any suggestion to what I should do for that to increase my production especially when im not there
i wouldn't recommend using refiners at all while you're not there. you also should stick to using large refiners because they don't require any fuel
hey all, i'm trying to get a walker brain at a sentinel pillar, when i kill the walker, it goes poof and no brain, only a canister, what can i do to get a brain??
What i mean is at the moment i can have all my refiners on and make abt 32000 nanites in 20 mins I just have to watch me small ones to make sure they dont run out of carbon and was wondering if I could do something to be able to do other things at my base while I wait
Place more refiners and process them in smaller stacks. And again, don’t use any small refiners so you’re not reliant on fuel

The Sentinel walker is the really tall one that has a bar over the top your screen like the ender dragon they dont drop canisters but once you kill them it will show you that you can pick up their face because of the highlight around it

That is not a sentinel walker, that is called a sentinel hardframe
Sentinel walkers spawn when you have a 5-star wanted level. You need to keep fighting until you get to that point

If I understand correctly, right now there is no way to directly transfer items between your own saves. You need another player to hold items from save 1 and give them to save 2.
I put it in as a suggestion/feedback, but has there ever been talk from the devs about the possibility of a "transfer storage" or something that is account-accessible rather than tied to one character? (I don't even know if it is something the game tech can do.)

The Worlds Part 2 update made it possible that marsh planets could have sulfurine as a mineral hotspot, instead of just mordite or faecium. It probably is a bug, but one that has been around for about a year

my game crashes very often and i get like 30 fps
the crashes are hardware-dependent and since using a mod to unpause the game I don't crash unless I alt-tab out for like 15+ minutes

they get expedition xp to level up their class
Send full 5 frigates if u can. Frigate lvlup system is based on expeditions done so the more they do the faster they lvlup and gain stats.

base computers require a 300u separation. which is odd as this means you can get quite a lot of overlap still. I presume it doesn't care who owns them.

i built a corvette yesterday with my favourite loadout beams and rockets. then quickly learned about how stupid op beams are on corvette with 6 beams so i went to get rid of my rockets and replace them with infra knifes. but realised ive never used cyclotrons before so decided to install them into my vette ive now got 12 beams. is this meant to happen any other time ive built vettes ive never used beams. but since this was supposed to be a dual role explorer/defense thingy its not the most maneuverable thing even with everything stuffed and glitched inside it. my only wish now is if we get colourable weapon beams so i can have phasers🤣
Up to 6 Phase Beam Arrays working on corvettes is normal, but it multiplying the damage for each one added is a bug

ive only got 3 beam modules and 3 cyclotrons but im spitting a wall of 12 beams havent checked the dmg output

The weapons just count as "more places to shoot from" for all weapons

You’d think they’d make more upgrades for them, you know, increase rocket speed, or accuracy, or something. It also kinda sucks that the vettes are limited to only three launchers (that function). I’d love to be able to let like 12 rockets rip off at any given moment.

The flea is fully suited up but the stock bigger ship stats are very close to it

The only sentinel ships I recommend against are the ones with front wings that obscure your field of view. Unless you don't care about the handicap in combat
They're really not close. Damage potential is meaningless on ships #nms-questions message, and you only have one (probably really low stat) pulse engine upgrade for maneuverability
There is godroll for stats, godroll for desgin, and then when stars align, if atlas is willing, godroll with stats and design

there's a good YT guide on how to layout your ship for extreme stats, especially maneuverability. The figures and starship trails can boost it a lot
there are also some faq-commands for layout for both exosuit, starship and multitool
mine is not maxed, but I got close to 700 or 800 surface speed, and it turns on a dime

Note that speed is capped and displays super wrong in-game to make you feel faster

These are the true maximums. You can reach these on any S-Class ship with only like two and a half S-Class upgrades

i have a nexus mission where i need to tame 10 creatures but it sent me to a planet where the only creature is a weird metal things that goes through the ground and i can’t interact with it
though tech space is far more constrained, so compromises must be made

there is a YT video on how to use starship trails and figurines in a certain arrangement to boost maneuver into the thousands

A very mildly upgraded ship travels at the same speed and acceleration as one that has everything supercharged to the max
These videos are of each ship type, the right has nothing supercharged and only a few upgrades related to boost, as well as no bobbleheads/trails. The left ones have all pulse engine upgrades supercharged and all of the trail and figurine stuff going on. Both have identical speed. All of the videos captured were with mods disabled.
I calculated their speeds, and they match the later tests I did here using the mod to document their max speeds #nms-questions message

The actual list is here. The ship seed for some reason existentially just improves speed by up to like 5% (changes between ship speeds, it's weird), so the numbers I chose are the low end, which are achieveable by all ships of that type at S-Class
No. Put the main module/upgrades in SC slots instead
I'll verify this once I get back on my main save, but I remember the ship feeling much faster flying over the surface than when it was ~400u. But looking at the YT video again, it does not relaly look like you are skimming across the ground faster actually

Nothing else is improved by more maneuverability
Boost improves ship speed and acceleration, but is capped very low despite the speedometer continuing past that cap
The only reason to use the trails is to maximize the adjacency of the Polo figurine, which is the only figurine that gives maneverability (trails, artemis and octo just give boost)

I like the Cyclotron Ballista because it cancels ship engines, which also makes the Positron Ejector pair well with it

I guess in my case since my main save has top level standing with all factions and guilds i just keep 1 stack of the rep item things on hand, typically just a couple stacks of common resources and same with plants.
i like the ejector as well but need try the ballista some more. its fire rate was a bit too slow i think
If you have bases set up for mining/farming can use those as "storage" since you can just leave stuff sit in the tanks and get it as needed.

The ballista one is lower damage but the way it disables the targets engines makes up for that.

I mostly just kept ferrite, oxygen, carbon, sodium, stuff like that. Easy to end up with multiple stacks of certain things just from gathering other stuff.
I keep some of the main "biome" minerals if you will, like uranium, pyrite... Dont need multiple stacks unless you plan on planting a lot of plants or doing a lot of crafting.

I keep a stack of every element, the 8 plants, rusted metal, tainted metal, void motes, fungal mold, mordite, faecium, polished stone, salvaged data, nav data, ammo, animal feed, atlas pass, freedom ticket, repair kits, and stacks of all the POI search items (echo locators, sentimel maps, etc.)
Im kind of bad at helping others sort though since I organize things by storage container.

Not really, the only way to "get" them is to build them
upgrading them can be annoying (they always start at C-Class)
All the needed materials for a basic one are available for not much money (10-15m should buy everything), and you can find more parts on planets
getting the parts to build them just requires either units for the basic selection of modules, or just time spent salvaging them from Salvage Containers on worlds with Salvageable Scrap for the full selection of parts, which can be traded for each other at the Corvette Workshop too in case you get ones that you don't want

I’m trying to make/buy a superconductor for the final stage in the they who were quest. I can’t find the sulphurine and I’ve tried a bunch of high tech and advanced systems but none for sale. I haven’t come across any barren planets in this new system and all my systems in the old galaxy are gone

You can only get it via Atmosphere Harvesters (very slow, must babysit) or by using Concentrated Gas Clouds with Gas Extractors (takes longer to set up and is also slow-ish but you can go away and come back to harvest later, has scaleable storage and pipe networking, worth it for endless of that resource, see the hotspot farming guide #nms-questions message)

You could also hunt down and destroy Depots on any planet to have a chance of getting any of the gases and the items they craft into
I made an oxygen farm using depots and extractors so I can just copy the setup for this one if I find the right spot. That’s much easier that jumping all over appreciate it
Exactly, yes. Each planet has half of it's gas hotspots as oxygen hotspots, and the other half as that biome's gas

I warped through the galactic core and landed in a new system, I used a nice but empty exotic ship and upon landing I summoned my primary ship and went to look around and went to the space station, I tried to summon the original ship but realized I forgot to fix the engine, after I went back to my base the previous ship was gone and I can't summon it into space station or the freighter, I have ~10 ships and every time I go into the freighter only some of them are there but my exotic isn't, and I can't summon it into the freighter as well... is there something I can do to retrieve that ship? it supposed to be somewhere close to the base in the new system but I can't find it
also it doesn't really shop up on the exocraft radars... not sure how I can find it

Go to one of your planetary bases, then save and reload, then you can summon it.
Know that non-primary starship position is not saved. On the next load, all non-primary ships no longer exist in physical space and are only able to be summoned from the quick menu.

Create a restore point by any means while within the radius of your base, then select "Reload Restore Point" in the Options.

you need to repair stuff to be able to fly to space station and then you can scrap it in the back left on a terminal with a little holigram ship on it.

put the ship to the side for now. When u get a frighter u can fix it up and sell it. If u dont know where u got it, i believe there is no way in summoning it atm.
search for a Planet with water and use ur scanner. Maybe use the Exo Submarine. i dont know if there is a better way. but it is kind of common.

Question; I made some doughnuts, and when I put a stack of 200 of them in the auto-ingester, it says duration 9:20, and counts down from that when I start it. However, since each doughnut gives 10 minutes buff, it is actually 1 day + 9:20, will it actually run for the full 33 hours and 20 minutes, or will it cap out at 9 hours and 20 minutes, so I better take some doughnuts out to save them?

I know it's just a couple of times I came across a freighter that had all the tech I didn't yet have access to as part of it's base internal configuration. Rigth now I'm just swapping freighters to steal their tech.

While waiting, uninstall anything like OBS, Overwolf, Twitch Studio, Medal, Riva Tuner, etc. All are known to cause crashes in NMS when not completely up to date. Additionally, ensure your graphics drivers are completely up to date. Integrated graphics as well if on a laptop.
Please, please look at that last part. It solves probably 90% of issues like this

Summon your freighter to the system or remove things like tech using the matter beam. If you leave the system, the freighter will despawn

I interacted with a traveller grave while on a mission and, despite the text when reading it being from the mission, the catalogue still added an entry as though I'd read a grave normally while not on a misison.

It shouldn't matter, if it progresses the mission and gives you what you need I think (though I don't recall getting anything from the one or two scripted interactions)
This is normal, as Expedition 21: Remnant takes place across one planet, and you can't use your ship until you finish it

Hello, I'm trying to scan everything on one planet that I've discovered. Game was telling me that I have all 4/4 fauna but I flew to the other half of the planet and now it's 0/4 but in the journal it shows this:
so it's actually 8 fauna, or 6 but 2 are extinct?
Possibly just a temporary bug
those extra entries are minerals/flora that "went extinct" due to major updates changing what appears on the planet
a bug causes them to display in the fauna section, which confuses many players
basically, ignore the extinct entries

Illegal Hazard Protection upgrade modules
You can buy them from the Salvage Dealer aboard Outlaw Stations, or sometimes get them from Suspicious Packets
They're the only upgrade that improves the actual hazard protection strength (besides the blueprint tech of course)

and there's no non-illegal version of them
illegal upgrades just have very chaotic stat variations, with a tendency to be low

They have four separate stats for each hazard

Also, they interact very differently with SC slots, as internally their ranges are 100% to 110%
so multiplying that by 1.25x (SC bonus) gives you a lot more effectiveness than anything else

they cannot be interacted with from the wild without mods on PC
you can scan them and use a wonder projector to display them in your bases
just add it as a personal record first
you could also ask someone on PC with a mod installed to go to that planet and adopt one for you, then give you an egg of it (possibly ask in #nms-lfg-or-trades)

We turned pretty much every difficulty at the max in the custom settings. We figured out than space fight were more easier with C rank spaceship than S rank spaceship... It is because we're still in the early systems? Do you guys know how pirates scales with our equipement/ship?
It's just how the combat scaling introduced in Outlaws works
We don't know the exact values for how it operates, but it might be somewhere in the files hopefully and not the exe

More supercharged slots, far higher stat bonus % ranges, far higher inventory upgrade limits etc
You're not really meant to take advantage of the combat scaling at all, it's there for players who haven't/don't know how to upgrade their ship, as well as not punishing non-combat oriented ship types/layouts

They're quite mildly rare outside of outlaw systems, but extremely common in outlaw systems (they replace 10% of shuttles in regular systems, but 85% of shuttles and 10% of fighters/haulers/explorers in outlaw systems)

Oxygen deposit?... I mean you can use a harvestor and grab it from the air on almost any planet

Hi guys, my gf has a problem at the moment with alt tabbing. When she alt tabs out of the game the screen goes black for seconds before she can control things again, same thing when she alt tabs back. We tried using borderless, vsync, having the same refresh rate and fps limit. Another weird thing is: I can stream no man's sky just fine through discord, but they can't at all. When they stream, the stream freezes at the first visible thing and I don't have anything besides audio. So for example when she alt tabs out of the settings menu, and then alt tabs back, I can only see the settings menu frozen in the state it was when she alt tabbed into the game.
I have zero clues as to what could be causing this but no man's sky is the only game that has this issue for her. Any ideas?
the game does not like alt-tabbing and that's about it
you can attempt to solve it by installing a mod that unpauses the game (it solved being completely unable to alt-tab on my end)
ye I sort of get that many games don't like it actually, but it's completely fine for me (outside of things that aren't noticable to me immediately, like some multiplayer logic or anything in the background), I just tab out and in as if I was doing it with any other application on my pc
no black screen, no freezes, and streaming is also completely fine, she can't even stream the game over dc atm
alt-tabbing also pauses the game, which is annoying if using multiple monitors or simply switching to a different window to do something else while you fly/refine/wait
the only downside of the mod is the game doesn't pause in photo mode
Even though it pauses the game, refining goes off of IRL time and continues even if alttabbed/actually paused
But yeah, I've basically never had issues with alt+tabbing but I've had that mod installed nearly the whole time

When you look at a corvette module in the editor and delete it, the module is added to your cargo inventory as an item (since the default resources needed to build it IS the module itself, so that's what's refunded)

There is not one. There's only a symbol on individual planets for it, when you hover over them or select them after discovering them to see further details

Is there a way to skip the main story quests? Ive done each of them 3 times on different saves (2 on my old xbox, which died, and one on my ps5, which i don't really use since getting my pc (which is what I'm playing on now))
not really. starting from a creative save, or changing difficulty settings to creative would most likely help a lot with blazing through it all

If you have access to your PS5, you could cross-save the saves from that to PC

generally, each side something is adjacent with similar stuff on is about a 6% boost I think

Additive with each other adjacency bonuses
so a module with all 4 sides adjacent would get a 24% boost (I think)
whatever it is, maximize the adjacency of the best things while not compromising the total amount of adjacency present in the layout
which means shaping stuff into square shapes is the best

that sounds like you're thinking of a visor upgrade module card stats, when affected by a nutrient ingestor buff - sorta like how it happens with optical drill tech card when nutrient ingestor buffed
there's no visor module that can roll a value that high

electric storm thing, they happen on lush worlds rarely regardless of storm presence
they do a lot of damage to you if you touch them

It seems the timers on buying suspicious packs from outlaw stations changed. Used to reset in ~10 minutes or just bouncing between stations - same with the envoys to get the free items. Anyone have data on this and know the reset times on when it is restocked or seems different?
Envoys haven't reset inventories in a very long time
Restock. Like the cargo bulkhead used to restock faster and now takes about a week.

they go off of save file stuff you've done since you interacted with them
could be a day, could be a week, varies based on what and how much you've done since the interaction

Outlaw stations should restock in time. If you have 5-6 outlaw stations that you loop through, by the time you get back to the first it should have restocked

Seems changed as of that last patch. I have three that isn't refreshing all weekend. I'm testing more tonight to see but seems it's matching guild envoys with several days restock.

Pick up a new one and abandon the first, unless that settlement is tied to Trace of Metal, in which case finish that first

I found an S tier (i think exotic?) ship. In my excitement, I added it to my collection and jump into it. It made it my active ship. Now the marker for my old ship is gone, can't find it. The old ship is out of fuel, can't summon it. The new one is broken to oblivion, can't use it. I'm in a new planet, I would like to move on without having to make a base and portal etc. Is there a way?

If you save+reload restore point at a planet base, you should then be allowed to quick menu/summon any of your ships, regardless of state.
This is a failsafe added by the devs to ensure players never lose ships in their collection.

But if I do that it'll give me my new ship, which is very broken
