Are inventories of pilots system specific and/or race specific?
Generally more stuff gives more upgrades of different kind, up to a limit of 3, where adding more modules to the corvette no longer adds a upgrade.
Additionally you can add normal ship upgrades to the corvette
up to the same limit of a normal ship
Each one offers different race relics of course, but other than that I think it's fully random

Hello hello! I'm brand new to this game and I have some questions before I spend the money to get it
1.) Is it super overwhelming with controls/buttons? I play on Xbox One S and RDR2 Online was...a lot and the tutorial wasn't helpful.
2.) I've been on a hunt for a game that's open world with combat, that has farming, creatures to ride/tame, some crafting/survival, and NPCs to interact/trade with. Is that kinda what this game is? From what I've read online you can kinda do anything you want.
3.) What exactly is this game? I know it had a rocky start but it's really good now from what I hear. Do you just explore and have fun? Is there a story? Is there an end goal?

You can either buy from the basic selection of modules, or harvest the full selection from Salvage Containers found on worlds with Salvageable Scrap as a resource. You can trade modules from the full selection for each other too, at the Corvette Workshop.

Correct. It's only on Gas Giants, which only appear in a few purple systems. Systems that have a Gas Giant will say so on the Galaxy Map very clearly.

Worlds 2 update changed some things. Some mild farms got changed to either sac venom or floating crystal
This is related to a change in 6.24 that did something similar, but it may have broken some things
I haven't had much luck finding any Lithium. I thought I read water worlds, but so far no luck
All waterworlds list it as a resource, which means it appears in the form of mineral deposits in the terrain. Waterworld biome planets are exclusive to purple systems. Purple systems do not appear on the galaxy map until you reach the mission "In Stellar Multitudes #nms-commands message which requires that you have completed the autophage intro mission "They Who Returned" as well as completed The Atlas Path before it can begin.

By either using a Carrier AI Fragment, or by using a Harmonic Camp. Harmonic Camps are found on all inhabited dissonant worlds, you can locate them by using an Echo Locator. Echo Locators have a 1/5 chance to drop from Dissonance Resonators, which are scattered across the surface of all dissonant worlds.

when i made my corvette i had filled some slots of my corvette with upgrades then i refit it so when i added more corvette parts i had tech installed before corvette parts i suggest doing the same
You can endlessly modify a corvette's shape, this does not impact it's class whatsoever.

Again, class is not determined by installed technology or attached corvette modules.
Then you cannot finalize the ship until there's at least one of each required module. And when you finalize your modifications, it will still be the same class as it was before, with the same amount of technology slots unlocked and generally the same amount of cargo slots

it does not allow you to finalize a corvette that is missing any of the essential modules
All modifications you make are temporary until you finalize them. You can back out of the editor to undo them instantly until then

changing it's part makeup doesn't change this
as well, there aren't really "better" parts, corvette modules do not have variable class outside of big thrusters counting as A-Class, which don't have largly different ranges from the B-Class ones

Hi, my friend gave me an S Class sentinel ship a few weeks ago. I noticed a few days ago that the ship had innexplicably downgraded to a C class. I have no idea why. I've tried to Google it, but the answer I got back is that classes can't be downgraded, so I really haven't a clue as to whether that's a game bug or if Google has got it wrong.
When "trading" a ship to other players, the class is not saved, it's "rerolled"
you most likely didn't notice it's class when you initially "got" it from your friend
Ship trading is not an intended mechanic, it's just a glitch that's somewhat intentionally never been fixed #nms-legacy-ships message
things like the ship's inventory and class are not transferred (due to those not being info communicated to other clients in MP), it's as if those are from a new ship

Also note that distress signals never lead to sentinel interceptor crash sites. Sentinel interceptor crash sites are located using unique means #nms-commands message (either defeating wave 5 of corrupted sentinels, using a Harmonic Camp, or by using a Carrier AI Fragment)
if one is playing a custom game mode, and they switch to one of the default ones (normal, relaxed, survival), does that immediately switch you to that mode from the perspective of multiplayer? (or does it kind of stick somehow?)

Phasing through the floor of buildings was supposed to be fixed in 6.24, which has reached all platforms except Switch
huh cause i have it happen quite often same with loot crates either being the same way or there position is way up or down

if you're referring to sharing the galaxy with other players, only permadeath players have their own separate instancing (if I remember)

Hi everyone, I'm having a technical issue with No Man's Sky. Whenever my mouse cursor reaches the edge of the screen, it automatically snaps back to the center. Additionally, the mouse sensitivity/speed seems to increase significantly when this happens.

If you have a main save that you care about, and don't want to continue the expedition into a fully new save, then begin it within that main save.
If you want to start a new playthrough with a mild head-start on resources and stuff, begin it as a new save

Starship 1st person views seem to vary greatly from ship to ship. Is there a way to see the coordinates while flying other than going in and adjusting FoV per ship?
This is an example of the worst. Even at 90, the coordinates display is offscreen. I needed all the way to 120 and even then the corner was clipped.

They're about as good as stuff normally is, they aren't truly unique except cosmetically and via a few weird oddities (starborn runner and phoenix have sentinel ship handling mechanics/speed, and the iron vulture and boundary herald both have damage and maneuverability bonuses that are far higher than are normally possible for their ship type)
What, the fact that they are invisible in the menu? That just sounds like a really strange bug, but I haven't observed that yet myself

Not really, no. FOV also increases when boosting though, and IME 100 fov has always allowed me to see it while boosting

I have a bunch, today I confirmed that they all still have Curious Deposits. Note that those that list they have Salvageable Scrap most likely do not have it now
We do not know. Stuff like that is not ever supposed to happen, but IME if it wasn't there before the it wouldn't be here now. Possibly just avoid that spot for now, if saving and reloading does not fix it.

Those that are on worlds that have extreme radioactive storms will give more Runaway Mold when the player is exposed to the storm (so possibly go grab those battery-powered upgrade modules from space stations and keep a bunch of ion batteries on you) Also, those that are in purple star systems cannot be reached until the mission "In Stellar Multitudes" is completed #nms-commands message

It’s a hazmat gauntlet. It allows you to pick up things that you would otherwise not be able to pick up like venom sack, frost crystals, and gamma roots.

A Walker Brain? Those come from defeating Sentinel Walkers, which you won't normally ever find on dissonant worlds.
You only encounter those when fighting wave 5 of normal on-foot sentinels

Unless you are assuming that "Dissonant" on the galaxy map means all of it's worlds are dissonant, which is incorrect.

Only worlds that say "Dissonance detected" are dissonant. The galaxy map tag is just used to locate systems that have these worlds
only dissonant worlds will have Dissonance Resonators on them

Oh, well all of them should have Dissonance Resonators. Especially hilly/mountainous dissonant worlds will struggle to spawn them on their steep surfaces, so possibly avoid those worlds

What multi tool weapons are my best bet against sentinels to get a walker brain?
strong suggestion: no matter what primary you go with, unlock paralysis mortar and voltaic amplifier techs from the anomaly - the former is an aoe stun grenade secondary weapon (stunned entities cant shoot back or move), the latter buffs damage dealt by any weapon to stunned entities by +21%
Any of them really. It depends more on the upgrades you install. You can purchase upgrade modules for your preferred weapon from space stations, and you can install up to three of them per type
I've been using boltcaster but i always have to reload before they die and they regen
they cant heal while stunned either btw
But i also haven't spent much time trying to maximize my damage
imo, para mortar+volt amp are simple and very effective techs to have especially early on, we can just perma stun them by shooting them with it again

You could utilize the 20% of all outlaw systems begin a battle every time they're warped to, skipping the cooldown
So just warp to different outlaw systems until a new battle happens, then warp away and back from that system to reset it

sorry, not sure If I follow 😬 I warped now to dangerous system (not fully controlled by pirates), I arrived on battle and defeated pirates, aborded them and I see that ship is just class B - as far as I remember these battles are triggered every 4 warps 🤔
I need to repeat it to get S class?
They do not follow a count, they follow a cooldown of both 3 hours and 5 warps, both since your last battle.
20% of Outlaw Systems and 10% of High-Conflict Systems have a property that makes them skip this cooldown and begin a Pirate Dreadnought Event every time that they are warped to (given you qualify for them to spawn)

Note that technology that has been previously installed can never be traded between players

Somewhat, yes. Once you find a system that always has a battle, you can warp away and back to it to re-do it
Question about fishing. I know that larger water depths = you catch larger size fish. But does the water depth affect the rarity you catch? I've been fishing at 30u depth and caught some legendaries. But question is - would I catch legendary rarity more often if the water depth is deeper?

the chance for a system to be one of these "Guaranteed Event" systems is deterministic, so that system will forever always have that property

Damage potential is not what determines multi-tool type
you can install upgrade modules to increase this on any multi-tool
afaik legendaries do have sizes as well - meaning that there's small, medium, large and colossal - but an exception at least, it wouldnt matter basically at all for gas giant biome fish for example, water bodies there are in their vast majority really shallow, unless you find an area that has a underwater cave for example, and it still drops the legendaries fairly ok

Yeah I’m not worried about the size. I just need to catch them and register them for the cosmetic unlock. Caught some in fish traps but that didn’t register them to the list under wonders-fishing.

yeah, but for example, fishing in deeper water normally is, or should be, a requirement for colossal legendary. and yes, afaik auto traps dont work for this purpose
No size requirement for the cosmetic though. So all I want is to maximize chance of catching any legendary since you have to catch, literally, every legendary. So if deep water = higher chance for legendary I need to go there. But if chance for legendary catch is the same in all water depths then I just go to whatever biome regardless of water depth.
deeper water higher chance for large/colossal fish, overall - except gas giant and basically waterworld too, to account for those variants that dont have any land i guess

but the chance to catch emeril sunstar in deeper water is going to be heavily reduced if at all possible

Star systems can be inhabited, abandoned or uncharted. We can easily tell the difference between inhabited and uncharted, but abandoned systems are a little easier to miss. Take a look at the embedded image.

It's a whole storyline quest. I think you need to finish the main story (Artemis / Atlas paths) to start the Autophage thing.

Black Holes do not gravitate you inwards or anything, and entering one has basically no consequences beyond the position you are spat out of being very distant usually

how can I optimize my weapons stats as well as my pulse drive. I'm aiming for 80-90k dps on the infraknife (currently 69k), and I would like 2.5k manuverability. I know I can get 3500 manuverability if I use all the SC slots, but beacuse of diminishing results, I'm choosing to get more balanced stats
well, supercharging is going to beat adjacency, so if your goal was to buff infra as much as possible you'd use all SC slots for it (core tech+3 modules). if you want more maneuver, then id' suggest using that 4th SC slot top row to the right side for a pulse engine upgrade module

Okay, so I finally spawn a walk. I jump in my ship and I blast it. I see some notification thing about a walker brain. I assume I looted it and it is in my inventory. I get back to the space station to build my conflict scanner, no Walker brain to be found. So I messed something up somewhere

Paradise Planets/Moon is a special name given to lush worlds that have both low sent activity and no storms, as well as they aren't infested/relic. On On-Foot Combat = Hostile, they basically aren't possible due to High Sent Activity becoming the default/lowest

I am firing the infra-knife, but on my other corvette all 4 weapons fire (placed 2x infra-knife + 2x phase beam). Basically, it looks like the visual weapons are more for show as to which weapons they are on that other corvette, and when I fire my weapons, all 4 visual weapons will fire the same type of shots. If I switch to phase beam, on that other corvette, all 4 weapons will fire green beams.
Just go to space near this freighter and summon your own, make sure to not go to far away

No, they are mostly all unrelated to titles
titles are a separate thing

Is there anything else that gives "hidden" cosmetics, like the fishing thing gives you cosmetics but the game doesn't show you how to get them in-game. Same with the cosmetics for the Colossus in the new expedition. Are there similar hidden unlocks for archeology or the fossil stuff, or other activities?
Title unlocking is technically fully separate from these, some may correlate but they aren't unlocked from the journey milestones

i haven't updated my drivers, but i believe that's not the issue, my other friends could also see the same hole in multiplayer, and i can actually enter it physically
like i can see the inside of caves and enter them

in short, after you dont get any more building decisions for a long time, when you're not upgrading any anymore. it's around 40 buildings, counting with the small cosmetic ones that have no function/buff whatsoever

well, i can tell you that one of the first steps devs always ask for is to be running fully up to date gpu drivers - but if you want to avoid doing that for some reason, if you're on steam, i'd suggest disabling shader cache (steam settings, downloads)

You could browse #nms-showcase-corvettes, but there's no way to "get" them normally, we can't give blueprints to each other in-game or anything like that

Yes, it will show up randomly. It'll be like "root out corrupted sentinels" or something.
You can keep checking more terminals for a possibly better class, or upgrade the class of your own using a boatload of nanites (see !faq-nanites to see how to make that many nanites)
