You have to beat the game to find that out unless you don't mind spoilers
autophage is a npc race, locked behind a quest; settlements produce stuff because well, they have settlers who work the settlement - eventually you'll get a settlement too, can have up to 4 per save

I have a question. I know one of the methods to get Glyphs, is to go to space stations, and hope, that it has a holographic Traveler walking around in it. Does this, to happen, require any specific ammount of game story progression to be able to see start appearing?
Or is it entirely possible even in the early game, to just search Space Station after space station, and just look for the holographic npcs

just complete main storyline - if you focus on it, can be done within a few hours
you'll have the full glyph set unlocked by then
I think you can find traveller graves on planets too, right? But yeah story gave them very easily and also needs to be done to unlock other stuff in the game anyway
@nova zealot autophage ones do produce different products, I'm not seeing hypercores on the normal list at my korvax one, just warp cells

I wouldn't rely on it as a big source of stuff, just as a nice supplement for passive resource generation

so i found a settlement, took it, started to upgrade a few building, last one it's a habitational unit. First Pic. Second Pic is the interface when i press E. In the Third pic it spawned this and it says bring ionised cobalt to the construction site

No Man's Sky itself is basically just like one GIANT server of a multiplayer game right? Thats how people make those publicly useable Warp Portal bases n such as long as you use the right Portal address to go to the location where said warp Portal player base is
Portals are not player made, but players can build around it to build teleporters for access
yeah, this is a known bug, where the terminal is probably inside the building somehow. i'm not aware of a way to fix this, sorry

NMS universe isnt stored in a server, we dont download the universe from a server. what the server does is initiate connections between players, serve uploaded player bases e.g. featured bases, serve discoveries, etc

Yeah! But I don't think there's a way to favorite other peoples bases so ultimately unless you have someone bring you to the portal you want eventually that base might be bumped off your list. You'll need the portal address to that planet's portal itself or a base on that planet to be sure to keep it
i still have people and ships disappear after i get into the anomoly, if i uninstall the game and reinstall, will i loose my games??
nope - that said, i'd suggest the following - make a creative save on the side, it will take you a few minutes to progress it to anomaly access, check if the same thing happens there

That or you would have to make your own base/ find your own settlement in the same system. You could also summon your freighter and leave it there as a sort of terminus anchor.
Can some one simply explain to me how I can make my puls spitter OP
- visit space stations till you find one with a MT upgrade module shop with s-class pulse spitter module; buy 3 of those, you can save+reload to restock upgrade module shop
- install them in adjacent slots to pulse spitter main tech, in a square around it; if you got supercharged slots you can use, supercharge pulse spitter core tech and upgrade modules
- unlock impact igniter, amplified cartridges, voltaic amplifier and paralysis mortar, and install them
- equip pulse spitter and para mortar side by side
- combat strat: fire para mortar to stun, fire pulse spitter to delete

Tips for finding a scorch planet
locate any body with solanium on the list; if you have that resource already unlocked in catalog&guide>materials>plants, you can get the catalog to locate a planet of that biome (scorched)

if you dont have solanium unlocked yet, you could try to locate phosphorus instead, or, using a medium refiner (recommend unlocking exosuit personal refiner mk2 exosuit tech from anomaly exosuit research npc selene), refining phosphorus+o2 to get solanium and then locate it

So, I have an S class sentinel rifle at 75k damage, I can’t show the image yet, but I was wondering how I can boost my “deleter” (the rifle name) even higher.
Are all of the machines in this game bugged as soon as you leave the system? I left them with max fuel and now it's completely empty

this is a known issue with AMU/atmos harvesters, babysit them to avoid losing resources and fuel. would strongly recommend moving on to harvesting gas hotspots (!faq-units in #nms-commands , has a mineral farming guide that also works for gases; also !faq-biomes in the same channel)

X modules can roll higher, but froma bigger pool so it's more gambling

Well you asked if X modules boost higher than S, short answer is yes they can, if you're lucky

Look for the modules you have and if they can roll a pellet count affix
They do, but they are S class. They’re all at1 1.5. Other than my craftable upgrade, which is higher.
Well if you go by the rules of all the other S vs X modules, you could deduce that X could possibly roll higher, unless there is an exception

A value calculated by the game using multiple variables, including damage innate bonus. It's not a damage ceiling, and it's not how much damage any installed weapon system will do either.
Current tech inventory also factors in, albeit differently depending if multi-tool or starship.
- On multi-tool, only the strongest weapon system installed is included;
- On starship, all installed weapon systems are included.

It's an arbitrary calculation that the devs put in that does not correlate to damage done or DPS in any direct way
If you put numbers on dmg things in games, people expect to do those numbers in damage lol

Well according to the gunther bot only the highest weapon counts toward potential, so if you've pretty much got it maxed out I doubt you can hit 100k
Possibly, I think so. Increased bullet count for the neutron cannon absurdly increases its damage potential.
I guess you just have to try some mods then, mix and match
My mods are all S class, they’re capped at 1.5 bullet count. Though it doesn’t include the crafted module.

I think depending on whether you have multiplayer on or not, the game can get a little confused on whether or not another base is actually there

I am contempt with my S clas fighter for now, dreadnaughts die in like 10 seconds as soon as I drop the shields, so it's all good

And one of my S modules is kinda ass, so with some luck I can get 75-80k potential dps on infraknife
That’s a small fighter, it’s pretty decent. But if you switch to corvette, you’ll probably never switch back to your fighter.
Phase beam is instant, and does the same damage as the infra knife, you don’t have to align your shots, and it recharges your shield instantly. But it only works on corvette.
It’s basically a delete+ immortal button.

Looks to be the case - can't add them from the companion registry so finding the species in the discoveries list appears to be the only way.

how do I get rid of unwanted corvettes? I can't scrap them, and I can't just delete all of the parts. So far the only way I could get rid of one was to trade it for a diffrent ship
You can exchange them for NPC ships by talking with NPCS when they land on space stations or just anywhere really
Or just sell it via NPCs

Echo locator should only be used in star systems with dissonant written in its description
Echo camps only exist on dissonant worlds

for gas extractors do i have to connect them all with pipes for them to connect to the same depo ? they all say they makke 1,530/hr eventho they all dont have a pipe connected to eachother (only a few do)
You need 3 S or X tier scanner modules with at least 6-7k fauna % scan bonus, S can go up to 10k, X can go up to 10,99k, but it's very hard to get those. mine are very mediocre without the supercharge

I would add that, if you are going for X class, you absolutely want to roll for 10k% + for fauna (every other stat is secondary), otherwise you'd want to be rolling for 9k%+ with S rank, also prioritising Fauna stat over anything else.

If nothing strikes your fancy, reload the save, and then either, take off techs of any of your Tools/Ships/whatever, and then reinstalling them, to the same number of times you rolled in step 1, OR, install the same number of C class techs and then dissassemble them, E.g. if you rolled for 20 S's in step one, reload, install 20 C's, delete them, or take off 20 techs, reinstall them, then force another save. Repeat 1

If there are techs you find you want to keep, let's say, in the 20 you are rolling for, you see you want to keep 5th and 17th roll in that batch, reload, and do step 2 until you reach the same number techs installed/reinstalled, then install the S/X rank you wanted, repeat this until you have the all the techs you want to keep.
In the above example of step 3, you want the 5th and 17th. You install 4 C techs or take off and reinstall 4 techs, then for the 5th tech, you install the S rank, then for the 17th, you install 11 C techs or take off and reinstall 11 techs, install another S rank, then finish the rest of the batch

I personally use the C tech method since it's much easier to keep track of the number of seeds you burn. You can bulk buy C rank techs in the anomaly, up to 100 at a time

I am willing to bet that it's because the game treats overlapping extractors as connected to each other
While you have them glitched small, the game may treat them as still overlapping
look for yellow stars on the map
as they would be if they models were their normal size
ill test it out by spacing them more
(Overlapping connection is why I glitch my supply depots, because it saves the piping needed to connect them, but I had to make sure the extractors were not overlapping)

You are not really doing anything wrong, you just got bad luck
depends, paradise planets are always cool, but for resources you're looking for any planet that has what you need. paradise planets are planets that you dont have to worry about storms which cost materials to protect yourself against. you can find them easily within 2-4 galaxies.

Also, Yellow star systems are the only star color that's actually affected by the galaxy type, all other star colors, and their contents, are not affected by galaxy type. E.g. A Lush Galaxy will cause Yellow stars to have more lush planets, but only yellow stars, or a harsh galaxy will cause yellow stars to have more harsh hazard planets, and only yellow, so on and so forth
ngl, about 80% of the planets I land on are pretty harsh and stormy too lol, but you can find some pretty good ones if you keep looking

a beginner probably isnt in euclid, but yellow has more paradise planets than others, and you can find them almost garunteed if you target yellow systems with 5-6 planets

A beginner is almost certainly in euclid, a new save file starts in euclid.

As long as mods don't affect enjoyment of the game to others, it should be fine, this IS a single player game after all, and IMHO nothing is more egregious to game balance than letting creative mode players play with normal mode players :p

Hello, a question: is there any way to give out a ship to other players? I've four LS and four sentinels, plus a squid and one of those rare ships with a long spike in front. both the latter have been put in the archive because i dont like them and their stats suck compzred to othdr shiops i have. so basically i would be more than happy to give them away, along with two sentinel and two LS.... also , shouldn't the name of ships owned be nine? becasue i have six and i'm not allowed to get another one, only trade it.
Not exactly, but also yes. You can go to the same station, sell your ship to an NPC and then have your friend buy it immediately from said NPC.

You'll want to be in a party of course, you're not likely to run into people at random in this game. Not sure it's even possible outside the anomaly. Maybe it depends on settings though.

I think you might have misunderstood me. The anomaly does not in any way facilitate trading of ships. You need to join a party with someone and go to the same space station.

I think what happened was. The other tool I was trying to add slots to, it wasn’t letting me add it to the blank slots because there was other slots available to unlock first

3 Star Resources: LeyLines
Leylines are lines of longitude (vertical lines that go from north to south)
that will have [3 star Resources](#nms-questions message) spawns randomly distributed on them.
When looking for spawns try to search by travelling West or East. North or South runs a risk of searching between leylines where no deposits spawn.
If you find a deposit all you have to do is to go straight North or South and you will most likely find more spots.
You can also use NMS Leyline Calculator made by our members, @hexed thorn and @pulsar jacinth that can help with locating leylines on any planet:

- Never heard of it, probably only if you get from some shady source - use nexus mods

Is there a way to increase my render distance?
I see peoples worlds looking complete in these crazy screen shots while mine is not fully rendered in the distance
- if pc, through graphics settings, planet quality controls render distance
- on denser planets (lots of grass, trees, etc), render distance might get shorter automatically
- if pc, there's also mods for tuning LoD, but that's not quite the same as render distance
- remember that your character position also has some influence in it, even after you pop in photo mode

So I got my first freighter very very far away from my hub of activity (I think from warp from Nexus mission). summoning freighter to us doesn't need warp range, just quick menu/summon/freighter

if you're in a yellow star system rn, you should have 0 issues summoning freighter to you - either when standing on a planet, or when in space in your ship

- if you have access to a 2 input slot refiner, you could refine uranium+o2 to get gamma root; then even locating planets with gamma root on the list using catalog&guide
- faecium can be obtained by feeding animals and gathering their poop, or killing fauna for mordite and refining that
- plants can also often be bought from non-station pilots e.g. freighter, trade outpost

Trying to find a planet's portal, activated a monolith, but I instead received an offer of a multi-tool. What's the correct method for finding a portal via a monolith?
The wiki is unhelpfully unclear on this.
Sounds like you either were not at a monolith, or you activated the discordant interface after you've completed They Who Returned

I bought an Alien Cartographic Data, and activated it on my planet. Got a marker labelled "Alien Monolith".
And where you got the multi tool, was it purple?
Yes.
That was the wrong interaction point. You needed to just talk to the monolith itself.
You will likely have to find another one on that planet now
I started the interaction bv talking to the monolith. Then, it damaged me and the terminal popped out of the ground.
It damaging you was the end of the interaction, see the image above. That's when you reload your restore point and pick another option

Exotics don't have monoliths, no - but they do have portals.

So I was attempting to find one of the Sentient Interceptors from the Fandom wiki, used the portal coordinates but it takes me to a completely different place. I've explored the planets and none of them are the one mentioned on the page.

Also, I read some theory that if you create a save point at like a cave entrance and there are no rare mob spawns, you can reload the restore point to reroll the spawn mechanic, I've tried it at 1 cave so far, but didn't have any luck.

Ah yeah I didn't mean spot them, the red dots are pretty obvious, more like giving the environment another chance to spawn them in upon reloading, anyway everytime I've found them they spawned pretty much instantly as I entered a cave, or on land just walk around for 10 seconds and everything has spawned
Not sure waiting for 3 minutes would make it any better, I've tried that on several occasions and it never amounted to anything, if they don't spawn in like 10-20s, they probably won't anytime soon, but that's just my experience

It's not ideal to have all the chargeable techs only connect to each other...it's better to have them surround the C class blueprint techs, the X class hazard protection modules, and other hazard protection main techs. Just keep all the uderwater tech separate because it doesn't form connections with the other hazard protection tech.

I got a problem. I logged into my perma death run and somehow glitched through the space port to the ground. Currently there is a radioactive storm happening. Is there a way to escape the radioactive effect without entering a ship, like digging a hole?

If i wanted to be a wandering explorer travelling the galaxy and aiding in combat on foot on ship or in space, mostly focusing manuverability, ranged projectiles, and tankyness/shields, what kinda character upgrade/ship upgrade builc would i need
The C class blueprints you can get from the anomaly's exosuit tech seller...each gives +20% hazard protection resistance to one hazard. The X hazard protection modules you can get from pirate stations...they only exist in X class...no S, A, B, or C class, and they give between +1% and +10% to all 4 resistances...so each module can give up to +40% total(10 to each of the 4).

Known bug...seems to be related to the galaxy you are in and all the most populated galaxies seem to be affected though not all galaxies in the game. Right now all you can do is either wait for Hello Games to patch the issue or to move to one of the more unknown and not so populated galaxies in the game...there are 255 galaxies in the game and basically nobody ever speaks of 240 of them.

a few things about this:
- be sure to unlock and install ship tech launch auto recharge
- when a sentinel spawns out roaming, if we dont engage and instead clear line of sight, but staying within 150u of that sentinel it will lose interest in us and get back to roaming, but also preventing the game from spawning another sentinel on top of you
- it's actually quite easy to take out sentinels without any upgrades, as long as you got a weapon installed like boltcaster; this is because game does damage scaling according to player damage output/installed upgrades

Isn't the 1650 a 8GB card? it could be with certain settings you could run out of VRAM, but I'm not too sure about that

Most abandoned systems ive been in had plenty of fauna still roaming around but some planets dont have any regardless of where they are.

Other than the fact that the systems won't have the same planets and same resources in the same place the overall balance will remain the same...they will have the same or very similar amounts of each type of planet in yellow systems.
also are you sure you are running the game from the dedicated card and not the integrated one?
sometimes some programs like to just use the CPU inttegrated graphics in stead of the dedicated card

if we're running fully updated gpu drivers, on both igpu and dgpu, OS should have no problems doing the handoff from the igpu to the dgpu

One small error there...it says that purple systems have no chance of generating gas giants. And no mention of non-gas giants either.

and this table is about biome, not whether can be giant or not

both regular giant planet systems and gas giant systems generate as almost a fully separate thing from regular purple systems. The moons and regular giants follow the standard biome probabilities (with a biome table that includes all biomes except waterworld and gas giant), but the gas giant biome is like an override
Yeah but Gas Giant is also a biome...the only one that is always storming. It's a weird amalgamation between airless like total lack of fauna and flora but can have water and never ending extreme storms.

If set to anything above 0, it would take the place of purple system planets, giving them the Gas Giant biome despite not being giants

A lot of stuff about giant systems is exclusively defined in the exe and not in easy-to-look-at files and tables, besides their biome table

no, but if you have anomaly access, you can just be in a group, wait for the other player to portal, then you enter+leave anomaly, and pick the relevant option
