I think the unit count uses 32 bit signed integer but I could be wrong

This is pretty normal for a medium-sized update. gPower will break with almost every update.

i used an anomaly detector to get a second living frigate and it just didnt show up and it ate like 500mil
so i save edited it back but frigate tab is not loading

ok i fixed it. the save editor saved the ship with no type so it was blank type. probably over-wrote it.

yeah save editor is just not working. "living" as a category is just not functional.
and if it has no category (which is the current saves requirement) it breaks the UI
I'm having a derp moment... how do I see what exact version of the game is running? So I can compare with mod descriptions on Nexus? I am looking in game menus and on Steam and I seem to be missing it
The Steam version doesn't use the standard versioning. I believe the !nmsversions command includes the Steam versioning as well, which you can find on the bottom right of the main menu in game. If you are up to date on Steam though, you're on 3.96

Been a challenge to keep track of what mods work doing everythign manual. Is Vortek worth using?
I've played Satisfactory a little bit, and they have their own mod manage that is very handy in that it lets you sort/filter to only show mods that are compatible with the game version you are playing. Super useful!

Custom Freighters may be dead. They changed two of the SCENEs that I modify. I've tried mimicking the changes, but the game keeps freezing when you summon or dismiss the freighter.
Pretty much out of ideas on what else to change, though I'll go through it all again later to see if I missed anything, and once again when the compiler is fully updated, just in case.
Oh no. And here I was considering to get into modding for them. ๐
On that note: how easy would it be to change sfx and/or music queues?
It's doable, but not super easy. You need to use a tool that's still in early development by monkeyman

I tried that, unfortunately it isn't compatible with the new parts. You can still place things down per usual but it won't show the new corridors etc

Also is it likely to be compatible with other mods that change gen as long as they don't change terrain gen? I.E CONSTRUCTS(oh nvm constructs is oudated but still, same question), I don't mean to sound entitled by asking so many questions to bluntly but this seems like it could be fun to use
Vanilla planets still happen at a fair rate and with improvements.
But the universe soft resets when you install BPG. No real way around it.

BPG has been around for 4 years and is not associated in any way with Redmas' work.
His mods are still around, too.
God, he's doing another overhaul and has stopped updating his mod because of it...again. Well, I guess I'll just get yours since Redmas seems to be a fan of doing that his mod so his choice I guess
Any mods you recommend that are up-to date or likely going to be up to date to play alongside your mod? No gameplay or UI though imho the gameplay and UI are perfect as is, at least for me

DUD's SKY Colours is a must have and is now fully compatible with BPG out of the box.

Outdated colour palettes will crash your game at the moment.
The necessary modding tool should be updated soon.

slots usually don't revert but you can always just back up your saves

There are several depending on what exactly you mean. Look on Nexus mods. Only simple (code edits) mods are updated. Will be a lil bit for anything else to update.

I make one. I 99% only use the mods I make. That mod and many others of mine will not be updated until the compiler is updated, NMS patches slow, and I get a bit of time.

If you're talking about terrain as in "voxelgen" or "the surface"....TERRA FIRMA does that. DUD"S SKY and DUD'S SKY - COLORS don't affect terrain.

Hi. New here. Iโm having difficulty with ReShade and NMS. I have reshade preset to directx 11. It works well enough when I have HDR turned on in the games but ReShade is disabled if HDR is turned off. Anyone know why this happens?

AMUMSS doesn't need to update
the tool it uses does
AMUMSS still fetch the updated tool by itself when that is updated
if you're impatient you can just run AMUMSS daily and see if it starts downloading some random shit
Are the mods that change how planets terrain are generated, or that change the sky or ocean colors, responsible for the appearance and color of a planet at a distant being completely unrelated to the color and appearance of the planet when you get inside the atmosphere?

because otherwise, informing the devs is a legitimate way to let them know something needs to be fixed

You need to open one of your frigate's status after trying to claim it
Instead of the button being teleport to frigate, it'll be add to fleet
It's a UI bug and the option doesn't go away just because it takes you out of it, there's another way of accessing it
Is it true that clock manipulation to do the frigate expeditions will screw my chances of getting the dream aerial? Because I've done approx 80ish expeditions and had no luck lol

Okay, what I meant by fix is how do I get the frigate, not how do I patch the game so this issue doesn't ever happen, and that was obvious; man, narcissism is rampant.
I posted in the wrong section, but I was not asking for how to patch a bug in the game, that should have been obvious; I only posted in this section because I thought using a save editor caused the problem.
Maybe try not to fixate on your own definitions of word when it was obvious what I wanted, and don't go around insulting people accusing them of being a narcissist just because you used a different definition for a word and wanted to be rude after I made the comment I did because the guy that originally responded was being rude.
Any time someone asks for a "fix" for an issue like that, it should be plainly obvious that all they want is the damn item in the first place, and for me this workaround is a fix.
To mod in NMS would I need prior programming knowledge & if not, can someone point me in the right direction? It's not a huge modding community so I'm honestly fearing that there's no way to learn for me out there
The narcissism is that you expect your line of thinking to be obvious to other people and the way they should be thinking. It's not so obvious when modders spend probably a majority of their modding time actually fixing bugs. We answer questions from people new to modding trying to fix bugs. We are constantly trying to figure out if things are accessible or in the exe. To be offended by the response is maybe taking things out of context. Then telling him how to behave.

Well my C# knowledge is minimal but I came in assuming because there's not a ton of mods for it that the modding for it is more or less working with a bunch of libraries which is usually pretty complex from my limited, traumatising experience

One thing I found funny though, because Nom Nom has not updated to this update, it does not see the freighter crew that is not in the bridge as real. I changed my fcrew from Vykeen to Korvax and Only the bridge crew changed, the rest are still Vykeen.

I am trying to find a mod I first saw last week sometime. The focus of the mod was to make it a little easier and more rewarding to use exocraft to explore the planet instead of flying your space ship everywhere. I seem to remember that that the mod "smoothed" out some of the terrain so there were more flat-ish and less jagged places. Has anyone seen it? I've been scrolling on Nexus for a half hour, no luck. Unless I scrolled past it by mistake, ugh

Many of the QOL mods I used are broke because of this update. The increased trader ship mod, increased S rank chances mod, Harvesting mod, the ships mod, pet AI mod. Bleh

You probably mean Mjstral's patreon. You should be able to find it from their discord server.

Both of those tools require you to have a script to run. I don't think there are any scripts that mute UI sounds. You can try gSound on Nexusmods, but it more mutes ambient sounds.
Otherwise, you would have to build one, which is going to take some work. You'll need to get familiar with the audio editor on the modding server.

They added it, I want to say about 9 months ago? Maybe more. There are other mod-related entries in the files that we don't understand, like an "IsFromMod" boolean for base building objects.
And how was "boolean" not in the Discord dictionary?
My guess is they were at least working on some kind of workshop-like feature. I don't know if it's continuing work or abandoned

NMS uses a 32 bit unsigned integer for the money value. An unsigned integer is a 32-bit datum that encodes a nonnegative integer in the range [0 to 4294967295].
This value is hardcoded. Mods will not change it unless they modify the .exe

So as I've let it be known, I've been stuck in 164 hyper drive hell for S-Class freighters
I turned on the mod and the first S class I found was 178.9. I'm curious what the mod changes

It will take some time, as the author just got the 3.97 update today and the compiler was just updated yesterday. There are palette changes that need to be accounted for

It changes three files. In InventoryTable, it makes the following change:
In AISpaceShipManager it makes this change:
ExperienceSpawnTable makes several changes that are too big for a screenshot but are unlikely to affect what you are describing
I would guess you had some sort of mod or corruption related to InventoryTable, as that also includes the min and max ranges for hyperdrive on freighters
With the mod installed, it overwrote whatever corruption you had with the pre-packaged mod contents that did not have said corruption

Then close the window, confirm the changes, then save one more time on Main tab
Check in-game at the QS vendor. Now you removed the fact it listed as 'redeemed', you should be able to do so again

Anyone one else notice a problem gathering storm crystals when you should be able to? I can't be sure exactly what fixed it, but I can say for sure that until I removed the following mods, I was not able to harvest them. I'm sure it's just 1 or 2 of them that were causing it, but I didn't have time to test one at a time. Naturally my primary suspicion is the 'g' mods.
Again, the exocraft mods are probably unrelated, I was pulling them out in groups to get it done asap so I could get some harvested

That just depends on your planet type. If the planet is extreme weather, the storm will be extreme storm
