As long as you can interact with the creature, you can ride it (assuming it is large enough) some creatures do spawn too far away, and would need a mod to be able to reach them but not dragons.

I don't know what's happening, but that is not how an EXML style patch mod should be done
should only contain the sections changed while preserving the original file structure
so it can be still compatible with other mods, this way is just a full overwrite that will cause issues

BBB can't do that. You'd need to edit the actual model to do that. The freighter system scanner and the room are one piece in vanilla.

Not even close. Kibbles been dead since last summer, so not like it's a new thing and only one mod. Just so much of that mod is custom GEOMETRY and HelloGames has made several GEOMETRY changes in the past year. Just can't keep up with the (literally) dozens of man hours to fix and refix everything in that mod every time HG changes that.

Depends which table you spawn. If PvE, then NPC will spawn with it.

Could be. Only one mod out there which adds as a buildable, but I've heard it's problematic. Not tried it myself.
There's 6 or 7 different tables. Some PvE, some PvP. What the actual functional difference between them all is, in-game, no clue. The arena combat doesn't interest me. There's one for station, piratestation, settlement, nexus, tradeoutpost, and I think one or two others.
I've only messed with them to place in my custom trade outpost mod.
The Holo Arena Anywhere mod? It has some problems but otherwise it works fine

It would be nice to place a PVE one, considering if I run into a random player during, say, the weekend mission, they are probably too busy during the mission to want to play holo-arena. Otherwise, its playing with a player I randomly met when warping which is extremely unlikely. If I wanted to play with another player they would probably want to battle me in the anomaly 🤷♂️
(Said problems being that it uses a random building icon and only has the name translation, but no other translations)

In game stellar class has nothing to do with system star color or temperature on planets tho. Its pure game mechanic indicating elements for better hyperjump drives
I don't think the letter classification can actually be changed, but if you just wanted to make green stars appear white on the map it would be really easy

LocTABLE.MXML is basically a non-file specific language patch file.
If you put in there something new, based on Id, game can use it. If you use an existing Id language entries, will replace what's in vanilla.

I have everything built but I don't have table and I'm on ps5 . Trying to release this so the entire community has a dedicated hub for battling. I have 8 half domes I want a table in each and one mega dome(glitch built to supersize it) I wanted to glitch build a massive upscaled table on the roof of the big dome for a champion arena. If anyone can help get this going all I need is the tables at this point and a way to get em on my base
Gonna make it basically king of the hill so it runs its self.
-Winners stay at current table
-losers find any open table
- two wins in a row allows you to face whoever the current champion is at the mega dome or can pick to stay at current table until defeated
-any defeat will be a back of the line basically including the champ spot .

The Egg Sequencer, player titles and platform achievements have all been in NMS for many years, and there are more Holo Arena tables than the two in the Space Anomaly (the xeno arena intro mission from iteration: oceanus shows you this)

Not a website but the base builder app can be used to create corvettes without vanilla building restrictions, and there is a blender plug in to do the same
This is how most crazy corvettes on the service bot are made

Looks like each creature wonder is stored as a seed, an address, and basically nothing else. Custom creatures are made up of way more data than that, so no.

I think i did it a created the mod folder added the mods folder in it and launched the game, it gave me the modded game warning
so apparently i messed up because nothing is unlocked in the quicksilver shop

yes you need the actual save file because it's a save editor, you can't edit the executable like that, it's just not how it works

No. The closest we will ever have to cities most likely are Settlements, which are already in the vanilla game #nms-commands message (or player-created "cities" using the base building system)

the exe is for windows - you grab and use the jar, the java application that's the save editor itself. that said, you could instead of goatfungus use nmse from vector_cmdr - it has an appimage that you can run on linux, most likely on the deck as well, without needing to deal with any possible missing dependencies.
jar is a java application, cross platform, you'd need to have java runtime installed to run it

All of your bases are on the teleport list at all times, other than when you're teleporting from that base I think
So if you're at a teleporter at any other base/space station and the base is missing, that's closer to being a sign that the base no longer exists

You dont need a mod loader as you put mods directly into a folder in the game's files. You can use one (vortex, generally) if you want, however I personally think its a pretty mid mod loader

you don't need any mod manager, better to do manual installation to make sure the mod folders have been extracted properly

Also, reminded myself what was going on with Beyond Base Building. Is there, but disabled, by default. If you take the included Lua script, edit, changing line 36 to true:
`CAN_SCALE_PREFAB_PARTS = true "
then process the script through AMUMSS, will generate a custom version of the mod where the bio dome can be scaled. Mod makes almost 10,000 changes to a game data file, sometimes hard to remember one setting for just one build part. 🙂

well the first step is to delete GCMODSETTINGS in Binaries\SETTINGS and see if that fixes it
if that doesn't work and it's a mod manager problem not sure you're going to find much help, afaik most ppl just install mods for nms the basic way

I was just looking at the core functions practically magnifying planet seeds before and after jump seeing all the data and what changes after jump and I'm going to see if I can figure out the keys of the planets or the triggers that cause the exact outcome when you go there because it don't matter who you are even if offline that planet will be of the same and the seed is forever embedded in the original star which is kind of wild and then it only generates when you're near and when you leave it's gone lol there is no database whatsoever in this game that saves all ships and people It's all done streamline on spot with algorithms math and probability and it's amazing lol

Goatfungus works for Steam Deck because it's written in Java, which was designed to be an OS independent platform\language.

save editing uses external programs that interface with your save files, there is no need to interact with or open these files yourself

oh yeah actually it's just the file structure of the mod that's incorrect, you can just put them in a folder named whatever you want and have that in MODS

because the creator of the mod left out the actual top level folder that contains the mod, for whatever reason
before that
go into binaries\settings and delete gcmodsettings.mxml
binaries is next to gamedata
yeah now you can launch the game
if your mods ever stop working delete that file as the first check, the game sometimes turns mods off after crashes
that'll happen everytime when you have something in the mods folder

Different ship types have their colours applied in different ways
I have a fighter ik tryna colour just to get my bearings as it shouldn't be too hard but no natter what I do it doesnt change in game
eventually I wanna try and change the colour of a starborn runner but I dont think thats very possible
and maybe see if I can change my wraiths colour
Star born Runner and many other expeditions ships have fixed colours on their textures
Can't be changed with save editor, only via modding on PC by replacing dedicated texture DDS files

Fighters can have their colours adjusted via save editing, you need to figure out which colour palette the ship uses and modify the corresponding values like Paint Primary or Alternative1

What do you mean by "modded your save file"?
Do you mean installing a mod, or modifying your save using a save editor?
Consoles do not support mods whatsoever, so the former is no unless the mod just enabled you to get something that exists normally without mods in which you'll still have that. The latter is always yes

I personally found that nomnom sucks and now use goatfungus
so if i used a mod to change the colour of my starborn runner when I went onto my xbox would it still have a changed colour

yea it works but its so slow

nomnom works and is fully updated
but is laggy as hell and slow
goatfungus is much quicker
the only thing I like better about nomnom is json files are easier to find for specific things
NMSE is a great save editor, better than goatfungus
I don't think goatfungus is still updating his, so NMSE is my primary now

The save file system does not include the texture or model data for starships that have fixed models
it only has definitions on the path to find these, which upon changing makes it into a completely different ship or just probably deletes it if invalid, idk

And if I understand correctly, modded textures would only be visible/viewable by you. All others would still see the original state

Game files are not synced in MP. Main thing that's synced is location data.

None. It's all HIGHLY subjective. Most NMS mods are designed to do only one thing. Be very specific what you want the mod to do to get specific recommendations.
