i dont mind it, other space games you play, theres a structured, grindy, and frankly boring gameplay loop

just to get the chance to play the game

and you dont really have any true freedom, and its not inherently fun until youve forced yourself to grind up to the point where it is

star citizen, you can just do whatever, right from the get go, its inherently fun

cant afford a ship, thats fine, theres other options

my opinion is to be taken with a grain of salt though, i didnt spend thousands of dollars buying ships off their pledge store or anything, i picked it up when they were having a sale on the cheapest game package for $25, and thats all i paid, and just went in treating it like a broken ass escape from tarkov style alpha

lol! I’ve sunk thousands of hours total into unmodded Skyrim and will continue binging elder scrolls 3-5 until I die I respect the work of modders ofc, they def revitalize the game for a lot of people, but I have plenty of fun in vanilla gameplay

Yeah, main thing is games are much more complex than they used to be, more time is needed to ensure quality, but corporate investors are unwilling to wait longer for their payday

I think that’s absolutely a big chunk of it, if not the root of the problem. I would absolutely prefer to wait an extra year for a game if it meant the game didn’t have massive problems on launch.

For me modding is more about changing the visual quality of a game. I'll mod in a famcy looking dense grass, realistic looking plants, beautiful weapons, stunning lighting, and call it a day.

That's the extent of modding for me.

Everything else stays vanilla

Valid! It’s not that I haven’t ever modded Skyrim, it’s that I much prefer the charm of the OG game itself. I think a lot of modders have done absolutely stellar work but my preference is to leave it as is, unless I’m going for a super specific roleplay heavy playthrough

I love the new features where you can have up to 12 ships and you can share with your fellow friends flying on a cruiser
