Price for it shouldn't change as it's a packaged blueprint. Modules lose their value once you install them for the first time as before opening them they could be anything...could be good, could be bad...but once opened they have set values and they can be packaged up into gray icon versions. But the blueprint tech doesn't change like that.

Seems like a really weird mechanic as it's exactly the same thing before and after being installed for the first time and there is no guessing what it is. I guess they don't want people farming nanites by crafting and selling these things but they should just make the drop be worth 16 like after.
What does the level up thingy mean
You can't package up all the corvette tech tied to items installed on it. If you have another ship you should change primary ship to a normal one. But you should be able to repair the corvette tech...I think. If you can't it's a bug.

hmm, i've not had that issue. so basically, i have to identify it once, to build the base, but wont have to again, even after a game restart: my base still has power, my extractors are still working. in fact, the same thing happens with other hotspot types too

It's only to get more NPC pilots in better ships.. if you're riche.. The way i figure it buying inventory slots quickly goes up to 30-60-higher millions of Units for one..! Best to start with spending up to ~20 million for slots, then use those precious slot upgrades..! π Don't waste slot upgrades on the cheapo inventory slots,.. wait till the Unit costs are too high, then use them.. π

Never had this happen but my guess is your freighter did not have the drive required to access that system installed but your ship did. Like the starship the freighter too needs special drives to be able to warp to the various system types.
You got it...40 is about as good as the base of living frigates can be. Normally for mechanical frigates you'd also have to figure out their level and subtract their level-up point to get the base number but all living frigates start with 0 expeditions completed so you don't have to worry about figuring out their level.

The amount of fuel frigates need, I never cared and never bothered to look...all I care about is their stats. Don't have any support frigates either...crafting fuel for them is a total non-issue as far as I'm concerned.
Is it possible your freighter was out of fuel? Does your ship have the Atlantid drive while your freighter does not and you went to a purple system?
The first LF is free, so i wanted to pick from my S40.5 finds, all the rest i have to buy, so probably all my C16-15.4 or so.. I just didn't want to stop looking if S40.4 was still not Max.. you seem pretty sure, so you've done Frigates a lot..?

Not sure what your question is...what do you mean by bone frigates? But I am sure 40 is at least close to the max...I'm trying to remember if 41 is possible but I don't think it is. 40 is about as good as it gets.

I found the triangle one the simplest from the trade diagram he gave you, you just basically jump from SS to SS buying/selling = you are riche! π
I have spent extensive time recruiting the best frigates for my fleet. I did not want to completely fill my fleet with only living frigates though they do have the most stats by far. I ended up settling for 6 living frigates and a combination of other mechanical frigate types except support. Mechanical frigates are best recruited at C class with less than 4 expeditions and a base of at least 10(their max base is 12 iirc)...only problem with them is there's no way to predict their perks and no way to change their perks after the fact...so it's a gamble if they turn out good or not. It also takes at least 11 days real time to max them out and at least 7 before they hit S class and finalize all their perks if the same frigates do all 5 expeditions every day. My criteria for keeping vs replacing mechanical frigates was minimum of 90 combined stats at max level(level 10 at 55 expeditions complete). Mechanical frigates hitting 100 combined points is quite rare. My living frigates are all between 125 and 135 points at max level and my fleet average is 102.

If a living frigate only has a base 16 I would not keep it. And 16 base shouldn't be possible for a mechanical frigate...chance are it has at least 4 expeditions complete so it would have at least 6 points from level-up/s.
I only have data on LFs, no mechanical frigates are being considered, though you seem to use a majority of them, i plan to go Organic, for a start at least.. So, i meant by C-Class 16.4 a Living Frigate (LF)..
I would not keep a living frigate with base 16 at all it's too low for a living frigate. Living frigates have the best base values when they spawn at S class while mechanical frigates have their best base at level 0 Class.
You're right.... being able to teleport straight between Space Stations makes money infinite and therefore boring. I think I'll only do trade runs via actual warp travel.

Yeah but the base is immutable...what base stats it has when you get it is what it will always have. The C class with base 16 will still get the same 60 points from level-ups as the S class with base 40. Your C class will not get more points because it has a trash base value.
Ofc, one has to find those systems first to even do a SS to SS trade route, that takes some exploring and planning though, at first.. Btw, Pirate System Trade routes are also very good..! π

The C class will also get perks which the S already has when you get it and those might be better or worse so that might make the C class catch up a bit or fall behind a bit but if your S class living frigate does not have great perks you should try experimenting with feeding it various foods until you find something that gets it to good perks.
and I guess for that matter is there any way to know when you have discovered all of the flora and minerals on a planet
like specifically the waypoints on the discovery screen for a planet

I make my living exploring planets for all that, but besides Fauna i never know, but in Missions you're told as you complete the correct numbers or types.. So, i guess no or idnk.. Minerals come in pairs, btw, so do plants in a way, like underground..

Expeditions are timed events...you can't just play them whenever. The reason it's grayed out is because none is active right now. But we are expecting a new one, Expedition 21, to start on Wednesday the 11th.

Not immediately...the thing about staves is they only become available later on...you have to complete the main story, unlock a terminal at a harmonic camp, and only then you can access the mission that will have you build your first staff and give you access to the terminals where you can buy more staff parts and build them.

Yes...but they are basically worthless...they collect only 15/hour of a resource each I think. You're better off setting up bases that extract gasses, minerals, and metals from hotspots...those can generate up to ~1,500/hour per circuit and can be linked to storage silos where you can store tens or hundreds of thousands of resources.

That should not be the case...those should run even when the game is off the same as the planetary extractors on hotspots.
Freighters can power everything without limits so there should not be any issue about them not being powered.

You need to read the Void Egg's description and it will contain a portal address described in word that match portal glyphs...you need to be in Euclid galaxy and take a portal to go there. It should be this one:
Oh the stellar extractors don't store stuff in your freighter inventory unless you call them to another system...or so I heard at least. I haven't bothered to keep any stellar extractors in my freighter at any point...I briefly looked at them when they were added to the game and thought "Oh, this is worthless." and immediately deleted them.

NPCs shouldn't be able to do that. Other players in coop maybe...I think depending on network settings other players can harvest stuff like plants and extractors.

Did the number of warp jumps change for getting a freighter skirmish? I jumped probability 10 time before I got a Dreadnought fight last night and this morning I could not get one to save my life. More than an hour of jumping.

i found a better spot for a base so built a new one and made a big storage box to go in it. then noticed upon opening it the items in the one at first base are accessible in this one as well. if i wish to break down and remove the previous base how do i, or do i need to move the things or can i just break down the first storage and stufff will just be in the new box?
if you have items in storage units, you don't need to move anything
If you're familiar with Minecraft, think of the ender chest functionality

You don't have to go that far, but you can if you want to. There's a specific setting for refiner access.

If you want to. All shiptypes are viable. Corvettes are a little stronger in just about every metric but not so much that you should feel forced to use them.
my corvette is my main ship most of all) i have storages, freighter it's a portable base with teleport, but corvetter is a main ship to have all strorages nearby

Quick question, when I wake up in a new galaxy it's always the calipso galaxy, so my question is how do people get to other galaxies? Is it possible to find yourself in a nother galaxy entirely?

When you finish the story ||and choose to reset, then choose Red, you end up in Calypso from Euclid||

Portals are not intergalactic. They only take you to destinations in the galaxy you are currently in
Portal glyphs can never take you to other galaxies, same with black holes. They can take you closer to the center of the galaxy, which travelling through that takes you to the next galaxy in the list
If you want to get to another galaxy, teleport to a base there (there are at least 2 featured bases in other galaxies), join someone there, get a taxi, core warp until you get where you want to be

No, you lost everything in your inventory and perhaps damaged tech, but you didn't lose inventory slots. Nothing will do that. As long as you're not on Survival, find your grave before you die again and get your items back

None of them are hard, just look at what it's asking you to do and what you want to do. Finding predators can be hard, but only because they're uncommon on most planets. Killing Sentinels can be hard if you're not equipped to do so. The missions cycle every 10 minutes, so if you don't see one you like, just wait
I see people say stuff like "found blank on planet blank in the Euclid galaxy" Like there isnt more than one galaxy right? or are they js being overly descriptive

Move the Combat Scope so you can put your mining laser upgrades by the mining laser. It might be better to supercharge your boltcaster rather than that lone scanner upgrade

I'm in a friends world who just bought the game and his mission says investigate surroundings, but there's no ship marker
Click the mission, go back to the game. Press H or D-Pad L until you see the mission hint. What does it want you to do?

Playing in a group can cause one or more players to experience issues or bugs when progressing quests, such as the main Storyline. Some of these issues are listed below.
- Waypoints not appearing on the HUD;
- Waypoints moving or jumping planets when you get close;
- Destinations being thousands of lightyears away;
- Quest destinations fail to provide the correct dialogs for the current stage;
- Primary ship getting accidentally reskinned to a different ship;
- Getting trapped on the other side of a portal;
- Getting trapped in a star system without access to both an hyperdrive or a teleporter/Space Station.
Some of the above issues can be difficult or even impossible to fix with just in game steps. Already having access to the Space Anomaly can help in some cases, but it's generally best to ignore quest progression when playing in a group.
π Did you know? Also known as The Artemis Path, the main Storyline was implemented before Multiplayer came to be a thing. It is intended to be run solo.

It's not his world, it's a world in the system; but a save+reload will help with the mission hint,, unless he joined you and not the other way around

yeah, it is - in short, just keep progressing main storyline aka artemis path - under a rebel star should trigger pretty early, around alone amidst the stars probably, pulse time required is like 40s, may need to try and pulse in diff systems
or a better ship for that matter
type !faq-inventory in #nms-commands for more details (follow header sublinks), but in short, there's lots of sources for storage augs, e.g. scrapping ships, mission boards, explorer and merchant guild envoys
we can upgrade any ship to be "better" - dont let the fact that "it is a c-class" deter you too much, that can be upgraded, and sometimes it's faster to farm the nanites to class upgrade than it is to wait for rng to drop s-class gear
that said, remember that class drop chance is affected by system economy tier
with the notable exception going to exotics, which have the same drop chance regardless

should have triggered under a rebel star long ago - goto space, pulse until hailed, not in an outlaw system, pulse for like 40s, if it didnt trigger exit and warp to a diff system

They're not going to do anything if you don't use them
having more weapons installed on a ship raises damage "potential", but dont let that mislead you into thinking all weapons install will do more damage because of it

phase beam on corvette is kinda broken - because the phase beam corvette parts you add add on to the damage, double dipping

yes, but this isn't a problem per se, you can just ignore them, move away; it's only happening because you spawned your own freighter near the pirate frigates after the fight.
There are no living freighters. Living frigates can be obtained. The first one you will need a dream aerial, any others will need Anomaly detectors

Reason: Diminishing Returns.
To get around it, player must split extractor (and supply depot) into separated groups, where each group's extraction rate doesn't go above 1,000/h. See in game example.

if you want to avoid diminishing returns, eventually, if you add lots of extractors, depending on hotspot class, yes
iirc, a c-class hotspot was like 4-5 extractors to stay at about 1k/h

note, the nr of depots (per extractor group) wont affect it - only how many extractors. can have as many depots as you want per extractor group

The only way to make the extractors make more per hour is to separate them into more groups
The more extractors per group the less each extractor puts out after 1000/hr, regardless of how much it could put out on its own

the gist is, you can snap modular "Universal Building Standards" walls (like arches and doorways, i'll refer to them as UBS-<part>s) to prefab corridors and have that open the end of the corridor, AND you can snap another corridor onto the other side of the UBS-wall.
...but if you do,
it will slightly shunt the wall piece UP.
and forever out of vertical alignment of the rest of the structure.
edit: wait i have that backwards--it will shunt the prefab corridor section vertically up. just a teensy bit.
These "should" connect. The loop I built off the left SHOULD line up where it meets the original corridor again on the right...
...but it doesn't.
because each time it is attached and extended off the UBS arches or doors, it is offset vertically just a tiny bit.

I had to INSANE places to put my reactors and weapon systems
if there's a decal in the build, using save editor/blender/nms base building standalone app to render the corvette code will most likely let us find it, find what part of the code in the save file the decal is, and delete it
like places I lowk can't even find atp

it's weird to me how looking sharp is not always conducive to performance when it comes to corvettes
like, it'll VISUALLY appear to be streamlined and yet have lower maneuverability than if you had certain exterior decorative modules attached at weird jutting ugly places
you can see the maneuverability numbers changing in corvette construction when you add or take away those decorative hull pieces. it's so weird to me that they even affect it
it's not by much though
bit by bit it adds up
and then gets multiplied when you rearrange the pulse drive and avionics components in the technology grid

i find that adding decorative hull pieces tends mor often than not to detract from maneuverability but it's interesting that it can ADD. and ... perhaps i even kinda like that? because it's like the game is trying to do some sort of either aerodynamics or thrust balancing math in the background even if you don't get to see how

I refuse to install windows 11 on any device i own, so my laptop runs mint now. My desktop rig is incompatible with windows 11 so it's still running 10.
laptop runs NMS just fine, better than it would have on windows, albeit less well than my desktop, but i just can NOT seem to get the QC timing

The first glyph of a 12 glyph sequence is the specific planet you are closest to/on, so no need to separately document that

Hiya, so I know generally 4 square are considered idea lfor sentinel ships and 4 square and T shape super charge slots can be good for multitools (neutron cannon comes to mind) but whare is the consensus on 4L shapes for ships/exotics? Are there best layouts for that configuration too?
Square is """best""" for most things, we have displays in our !faq-shiplayout, !faq-multitoollayout, !faq-suitlayout, !faq-freighterlayout and !faq-exocraftlayout commands in #nms-commands that show the "optimal" layout for each specifically desired technology

I have a question about non living frigates - they aren't generated like ships per system I assume? It seems like ships are generated with set slots for a given class. Are frigates also generated with set stats per system? Say I found a system with colors of frigates that I want. If i reroll there long enough would I be able to get one with 0 missions? Or do they also have set stats/number of missions gone on per system?
I know living frigates have set stats for a system at least but I don't know about normal frigates

What's the easiest method to build a space base today?
I saw some old videos on YouTube but they were before the Corvettes
might be able to free place a base computer while standing next to a open hatch, but finding what's max render height might be tricky

sure; drop inside atmos of a planet, then brake to 0u/s, quick menu/leave seat, goto hatch and hit the open hatch button

yes, but the point about sharing it was that you're aware of height/atmos limits and render limits, and how planet surface affects those
if you lose access to a base computer, if it stops rendering, wouldn't be able to move the base computer further down or delete the base for example, with in game means

You can do it on PS5 as well but it takes a bit longer. You have to go back up your PS5, and then select only save files. It backs up all your saves for all games but it works.

hmm, with spacewalking/skydiving being a thing now i guess you might not have, but afaik there's still planets that have mountains so high that you start draining life support really fast, but this is when on foot

you mean building upgrade stages? only way to make that go faster is by tuning difficulty settings to be like creative's, iirc it was crafting=free that made upgrade stages be 10s
