there's multitool weapon techs that can be unlocked via weapons research secondary mission, but there's no mission to unlock optical drill, or survey device, or para mortar, or voltaic amp
By opening the build menu and placing it. If you cannot/do not want to find land, just use free-placement.

after you learn to melee jetpack (<#nms-questions message>), you'll most likely want to have airburst engine to have some regen, to allow you to slow down instead of splatting on the ground after falling

yep, but note that the names are proc generated; no matter the name, s-class is good enough that you usually dont have to worry about anything, it'll just be great and OP already
that said, with s-class visor, it's possible that it wont roll all the +% <unit scan> reward stat types, which are +% fauna, +% flora, and +% minerals
so the s class module i get might not be the best
correct, but it will, in the vast majority of rolls, be OP enough
maxing out stats can be a thing you do later on
nothing that you need to spend time on right now
also, make sure to keep an eye on ship upgrade module shop too
having s-class hyperdrive module(s) on will be amazing: more fuel efficiency and range, but imo especially that fuel efficiency
more warps per full charge, less finding resources and less crafting, more playing

it had i think 100% efficiency
and 292 ly range +

@lavish garden be aware that you could upgrade your exosuit up to 60 tech slots and 120 cargo slots. same tech inventory size limit for all s-class gear, but the cargo inventory size upgrade limit being variable depending on ship type

You can make a corvette by interacting with the corvette workshop in a system's space station. You can purchase essential modules if you don't have them already.

Hunting salvage is the easiet way to access the full catalogue of modules

I am playing with a friend and he is doing early missions,
I wanted to join my friends journey,
And I was hoping there is a feature that allows me to see my friends indicator markers,
For example when we went underwater to explore for freigthers and ancient ruins it was really difficult to follow him since I cant see his markers and its all underwater
You can endlessly edit a corvette to further modify it
you can dissassemble and reassemble as you see fit
You can modify it as much as you like, any time you like
aight so should i focus on modules for now
None of the parts need to be the same between edits
Your friend can use his Analysis Visor to "mark" markers that he sees, which then show for players in his group (you)
A "Marked" thing gets a highlight like this
In space, I believe you should be able to do this without using the Analysis Visor too
do be aware that build mode items you place in (or on) your corvette will be lost if you edit the corvette parts they are attached to using the corvette editor
so before you edit a ship you have spent time decorating, undecorate it first

Missing Phosphorus, low on Paraffinium, missing the plants but I'm assuming you are refining them, but even in that case you are missing any way to create Frost Crystal or Solanium

all ships can get you through the game when fully upgraded, even c-class ones
do you prefer the manouvrebility of fighters, or the more precise movements of the sentinel + additional starting tech slots, and storage
basicly prefference
sentiunel has more tech slots and more storage, so it looks better overall, but it cost 50k nanites to upgrade to s class
not a problem late game
Also sentinel ships go much faster in-atmosphere, and can hover in place
Again class matters very litte
Only really for supercharged slots

You might want some pulse engine upgrade modules for maneuverability
infra knife is much better on the sentinel than on the corvette, I've heard, bveacause of the low manouvrebility of the corvette
If you put the reactor on super charged slot it will skyrocket your maneuverability
Not as much as any decently rolled S-Class Pulse Engine Upgrade Module though

Often one of the engines would be better in an SC slot, but might come down to what has the better stats.
A good S class upgrade module is hard to beat if it has a high stat for maneuverability.

someone explain to me what the matter beam for freighter or teleport reciever for fighters do exactly? i can take stuff out of starship or freighter if they are in the same system without this so dont really understand what its for
you get to deposit into and draw from the freighters general storage when theyr are out of system and interact with the storage unit storage when its in the same system
Teleport Receiver increases ship transfer range from 50u to 150u. Matter Beam enables you to use the storage containers built in your freighter when it's in-system through it's inventory screen, as well as it's core cargo from across the universe
these options are somewhat superceded by the Transfer Range difficulty option

No need to even enter the systems, if you have an Economy Scanner installed
Just look for the "Dissonant" tag, and the 3 stars that indicate a t3 economy
what is dissonance tag?
The tag shown in the image above, it indicates that the star system has at least one Dissonant world.
Keep in mind that dissonant worlds that have gold or rusted metal will never have harmonic camps or crashed sentinel ships

The latter makes planets that have extreme storms or aggressive sentinels easier by removing those permanently for that planet for that save only

If you don't like waiting for storms to occur, yes. Though the storm crystals on gas giants are farther apart and in smaller clusters on average I believe

That is a roll that is better than S-Class, you are extremely lucky
that's not a blueprint tech though, that's an upgrade module.

update i got an xbox game pass subscription on cloud gaming and managed to access my save on my laptop. now that i have a new autosave in space hopefully something changes.

Keep in mind that Xbox is a save version ahead of Switch, which loading your save on that will make it temporarily incompatible with Switch until it catches up

I found an abandoned ship and it looked like these numbers were current slots for cargo and tech, but each seems to be off by 1. Manually counting shows 31 cargo (many damaged) and 18 tech, rather than 30 and 19.

It should still display new ones that you visit, but favorited ones are not protected in any way
when you have visited too many space stations, old ones are kicked off the list, even if they are favorited
If you wish to return to a system in the far future, build and claim a Base Computer instead
(you can teleport back to bases even if they lack a teleporter built at them)

It's really a matter of choice. Many people like lush galaxies such as Eissentam because of the increased rate of finding lush (and thus paradise) planets, some people try to reach the last galaxies because like they're the last ones, but just Euclid can be more than enough. It's up to you

Good Morning all. Got a question on Refineries. I put in O2 and NACl to make chlorine on my freighter. No problem with that. I left the freighter and done a job for my settlement and when I came back all my stuff was gone in the refiner. This has happened a few other times. Is this a valid bug or something else?

My general rule of thumb with refiners was to stay close, never warp the freighter with running refiners (stuff vanishes) and make sure they are empty before logging out.
Corvette ones seemed more forgiving, just do not place them back to back on a wall or you lose stuff.

You can get expedition buffs (less time, less fuel, bonus to each stat for the fleet) and hyperdrive upgrades. Often via derelict freighter dives.

Pretty much, you can summon them to you from anywhere (given it can reach the star color you're at). You're given a free one during the second mission of the main story "Ghosts in the Machine", if you somehow miss this opportunity then it will repeat eventually until you claim it or own a freighter (it continues repeating after that, but is no longer free) #nms-questions message
oh, i see. I just passed the tutorial after around 20 hours and grinded a lot of side content before completing it
You can also use them to warp around, in which their technology allows them to reach very high hyperdrive ranges and they have a room that allows you to scan the entire star system you are in to inspect the planets as if you landed on them

The mission should tell you how long you have left
Some systems are uncharted. You can tell because it won't have a race icon on the galaxy map (where you can normally see if it is gex, korvax, or vykeen). Red stars are the most common for uncharted systems
in it's tooltip in the lower right at least

sentinel interceptors sell for several to tens of millions of units, and you don't have to repair the landing gear or pulse drive, and they're easily farmable
eh you still need inverted glass and murdering sentinel freighters
But then you miss out on having a freighter early, which is extremely useful for the storage container access alone, nevermind the cheap tech/rooms that allow you to summon exocraft, teleport away to wherever, etc. None of these are improved by class, and all of it transfers to future freighters

By reaching the Space Anomaly and unlocking the blueprint for one of the Exocraft Geobays at the Construction Research Station, on page 4. Placing one of the geobays will summon the exocraft, and counts as ownership for summoning it with your quick menu.
Once you technically own the exocraft, you can build an Exocraft Summoning Station in other star systems to enable you to summon your owned exocraft using the Quick Menu
Later you can use your freighter and then your exo suit to summon any owned exocraft, but in the meantime id advise picking back up your geobays so you don't have to craft more
(disassembling them with the build menu gives the materials back)

Birthing a new star is part of the Atlas Path, and it's all flavor and lore
That is correct. This also includes Sac Venom as a third option. Planets can only have one of those three across all 3 star resource nodes on that planet

For The Purge, you don't need to go to the core. The tooltip states to travel toward the core (though even that is not necessary). Either way, there is no decision in this game that will prevent you from accessing any other part of this game
Unloading and reloading the curious deposits in any way works, including saving and reloading, traveling more than 500u away and back etc
traveling can include teleporting, or it can include getting in your ship and zooming away

But note: dead worlds cannot have the new salvageable scrap (that has the new structures)
oof, the low gravity would've been really useful
even if they could, the structures count as inhabited, and therefore don't generate on worlds that count as uninhabited (including gas giants, and all worlds in uncharted systems)
so if you wanted the high gravity, that's out too
still good for corvette parts I suppose, but I haven't come across dead worlds marked with salvageable scrap, I assume the above is the reason?
So far, I've found these which I've been using and seem mostly ideal
Currently I'm focused more on finding new ones rather than correcting old ones, since HG could fix the weird issue by separating old scrap and new scrap in a way that retains old scrap, but honestly I should fix the old entries since them being wrong is worse than them possibly being right again in the future

I just realized one pattern: Since expedition 1, every year there are 4 expeditions.
So at the end of this year, we should have 24 expeditions in total?
2024 had 5 expeditions
There is probably also another year that had only 3
So this is not a pattern.... good to know π
2023 had only 3, so it can vary and is fully up to what HG wants to do

The latter reshuffles if you switch off of that corvette for a while, due to a bug that activates a failsafe meant for if the game can't find that tech
For the "stats being gone", do you mean only 2 stats display in the ship screen? Open and close the pause menu to fix this. This issue is caused by viewing the Multi-Tool inventory

That's due to the technology being moved away from where you had it before
which of course changes how the supercharged slot and adjacency bonuses are applied

charts just find a position that's supposed to have that structure there, they don't make the structure exist
